(I know my neighbor's situation & am "playing" my part to look out for them). As I saw Sharon taking pics (of my neighbor's driveway and my trees that provide a partial canopy), I approached her to ensure this unloading would be as expected/without issue. I had been witness to the prior explanation of the expected process (including mention of the trees). "By-hand" unloading was the only option to preserve the trees. At the same time, this truck had an "arm" that would likely distribute materials directly into the existing roof more easily (if there weren't coveted trees in the way). "By-hand" Sharon & Chris unloaded the materials. Sharon was polite and professional, especially with addressing a next door neighbor (not the primary client directly). I'm delighted to give the update to my displaced neighbor that all is going as as planned!

This is not the first time this has happened, just first time they doubled the price of the doors we already paid for. The extended wait is normal, even without covid delays. Prior to visiting this location, I made an appointment to look at the types of doors available on the show room floor. When at the location, I picked out two doors with the help of Chris Owens. Chris explained the process to me about how long the doors would take as well as what to expect. After I picked out the doors and paid 50% down, Chris came to my home and measured my door spaces to ensue the doors I ordered would fit in my space. The install of the two doors I ordered was done over the period of two days. the backdoor took about half a day to install because the frame had to be removed. The front door was done in the period of a few hours today. Corey was the installer for both doors. Corey (like Chris) was professional and personable. Overall, I had a good experience with this company. While the wait may be long for the doors, the final product as delivered is sharp looking.

We were going to repair our old deck, but when code compliance showed up, we had to apply for a…read morebuilding permit. When we went looking for a contractor to build the new deck, we found Austin Outdoor Builders through their listing on Yelp and their website. Kit called me within a couple of days of my email, and really impressed me with his knowledge and experience with decks. I was concerned about City of Austin inspections, and he was very reassuring, pointing out that he talks to the inspectors by phone regularly. He booked a time to go over the engineering plan and the site, and again, I was very impressed when we met. He spoke of extensive experience in building decks, and asked questions about the site and the plan that reflected this. The quote was not cheap, but what is these days? My main concern was that they do the job properly and work with COA inspectors. Work started within a couple of weeks, and I was quite pleased with how the workers did their job. The only delay was to find an engineer to certify the footings before pouring the concrete. I had originally expressed concern about the durability of the support timbers, and Kit offered to coat them before laying the decking. Imagine my surprise when I found them painting the framing with high end professional oil based enamel! The only other delay was the week of the ice storm when Austin was closed for the duration. I was lucky to have family to remove the trees that fell on the lumber in the yard, because the next Monday they were back at work. Both the framing and final inspections went very smoothly and I am delighted with my new deck. I recommend Austin Outdoor Builders to anyone needing a deck.

We sought out AOB to replace a chainlink fence around our yard with an updated wood fence about 18…read moremonths ago. All around, our experience was wonderful, and they do high quality work. I'll talk more about our full experience below, but a couple of months ago we had a terrible storm in our neighborhood and a very large tree (at least 25 feet tall) fell directly on our fence. Despite a direct hit, the fence stood firm with only a small dent in the cap board. Talk about quality work! More broadly, our experience was great. We worked with a super helpful person laying out the task who made some fantastic design suggestions (totally not on our radar) that we're really happy with. The work was done efficiently to mimimize the amount of time we had to keep our dog out of the yard. And when seasonal shifting made it impossible to open our gate, they came and fixed it months after the work was done. Great experience all around and would recommend to anyone.
