I LOVE BBB at Bayside because well first of all there is actual parking next door for it. Parking for a classes-only gym... In QUEENS?? Unheard of. It's mostly young professionals who are there to do their thing, hype you up if necessary, and peace out. It's not a large facility but the space is well used and organized. There's no excess clutter from machines and treadmills. There's only 2 treadmills and 2 stationary bikes towards the back of the main floor. On the main floor, there's an open space for the trainers to run drills and for trainees to transition from one exercise to the next. Plenty of free weights, dumbbells, kettle bells, battle ropes, pull up bars, etc. My friend is actually a trainer here, and he told me to come by..which I did and I brought another friend of mine who was looking for a personal trainer..so that was a great opportunity. Rates are definitely cheaper than other gyms in the area. For example, I believe Bell Plaza runs personal training at the rate of $1 a minute..which is quite costly in my opinion. ReBound costs like half as much per session. **And what's cool is, they don't have monthly membership fees, so just purchase a training package that's it. No need to pay for both the training and a monthly gym membership!** Clientele varies greatly as well.. Like tonight when I went to check it out, I saw an elderly woman in her 60's.. And the way she was training and doing the drills that the trainer gave her, she might've been in only her 30's..Loll There's the usual people who just want to stay healthy and stay in shape and there's more hardcore athletes looking to improve on a sport or skill. ReBound is fairly new.. Only like 2-3 years.. And it's very well maintained and clean. Equipment is new. I'm a skeptic and don't just take advice from anyone, but Jayson knows his stuff. He's super smart, which makes him a much more effective trainer. He's constantly taking new courses or working for new certifications to be the best possible trainer for his clients. He doesn't use the same workout for everyone or every session, and modifies the weights or exercises based on injuries and strength levels. He's pointed out which exercises are great when recovering from pregnancy, and knows how to work with people who haven't worked out in a few years, or ever. He's spent years learning the science behind physiology and metabolism and explains things as you work out. Jayson structures workouts to be balanced by muscle group so that you can go from one movement to the next without much rest in between. It's super efficient, which means it will hurt like hell, but you only need a few workouts a week for serious results. Jayson knows when to push you, and when to tell you you're done (even when you think otherwise). Go for it - you'll be in good hands.
