Background: Rondi did my parents will/trust. They were satisfied with her work. So when I needed help filing family court documents, we hired her along with her brother who is an attorney (who is great by the way) He would be representing me in limited scope, and she would be handling the paperwork. Everything started great. Rondi got all my initial documents filed. Then she started making mistakes. Mistake #1: She forgot to put my court date on the attorney's calendar. So I was sitting in court waiting for my attorney to arrive and he never showed up. I called him and he stated that he had nothing on his calendar. He immediately apologized and made a court call, which the judge accepted. Mistake #2: After the trial was over she was supposed to file an "order and findings after hearing." She said she filed it and that I should wait a few weeks to go pick up a copy because it needed the judges signature. After a few weeks I went to pick up a copy at the courthouse and the documents person said they had nothing on file. I told Rondi that the court had nothing on file and she stated she filed it so she didn't know why the court had not received it. She said she would re-file it and even sent me a picture of it sitting in the filing basket at the courthouse. Mistake #3: After re-filing those documents I went to court to pick up a copy. It was there! I was so relieved. Until I looked at the paperwork and saw my son's last name spelled wrong, as well as the defendants last name. Which makes the documents worthless. I called Rondi and explained the issue. She told me to circle whatever was misspelled on the document, then send her a picture of it. I sent it via text and email with the CORRECT spelling of the names. She called me and said in a very condescending tone to follow her instructions step by step and that I needed to send the document to her as a picture. I sent it to her as a pdf because of the size of the document. Finally she was able to get the pdf open. She kept asking me why I corrected both my sons and defendants name, and asked why they are spelled the same. I said they are the same BECAUSE THEY HAVE THE SAME LAST NAME. They are father and son! She then said well since you cut me off mid sentence I'm going to go. Then she hung up on me. She acted very unprofessional, emotional, and acted as if I was the one who made a mistake. When in reality this is HER job and SHE'S the one who messed up. This was not her first or second mistake. This was a careless mistake that I had every right to be frustrated with. I must admit we hired her at a discounted rate, so maybe I got what I paid for I don't know. I'm sure Rondi has done some good work before and others might like her. This is just MY experience with her. So take what I say with a grain of salt. This was my first time going to court so now I know. PAY THE MONEY AND GET SOMEONE GOOD or you will pay for it in other ways. Rondi, in no way shape or form did I deserve the way you spoke to me. I was nothing but patient and cooperative. Be better. There's no excuse.

My biggest issue with this firm was the billing. The entire experience felt like I was being…read morenickel-and-dimed at every opportunity. I would receive multiple phone calls covering the same information and then be billed for each conversation. There were also charges for seemingly random "file reviews," even when there had been no new communication or activity that I could see that would have necessitated reviewing my file again. It became extremely frustrating watching my retainer get eaten away by charges that, from my perspective, seemed unnecessary or repetitive. The customer service was also incredibly condescending. On more than one occasion, the paralegal actually laughed at me when I didn't understand something about the legal process. Isn't helping clients understand that process the entire reason people seek out a service like this in the first place? I never claimed to be a legal expert. That's why I hired them. Being made to feel stupid for asking questions was unprofessional and completely unnecessary. The final straw came when I decided I no longer needed their services. I still had a couple hundred dollars remaining on my retainer and was then charged an "account closing fee." I would genuinely love to understand why it costs a client money for a firm to simply stop working on their case. Unfortunately, the quality of the work did not make the billing any easier to accept. Legal documents they prepared for me contained multiple errors and typos that had to be corrected. When you are being billed for seemingly every interaction and file review, you would at least expect the documents you are paying for to be carefully prepared. By the end, the billing practices felt excessive and difficult to justify. I walked away feeling like maximizing billable charges was a bigger priority than providing efficient service and value to the client. I went to this company specifically because I wanted an affordable alternative to an attorney. Instead, I walked away feeling nickel-and-dimed at every opportunity. For a business that markets itself as helping people navigate legal matters without the expense of hiring a lawyer, I found the billing practices particularly disappointing. In my experience, what was supposed to be the cost-effective option ended up feeling like anything but. I would not recommend this company. Save your money. Look elsewhere. UPDATE: The response from Lydia is correct -- I never voiced my concerns out of fear of not getting quality work from their offices after the frequent charges and the way they handle customer service. The few times I did request clarification about something, I was charged for condescending phone calls that simply reiterated previous points without appropriate explanation. At one point, I was even charged for an email that simply contained a blank form that I already had access to. I'm sure they do keep detailed records. Unfortunately this attention to detail is not the same when it comes to basic typos or even customer service. I'm not disputing their records at all, so it's a moot point. I will, however, say that the number of minutes they charged me for, at times, did not match my phone records. I suppose they round up. And, no, I did not previously express concerns about their customer service or condescending attitudes. You are a business. You are taking people's money and providing them with a service. If I need to tell you how to provide that service appropriately and respectfully, I'll simply take my business elsewhere -- which is exactly what I did. I waited to write this review until I was sure I no longer needed any documentation from them because, again, I just didn't trust them. And, yes, again, Lydia is correct. I did not follow up about the remainder balance of my retainer. After their "closing fees" I believe I had about $12 left. You can keep it, I'm sure the time you took to write this response falls under one of the inordinate business fees. Finally, she is correct -- I always ended correspondence with appreciation for their work. That's basic human kindness and a professional and appropriate way to deal with a business transaction. Did this business provide a service? Yes. So, I thanked them for their efforts. Did they do it well? No. So, here we are.

while dealing with a stressful time and not knowing how to handle court for the first time, when I…read morehad signed up with them I informed them of when the judge wanted all my paperwork by for the cutoff date, but when I repeatedly informed my lawyer she stated she would send it it. but then when I went in before the court date to ask my lawyer what to say, she hadn't sent in the paperwork. Then while we were at the court hearing the judge informed me that my paperwork was not sent in on the time she ordered, so she didn't even hear any of my side. After that while trying to set up child support, the child support office informed me to have my lawyer just inform them over the phone that they allow a limited scope, and when I told the receptionist what the child support office stated, she said that wasn't correct and that they needed another paperwork sent into them (substitution of counsel) which would take my lawyer off the case when I still had 1200 left in my retainer fee. which I was scared if I signed her off then I'd have to resign her on and create a whole new retainer and I already only had a credit card that I maxed out for the retainer, so I didn't sign off then. When I had asked for legal advice on what the court order had stated she also made things worse by giving me in correct advice and made the judge mad at me for not doing the correct thing. I'm a single parent who can barely afford to take care of myself and my child and I got into more debt and stress by hiring this firm and it was the worst thing to do.
