We…read moreordered sweet tea, a Dr Pepper, chicken Alfredo (requested crispy chicken, not grilled), a Philly cheesesteak pizza, mozzarella sticks, and buffalo wings. The only item that was even somewhat edible was the mozzarella sticks, which appeared to be straight from mass-produced packaging. The sweet tea was not sweet at all, despite being told it was. There was a noticeable chip in the glass of the Dr Pepper, and pieces were falling into the drink when it was set down. The bread served with the Alfredo tasted stale. While the noodles were cooked, the sauce was clumped together and completely lacked flavor. On top of that, the Alfredo came out with grilled chicken instead of crispy, and no one mentioned the change. The wings were extremely soggy, and the cheese on the pizza tasted artificial. Service was also very disappointing. When we arrived, everyone at the front counter was on their phones. We waited over 20 minutes between our appetizer and our main course. When the server brought us to-go boxes, she did not bring the check. We waited about 10 minutes for the check to be dropped off, and then another 10 minutes for her to return and pick it up--even though she passed our table multiple times. The check was sitting at the edge of the table with a card clearly visible, and we were close to going to the front counter to pay ourselves. We are both feeling sick afterward. This restaurant is extremely overpriced for the quality of food and level of service. We gave it one last chance after a previous visit, but the experience has only declined. We used to love Millstone before the change in ownership, but since the new owners took over, the quality has gone downhill while prices have increased. If we hadn't felt bad for our server for having to work at this establishment already, we would've sent the food back. I do not recommend dining here. Even chain pizza places like Domino's or Pizza Hut offer better quality, and for genuinely good pizza, Legend Pizza & Co. just down the road is better priced with excellent food.

And we were THOSE people, unintentionally. We showed up 15min before the kitchen closed (not knowing there was or expecting there to be a kitchen) and 45min before the brewery itself closed. I can't lie, we've been crazy road-tripping it & we were, again, excited when they mentioned food. I'm not sure if the kitchen staff were as excited as us, but they didn't let on that we were putting them out, even with such a late order. We did try to be accommodating- I went so far as to say "give me anything you need to get rid of." Of course, the barkeep had already taken our orders by that point & I guess that was that. Chicken fried steak for me & a brisket wrap for the hubs - we could have (& probably should have) split either & would have had plenty to eat. We both took food with us to the hotel & we had leftovers for breakfast (2-fer). The food came up fast & the flavors were good. I appreciated the non-traditional take on the chicken fried steak. No country gravy here... she ate like schnitzel which went well with the beer! Speaking of, on to the reason for stopping, beer. Sage Creek IPA 3.75 Mountain Wheat IPA 4 Sand Coulee Red 4.25 Heart Mountain Hefe 3.75 Service couldn't be better. I can't stress enough how much I appreciate not being made to feel like I shouldn't be there- even being encouraged to enjoy both the food & beer, despite the late arrival. Kudos!

I think a brewer or owner was in a table talking on the phone the whole time. The beer was 4/5. The side salad was big 5/5. The sandwich/ wraps were 3/5. A bit too much liquid or slightly chewy chicken. The Thai wrap was more like sesame. I'm a huge fan of the Mule Kicking Rye. It was the spiciest beer ever. I would have bought a 6 pack if they had them. The IPAs weren't my favorite. the wheat ipa was the best of them. The flying peanut butter stout in the can is their best overall.

On the other hand, if you want to dance, or stand and chat with friends away from the tables, or let the kids have a place to roam, the set-up works. The service is quick, friendly, and has no pressure to hurry up and order. The menu is on the wall, but there's also one near the register. Clearly people who come here already know what they want, if not pizza, then hoagies, wings, or salads. The pizza? I'm at a loss for words. It looked great. I mean, looked great as in ready for marketing ads. The toppings -- extremely generous toppings -- were spread precisely and evenly across the top. It looked too pretty to eat, but also too good not to dive in. Pulling out a slice gave another ad campaign worthy photo with the cheese leaving those long strings as the slice pulls away. That pizza should have stayed in the ad. There was an odd taste. The crust was not cooked. Not raw, but clearly not done. There was an odd taste to one of the toppings, not sure which, as though it had been stored next to something else and absorbed the odors. Because this was a to-go order, it was too late to take it back. Maybe it was too early in the pizza making day, but this pizza just didn't work. It's a pity because everything else about this small-town place was good.
