Frankie is the best! Made my first ever tattoo experience go as smooth as possible. Was quick, painless and loved the result.

    Patrick is an amazing artist.

Five star no doubt. There is no need worrying about a bad tattoo coming here. Pat is one of the best tattoo artist there is.

1/5 -- Terrible experience, especially for something I had planned for years…read more I genuinely hate leaving reviews like this, but my experience with this shop was unacceptable. I came in on my birthday for a Haku tattoo that I had been planning and looking forward to for years. I was originally quoted $900. The artist, Abi, convinced me to make the tattoo significantly larger than I had originally wanted. We then waited about an hour and a half for her to get started and work on the design. Once we were finally supposed to begin tattooing, her machine was dead, so we had to sit there for roughly another hour waiting for it to charge. But the worst part happened after the tattoo had already started. When Abi was almost completely finished with the outline, the shop owner walked over and asked, "So what's the plan here?" I was then told that because of the size of the tattoo -- the size I had been convinced to get -- and because they now considered it a "half sleeve," the $900 was only going to cover the outline. If I actually wanted the tattoo finished with color, I was told it would be another $500. So the price effectively went from the $900 I had been quoted to $1,400 after the tattoo was already outlined on my body. At that point, what exactly was I supposed to do? Walk out with an unfinished outline covering my arm? It was my birthday, I had planned this tattoo for years, and I was already committed once the tattoo was on my skin. The way the additional charge was presented felt hostile and incredibly money-driven. After paying all of that and finally finishing, I wasn't even given what I would consider adequate aftercare wrapping. No second skin was offered. My tattoo was covered with Saran Wrap and tape, which started falling apart almost immediately after I left the shop. To make matters worse, the finished design did not come close to the reference image I had provided. When I later brought up the things I was unhappy with, Abi told me that I only had three months to receive a free touch-up because that was supposedly the shop policy. That three-month restriction was never explained to me at my appointment. What I was told was that touch-ups were free. Neither my partner nor I remember being told there was any three-month deadline. When I pointed that out and tried to address my concerns, Abi blocked me on Instagram. That was apparently the resolution after I spent $1,400 on a tattoo I had dreamed about for years. I can deal with delays. I can deal with mistakes. What I can't accept is being quoted one price, being convinced to increase the size of the tattoo, having the price substantially increased after the tattoo was already on my body, and then being blocked when I raised concerns about the finished work and a touch-up policy that was never clearly communicated to me. This should have been an awesome birthday memory. Instead, the entire experience left me feeling taken advantage of. avoid this shop

I was pretty nervous about getting my ears pierced again, after probably 30 years since the last time I had them pierced. I stopped wearing earrings many, many years ago, but decided I was ready to wear them again. Anyway... I was greeted warmly. Some numbing was put on my lobes while we discussed details. Then... deep breath.... it was done and I hardly felt anything! The whole experience was so much better than I imagined it would be. It felt like I made a new friend and I was assured I could come back if I had any problems with the piercing. That was over a month ago and my ears are doing well. I'm eager to put in some new earrings, but healing takes time. I might even get another piercing done! It was such a great experience. Nothing like what I remember having done with the piercing guns as a child. I would recommend Karma Ink to anyone. Side note: I was a little confused about the location while trying to find it. The piercing is done at one location, a tiny little shop at 190 and Jupiter. The ink is done at another location, further up Jupiter (I believe). I would not hesitate to visit either of these locations again. Highly recommend.

In March I found Rowan. Piercing by nurses - what could go wrong? I made an appointment online and when I arrived the vibe was already off. Front desk girlies were not super warm and I felt rushed to choose jewelry with minimal help or explanation - but knowing I was paying for quality hypoallergenic materials gave me comfort. I have been to much busier places where they still take their time with each guest. My piercer was much nicer than those at the counter, and gave a thoughtful consult. We marked my ear a couple different times before settling on the best placements. I got 2 piercings on the same side, one was the upper lobe, the other above it, bordering cartilage on the edge. Overall, I felt like the cost and the on screen tip suggestions were not commensurate with the experience but hey, I was paying for expertise. A week later, things were not right with the 2nd one in the cartilage area - my ear was swelling and it felt like the post length they chose for me did not allow for this - ouch. I went back and my piercer was not there, and the one who helped me spent the first few minutes asking me questions in a very accusatory manner. Y'all - I have been getting piercings for decades. Regardless, the tone just exasperated things and the fact that they had to get the longer post was pretty much proof it may have been their error initially. The piercer decided to remove the jewelry and pierce a new spot in the same area with the longer post - this felt like a weird option as it is a thick part of the ear and piercing so close to the other when I was already swollen - I should have just taken the L and gone somewhere else after healing. I want to say that was another $50. It has been sensitive and sometimes icky on and off ever since. I know some areas take longer to fully heal than others but this was done in March. Out of all of the piercings I have ever had (including navel), I was never sitting with a painful infection like I am today, 7 MONTHS later, waiting for my super intense antibiotic prescription to be ready and bonus, RUINING MY FAVORITE HOLIDAY OF THE YEAR because I am in too much pain to go anywhere. 2 stars because my initial piercer was at least nice. 0 stars for everything else. All things considered, I would not return or recommend Rowan.
