We got our pixie bob from Amy six years ago. Let me tell you, it was love at first sight with this little guy (who's not so little anymore!). He has been a true joy, very loving and quite the instigator. He's talkative too, but usually when he's trying to tell us something. I know that sounds a bit "Lassie says Timmy fell in the well", but it's true. If his box needs cleaning, or a water bowl needs refilling...and yes, if we've gotten busy and missed snack time, he'll let you know about it. His temperament is one of the best I've seen in a cat, and having grown up a dog person, I was surprised at how dog-like he is in his mannerisms. I was also pleasantly surprised that he has never once in all these six years scratched anything other than his scratching posts. I would highly recommend LegendTales, and I frequently do. I have known Amy for 10 years and I can tell you she is 100% honest and has an above board, excellent cattery. I have owned & shown pixiebobs since 2000, but I am not a breeder. I have had the privilege to see many pixiebobs and visit many breeders in the northwest, and know most of the breeders across the country. When I decided to add another pixiebob to my family in 2012, I chose to acquire my cat from Amy at LegendTales. Our LegendTales girl Pipsqueak is now two years old and is healthy, happy, and super fun to have around. She fetches - all the time. She will bring you her toy (water bottle caps, scrunched up paper, catnip balls) and drop it at your feet, then sit and chirp at you until you throw the toy. She races after it and returns it to do it again. When my husband and I are both in the room, she takes turns which human gets the toy, bringing it to me once, then to my husband, then back to me. It is great fun for her and for us. I have one other pixiebob that fetches, but he will only play for a couple of tosses, and then he prefers to cuddle. Pipsqueak isn't a cuddler, she likes to be petted, and likes to be in the same space you are in, but she isn't into snuggles on your lap. I can respect that, because every cat, like every human, has its own personality. Bottom line - I would not hesitate to get a cat from Amy again. I've been to her cattery and know how fastidious she is about cat care, how well socialized her cats are, and how very carefully she reviews the genetics before each breeding to keep the breed healthy. More importantly, I know that Amy truly cares about every cat she has ever bred, and will do whatever she can to make sure her cats live happy, healthy lives. I know that any cat I get from her will be a great cat, and that if there were any problems with the cats health or behavior, that she would work with me to get a positive resolution. read more

Pixie bobs are the golden retrievers of cats, and Amy's (owner of LegendTales) pixie bobs are the best in the northwest! My partner did a bunch of research on different cat breeds and decided she loved the pixie bob temperament - gentle, loyal, loving, affectionate, playful, great with all ages, and often able to travel. We visited a lot of different catteries, and Amy's cats were the best by far. The cutest, but also the most affectionate and engaged. We got a kitten three years ago and he steals the heart of everyone he meets! My partner's parents call him their "grand cat", and they are not usually sentimental about pets! He knows how to "sit" for a treat, although he has not yet figured out "fetch". He is still playful at 3.5 years, but never destructive. He is active, but also likes to curl up on our laps. He loves to "help" with whatever we are doing, from sniffing ingredients as we cook, to investigating the new stove we put in. He is never vindictive or mean, as some cats can be. We decided to get him a "sister" and looked at many places again, including shelters, but finally decided on another cat from Amy. We got a 9 month old kitten who is just the sweetest thing and wants nothing more than to be with us or her "big brother". We have a 1 year old male pixiebob from legend tales. We've had him since he was 10 weeks old . Since the very beginning he's been a handful. On some days he meows several hours, but when we try to give him affection he just walks away. When anyone comes to visit he hides for up to several hours after company is gone. Other than his brushing in the morning he generally does not liked to be touched or cuddled. He's also very unhappy with us (i.e. lots of yowling and scolding tones) when we deviate from our usual schedules of getting up, bedtimes etc.. We got a second kitten from legend tales , hoping this would help socialize the first. The second cat was 6 months old and behaved so badly that we drove 8 hours to return her. We still wanted company for the first kitten so got a pixiebob kitten from Kaper cats ... Wow , what a difference ! The kitten from Kapers has been loving and playful literally from day one. The cat from Legend Tales still continues to be antisocial and scared of his own shadow. While the Kaper cat is very social and playful. I' ve been to Legend tales twice and have witnessed their high volume operation, I don't believe their cats are socialized properly and are poor representatives of an amazing breed. read more

I lost a cat I had gotten as a rescue from a local shelter and was devastated. Not wanting to go thru that again I opted to get a pedigree cat with a health guarantee. Simon arrived a couple of months later and changed my life forever. He is absolutely perfect in every way. He's confident, intelligent, affectionate, gorgeous and in perfect health. When you sit to watch TV or when you go to bed, he's right by your side. My family loves him. So much so that a year later we got another kitten from Amy, Angus (who Amy also picked out for us as we live on the East coast and were unable to travel out there). Angus has been here three months and fits right in with everyone in our house. He's feisty, full of energy (growing like a weed!) and has everyone running around and playing. Thru the year and a half I have known Amy, she has gone above and beyond to answer any question or concern I have ever had. She truly loves her cats and knows her stuff. We just got our new kitty from Amy at LegendTales. The whole process was easy and fun. We did our homework and researched the breed and other catteries, and Amy's cats always came out on top. We flew to WA to meet and see the all the kitties she had and how they are kept. Our going out was VERY short notice so the fact that all of her cats and her house and everything was SO clean really shows how well cared for they are. Amy was super friendly and informative. She knows her cats so well and can definitely tell which cats would do well with certain people. Although we did have a choice, she suggested a kitty for us and we agreed. She very clearly has her cats well being as her first priority and it shows. Our little baby has been home with us for 2 weeks and we couldn't be happier. She fits in well with our 2 dogs, kids and visitors. We are looking forward to many years of happiness with our awesome Pixie bob.
