Some of my close friends live in Brandon, so I convinced them to come with me as this locations offers a one day free trial for local residents, and this location appeared to have great reviews. We visited the gym on a Sunday morning, and both me and my friends were received with such hostility that I apologized for bringing them to that location afterwards. The gentleman at the main desk made comments such as : "Are you actually here for memberships or is this just another tire kicker for you?" And "I don't want to deal with this GymPass crap, just do the daily pass, it's faster". Once he saw my out of state ID, he stated "Oh, you're from Utah? You definitely won't be doing a membership then". Sir, of course I'm from out of State, my employer provides me with Gympass, if you're not familiar how the program works or if you're unhappy with it, you're more than welcome to cancel your enrollment. And if that's the reception you're providing for anyone enrolling under your 1-day pass, maybe it simply shouldn't exist. I'll point this out though, the facility itself is great, with clean machines and plenty of equipment.

It would be great if some of the newer equipment from that gym could be moved here. I'd especially like to see upgrades to the cardio machines. Many of them are extremely rusty, and some of the treadmills don't run very smoothly. The locker room could also use a bit of a refresh. Other than that, I don't have major complaints and I'm happy with the gym overall. I'd just love to see some equipment updates to match the newer location that recently closed.

I am suspicious that I got ringworm on my elbows while doing crunches but that's not really the gym's fault, it's just that some people are disgusting and don't wipe the machines. Plus it might have been bug bites because I garden a lot. Maybe enforce the machine wiping more somehow. I like that it's not too crowded but I do wish it had like monkey bars and maybe an outdoor fitness area. The new Pilates studio looks very nice and the newer lifting area is awesome. If you go here just wipe the machines down BEFORE AND AFTER you use them... not every member has a sense of personal hygiene or a care for shared property.

In the far back, they even have a posing studio for everyone getting ready to compete. I really enjoyed working out here. One of my favorite parts about this place is that people are here to work out and not come for social hour. They do offer personal training with professionals. You won't see them hanging on their phones while their clients do the work outs. The staff and owners are super nice. This place means serious business and so do the people that come to work out here.

please help me!…read more abbey, i requested cancellation december 31, 2025, my last day at the gym, before leaving the state. i was assured my membership was cancelled, when i went up to the desk to make sure, before i left. a very nice gentleman told me: "you have nothing to worry about! your membership is cancelled. you do not need any print-out, it is in the computer." he had opened the computer and entered data, as i stood there at the desk. you owe me for 6 months of the monthly fees, january through june, as well as the yearly fee, you charged to me in february of this year. you said it shows in the computer my last visit was december 31st, 2025. i have called and called and called you as well as billing over these last months. i have put a negative review, reporting your behavior, to the bbb as well as a couple of other places, including planet fitness. in the process, i discovered there are many one star reviews. i expect full payment for the illegitimate charges asap! i'm in shock at the unjust charges! it feels communistic. billing has told me as soon as you give them authorization they will credit me! i need reimbursement immediately for: $16.13 x six months totalling $96.78 + $52.68 for the yearly fee you charged me in february. you owe me: $149.46 total and i expect you to have the integrity and customer care to refund me in full asap. hoping and praying you will give billing authorization to pay me. sincerely, joyce redger This was in Greater Carrollwood

I wasn't feeling well and had stomach issues all day, possibly food poisoning. While in the restroom using the facilities (for about 30 minutes), I suddenly heard a knock on the door. A staff member, who later identified himself as Billy, said to me: "You've been in there for 1hr and I need to leave as you are trespassing." He then essentially threatened to call the police to have me removed from the building -- despite the fact that I am a paying Black Card member in good standing. This was humiliating, disrespectful, and completely out of line. At no point did Billy attempt to handle the situation with professionalism or courtesy. When I confronted him afterward, instead of acknowledging his mistake, he became defensive, lied about how long I had been in the restroom (first saying 1 hour, then changing it to 45 minutes), and dismissed my concerns. He even stood with his arms crossed, turned his back to me, and refused to listen. The implication that I had somehow "sneaked into the building" or was "squatting in the restroom like a vagabond" is unacceptable treatment toward any member, let alone a loyal paying customer. I have visited Planet Fitness locations all over the country and can honestly say this ranks as the worst experience I have ever had at any gym. Planet Fitness promotes itself as a "Judgment Free Zone," yet my experience was the exact opposite. If this is how members are treated, especially when unwell, then management needs to seriously reevaluate how their staff interact with paying customers. I've been coming to the…read moresame location for close to 15 years, I've canceled and rejoined many of times, depending on what promotions they have or if I have moved out of the area, but always still seem to come back to this one cause it's the closest one to me. With that being said, it's the same equipment that I've been working out on for 15 years. Even the treadmills have the old iPhone connectors that were pre-Lightning if that tells you just how old they are. I find a lot of the machines to be barely functional and just old looking. And instead of adding more machines to combat the high crowds, they decided to add some type of CrossFit section in the middle, which I think is a total waste of space. The bathrooms need a major revamp and are constantly disgusting with the sauna being in poor shape. Those I would easily not even give a single star. The hours at this gym are atrocious too, I remember when they rebranded to Esporta for a little bit during Covid, they had promises to become 24 hours which I strongly feel this gym needs because we don't have really any in the area that are like that but taking that a step further, this gym closes at 10 PM Monday through Thursday and Friday, Saturday and Sunday even worse, with them opening at 8 AM. Overall, this gym is functional. It works hence the two stars, but it's in serious need of a remodel and operating times extension.
