This is my go to barber. I've never gotten a "bad" cut, but I've gotten a few ok ones. I've been to a several barbers in the area though and they consistently give better cuts here. I removed a star because the atmosphere is what everyone else says. They drink and smoke in the shop and it feels unprofessional. The music is also, let's say "uncensored". This review is way overdue. Funny thing was....I made an appointment through the app Booksy with another barber, but he never showed up. Jeremy offered to cut my son's hair and so glad he did. I could never go to anyone else again. If you want a barber that is very detailed and knowledgeable, I highly recommend Jeremy! He is the absolute BEST and I've search everywhere. New to the area it was difficult going from barber to barber, not just that, but it can be intimidating as these places are for dads and sons. He's been cutting my son's hair for about year and is amazing! The best part is he takes his time and doesn't rush the process. I know many barbers like to rush, so they can get more client in. First of all... I don't understand why there are only 2 1/2 stars? Be sure to look at the "not recommended" reviews - they are almost all 5 stars and glowing. Their rating would be so much higher if these reviews were visible. That aside, we had a phenomenal experience. Faith trimmed my son's hair and she is nothing short of amazing. I know nothing about men/boys hair so she was able to explain fades etc. to me and my son. She was very respectful to my son and told him about everything she was about to do before she did it (this will be loud, I'm going to cut here, this will tickle, etc.) and it made him feel at ease as he was part of the process. When he had questions she always answered them and was more than happy to explain how/why she was doing what she did. When he was fidgeting and complained about the clipped hairs tickling his neck, she stopped and took to the time to remove the hair bib and use a blow dryer to clear away the clippings to make him more comfortable. In the middle of my haircut my son asked for "Z" design in his hair and without missing a beat Faith said, "Yes, as long as Mom is okay with it." Which I very much appreciated. Of course I have no qualms - it's his hair and I want him to be proud of it. I'm also very thankful that Faith was willing to accommodate this request mid-cut. The haircut took a little over an hour which is the longest haircut he has ever had, but it was so worth it. Faith didn't just chop it off and say "done." She took the time to check and re-check her work to ensure that everything was even with clean lines. Although my son was super fidgety at the 45 minute mark, I was extremely grateful that Faith took the time to ensure his cut was nothing short of perfect. Look at his face! He is SO proud of his hair and when we got in the car he asked, "When can we come here again?" My only feedback for the owner would be to have someone greet incoming customers. When we walked in the stylists looked up at us but no one said hello or asked if we had an appointment. They just returned to their work. I'd honestly never been to a barber shop so I wasn't sure if we just took a seat or what. It would also be nice to have an ATM (not sure if this is feasible) because the shop is cash-only. That being said, we will definitely be back because this place is 100% legit. Thank you Faith for the AMAZING haircut and awesome child-friendly experience. Wow! Here's a shout out to Jeremy! We walked in because we were in the area and the local kids haircut place is a nightmare to schedule. We went early so there was so wait and Jeremy politely introduced himself and suggested an easier way to cut my 19 month old's hair. He had him sit in my lap so he'd be more comfortable instead of just being in the booster. There were some tears from my little guy, but it didn't affect Jeremy's talent for cutting hair or nerves. My nerves were shot, especially when my 4 week old started crying too. He let me know that whenever I needed to get up and tend to the newborn, that it was alright with him. He was kind, patient, friendly, and inventive by bringing out a toy drill to distract my little man. I go in as a walk in, I called first and they said come in. I go in there and was mean mugged and ignored. About 10 mins later one of the barber asked if I'm there for a hair cut, duh! I continue to sit there ignored then 10 mins later they said you'll be at the last chair but not yet cause my barber is smoking. Smells like weed in the entire place. I just walked out. I understand everyone's experience varies, but I feel a good/great cut takes time. I actually followed my barber here and I've been getting consistently great cuts from him for years. From waiting hours for my turn to now just booking my appt. Although I find myself still waiting(a few mins) I know that he takes his time with each cut. Even when mine goes into potentially someone else's appt he doesn't rush mine. If you're a new client I can see why it can be frustrating cause yeah, you booked and probably already pressed for time. However, just be a little extra patient cause you won't be disappointed with Daniel. There have been a lot of barbers come and go since I've been coming here and they all seem capable. It's always challenging looking for the right one. Whether you go to a place that's "cheaper" or better "customer service" is the quality of the cut worth it? Anyways, I can't speak for all the barbers, but book with Daniel he won't let you down. Only other person I've seen do a phenomenal job is Krispy. He seems pretty consistent as well. Do not use Cassie as your barber. She has cut my son's hair for the past 4 years and each year she has been taking a turn for the worst. She has moved shops 3 times since we used to see her at Legends. This past time was the last straw. We made an appt with her by text message and she didn't bother to tell us that she moved shops again, from Luxx to Legit barber shop. When I texted her she laughed and didn't even apologize for not letting us know. Once we got to the new shop she wasn't even there and made us wait 35 min without an apology. That is just the tip of the iceberg. When we asked for a specific cut with no buzzers and for her to use just scissors for a trim she was confused. My son likes his long wavy/curly hair and only was trimming it for a band performance. We asked for two inches off the top and 1 inch off the sides and back. Just a trim not to buzz anything. 2 min into the cut, she left my son for 10 min going onto her phone in the back of the building. We only knew this because one of us went to the restroom and saw her on the phone. Then my son (13) texted me to come back in because I was waiting in the car and I knew from the look on his face he was not happy. She buzzed his sides, and argued with him when he specifically asked her not to use the buzzers and not to go short. She told him she knew what he likes and continued to do it how she wanted. Then when I got back into the shop she was still arguing with him and that is when I noticed blood on her hand and on the back of the wrap on my son's neck. It looked as though she cut herself and instead of cleaning up the blood she dabbed it with a little pirate of tissue. The blood was all on her hand and on my son's neck. I was mortified. I told her that I am taking my son and that she need not finish. She then couldn't get the barber's cape off of him and just said screw it I can't get it off and said leave with it. I then tried and also couldn't get it off. She then came over and just cut it off all irritated. Mind you my son's neck was right there. I then asked her how much do I owe you for what you did and she said just leave. So we did it with a half cut. My son was not happy but once we got into the car he said that Cassie argued with him, and used the buzzers, cut the sides extremely short and what made him text me was that Cassie And the other barber that was in the shop were doing drugs right in front of him while he was in the barber seat. I was livid!!! I tried asking what kind of drugs and he said they were smoking it in something glass but didn't smell like weed. I reported their business. This is not okay and especially for a 13 year old to have to go through this and see. I have called 4 times since the incident to get a hold of the owner and he is never in the shop and each person who answers says they don't know how to get a hold of him. There are so many other barber shops in the area I recommend NOT going here. read more
