I would say first off to make an appointment if you don't want to wait. I went around noonish and fortunately there was a lady that didn't have anyone so she took me immediately. Which was great. But shortly after numerous people came in and all the barbers were busy so the other walk ins had to wait for a while. Either way I was glad I got serviced right away, the cut came out great. Shawna. Period. This lady is awesome. She is super skilled, both at her craft, and the perfect level of conversationalist. She takes a vague description of what you want(cause god knows I'm not good at communicating what I'm hoping to walk out looking like), and manifests what's in my head into real life. And the whole time, we're chopping it up for a couple minutes, and then she lets me zone out and take a 5 minute cat nap. Highly recommended. Especially for $26 for a mens cut. I almost never leave negative reviews but in order to save someone else from a similar experience I feel compelled to make people aware, I received a haircut on 8/22/23 @ 5:30PM in which I requested for just 2 inches of length to be cut from the top, the barber "Jr" said he'd be utilizing a method so that he wouldn't haven't to do "extra" work measuring my hair length, which I was skeptical about but trusted considering he said been cutting hair for several years. Long story short he cut over 6 inches of length, well over a years worth of hair growth. While I admit I could/should have brought this up immediately after the haircut, I had somewhere to be and I wanted to sit with it at least for 1 day to decide if I could let it go which is what I did but I ultimately decided that since it was not even close to what I asked for and only 1 day had passed that I'd be returning to request a refund. Today I politely asked to speak to "Jr" away from any of the clientele in the shop, I made my request and even when I provided pictures as to how much he actually cut off, he just smiled smug laughing it off and refused to take any accountability, saying I should have said something that day which I really do wish I would have done. After that he took a look around at his coworkers expecting them to support him but when they all turned a blind eye his whole mood changed instantly. He proceeded to say that I am doing a "bad thing" but that he would give me refund, immediately threatening me 4-5 times that "karmas gonna get you", even on my way out he made sure to say it again and I just told him God bless! For my first visit, I remember Eugene expressing his anger to me about people passively standing by while a woman was sexually assaulted on a subway. This second time, when my hair was being cut, Fox News talked a bit about a school shooting and then presented a heated debate on abortion pills. During my shave, a customer, Eugene, and a couple other workers discussed a number of things including but not limited to child porn being found on laptops (that is, as a phenomenon in general), controversies surrounding Hunter Biden, and whether Joe Biden is an animatronic or just heavily altered by plastic surgery. I'm not factoring this into my rating, which solely reflects my opinion of the quality of their services, but I think it's noteworthy. I decided to get a Brazilian blowout, she explained to me that it will last about 3 months and that the starting price was around $200 based on my hair . We'll she ended up charging me $290 plus $75 for products she highly recommended in order for the treatment to last . All in all I paid her $400 for a Brazilian blowout that only lasted me one week . I messaged her and her only solution was for me to redo the treatment . She wanted to put all those chemicals back on my hair one week after the original treatment . I declined because I did not feel comfortable redoing the treatment only week apart, from the original date. I ended up losing $400 on a treatment that was gone after only week. She did not even apologize once, i even asked her if she can give me some of my money back , and she refused . I feel cheated and ripped off by her and this establishment. read more

I keep trying to find another place closer to home, but like tonight I sat for over an hour and some other "barber's" chair, for something that cost more time and money then what you Eugene could've done in 15 minutes. My husbands been going here for years, we dont always get the same stylist , ( you could totally request someone though if you wanted) but we are always very happy with our cut every time and with everyone there. We loved having Kelly cut our hair (especially mine) she was great at taking time with my layers and got us in and out very quick. She does really clean work and has a good sense of humor . My husband gets a basic fade and it always looks super clean and blended. He has wavy hair and Eugenes the only shop that cuts it and styles it the way he likes. I feel like if you have Caucasian hair (or a very similar texture) this shop will be great for you. If you don't or have a "complicated haircut", go somewhere else. When I walked in, Kelly and the Asian lady (I didn't get her name) were working on clients in the front. I asked how much for a haircut and Kelly told me $15. The Asian lady told me she charges $15 for men also. BUT she charges women $30 and I'm a female so my haircut, from her, would be $30 (talk about gender discrimination) AND she proceeded to tell me she isn't good with my hair texture... aka: black people hair. So I should just wait for Kelly. That rubbed me the wrong way. I should have walked out. I didn't. I'm very grateful she was being honest?? But damn. If the chicks at Great Clips cut my hair without saying a peep, I didn't understand the issue here. But it confirmed the gut feeling I had that I was in the wrong barber shop (for my hair texture). I should have walked out. I was dying to get my haircut though so I waited an extra 15-20 minutes for Kelly to finish the man's hair she was cutting because at this point she was the only employee available for the black people that wanted their hair cut. Me. I have never been to a legit barber in my life. Being a woman, there was never a need. If anything I was in salons, or braidreies.
