Lehigh Valley Grand Prix is go-karting on steroids. The carts are fast (up to 45mph, they claim), and the course is challenging. I went here a couple weeks ago with some coworkers, and we all had a pretty good time. Prices are a little steep, but that's to be expected for something like this. It's $30 for an annual pass plus one race, and it's $19 for every race after that. After watching a safety video and getting helmets, you strap yourself into a go-kart. When we went, we were the only people there, but you'll likely have to wait if you go during peak hours. The race was a lot of fun, though it can be a little annoying when you want to pass slower drivers, since the course isn't very wide. It only happened 2 or 3 times for me though. When you're finished, they give you a printout of your lap times and how they compare with everyone else who raced. This is definitely a lot of fun, and if you're into this sort of thing at all, I'd definitely recommend it. read more

If you looking for a safe, fast go-kart racing experience then this is your destination. LVGP is a well maintained facility that hosts many events. You can have birthday parties,corporate events, large groups, and even go alone to race. If it is your first time there then you will be required to watch a safety presentation which is short and self explanatory. LVGP does have various leagues if your looking for that competitive edge. Children use smaller go-karts and only race with other kids. I think you have to be 16 or older to race the faster go-karts. The only reason I give this place 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the price. The prices are to expensive in my opinion and it doesn't keep me as a valued customer. However, prices may be acceptable for those who enjoy this hobby. Although I say it can be pricey I still enjoyed myself every time I have gone there. I don't remember the exact costs, but they do have a website you can explore, The sessions are 8 minutes long. You may think that is a short amount of time, but it definitely is the right length of time. It is a course consisting of many turns, hence the Grand Prix part of the title. The Good? Nice, clean karting. Fast and well maintained karts. But its indoors and the karts are gass powered. Cost is pretty standard $24 per race without a membership--not oeverprice or a good deal. The Bad? It smells horrible, and you leave with a terrible odor on you. I have to assume its a health hazard. Also its frigid in here (February). The Verdict? Velocity 17 (Ramsey, NJ), Pole Position (Jersey City, NJ) - both are electric cars which are just as nice, new and fast. Smells clean. PROS: The karts are fast and a lot of fun. The printouts they give you after each race have a lot of good detailed info on your laps and where you placed. CONS: You will leave smelling like exhaust and yes and it is cold in there during the winter, but both argent a big deal. Some drivers get very aggressive and even though they say no bumping, people still do. BUT it is a lot of FUN! Really, white knuckle adrenaline pumping fun. :) Price for 3 races with a yearly membership was $60...about going price for fast karts. I bought the Groupon for this place for my boyfriend and although it was about an hours drive from our place, it was totally worth it. We had such a good time. I bought two races for each of us and was pleasantly surprised! The cars go a lot faster than I was expecting! I also really liked how professional and non-bootleg this place was. It is disorganized and the staff that are on either have little support from the owners or management, or they just don't care. They have no way to get tokens during business hours and that is disappointing as you will have to wait to go. The staff on the track was motivated and helpful but the face of the Grand Prix, the front desk. I would come back, but not with the family, just adults. read more

Well this could have been a really fun place. Except for the fact that the race (my first) I was in was "so brutal" (owners words) that the owner Mike had to come out to watch it. Not stop it. Watch it. I went to leave and was so upset that I drove ba K to ask for a refund because I didn't pay 80 bucks to play bumper cars. He then told me that the computer would not allow to refund my money, but I could have store credit. I don't plan on ever returning. Why would I want credit. I tried my best to get a refund, not yelling or being rude but in the end I just walked out. "it was a very brutal race, my computer doesn't allow refunds" read more

We arrived at the posted opening time. There was only one group before us, yet we're still waiting for our FIRST race, an hour and a half later. The staff had clearly just arrived and were not ready at all. Lights were off, chairs were on tables, and track was not ready. It was 55 min before the first group (a birthday party!) Even got to go. A few weeks ago I made an appointment for a 16th birthday party for my son and 7 friends. It was our first time there and we did the 3 race package on a Friday afternoon. Wow, what a ride ! The looks on the kids faces after the first race made it all worthwhile. There were a number of other people racing that day, but we were able to have the track to ourselves (8 cars) for each race. We then waited for one or two more races before we got back on. We needed the break. It was a very hot day outside in the 90's but they had large fans blowing lots of air around the track which made it more bearable in the track area. For those that complained about the exhaust smell - It's car racing people ! With gasoline engines ! And it's a little loud too ! That's what makes it great. Go home and take a shower or play shuffleboard instead. The staff was very friendly, polite and helpful. Definitely, definitely will be back. read more

The lobby and track are clean and professional. The karts are fast and agile, and the 8 minute race seems like a lifetime on the track. Don't let the price drive you away either. Pros they are the best karts ive ever done. Track is great and the Marshall keep the racing clean and safe. Price is fair. They also offer leagues. Cons terrible management. Two different times they have gotten mouthy with me when I came to them with a problem. You tell them that nothing is broke and they roll their eyes at you. Stay away! We had such an awful experience here. We hardly ever go because it is so far out of the way and ridiculously overpriced but my boyfriend want to go for his birthday so we did. Every race almost half the time was spent under caution and his final race he couldn't even get a full lap in because of one person the staff knew couldn't drive and would deliberately drive into walls but they let them out on the track anyway. Then they had the nerve to refund a group of guys for that same race but denied us when we asked. To top it all off the staff let us sit around at a table for over an hour waiting for our last race and when we finally went up and asked what was going on they told us we couldn't do our last race because of the private party they had coming in. The very rude employee behind the desk comped us two races for the inconvenience and when I asked for a refund she rudely denied us. The fact that it's $20 a race and we didn't get refunded for the one that was completely wasted and the other they weren't going to tell us that they would not have time for us to do is absurd. When I tried to explain that comping us for two races was a waste because we never come there she said she had done more than enough by doing that. Overall it was not a very pleasant experience and they managed to do nothing more than aggravate my boyfriend on his birthday. read more

I don't know who these employees think they are. Here is a back story of my buddies and mine lives, basically we are professional enduro dirt bike riders. We ride tough and we ride to win. It was the end of the night and they put about 18 people in a 20 minute enduro. My friends and I got so excited and we were going to race to win. They shut the race down 15 minutes early because of "aggressive" racing. We thought nothing of it as we went out to the bar area. Everybody went in the race room to race as we followed, we then got kicked out because we were riding to aggressive. They gave us NO warnings at all. read more

My first time at this track and I was very impressed. I have raced at Speedway 17, S&S Speedway, Speed Raceway, and another track I can't remember the name. LVGP karts are fast and the track is great. The reason I wanted to write a review was the staff. They all knew what they were doing and had excellent attitudes. They did an excellent job in maximizing the track time and keeping things moving. I had very little if any wait time, yet there were quite a few people there. Took my boyfriend here as an early birthday surprise. It was definitely fun! The cashier was nice and informed us right away it'd be at least an hour wait so he let us sign in and we said we'd come back in a bit. ... The pricing seems high per race for sure. The helmets need cleaned definitely. It was hard to see out of them, I even tried using one of the head socks to clean it. During the race, the blue flag was never put out even though myself and other racers were faster than the cars blocking our way in front... seems a little odd given that the video said this should be put out. Overall though it was a great time and we are SO coming back. I'll just have to bring windex. read more

The place is very clean and fun. The prices are little steep, but worth it (Sometimes). The reason why I gave it three stars is because the past two times my friends and I have went there weren't as fun as the first two times. The reason why is because both recent times there was a crowd there made the whole experience "lame" and "waste of money and time." Obviously, these customers come often so they knew the track layout inside and out. For people who come once every couple of months, we barely got to race and "got in the way" of the regulars. The races we paid for, we had to move out of the way or get moved out of the way. Racing is racing, that is fine being a race fan. It was just the atmosphere of we shouldn't have been there and that we were "in the way." Even though it wasn't a league night or a schedule practice time. Lehigh Valley Grand Prix sounds like a place for kids. Believe me; we kids at heart had a blast there. I am in my 60's put still love putting the petal to the metal. I enjoyed running the track with no worry. It is a fun place to throw a party with all the area for food, drinks, and fine conversation. I am ready to race again. This place is one of the most unorganized attractions i've been to. Both times i've been there, one of the workers has messed up and we had to wait for a long amount of time. We got 2 races in while we waited more then 5 hours. They told us to be back by a certain time for our first race then we waited there for at least 2 and a half hours. If they told us there was going to be a long wait we would've just left or went somewhere but they decided to tell us false information in order for us to stay so they can make more business. Second time I was here the manager kicked us out and did not tell us what we did. He proceeded to be a big man and follow us out the door and threaten us. He said if we don't leave he is calling the cops when all we wanted to figure out is what we did wrong. He also decided to brag to us and say that he makes $60,000 a year.
