My blood was literally discarded because the script from my doctor did not come in until 4:45 and they needed it by 5. I guess they did not feel it necessary to work the last 15 minutes of the day. The employee should have done two things, tell me they would discard the blood, and call the doctors themselves to speed up the process. I actually had a script that was not expired, but the doctor retired and despite the fact I had a new doctor they did not honor it. This was 100% disturbing to me, definitely medical negligence and they get away with these kinds of practices. In my complaint to HNL I said, "This was not a grocery order pickup". HNL LABS - Terrible. Have a homebound parent with cancer who needed the concierge to draw blood. They pulled a no show, and when I called the home service, no one answered, various automated answers followed, was put on hold, then after 10 minutes got a "no one is here leave a number". I left a number, and they never called. The worst. read more

I needed lab work (blood) a few weeks ago. I wasn't sure what to expect (due to COVID). I went early in the morning. The phlebotomist was very kind and easy to talk with. She got my vein on the first try. My doctor had my results in a little over a day. The last few times I have been there, it has been a good experience. read more

If I could leave a negative zero I would. Tried calling to speak with a supervisor and the receptionist somehow went into my record and transferred me to the phlebotomist I recently saw. I did not give the receptionist my name. She also interrogated me as to why I wanted to talk to the supervisor. I believe this is a HIPPA violation, at the very least. I called back and no one is answering my call. In fact, my call was disconnected at 9 minutes waiting for someone to answer the phone. Horrible horrible service. That receptionist needs to be fired. Months ago, wrong doctors names were put on my lab tests. After multiple phone calls, a supervisor told me it would be fixed "in a couple of days." HNL took over Northeastern Labs in Hazleton PA. Both my mother and my brother require in home blood draws. This was never a problem with Northeastern. Since HNL took over, I have spent hours on the phone every time one of them needs blood work. Initially it was to find out how to even contact the lab, then to make an appointment. I never had to call when the lab was NE as they called me, but since it is HNL they get the script but never call to schedule. I call the lab, leave messages, no one calls back. I call the 855 scheduling number, no one answers, I leave messages, no one calls back. I call customer service in Allentown and wait while they call someone, etc etc. Each time I ask what the procedure is to schedule an in-home draw. Each time no one knows. This. Happens. EVERY. Went to HNL labs because they are in my health care providers network. They did my blood work, no problem. The billing has become an issue. They incorrectly entered wrong diagnostic code and insurance wouldn't cover. I explained this to HNL and the asked for new script. from my physician, which they sent to lab. HNL never resent to insurance company. No, they send me a bill two months after, then put me up for collection. I HIGHLY recommend people stay away from these scammers, unless you want bad credit thru no fault of your own. read more

Twice I have tried to get blood work at the Cedar Crest Blvd location. Both times I checked in online and it noted that there was less than a 20 min wait. I checked in again when I got there and I received a text saying I would be notified when someone was ready for me. Both times I left after I had waited well beyond the time that was posted that I was supposed to have waited. The first time I didn't receive a text until 45 minutes after my parking lot check in that someone was ready for me. I sent an email about my experience to HNL and I received a phone call saying it was a computer error measuring the time between patients. The second time I left after 30 minutes. 9/8/20 This morning I was at your 1503 Cedar Crest Lab. Your sign-in system is very confusing. The screen is located in a very dark area hard to read. Forget about the help button it doesn't work. Newcomers were taken ahead of me. When I finally spoke up to the attendants that I keep getting overlooked, they were very very rude. Not everybody is in good health. A long wait is difficult for some of us. When I pointed out the sign screen is confusing she all but told me to shut up, and now I had to be stuck by her. I wasn't able to get my blood work drawn at this location because there was a glitch in health networks lab computer and they didn't get my electronic script. The girl who was going to take my blood was very rude and annoyed that I didn't have my script, and she felt inconvenienced that she had to call my Dr. I didn't want her sticking me, so I left. I ended up driving half way home, my Dr called me and explained what happened and I went to the NEW health networks lab in Schnecksville. They were awesome. read more

My husband went for blood tests on 12/27/16. He had two scripts that went to different doctors. He showed the scripts, the woman said they were expired and it was against the law to do the tests. He asked why he never heard of this. She said she would call the doctor but it would take too long and she had other people waiting. She was so rude that he took his scripts and left. He went to a different lab, they took him immediately and were very pleasant. I also had a bad experience there with the staff being very rude. It's the closest lab to our home but we will never return there. read more

Had an awful experience at this location that I have been meaning to review. My three month old son needed blood work and I was referred to this location. The two girls that drew his blood took it from his foot - the type of test required blood drawn from a vein. They should have known this, mistake number one. They were testing his ammonia levels and the blood needed to be separated and on ice immediately. I even reminded the girls this needed to be done (as instructed by the doctor). The next day I received a call that his ammonia levels were highly elevated - he needed to get tested again. So through my worry and anger I found out they DID NOT separate the blood and put it on ice immediately. Mistake two. They were overall very rude and made it seem like a problem I was there, not to mention they smelled of cigarettes. If you are looking to get blood work done, do not go to this location. I would recommend the center valley lab, they finished the job the way it should've been competed the first time. read more
