Apparently I went to a drive-in when I was young, but I definitely do not remember it. I've been wanting to go to one for a few years, so when some friends who live in Worcester suggested it, I was sold. We arrived somewhat early and found a perfect spot for Screen I. Our friends were smart enough to bring some camping chairs and games, so we set the chairs up next to the car and played a game or 2 while waiting for the first movie to start. We did treat ourselves to concessions - I don't know the price, as I didn't buy. I said it didn't taste like movie popcorn and my friend said "it tastes like what movie popcorn USED to taste like..." Which is sort of true! We couldn't get our car radio working, but luckily, the people behind us had theirs pretty loud. It was quieter than I would have liked and than what I am used to, but the sound was still fine and the picture quality was great. We didn't stay for the 2nd one, as it was getting late and we were getting cold. But 2 movies for $20/car?! We had 4 people, which means we saw 1 first-run movie for $5 each and could have seen a 2nd for no extra money? Can't beat that!! A few pieces of advice if you go: - Bring bug spray!! My friend did and we used it, but I still have some bites! - Bring chairs, sweatshirts and blankets/sleeping bags. We were there on a nice, warm day and it got pretty chilly. The pickup truck behind us had backed into the space and thrown pillows, blankets and sleeping bags into the bed of the truck. The kids were in PJs. I was jealous! - You can also bring dinner (we ate out first) and your own snacks. - If you're bringing kids, make sure you know the rating of the movie and make sure you go to the right screen! We went on a cold, cold, super cold rainy night...but I was as excited as a little kid. The nostalgia, the great audio/video quality, and the value can't be beat. I was happy to see a lot of hardcore folks out with their families, ensuring this outdoor format doesn't die just yet. Sooooooo rundown. Poorly run too. Yes it's cheap, yes kids have fun, yes you watch two movies. BUT they do not monitor what goes on. People take their car space and the two next to them. So it limits where other can situate themselves. People think this is their back yard, they are cooking, smoking, playing loud music, swearing, throwing balls, no consideration for other people. People park in the front then leave their back open so the ones in the back can't see. The bathrooms are horrific, the grounds are dirty and unkempt. They have three screens but only one is being used. The food is frozen and defrosted nothing special and over priced. It really would not take much to make this place great and family friendly. It's my understanding that the owners are quite elderly, maybe it's time to pass the baton down to others. read more

I really like this old dinosaur. I hope it's still around when my little one gets a little older so she can appreciate it too. With the death of the Lunenburg Drive-in this year, that only leaves three old 'true' dinosuar drive-ins in the state. One at Wellfleet, Leicester and Mendon. Mendon being the nicest however. The Leicester Drive In has three screens and is still only $20. I will be honest and say it needs some help, but the aura is fantastic, and I will continue to support his wonderful family oriented place. The Drive In is SO fun to go to. It's nice to see ones that are still open, but...there are a few things that should change. 1. Can there be rules about where the cars park? We had to move twice due to big SUVs pulling in the spot ahead of us....which we could still see over, UNTIL they opened their trunks to sit in. Then it blocked the screen. It would be nice if there were "rules" about larger cars being closer to the back. 2. The bathroom situation was ATROCIOUS. At least 3 stalls were unusable, and there was no toilet paper in any of the stalls. Luckily, a nice woman ahead of us had thought to bring tissues with her. She let everyone in line take some tissues. So sweet! The bathroom, though, was leaky, sticky, messy...all the bad things. Aside from that, the sound came in great, the movies were wonderful, and I can't wait to go back. read more

I really wanted to go this drive in to try for the 1st time but the customer service and the editing of their Facebook page needs to be worked on. The weekend of 6-22-18 only one screen was scheduled to be in operation . They had had two screens in operation with the second screen showing their definition of classic films. There is a third screen, but has operated yet for the 2018 season. So I asked two questions on their Face Book page. 1) Was an attempt made this weekend to obtain any films for screen two. The reason I was asking is the double feature would more likely than not sell out and customers would have to be turned away without having an alternative. 2) The snack bar hours on the web site says 6:30 to 9:30. The drive in's that I have visited stay open until the start of the second feature and in the summer sunset is late and the snack bar would be closing during the 1st feature. Are these hours correct? What was their response? Nothing. The comment was deleted off of Face Book and an attempt to send and e-mail that had my telephone number did not trigger a reply from the drive in. So until a response,an apology or a change in ownership is made I will not give this business my hard earned money. So disappointed in this place. I decided to take my kids to a drive in for the first time and thought it was going to be a fun night for them. But the movie wouldn't work and the manager was just nowhere to be found for the longest time with no one else to talk to or to do anything about it. Plus, only offering a pass to come back and refusing to give refunds? Are you kidding me?! Absolutely ridiculous!! I was even upset with this establishment before all of that even happened. Bathroom is disgusting. Cigarette butts everywhere and no soap right after you guys just opened for the weekend. Seriously?! My family and I had a great time here, but the projector was a tad blurry. The food was ok, but like people have been saying there wasn't many selections. I've been to the Leicester Drive In twice. Once in like 2002 and once two days ago. It's a nice place to visit. We showed up and the lady at the entrance was very nice and helpful helping us pick what we wanted to see. She even let us drive right up in the middle of the move to see the last half hour of The Bourne Ultimatum and then we just waited for Ratatouille to start. While Matt Damon was still up on the screen we went P and the best part about it was walking by the projection booth on the way to the bathroom. The dated but functioning concession stand would of been perfect, except they were out of Diet Coke and and the only candy they had was Starburst. I told the guy there he had a lousy candy selection. He kinda agreed and said something about it being the end of the season. No Jew Jew Bees, no Micheal and Ikes. I'd just finished dinner but I kinda still felt like getting some candy even though I wasn't hungry. We returned to our car with no candy and no diet coke, only two regular cokes. Ratatouille was great. But its a little dissapointing that there is a small hole in screen number 1. At Leicester there are 3 screens. I hope to return soon to see the Simpson's Movie on the BIG Screen as I've already seen it at a regular theartre. This place is tons a fun and its kept up pretty well. After looking at this place on an air photo it kinda looks as if Screen 3 has been added recently. The ground facing screen 3 looks fairly freshly turned up. And if it is true it kinda comes as a surprise to me. But if your on Route 9 in the Leicester area, definitely pull in. You wont be dissapointed. It's a lovely spot. Update....Just now I checked (after wrighting the review yesterday). Apparently screen number 3 and the viewing area was added in 2004. This place has so much potential. I have been going to the Leicester Drive in for year. This past weekend we went for the first time this season. Prices were $25.00 per car load, which was what it would have cost for us to go to a theatre so I was fine with the cost. The movies were great. The biggest issue I have is with the bathroom. When Families go to a drive in they bring kids. Why are the bathrooms so DISCUSTING!!! No toilet paper no paper towels, the floors are gross, 1/2 the toilets are out of order and that was even BEFORE the first movie started. For the $25 per car I would have expected Toilet paper and even if they don't want paper towels install hand dryers. The bathrooms have got to be a health violation seeing as the employees I am sure must use the bathroom while they are working the snack bar. read more

Thought it was a fine drive in. However, the food sold at the concession stand was really gross. I would think, since these sales are the bulk of their income that there would be some degree of quality. I didn't use the bathroom since I read the other scary reviews. No trash cans which I thought was really strange. So, if you bring your own food, it's a fun night. read more

The Leicester Drive In is one of the few drive ins still in existence and it is a classic. It has a great family atmosphere and there is plenty of room to play catch, bring your dog, or do whatever. I feel like I have truly been spoiled by living a town over from a drive in my entire life. It is a great spot for kids to go with their friends and hang out while watching a movie. There are three screens and the newest one was put in 2004. They have a great snack bar and they have several bathroom stalls (although those need a little work). I've always waited to see whether or not it would be able to stay in business but somehow it perseveres and stays alive. I would recommend this place to anyone. Of course, if you are smart, you want to bring bug spray. I wish the Leicester Drive In continued success in the future and I hope it is around for years to come. read more

Eaten alive by mosquitoes, overflowing trash cans, plentiful but dirty bathrooms and no paper towels. Movie started before dark, concession stand closes when movie starts(!) but was run down and outdated anyways. Food was ridiculously overpriced - $4 for bottled water and we were asked if we had butter added to popcorn and were then charged extra for it, handwritten sign says "no fountain drinks" and when someone asked for ice was told that they don't have an ice machine anymore because "it broke down all the time". No prices on anything. If you use the bathroom after dark you have to walk on uneven ground to get there in the dark, and once you round the corner the lights are too dim to even illuminate the signs on each door. So much could be done to clean up this place without even spending that much to do so. I've seen comments on yelp for years about the condition of the bathrooms, yet they never improve. I've overlooked many things here for years and supported their efforts regardless, but come on. A coat of paint on the bathrooms, soap and paper towels, repaired and adequate lighting and a working ice machine for fountain drinks in case you forgot to pack your cooler would be a great start. read more

I love the theater it's quaint and very pleasant I wish they would spend a little money to fix up the snack area and the bathrooms...I goto mending and the rustic and the food court area is so clean and I'm not afraid to make a purchase of food or snack when we goto the Leicester drive in we take our own snacks cause of the condition of the snack bar it could easily be a 5 star place but until the snack bars and bathrooms are fixed up I can't give it more than 3 for value, location and a nostalgic atmosphere read more

I tried this place out with my husband after the Lunenburg Tri-Town Drive-In closed. We loved the Lunenburg one so much and assumed the Leicester one would be similar. Unfortunately, it was a mob scene. You'd think this was the only activity for families in the Worcester area. I've had a more leisurely time trying to get concessions at a Red Sox game. Kids are running everywhere (in front of cars, on top of cars). On the plus side, if you're up for a double feature, you can't get a better deal. read more

We haven't been here in a few years but decided to try it again tonight since it's been so long. I don't know if we'll be back for anything other than it's closer than Mendon. Only 1 out of 3 screens was open. It is in need of repair so during the movie you can see all the broken spots, not to mention the overgrown of trees nearly blocking the bottom of it. The man working at the entrance didn't say a word to us, not a greeting or even a mumble of which station to turn to, he took our money and didn't make eye contact. The bathrooms were disgusting, dirty, only half the lights were working and nearly every toilet paper dispenser and soap dispenser weren't in working order. I didn't bother going into the snack bar after that. They started the movie before dark and closed the snack bar a few minutes after the movie started. 2 stars for value at $29/car but this place has gone way down hill. read more

Went here on 08Jun13. Had a great time with my 3 kids watching Epic under the stars. However, the bathrooms were completely nasty. There was no toilet paper, a bar of soap (disgusting at a public restroom) and no paper towels. Trash was piled up in the corner, the floor was wet with wadded up toilet paper everywhere. When I mentioned something to the young girl at the concessions she said it was not her responsibility. Not sure I would come back here. May have to drive to Milford next time. read more

Good place to see a movie with family or friends and not spend almost $100 like at the theater. Bathrooms are awful and dirty and it's best to bring your own snacks or you'll be disappointed that the popcorn does not taste like movie theater butter popcorn. You get what you pay for...couldn't see movie blurry and not fitted to screen..only a quarter of what they advertise on the website for food. place was dirty and bathroom was horrible with no toilet paper. After complaining and asking about the movie being unwatchable we got attitude from the woman saying she knew and that's how it is and the projector guy happened to be there and when we walked out he said the movie was 3D to the woman. Well their was no glasses and even if that was the case the movie was to dark. To top it off we drove an hour and they wouldn't refund but just give us a ticket for another night. read more
