Sitting in the service department is like being a walk-on for a Honey Boo Boo episode. The admins are total trash and loud.

Worst service department. Waited from 8-12:30pm (supposed to be 1-1.5 hrs tops for a fuel exhaust service) with only 1 update on my car. I had to visit the service person at his desk 5x for updates. All service is included in my lease but they still tried to con me into $450 each for new tires. Found the same exact tires at discount tire for $358 each. That's some markup. Who Knows when my car will be ready since all the workers are out back at a BBQ. read more

In the middle of a roadtrip, my car blipped the "minimum oil level" light. Leith was the nearest dealer, so I stopped by to buy a few quarts for the rest of the drive. Pulling into the service bay (in search of the parts area), I told the dude what was up. He had me flip through the iDrive to show him the oil level, and then said "how about rather than buying oil, I just top you up?" Uhh, yes please. I have free maintenance, but he didn't even check my eligibility. Just filled me up and I was on my way. This is the treatment everyone told me to expect when I bought my car, but BMW Manhattan has disappointed me every time. Random BMW dealer with southern hospitality? Thank you very much. read more

If you are in the market for a BMW, then you MUST reach out to David Malette. We stopped in on a Saturday and David just happened to be coming out of the door. He asked if he could help us and we said yes. He quickly found a vehicle for us to test drive. He then spent at least an hour (at closing time) just going over options, showing us colors, search for vehicles that they could get without ANY PRESSURE. We called him back later that week and had him find a vehicle for us. It was here earlier the next week. He had all the paperwork ready and it was an easy closing/delivery process. David is a great salesperson, but more important he is a good guy that seems to care about his clients. read more

It's a shame that this business still hasn't improved despite multiple poor reviews. Even with the reviews, we decided to look at a vehicle there. And everything was wonderful, until we disagreed with the sales team. Almost immediately a flip was switched and they were (and still aren't) interested in treating us like paying customers. Worst experience in my life. My BMW was consuming power when it was off and as a result, they handed me a unnecessary large bill after the service was completed due to the fact tat they initially replaced the alternator and FEM before replacing the part that was actually causing the problem! (the alternator and FEM were fine). Furthermore, they lied to me about the loaner cars they offer. First they informed me that they do NOT provide loaner cars and if I wanted one I should rent one from a rental car agency and my warranty would cover it. After telling me this on multiple occasions I found out that they do in fact provide loaner cars but apparently 'there weren't any left' (I doubt that). Anyway horrible experience overall and if you don't want them to change unnecessary parts in your car in order to be charged more DO NOT COME HERE. read more

I am, most happily, a new customer of this fantastic dealership! My adventure with this branch of the Leith dealership group began this past Friday afternoon. I was in search of an AWD vehicle as I'm planning to move to Chicago next Spring and my current lease was coming up on my current car next May. I went over to Subaru in Apex and had an amazingly insulting experience (you know the kind; single woman here, let's attempt to take her to the cleaners and see if we can get away with it?!). I'd previously noticed, in doing my research, that the lease deals at BMW were currently fantastic and that they offer free service for the first 4yrs/50K miles, so I made a call over to them. I was connected to Tyler Glasgow and began to vent on my terrible experience at Subaru, he politely listened and immediately offered to help. He asked if I'd driven the particular model I was thinking about and I told him I hadn't and I soon had an appointment for Saturday morning to drive the car. I arrived a bit early for my appointment and was met in the lot by Tyler who'd been anticipating my arrival. He quickly swept me into the dealership, notifying me that he had found the exact vehicle I wanted and it was in the carport ready and waiting for me to give it a test run. The rest of the visit was nothing but a complete pleasure! They offered me everything possible and we were able to get the deal done to my complete satisfaction right then and there and in a very timely manner. I only dealt with 3 people; Tyler, Mike and Colleen in finance and all interactions were efficient, warm and entirely pleasant. Now, how often can you say that about making a car deal?! I was treated with the utmost respect and now have a beautiful car that is nearly double the price of the Subaru I was looking at for $1300 less down and $30 less a month in payment then what they were quoting! So, do I HIGHLY recommend doing business with this dealership? ABSOLUTELY!!! If you are in the market and want to be handled in a respectful, warm and professional manner, these are your folks! We purchased a car directly from this dealership along with added warranties for maintenance. When it came time for the yearly inspection, we scheduled an appointment which included a complimentary alignment. We arrived in the morning for the appointment only to be told that they didn't have us scheduled. We presented the confirmation email and details but still waited 3 hours for the inspection and rotation. They charged $200 and also failed the inspection due to tint darkness. Even though we bought the car from them only a year ago and never altered the tint, they said that "tint darkens over time", which we know to be completely untrue. They did offer to remove the tint (of course) for an extra fee and appointment. The complimentary rotation was also, obviously, not complimentary. We spoke with the manager who offered to refund $93 because we have the warranty that covers alignments but that is not only unsatisfactory, it's ridiculous. Like I said, we pay extra every month on top of the car payment for extra warranties for the car and only go to BMW to get any work done. This incident has us truly feeling undervalued as customers. It honestly makes us think twice about being BMW customers for life. If we can help it, we will never go back to Leith BMW Parts & Service Department. We would also not recommend that anyone else take their cars there either. read more

I took my 2011 BMW 328i into Leith on 7/14/21 for a check engine light. Leith supposedly diagnosed the problem. I picked up my vehicle on 7/17/21. They claimed to have fixed the problem and charged me $1233 for repairs. They assured me they had fixed the problem. On 08/07/21, after driving my vehicle less than 200 miles the engine light came on again. I contacted Leith and they had me bring the car in. They conducted another "diagnosis" and quoted me $2700 worth of possible repairs but could not guaranteed that if I had those repairs done the engine light would stay off. When I declined the repairs, Leith charged me a $176 diagnostic charge despite, the fact that this problem was a continuation from the previous visit. On 08/23/21, I took my vehicle back to Leith. I asked Heather, the service advisor to have the problem diagnosed and give me an honest estimate. Leith performed $1737.13 worth of repairs. I picked up my car on the same date. The engine light came back on before I reached the stop light. I decided to go home and call Leith. When I called, I could not get in touch with the service department. I emailed the service manager and received an email a few days later that suggested that my problem occurred because of aftermarket parts. There were no aftermarkets parts on my vehicle, and I paid Leith over $3100 with the engine light still on. I feel as though I have been taken advantage of. It seems unfathomable to me that certified BMW "technicians" cannot accurately diagnose a check engine light in four tries and make repairs accordingly. read more

I've had several unfortunate experiences at Leith BMW but this past one has finally motivated me to leave a review. My car failed state inspection. When I asked what I needed to do to pass, I was told by Jermaine my car failed because the back tires were too worn and they would need to be replaced. I had this done and came back but was told the vehicle still failed and that more work needed to be done! I asked why I wasn't informed of this in the first place and was told that it was on the report given me. I asked if it was my responsibility as a customer to fact check everything they tell me and to interpret their technicians reports? Isn't that what their job is? No apology or explanation was offered. I was also told that the manager wasn't available to speak to because he was at lunch (at 3PM) and that I "might" get a call from him about my experience. I felt disrespected and taken advantage of by the employees I dealt with (Brittany and Jermaine). Had I known the extent of the work needed I would have sold the car rather than spend thousands of dollars just to pass an inspection. You would be better off going somewhere that pays more attention to detail and cares more about their customers. read more

If there is a zero star option, I will give a zero star to this dealership. The salesperson I encountered had racial prejudice toward me. He first questioned about my accent when I was trying to use the voice control function. Second, when I was trying to use sports mode, he questioned about my ability to drive. He literally said that he doesn't trust my ability to drive. I'm wondering if he thinks I'm a "bad" driver because I'm Asian. Third, when the salesman was trying to demonstrate the acceleration of a BMW 4 series, he suddenly speeded up to 150 miles per hour, which almost made an accident. I think people should drive with a clear mind. I will not suggest anyone work with this salesman. read more

I went here to get my first checkup for my car. The folks who checked me in were great and efficient. i was very sad when I was told it would take 2.5 hours to do the service and wash my car. It turned out to be about 2 hours but that is still a long time. I worked in their lounge but their internet was wacky to get connected and their IT department had to help get it working.... so that wasn't as easy as going to any coffee house sadly. They had a good selection of coffee, soda and snacks while I was waiting. read more

So, I guess the 750's were not made very well? Maybe the mechanic who just worked on my vehicle installed it incorrectly and realized it and now that is being covered up, in all likeliness that is probably what happened. read more

Service managers and customer service reps are very hypocritical. The service center is not very proactive in identifying potential issues. Requesting a loaner car delays your service appt by a month. Technicians does not do a through check on your car which often leads to critical issues being ignored. read more

Leith Service Experience Wanted to pass on my appreciation of Mark Aliano's handling of a tire issue I had on my 2016 BMW 550i. I came in this past Monday morning after arriving at RDU and picking up my car, when I noticed a low pressure tire alert (third time since vehicle purchased last October). I promptly drove to Leith, to see if I could get this resolved, never thinking I might have a nail in the tire. Mark was very patient with me, as I needed to get to another appointment, and he promptly addressed the issue. Turns out I had a nail and the tire needed to be replaced, fortunately I had a tire package. I was in and out within 90 minutes and able to make my appointment. Mark handled a frazzled customer very well and I really appreciated the quick response. I have purchased several BMW's from Leith and having this experienced confirmed why I choose to buy from Leith. read more

I took my new leased 530 for its first oil change. My service representative was Sean Brown. When I went to the desk to check the car in he walked up and said, "license and proof of insurance." Never a hello, good morning, my name is Sean or welcome. The appointment was from 10:00 am to 1pm. I dropped it off around 0930 am. Around 4pm I called to get an update since I haven't heard anything from my "service representative." He is not available and nobody else can seem to get the update for me. We finally get in touch around 430pm for my update. He never tells me that the service was complete. Instead, he tells me the driver's side wheels are out of alignment and he just received this information. I asked him why didn't someone call me earlier in the day to update me on the status or delay. He says, "I don't have a good answer for that." Never a sorry, never an offer to make this better... nothing. Last time I use any of the Leith dealerships and last time I lease a BMW. read more

My wife had a terrible service experience. She took her X3 to the dealership for general maintenance because she was under the impression that the service was still covered under the BMW warranty. She asked about the cost of tire rotation and the annual inspection as she knew they weren't covered items but wanted to have these services performed while the car was there. The advisor told my wife the price, and she proceeded with the work. When she went to pick up the X3, she received a bill for almost $1000. My wife was dismayed and asked for an explanation. The service advisor said the SUV was out of warranty and my wife should have been aware. The advisor did NOT tell my wife anything before the service was done. When she was going over the expense of the tire rotation and inspections, shouldn't the advisor have mentioned that nothing would be covered by the warranty? The X3 had just crossed the 50K mileage mark. I emailed the service manager after our experience and asked to discuss what happened. He never replied. I am very disappointment by this dealership. I had my car serviced at Leith BMW last week for a airbag recall because it is the closest dealership to us. I also had ordered a part replacement for my seat belt cover that had broken (literally, a 10 cent piece of plastic, for which I was charged $30.00.) I know these kinds of prices are to be expected for items associated with a BMW vehicle, so I "bit the bullet." Anyway, I asked if someone would install the piece, which slides in like an ash tray, while I was waiting. (I had just had a manicure and my nails weren't fully cured!) I was told that I would be charged for all services. *I guess that is why they did not vacuum or wash my car, either. I was shocked when services were completed and my car had not be washed or vacuumed. Never before have I taken my car to a dealership where work was completed and my vehicle returned unwashed and not vacuumed, including previous services at Leith! Nevertheless, this was not done. Both my husband and I drive BMW's and his had been purchased from Leith. We will both be going back to Chapel Hill BMW (where I purchased my BMW) for future services, as there has now been two other recalls on my car last week. My husband was especially angry when I came home and asked him to install the piece. He said it literally took him longer to climb in the back seat than to install the cover. RIDICULOUS! read more

I bought my 328 from Leith as a Certified Pre-Owned model. The purchasing experience was good, I think the price paid for the car was fair considering the extended warranties and free maintenance for 100k miles. Definitely the most fun to drive car I have ever owned and has been very reliable. The service department is the best run operation I have seen at any dealership, ever. When I drive up in the service entrance, there is someone to immediately greet me and get the information from my car. The service adviser I work with is always friendly, and most importantly, the maintenance work gets done quickly and correctly. They are very accurate in estimating the amount of time needed to complete the job, makes it easy for me to schedule a service visit into my workday. The service department also provide loaners (reservation usually needed) if I can't wait while the work is being done. The last time I was there, they even washed and vacuumed my car for me! Great dealership all around, would recommend without reservation. read more

I cannot say enough positive things about Mike Abramson at Leith BMW. I was referred to him by a friend who has bought six or more cars from Mike. After meeting him, I knew why he was recommended. From the moment I walked in the door, Mike made everything simple, hassle-free and treated me with superb customer service. This was my first BMW purchase and buying a BMW has always been a dream of mine. Mike made realizing that dream even sweeter. He took meticulous care of every detail on the car making sure that I received a vehicle I perfect condition. He also explained all of the features, functions and warranties in a way that was very clear and understandable. Additionally he is very responsive to texts, calls or emails and treats customers like royalty in very down to earth and friendly manner. Mike's follow-up after the sale has been tremendous as well. I had to schedule service and he provided me with a loaner car and texted me to keep me updated frequently. I was very impressed by his willingness to provide extraordinary service even after the sale. The dealership experience is very nice as well. This is the worst BMW dealer I have been to in the states. I lived in three different states and I owned two BMW cars, currently driving my third, I always had a great service over BMW dealers & services. This particular dealer "Leith BMW" has terrible service. The service department can careless whether you have a safe driving car, when I mentioned that my car was make strange sound and not performing as normal, I was told that I need to pinpoint the exact problem because they wouldn't be able to guess what the problem is, this was a face to face conversation. I was shocked and my response was strict and bold - you have all the tools and gadgets to troubleshoot this "ultimate driving machine" and you're asking me for diagnosis. I escalated the case to the management team which was worthless. These guys are unprofessional and incompetent when it comes to car service. I'm taking my car to a different dealer. I know dealerships typically charge more but Leith BMW is out of control. Their quote for an oil change, Brake Flush, and alignment were more than double that of a competitor. I can't understand why people go there. Not to mention last time I went they forgot to reset my on board computer so my car kept saying I needed a oil change when I had just got it down. Obviously they just passed the cost of their new building onto their customers. Very disappointed in this kind of business practice. Make sure you shop around before doing any non-warranty repairs here. read more

Why can't I give Zero stars? We have been going to Leith BMW for service for the past year. The service adviser has repeatedly insulted and spoken in rude and/or condescending language to us. They repeatedly insisted that there were no problems with the car when we drop it off for service, until we demonstrated them in person. They replaced the LEFT taillight when there was an issue with RIGHT. Now, we called to request service under the warranty only to have them delay for weeks. In the interim the allotted warranty mileage was surpassed. Leith refuses to honor the warranty that was in place at the time of the service request. This is not the kind of treatment I expected from BMW. I would be ashamed to associated with this company. I certainly would not recommend engaging in business with them. There is an alternative BMW location in Chapel Hill. read more

I saw an ad for a 07 Accord, and after being passed aaround, to several salesmen, and a subsequent email to management, I finally decided to go where I felt 'respected' as a car buyer, and am sad to say, I will NOT be doing business with Leith again! Service Dept. Came to Leith BMW service department for an issue ( vibration in the engine bay). First visit was under the warranty and they said they fixed the issue ( moving ignition coils around ). After one month, another issue sprung that involved the ignition coils, but this time my warranty had expired( this was my second visit with Leith) . At the end of the "diagnostic fee" of them plugging in to the OBD computer, Leith charged me $280 to, again, switch around the ignition coils. This is also after the service attendant stated that he will "help me out" ( I should have learned my lesson then) . I contacted the service attendant again and explained the issue, he stated that they will, again, "take care of me". Although that sounded very intriguing, I did not want to pay any more free money to Leith. I decided to take matter in my own hands. After consulting with a local mechanic's shop ( one that deals only with BMWs), I found the Issue. Who knew that a vehicle that is near the 100K mark would require NEW SPARK PLUGS, DUHH. I assumed that the technicians checks your spark plugs when they take $125 dollars for a diagnostic fee. I solved the issue of the rattling engine by buying a $25 book on BMW maintenance and $100 quality spark plugs. Thanks for nothing Leith. read more
