I had the misfortune of sending my BMW X5 to First Class Auto to repair a cracked valve cover. The first valve cover they installed was apparently defective from BMW so they ordered another one. When I got home, the car was still leaking a significant amount of oil and the engine was performing poorly (a new problem based on their work). I sent it back and they said the oil level sender was leaking. At that point I told them I wanted someone else to evaluate it. Performance BMW determined the valve cover was still the source of the leak, plus the poor engine performance was due to oil in the vacuum lines. Performance BMW replaced the vacuum lines and valve cover and now it runs great. So far this sequence of frustrating events has cost me double what it should have! read more

I went (back) to First Class when a wobble developed in the front end of my 2009 Honda Fit. I went in noting I knew I needed tires and an oil change, but the wobble only occurred during acceleration. Chris and Co. found the problem, confirmed the issue was in the CV axles. They communicate details and are up front about what is safety vs. Ideal maintenance allowed me to pick and choose what services to do this time. The ability to get a loaner and have your car detailed when you pick it up make First Class stand apart. If you want to feel like you're getting a deal and you only look at the dollars for that, go somewhere else. Definitely the best auto service I have received in Raleigh, and some of the best I've had in general. I went in specifically to have new tires put on as well as an alignment, but I knew there were a couple of other things going on as well - as it turns out, they found an oil leak I wouldn't have caught otherwise. I definitely felt like I received honest service and never felt like I was being sold anything I didn't ask for. I recently started bringing my Mercedes E350 here since being referred by a tow truck driver. The first time I brought it, they did a whole review of the car and let me know what problems were necessary and what could become problems in the future. Then I ended up getting a flat and brought it back here. They were able to get two tires in that day and replace the tires and do a rebalance. 1st Class performed multipoint inspection, regular maintenance, Tire rotate and balance, and State Inspection. Staff is friendly and provides clear explanation of work done and recommendations. I appreciate that they present the facts from the inspection and don't push for adding services when not needed or can reasonably be delayed. I've used them for both autos that we own (one import and one domestic) and plan to continue using them. read more

Steering linkage and stabizer bars repaired on old (2007) Lexus SUV. This car is still a dream to drive, but has geriatric problems due to high miles.
