Updating my review as I found a huge scratch on my dashboard and scratches oin the paint on the door, shortly after purchasing the vehicle which were either put on by the dealership being grossly inconsiderate with the car or the shippers doing the same Unfortunately I found these after owning the car for a couple of weeks so I couldn't expect them to acknowledge fault, I hadnt driven it during that time due to having to leave the country, but I was the only person in the car and no one had been in the passenger side. After dropping off my vehicle, I received no communication on Monday regarding the status of my appointment or whether the vehicle had even been evaluated. On Tuesday, after placing two calls to the service department, I was finally able to speak with Jermaine, who advised that he was looking at the vehicle. Again, I received no further updates that day. By Wednesday, I had to call once more to inquire about the status of my vehicle because I still had not received any proactive communication. read more

I took my 3 Series there for the State Inspections and a tire rotation. After two and a half hours I began bugging them where is my car. They brought it you and said they did not rotate the tires and that the tire are worn to the wear marks/ bumps. So it took them two and a half hour to just tell me the tires were bad. Not only were they the lowest, but the most courteous. Barry and Mark are very knowledgeable about The Ultimate Driving Machine. They both assisted us in our purchases. Yes BMW is more expensive to upkeep. It is a high end, fine tuned Machine. That is why I lease them. Barry and Mark have been selling us all our BMW's here. No pressure, no smoke n mirrors. Without question, this is the most horrible service experience I've ever had in my years as a BMW owner. Not only did they keep my car for five days, but then called me back the morning that I was supposed to pick my car up and tell me that they destroyed the fuel door on the side of my car as they were driving it. The end result was another day without my car. All in 7 days to do a simple service. $3,400 and at no point did they ever consult my service agreement that I purchased when I bought the car - they did not do the basic process of finding out what was already covered instead of choosing to charge me for things that did not need to be done. Everything. I purchased my 2020 X3new from Leith and the good thing I could say about them was my sales person was excellent. Service dept doesn't care about your vehicle or you. Also the waiting room for service doesn't even have enough seating. My last 3 cars were Lexus and Leith should take notes on how customers are treated at the service dept and the waiting room. I sent my 19-year-old daughter to get her Bmw inspected for the safety inspection required by the state. She had to drop it off, it took six hours for them to call her to tell her it can be picked up. They failed it because of a burnt out tail light and they were going to charge $140. I said F no, bring it home. I replaced the burnt out taillight for five dollars and literally less than three minutes. I don't know what this dealership is doing, but that service department is horrible and must take advantage of females who don't know any better. I don't get it. I've had a BMW now for about four years and continue to frequent the service center here at this location. Unfortunately, the service portion has gone down over the years. Not so more of the imp person experience but the over the phone experience I'm not sure what is happening, but it's definitely not what it used to be. I called today to get pricing for an oil change and coolant flush, the lady was not pleasant at all. Mind you we're spending premium dollars with this service center. The least you could do is have some type of excitement in her voice. Unfortunately, it was a mundane experience and she was not pleasant to chat with at all. She asked me a series of five different questions, place me on hold for two minutes and then came back and told me that she had, no space and cannot do oil change from my vehicle on today. OK great. Why did she need to know how many miles I had, why does she need to know all the ins and outs of the car when all she had to do was go ask to see if there was space to fit me in first. I went and jumped on Yelp and found a Jiffy Lube that was 10 minutes away from BMW leaf and the guy was so pleasant. He's only charging $10 to add coolant. His oil change is only 40 bucks. That's a total of $50. With Leith BMW service I probably was getting ready to spend somewhere over 200 bucks with shot service.I think I'm going to find a new mechanic moving forward read more

I had a very disappointing experience with Leith BMW. I bought a 2015 BMW x3 from them. It was new when I bought it. The only people who have ever driven it are my husband and me. I took it to Leith for all the required maintenances and took very good care of the car. None of that matters because at 80,000 miles, the transmission DIED. We like to buy a good car and drive it to about 150,000. This car is now worthless. They quoted a MIN of $10,000 to replace the transmission. read more

Just purchased my 2nd car from Leith BMW and I will tell you it's one of the only dealerships I will do business with In this area. First Car was a special order M4 and more recently o purchased a 2019 X3 for my wife. Both transactions were fair and smooth transactions. You can count on this dealer to avoid the typical used car scams we see at many dealers. I am not the typical consumer as I try to be highly vigilant to scams and markups. My sales advisor Ales is very pleasant, kind and respectful. He is very understanding of your needs and budget and can help you and your family source the perfect BMW or one of the variety of other pre owned makes they may have in stock. Bottom line is ask for Ales and you will get a great sales experience every time. My experience with Leith BMW was very unpleasant. I would never plan a future purchase with them. I recently traveled 400 miles to purchase a pre-owned M8 from this dealer, and then drove back home 400 miles. When I left the dealer upon purchase, I may have traveled 10 miles and the brakes started to make a loud obnoxious noise, the sound you get when brakes are required on a car. I unfortunately could not take the car back to the dealer as they had closed for the day. I drove like that all the way home and then I took the car to my local dealer the very next day. I took a road test with the shop Forman who told me that the brakes were done but rotors were original and not replaced thus making the loud sound I am hearing. The dealer told me that BMW will not cover the brakes as they have good tread life but if I wanted to replace the rotors I would have to pay out of pocket to get it replaced, roughly $3500 as I could not use the existing brakes but would need brand new rotors and brakes redone on the car. I called Leith BMW on Friday morning and finally spoke to a higher manager named-Mark explaining this process and that since one week of purchase my car had been to the local BMW dealer twice already. I thought that since the car was just a few days old from my purchase they would will be willing to fix the issue. Instead Mark, the manager of Leith BMW told me that I am out of luck, there is nothing they could do for me. I would never purchase a pre owned car from this dealer. RUN from this dealership. Worst experience I've ever had, would give zero stars if I could. For those who know, BMW works closely with a company called Dinan/Carbahn for approved modifications. Brought my F80 M3 in, and asked if they were qualified to do the warranty service the vehicle required. They were not, instead of suggesting the BMW Dealer 10 miles away who is qualified, Sean, the service advisor, gave a vague answer of non-dealership services in the area who don't do warranty work, implying Leith was the only option in a petty money grab. They kept my M3 for over 3 weeks, didn't reply to messages asking for updates, and finally called 24 days later to tell me they did nothing but void my warranty and leave the car under a dirty tree for nearly a month. On top of that, the loaner they gave me was disgusting, it looked like it had never been cleaned. It had 6200 miles on it, and 6200 miles of dirt on the interior. The leather was white originally, but a dark gray when given to me. I cleaned the interior so I didn't have to sit in others filth. Check out the photo below, where I cleaned the seat myself - you can see the stark contrast between the section I cleaned and the gray, built up filth over the rest of the seat. Overall, this couldn't have been worse, ended up going to another BMW dealer in the area(Durham), who did an incredible job on the car - literally the best experience I ever had at a dealership. Lady at the parts department is a unique level of rudeness, uncivilized unapologetically rude and proud of it, such people belong at a swamp rather a dealership. I have been a customer of leith BMW For about 10 years. I have had some mixed experiences, but mostly good. However, today I got a rare opportunity to face a scenario that uncovered the honesty of the service department. I bought a car for a different BMW dealership about 35 days ago, this car needed an oil change so I took to leith, where I was told it also needs an In cabin microfiber filter. The problem is that I then discovered it was replaced by the previous dealership before selling the car. Even if it was thought the car is due for a filter change, once it was out, it would have been obvious it was brand new and not in need of change. I called back to my service adviser, I will not name her here, but her indifference attitude about my complaint is worse. At this point I am questioning how many things I paid for in the past 10 years that I did not need to. I am now forced to take my cars elsewhere and going forward I will not recommend Leith BMW to anyone. read more

Negative stars would be more like it. I purchased my BMW in Florida from an excellent award-winning dealership. Leith BMW Service is so bad, it is almost unbelievable. After the junior Service Advisor, Jarred refused to call me back, I emailed the Service manager and have not heard back from him. My vehicle has less than 15K miles on it and needs a new visor. He tried to tell me the visor was my fault, it was not. Then he told me that it would take a week to get the part and never called me back. It wasn't driving right, so they charged me for an alignment. The problem that has not been found is causing a 6000 pound vehicle to drive like a boat. Even so, they don't return phone calls. The only other dealership I've ever had an issue with was 10 years ago and it was a Leith Dealership. I can clearly see why there are so many BMW's in Florida and only a few in NC. Run from this dealership. At least I didn't make the mistake of buying a car from them. All the negative reviews are warranted. read more

About a week ago, I wrote a 1 star review due to my frustrations with the customer service at this dealership. However, I deleted it and am now posting a new review because the supervisor, Kelly did his best to resolve my concerns in a timely manner. Supervisors can not always have control over their staffing so I appreciate his willingness to help me out despite when I was being negative. It takes a lot for someone to do that. This review isn't 5 stars because I still did not appreciate my past experience but I'm glad they were able to improve. So one note to take into consideration. The lady that always answers the phone is great at her job along with the lady that is always outside ready to first process you in. I felt so bad for her standing in that heat but she still had a smile on her face. So with that being said , the majority of the staff in person are good with customer service but on the phone, not so much... There also appears to be some miscommunication that could improve but that's like with every dealership. Hope this helps. read more

I simply dropped the car off for the tpms to be fixed. First I had to buy a new tire because I had something in a tire . Ok cool, I would have liked to see that whatever was in the tire was actually deep enough to require a replacement. That's ok though , they had to order a part from Germany so I waited a couple weeks and finally dropped it back off. When i was ready to pick the vehicle up they lost my valve covers (which management replaced for free) and before leaving the lot I noticed a crack in my windshield that wasn't there when I dropped it off. They said oh yeah we will fix that it's obvious that it's fresh. I assumed they meant replacing the windshield but they did not . Instead they had "someone" seal the spot and whomever did that damaged my hood in the process bc now there is a big streak right above where the crack is on my window. Pictures speak volumes so I'm just going to post what I am speaking of. So now at this point I need a new windshield and someone needs to fix the scratch the window ppl made on my car. read more

UPDATE 2/8/2018 Beware Leith BMW Does Not Like Negative YELP Reviews. I could not pickup my car until the next afternoon (the review was posted last night). When I went to pickup my car I was immediately confronted about making a negative review, I was forced to listen to the Service Writer lecture me for 5-10 minutes about how I don't know what I am talking about, unless you are certified BMW you cannot have an opinion. I told him I wasn't going to stand here all day and argue, he then stated it wasn't an argument because my opinion didn't matter. He then droned on about the car bing 5 years old with 36K on it and the software was old. (if this issue has been around why wasn't my car updated during its 4 year of included maintenance). Lets be clear they didn't replace any parts only updated the software that was causing the car to claim the engine malfunctioned (and then reduced the car to driving under 35MPH) so effectively making the car un drivable. In the day an age of VW that cheats emissions and iPhones reduce CPU when the battery is 2 years old and BMW dealers that talk down to you and resent being reviewed. Brought my BMW 2013 X1 because of a "engine malfunction" performance reduced. After taking to a a non dealer the code was that a software update was required to fix the bug that caused the malfunction. So the software bug causes the reduced performance, Leith charged me again to get the same code to do a software update and are charging 2 hours of labor to do the update (bill was 448.00) Sounds a lot like the iPhone battery performance reduction. The software bug causes the engine performance to be reduced unless you pay 400.00 for the dealer to spent 10 minutes to update the software version. read more
