I recently traded my car at Leith and was pleased to have a female salesperson who worked tirelessly to get the right deal for me.

I do not recommend using their service shop. We bought our car there with the add-on service package. Of the 3 of my last 5 visits, we've had to wait 2+ hours for SCHEDULED SERVICE. My most recent visit, I made the appointment for tire rotation and fluid change. I booked the appointment (indicating I would wait at the dealership while the service is completed) online through the Toyota app 2 weeks ago. The day before the appointment, I received notification about my upcoming appointment, in the form of an automated phone call, email, and text. Today, I show up at 8:45 for a 9:00 appointment. The gentleman who checked in just before me was unscheduled maintenance repair. Needless to say, he was able to get his repair done and left maybe 30 to 40 minutes later. When I showed up, I was greeted by customer service representative (CSR) who let me know they were backed up 2 hours (I would recommend the service shop start calling clients morning of and advising the client there is a wait of 2 hours. I drive 45 minutes to get there only to find out about the 2 hours wait even though I have an appointment. This would have given me the option to reschedule the appointment for another day). I informed the CSR I would wait inside while the service was complete. 2 1/2 hours later, I decided to walk around the dealership. I saw my car outside the bay with 4 vehicles ahead of it. I went back in and asked the CSR for my vehicle. He advised me it was being worked on. I informed him that it wasn't even in the bay yet. The CSR retrieved my car. I understand things in life happen, but to have it happen with the amount of frequency at the same business and to which I paid money up front for is just unacceptable, not to mention the loss of my time, the cost of my gas (120 miles round trip) for a service I will now have done elsewhere. ‼Do not waste your time ‼ I found a car online at their dealership, offered to buy it and ship it to me because I lived 2 hours away. They told me to just make an appointment to come and test drive it. I did and I stayed in constant communication. I arrived early and they sold it to someone as I was walking in. They said "sorry , we had a miscommunication ". They offered me nothing! They clearly need new management. Horrible customer service. read more

We were struggling to find what we wanted in a used car. Hadn't worked with Leith Toyota before, but decided to try them when we saw one that piqued our interest. Jackie Barrios worked with us all day while we drove, pinched, prodded and researched it to make sure it was the car we wanted. She was patient, knowledgeable and really went out of her way to make sure it was in perfect condition to drive off the lot. I took my RAV4 2025 to the Leith Toyota because it was having trouble starting and I had to jump-start it a couple of times. They told me everything was fine and simply advised me to make sure I wasn't leaving any lights on (which I never do). A few days later, the car left me stranded in a parking lot and had to be jump-started again. I then took it to a different Toyota dealership, where they tested the battery and confirmed that it actually needed to be replaced. We love our new 2025 RAV4. The sale rep (Michael) was good, but not a 5-Star. He was polite, pleasant, and communicative. Although I'm certain he was doing his job, the back and forth with him, his manager, and use was less than believable and borderline lacking full disclosure or transparency (IMO). It was end-of-month so I'm guessing Michael was trying to squeeze in as many customers/sales as he could. Consequently, we felt somewhat rushed on day of delivery. We didn't feel we received the quality time we deserved when explaining the vehicles equipment or programing of systems. Hoping the service dept. shines as the need(s) occurs. read more

This is a zero star review. Mechanics at Leith caused damage to my engine and have refused to repair it. Leith mechanics had my car for 4 days and did somthing to it during their "testing" to cause the engine to overheat. They never diagnosed the original problem I came in with but CREATED a NEW ONE. I drove my car into their dump but had to have it TOWED out!! Horrible people!!! BEWARE DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO LEITH TOYOTA. THEY MADE MY CAR UNDRIVEABLE AND WILL DO THE SAME THING TO YOURS. I went to get touch-up paint from the dealership and he gave me 2 different bottles, the one said 202 and the other said 218. I applied the paint. It stood out. I looked it up. The correct paint should've been 218 and 218BC. Now it's fucked and they're closed tomorrow and I need to call off work to be able to see them on monday and try to get them to give me the right paint. And now the spot will be even bigger. Honestly this would be a zero star, if it were available. First, I purchased a 2023 RAV4 Limited Ed. I love the car, but Leith has made it very difficult to even remain within not only the Toyota family but the Leith family as well. Since owning my car, the NAV system has not worked. I can be driving down the road and the icon will be 2 miles away, in the ocean, off on some side road, wanting me to make a turn that does not exist, wrong turns, wrong direction turns and more. I was told my car was not connecting correctly and it needed updating, well no fix there. I was told it was my phone, so I replaced my phone, well no fix there. I was told Toyota was aware of the issue and a fix is being worked on, called Toyota, well no fix is in the works. I Googled and found it to be very common in the 23's because the computer system is new. So, now that I have a 2-year-old car I still have a NAV issue. AND, if that wasn't enough, I have to have the entire transmission replaced because of the transaxle and differentials, something about it not shifting correctly. As I drive it makes a horrible grinding noise. Because of this I will be without a car for 2 days, maybe 3, Leith Toyota DOES NOT have loaner cars, instead they will simply uber you home and back to the dealership. This is the worst of the worst. I'M DONE! I have called corp Toyota and filed a complaint and told them about all the problems and all I'm told is someone will call me in 3-5 days. Not good enough Leigh! read more

Customer Service is excellent only if you're buying new. Loyalty means nothing at this place now. I last bought a brand new vehicle in January 2025. I previously purchased two other new cars and one used truck from this location. The sales contact was Mark. Great guy buying new, terrible buying used. It showed for the final time today. I contacted Mark after the other salesperson (Maria), with whom I purchased my new vehicle, didn't get back with me after I said I wanted another vehicle. I called Mark, and we went over some needs. I guess that his complete assumption that I had negative equity in my trade-in vehicle, which I just bought at Chevy in January, wasn't worth his call back. My truck was worth $29,700, and I owed $28,000 on the vehicle. Long story short, I called Mark numerous times for another used vehicle, and he didn't return calls; he stated he would, and I ended up finding another NEW car (would have been a 4th new vehicle for me from Leith), which I call loyalty from MY end. I scheduled an appointment with Hendrick Toyota. Mark stated, "It was a busy day with customers," as if I wasn't a customer, and never had the decency and courtesy actually to apologize. And quite frankly, he cared less that I was going to view a vehicle elsewhere. It shows they are good with new purchases, but not worth the energy used. They LOST a great customer. So, I will add to these awful reviews because they are clearly valid. Good riddance, bud! read more

SERVICE DEPARTMENT IS HORRENDOUS We have had the absolute worst experience EVER with the service department and I have asked to speak to a higher up but can't get anyone. We just got a pre owned certified 2023 Highlander in September, had it serviced right before Christmas for routine maintenance. No issues. Check engine light comes on 12/20 saying "secondary brake maintenance" so I go back to Toyota immediately and have the car evaluated. Service guy says it's a bad valve and they will order it and it should arrive Monday. Monday passes, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, etc. no call about the part. So we call back Tuesday this week and they say oh yeah the part is here we can do the repair 1/3 at 9:30 am. Ian rolls up to the service department yesterday around 8:30-9, guy comes out and gets his name and puts a number on the car and says "I'll get Garreth." Well, 20 min goes by and no Garreth so Ian leaves the car with the keys in it and number on it (he already checked in) and heads to work. A couple hours go by and no calls so Ian calls the dealership and is told he can leave a message for Garreth which he does. More time goes by, no calls, Ian calls again, second message left with Garreth. No calls back. Ian calls again, third message left. At 5pm I call and ask for Garreth, am told I can leave a message on his voicemail which I refuse and explain the situation and the fact we have had no updates on our car and it was a simple repair. At 6:30pm we call AGAIN! This is attempt 5 to reach Garreth. At this point we are told the service department is closed and will open at 7am Saturday. It's Saturday 1/4. Ian called at 7 am and is once again told "I can transfer you to Garrett's voicemail." He explains the issue again about not getting any updates but still no one gets on the phone. He calls again at 8:30 am and gets the same response. Still no person in service able to speak to us. I call at 9am and refuse to hang up until Garreth comes to the phone. I asked for any manager and apparently there are no managers on staff on Saturday. WTF. I'm on hold for 36 minutes until Ian calls me and says Garreth just called him back. And guess what yall? THEY HAVENT EVEN FIXED THE CAR!!!! We are seriously considering selling the car now just to avoid dealing with this dealership. I feel an ABC11 WTVD reporter could unearth some more horror stories like this one. Update Saturday 1/4 at 10:11 am - they are just now starting the repair on the car that was scheduled for 9:30 yesterday. 7 phone calls with no call back and 24 hours after the appt. Went in to look at The 2024 Land Cruiser and was threatened to have RPD called on me by an employee. "THERE'S A BLACK MAN TRESPASSING ON THE LOT" After leaving the Ford dealership, I decided to head to Leith Toyota to look at the Land Cruiser. There was non up front so I drove to the back lot which has No gate, No sign, No barrier or anything that states private property or trespassing or even "employees only." So as I am looking at the Land Cruiser, a man in a white Tacome pulls up. He asks me do I work for Toyota and at which I clarify that I do not. He then proceeds to tell me to get off the property, that he saw me grab the door handle (Yes, I did try to open one) and that he would be calling RPD for trespassing. He caught me off guard because like I stated, there is no sign stating that potential car buyers are not allowed to be there. Also, at no point did he whip out a badge and say I'm Leith Security. By the way, dealerships are closed in Wake County on Sundays and a lot of Families go out to look at cars then so that they aren't bothered by salesman and women. The situation escalated as he decides to park his truck and watch me. He then drives back up and to make his point gets on the phone and say "THERE IS A BLACK MALE TRESPASSING ON THE LOT." I was so angry I couldn't gather my thoughts. I left and came back to speak with a manager. I spoke with Alan Broughton, GSM for the store thinking maybe he would understand how ridiculous the situation was but needles to say, he's the reason I'm writing this novel. Alan confirmed that I was in the clear to be where I was but failed to understand that his employee was out of line. There was no promise to talk to the employee and to make sure it never occurs again. He may have said twenty words to me, much of which was his name and have a good day. I live about 5 mins from the Leith in Wendell/Knightdale and would service my 22 King Ranch and 23 Raptor trucks there but I've had a change of heart; I think I'm going to just drive into Raleigh or Wake Forest. My parents have purchased 3 new vehicles from Leith (2, 4 Runners and Sienna) but I think that drive to Apex is worth it now. My wife currently owns a 22 GLE 450 purchased new at Leith and my mom owns a 2019 GLS purchase new at Leith. And to think, I brought them there in 2021 when they bought there last 4 runner. Toyota of Apex doesn't seems to bee a better option now especially since I bought my 2019 Camry from Apex and my wife bought her 2020 Highlander from Apex. Moral of the story is, "if you are shopping at LEITH TOYOTA of Raleigh, DO NOT TOUCH THE DOOR HANDLE OR TRY TO OPEN THE DOOR, They might just call they police for trespassing." I'm Black and I didn't want to include that but I feel that Alan and his Security need a course on sales/customer relation and de-escalation. At no point did Alan say, "I'm sorry for you experience this morning, I wish it never happened!" Maybe something like, "we'll make sure you don't have this kind of experience again ." Nothing!!! Just a blank stare from Alan. You guys have a great day! Don't forget about those 103K Tundras that are coming back to you. Good luck selling them! I brought my daughters car in knowing it had an Electronic Parking Brake Failure message and informed the tech. I'd replaced all her brakes a day earlier and somehow tripped the sensor. I asked that after they clear the message could they also do an NC state inspection, and he quoted about $100. Clearly Toyota doesn't want normal people fixing the cars they purchase, as even the local tire shop, where I also bought four tires a day earlier couldn't clear the error (the vehicle wasn't even in their computer, 2018 Toyota CHR). It seems that no normal computer can reset this warning. After two hours of waiting I checked back in, note I had booked an appointment so my visit wasn't a surprise, I was alerted to the fact that the locking clip for the connector to the electronic parking brake was in fact broke off on the housing. This is a small fragile plastic clip molded into the housing. I was told that every time the brakes were applied this electrical connector was pushed off and hence the failure. Well I silently called Bullshit on that claim because there was no way pressing on a brake pedal pops off a simple two prong electrical connector. I admitted that perhaps it broke off when I reinserted the connector, I hadn't noticed. The fix, replace the whole housing the locking clip is molded into. Price for the part, just over $900! Service to install the housing, a tad over $200 so the cost of a broken clip nearly $1,200 after taxes, oh and the dealer didn't even stock their own part. It would be a day or two to get a replacement. This is insane! Oh, my bill was $108 for the diagnostic and failed inspection, I was livid, but what can you do, I had to pay. I drove the vehicle home, disconnected the battery, strategically applied five nylon zip ties, making sure none contacted metal, and reconnected the battery. Error code cleared, took it out for a test drive, set and removed electronic parking brake several times, once on a steep hill in neutral and everything was back to normal. I'm sure the zip ties are stronger than that fragile little clip on the $900 housing. Frankly though, I'm disappointed in Toyota for making something so fragile, I'm not a big beefy guy, and this was the FIRST time these rear brakes were ever changed. This electrical connector MUST be removed so one can apply a 9V battery to the connector in the housing to retract the cylinder in the caliper to create the necessary addition space required for new brake pads. Knowing this will need to be removed at least a half dozen times during the life of the vehicle these clips should be metal, or replaceable. $900 to fix a design flaw is inexcusable. read more

Wow, a new car, and I they tell me there is a fee for evaluation of $120+ until they are sure it's covered by warranty. No one answers the phone half the time don't answer the phone, or return messages. If I have a problem they say, bring it in, without possibility helping me by answering a question. Bought my wife's car here and it came with free oil changes and car washes for life. So it was taken in to get the oil change and she decided to go ahead and have it inspected while it was in there. Needless to say it failed for bald tires, needing new brakes on the front and rotors turned, and two license plate lights were out. They wanted $1200+ for the same tire that was on there which was just for 3 tires because the 4th was a dollar. Their cheapest set for that car was $800+ for the 3 plus the 4th for the dollar. Then there was the brakes and license plate light which said would cost over $500 for that to be done. So after hearing all this I told her to pick up the car and I'll find a better deal on tires and do the brakes and lights myself. She goes to pick up the car and she was given a bill for $35 and some change. Ok I live in Granville county and they only require a safety inspection which is only $13.60. I told my wife that they can not charge the extra for the window tint scan because that only applies to aftermarket window tinting and that car has factory tinting when we bought it from them. So they take off the $10 for that but still over charged her for the inspection by almost another $10. So I fix my wife's car and get a great set of Goodyear assurance all season tires on her car for under $500 and the brakes with new rotors and LED license plate lights cost me $150 to do myself. Got it inspected at a Ronnie whites in Youngsville for the $13.60 and took it back to Leith Toyota to see where that extra charge was for the inspection. I know they still have to charge for the inspection but they can't by law over charge. They refused to reimburse me the over charge until I called them out on braking the law and that they can't test my windows unless they are done aftermarket. One week later I got a check for the entire amount because they know they messed up and someone called them out on it. I use to get my other cars done there because of the free oil changes and they tried that with me every time and I'd fight them every time. I will be submitting this to the state for fraudulent dealings. I will not purchase another car from there and will not have anything to do with this crooked dealership. I have bought my last 5 cars from them and will never again. I will keep spreading the word to keep as much business from them as I possibly can. Support the smaller dealerships in the surrounding smaller towns that would love your business and give you a better deal on your car you are buying and a better value on your trade in. Don't believe me? Try it and see. You can to it all online, you'll thank me later. Oh and the car wash is always not working or so they say but all they do is run water over it. The car looks much worse after them running it through. She's probably had 4 car washes through them and she has almost 110,000 on her car which means they haven't washed it probably 10 other times she's brought it in. ---------------------------- THE MORE YOU KNOW!! Only after factory tint is tested not factory tinted windows!! Don't get sucked into paying for this if you have factory tint, they are breaking the law and should be reported, fined and lose their license to inspect cars. read more

I recently took my Toyota Prius in to have a combination meter replaced. When I received my car back they had busted my air vents and didn't bother to tell me or fix it. Tyler said they can't fix it, I will have to call Toyota. They also quoted me $584 for my total and then charged me $740 when picking up the vehicle. I Salesman was Phillip Johnson and his vehicle knowledge, attention to detail and down right polite nature made the experience much more pleasant than we had expected. The finance team was easy to work with as well as were the folks in the parts department? (we bought some goodies for the Rav4) I'm only giving 4 stars however because Eric who we closed the deal with was rude, pushy and downright insulting. He was the epitome of a sleazy car salesman. Earlier in December we placed deposit of $1000 on a 2019 Prius LE in Tide Pool Pearl at Leith Toyota (8005 Capital Blvd Raleigh NC 27616) and were told it would arrive on 12/19/18... it didn't, even though we had the VIN to the vehicle we put the deposit on, it never arrived. The lack of communication and effort is astounding, no one returned calls, the person we would need to speak to was out of the office every time. Then we were told the manager was gone til after Christmas. My husband located multiple dealerships with the vehicle we wanted, but any attempt to have leith reach out and get the vehicle to their locations was futile. NO ONE at the dealership could tell us when or even IF it would arrive. We kept being told we would be called back in 10min to an hour only for no call back.. Now they're refunding the deposit... We originally went to Leith Toyota because we had a friend a long time ago with the last name of Leith and we liked him a lot so we felt we should at least check it out. They were the first dealer we went to and even though we went to several other dealers, we went back because of the EXCEPTIONAL customer service we received. Boy did we make the right choice!! Our salesman Mark Prawdzik was super friendly and outgoing during the entire process, he made sure we were comfortable and fully content with our purchase. We also were fortunate enough to work with the managers Tim, and Alan. They truly bent over backwards to help us and we literally went back because of their superior service. We were so surprised at how professional and amazing everyone was, we felt like we were staying in a 5 star hotel, that is how great they were in handling our purchase. Furthermore, Soloman Dunston was the gentleman we worked with in Finance and he was incredibly quick, and very professional. I will definitely be sending many people to this dealership and highly recommend anyone go there for your future car purchases. THEY NEVER CALL YOU BACK! I was buying this car with my son who just moved to NC.We thought this car deal would be the easiest deal ever since we did all the shopping and pricing over the phone. The internet sales department gave us a quote including a college discount and I was told that it was ONLY valid if we paid cash when we came to get the car. We thought it was a good price, so we said we would be there over the weekend to get the car. I actually flew to NC with a check to pay for the car the next day. I tried to reach the internet salesperson to make sure the car was still there and to say we would be there the next day to buy the car. She didn't call back. I called in the morning we were coming in to say we were coming in - no phone call. Since she couldn't be reached, we got assigned to showroom salesperson. He knew about the quote and it was the same one she gave me through my e-mail. It turned out the quote was wrong and it couldn't be honored unless we financed the car! Then we spent several hours in the dealership between the salesperson and the finance department making us apply for financing for a deal that should have been cash. And we had to pay financing charges. Frankly it was the salesperson's mistake and they should have honored the quote. In hindsight, we should have taken the quote to another dealership, but we had already invested lots of time and wanted to pick up the car. Although both my son and me have excellent credit and enough income to get the car, for some reason Toyota could finalize the finance that day. Instead, we had to sign the financing papers AND write another check to the dealership "just in case the deal didn't go through". The finance guy, Eric, was sure the financing would be approved but he needed to have a check just in case. When the financing was approved, he promised to let us know and rip up the check. AND this is the MOST FRUSTRATING PART - We didn't not hear from Eric from the dealership ever again! Since they were holding an $8,000 check of mine - I really wanted to know the status of it . I called at the end of the first week to see if had gone through - no phone call back. I called at the beginning and end of the next week to check - no phone call back. I also tried to call the salesperson to see if he knew - no phone call either. After leaving another message, leaving my e-mail (for a quick response) and trying to reach someone else in the department to get a response - it was clear that know one would be calling me to tell me where my check was! I cancelled the check through my bank. So here is the lesson - the dealership didn't care that their quote was wrong, wouldn't honor the written quote they gave me AND if when they say they will call you back - don't believe it. Recently purchased a 2020 Toyota Camry SE here. Our salesman Diaz was very friendly and professional, as was the sales manager Tim Grissom whom we spoke to over the phone. I walked out with the new car at the initially negotiated price - what they promise you is what you get. Overall, the experience was pleasant and straight-forward, the facilities were nice, and everyone was friendly. Even though their location is a bit farther away from us and there are multiple Toyota dealers in the area, in retrospect we felt the commute was well worth it. read more

Yuck. What happened to Leith Toyota since 2014? This is a review of the "sales department," and does not reflect their adequate service department. When I go into a dealership I expect two things- for them to work with me, and, above all, great customer service. Quick background: I've purchased vehicles at this same location since 2010-and up through 2014. For some reason their new philosophy is: THEY are doing you a favor. Seriously? The sales team could all do with some customer service training, or a retreat, to deal with customers. read more

This review it for the service department. Two weeks after I purchased my vehicle here the bluetooth was still not working so I called to make a service appointment. Upon arriving I spoke with the service agent Jonathan Lloyd who told me it was likely a software update issue and that it would take about an hour and it was not covered under my service agreement even though I had just purchased the car. After an hour of waiting, Jonathan came back out to tell me the update was half way completed and it would be about 30 more mins. After waiting 90 more minutes and no communication or sight of Jonathan I went into the service office to ask what the status was and if Jonathan was still there somewhere. Another service went to track him down and when Jonathan came out he told me that I actually needed a whole new radio system but that they couldn't do it that day because my service warranty hadn't started yet it takes 30 business days from the date of purchase. He proceeded to tell me "he wouldn't charge me for anything that day" and to come back after the 30 day date. I am frustrated as I would hope there wouldn't be a charge after waiting almost 4 hours, with no communication as to what was going on with my vehicle and nothing being resolved. Very rude and discourteous "service". Complete waste of time. I trust in the Toyota brand and its reputation but it has NO connection to the unprofessional management staff working here. Wouldn't refer anyone Leith Toyota for any reason, not even service if the car buying experience is this horrible. How can a business "lose" your application and personal information and act nonchalant about it???! Worst car buying experience by far. Perhaps the other Toyota dealerships have their stuff together, but this was plain sad. Went to a local competitor, saved about $4K, and got the color I wanted in less time. read more
