[[HIGHLIGHT]]I am so incredibly disappointed in my experience at Leith Honda.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I hate to give a 1 star review, but I do believe that is an accurate representation of my experience with them. I had such high hopes because my family have been lifelong Honda owners. I came to them with an issue of my ACC and LKAS not working. They diagnosed it as an issue with the multipurpose camera - $1600 part + $500 labor. Not ideal but I wanted ACC back. So I ordered the part and have it installed. The day I go pick it up, the same lights on my dashboard that were lit up are now flashing. Come to find out, the camera doesn't work properly on aftermarket windshields. (I bought this car used 5 years ago, so I was not aware of the aftermarket glass.) The windshield is an additional $1500 plus additional fees for recalibration. [[HIGHLIGHT]]None of this was communicated to me by the tech, nor when I was buying the part, nor before I went to pick up the car.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had to advocate for myself that not only does the part not work, the situation is now worse than it was before. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Trying to get Honda to take care of the problem was then an additional hurdle.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I kept asking why if this was a known potential issue, why was it not communicated to me. They could not really answer that for me. They did end up refunding me for the labor of putting the faulty part in, which is genuinely the least they could do. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I want to commend the person I worked with, Tim, who went above and beyond to try to help me and remedy the situation but I understand that he can only really do so much for me in his position.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Honestly, there is not many other places you can go other than the dealership when the issue is this Honda specific, so I would just say be wary of this place. Maybe consider other dealerships if there are a few near you. read more

My car got fixed. That's the good part. However, their service advisors or whoever helps you with service for your car could use some help. They are at best, just there to get paid. Dropped my car off at 7 am for one recall fix, with a seat sensor for an airbag. It's 2 pm and they haven't even started working on it. Things have certainly deteriorated since my last visit one year ago.I brought my car in at 7:45 am on a Thursday, having made an appointment 3 weeks prior. When I came to pick the car up at 4:00 it had yet to be looked at. I asked for the Service Managerer who provided me a loaner car, which allowed me to drive home. I still needed to make the 40-mile round trip the next day to pick up my car. 10 minutes after leaving the dealership, the low tire alarm went off on my car. They also did not reset the oil change light, which necessitated me calling the dealership to find out how to address both issues. I will be driving home on recalibrated tire pressure, and hopefully, the tire pressure sensors will correctly function. This leaves me wondering if they did the 30,000 mole service correctly. read more

!!BEWARE!! of the unknown "diagnostic fee" that they push on you to even take your car back for anything other than routine maintenance. $230.35 after taxes and fees. Also note that this is an hourly rate. They do mention that you do not pay that cost if the tech cannot find the problem (but realistically how often does a certified tech not find the problem??). This is highway robbery. Take your issues elsewhere. Also my car is less than 2 years old (2021 Accord) and when I asked about warranty coverage if there was an identified issue, I was told that since I don't pay for the extended warranty I would probably be out of luck. Terrible Service, BEWARE!!. Go to any Honda besides this one. I came here because my new HONDA civic 2022 was having road noise, that I knew was from the tires. As I checked my car in the man that was explaining the fees mumbled a diagnostics fee and handed me a paper to sign. This interaction was VERY SNEAKY. After asking him to repeat himself I learned a diagnostic fee was $185. Absolutely Ridiculous. After speaking to the supervisor Carrie she said that this would not be charged if this was covered under warranty which my car is currently covered. And she said if they couldn't find anything that it would not be charged either. The tech said it was because of cupping of the tires which were given to me by the dealership. So how would I have been responsibile for this?. They were RUDE and still said I needed to be charged this HIGH FEE for driving my car up the road and lifting it. As if that was much work. Really - today I brought my car in for an oil change. The appointment of which I had to make a week in advance was for one of the first spots at 7:00 am. Getting to the dealership by 6:50 there must have been 35+ cars in front of me. I refuse to wait over one hour for an oil change!!!! Why make an appointment when it seems everyone had an appointment for 7:00 am it seems. So I went to Valvoline off of South Main in Wake Forest- drove in at 7:15 am and was out by 7:30am . Low score is because the people who were in the background when I called were laughing at my situation. Update: service still sucks. You can wait hours for an oil change. Staff is rude. Service Department Review I had an appointment scheduled for 12/28/2023 at 10:30am. I dropped the car off at 8am and got a message confirming who my service writer was. I had to get a ride from a coworker to work. Wife called at 2pm and they stated they had gotten it in the shop yet but was planning on having it done by 3pm. My wife picked me up from work and took me to the dealership for our vehicle to still not be completed at 4:30pm. *Never ever buy extended warranty's, ding and dent insurance or wheel insurance. *Never buy the Gap Insurance! These items will keep the value of your car under water and are very hard to get redeemed. My car was totaled 2 years into a 6 year loan. The offending driver's insurance, Geico, paid off the estimated value of my car. The difference from what is owed was exactly the cost of the remaining 4 years of the unamortized amount of the extra warranty's, add ons and Gap Insurance, sold to me by the finance department. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Now 6 weeks later, the excess amount the insurance company didn't cover remains unpaid and Honda Finance is chasing me for a payment.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If I make another payment, Gap will not have anything to pay. My brand new Honda 2022 Ridgeline has a defective infotainment screen and Leith Honda and Honda corp refuse to stand by their product and their warranty. This is NOT a cleaning issue. "Outside" influence is vague reason for not standing behind their warranty or product. Buyers beware. The infotainment device is unable to withstand even the slightest of cleaning. Visited this Honda location twice in the past few months - oil change and new spark plugs, respectively. I think Honda is trying to improve their customer service. I arrived on time for my appointment, 7:15 am, and was immediately greeted by a "Honda greeter". He was very friendly, got me checked in, and let me know the service advisor who I typically worked with, Ryan, was no longer employee at Honda, but he found me a new service advisor right away. I knew I'd have a decent wait - spark plugs, alignment and oil change today. I brought a book and waited. I did receive a text while waiting stating it was my service advisor and if I needed anything, feel free to text him. I actually had thought of another small item to take care of while there, texted him, never received an answer. Next thing I know, my car is ready - about 2 hours in. I mentioned the text to the advisor, he apologized profusely and said that sometimes, the app they use doesn't work. It was honestly not a big deal, the item I wanted dealt with had to be ordered anyway. Overall, I feel as though I get a good value for my money. I always use the "10% off cars over 100K miles" coupon that comes with my service bills. Spent just about $480 today. Side note - if I were to review the actual sales department, not a good review! Told them we were thinking of getting a newer Honda, had cash and were ready to buy THAT DAY. Said we were running to lunch, if sales person could round up some newer Honda models for us. He never called. Could have sold a car that day. Cash buyer. Lost out! read more

Apparently no one at this Honda dealership knows how to close a sunroof on a 2012 Honda Civic... I came in because my sunroof was stuck open and it was going to rain very badly that night. I Paid for the diagnostics which cost $165 and I received an estimate on the cost and was told just to close my sunroof would cost around $1800. This was for a new sunroof motor, cables, and labor costs. They apparently could not even close my sunroof. I only got a temporary sticky plastic covering that didn't even last 24 hours! The plastic covering was not put on tight enough and blew off while driving my wife to work the next morning during the rainstorm i mentioned earlier. My car got soaking wet and I had to call out of work that day. I went back to the Dealership later that day after it stopped raining to get another plastic covering because the previous one was not put on good enough. I asked for additional layers of the plastic so it would be stronger and last longer. What I received was just 1 more piece of sticky plastic to cover the hole that I had to put on the car myself!!! They would not give me additional layers like I requested, and only One person helped me put the plastic on my car. The technicians made me fix the problem myself in which I did a better job than the previous ones because at least this covering lasted until I could take my car for a 2nd opinion at another repair place 5 days later. The price I was quoted to fix my car at the Honda Dealership was more than 10 times the price I paid to get it completely working and fixed at another repair place. Honda said I needed a new sunroof motor and cables which I did not need at all. The worst part is that the Honda Dealership couldn't (or wouldn't) even close the sunroof without the repairs they suggested. I went to another repair shop in Raleigh and they completely fixed the sunroof in less than an hour for only the cost of the diagnostics and labor for 1 hour. The sunroof did not need a new motor or cables. All it needed was for the sunroof system to reset because it got out of sync. Something that the Honda Dealership should have been able to fix with their eyes closed! The Honda Dealership was trying to charge me more than 10 times the price I paid to completely fix it at another repair place. The service department tried to scam me and steal my money! This is completely unacceptable! I will never come back to this dealership ever again and I will make sure all of my friends and family know that the service department will steal your money and scam you for unnecessary repairs or they will not work on your car at all. read more

While the employees are very friendly, the place overcharges by A LOT. Leith told me that my Honda Accord needed about $6000 (!) worth of repairs -- $1400 of which needed to be made immediately. I figured I might as well just buy a different car. This brings me to my next point ... I went to a mom and pop mechanic who came recommended by our neighbor. There were some fixes that needed to be made (certainly not the laundry list they rolled out), and he charged ***$450*** to fix them. He explained that he used to work at a car dealer and your job is part car servicing, part salesman. The goal is to get you to pay for the dealer's overpriced services or -- even better -- trade the car in and get a different one. Plus, the service guys get commission, so you're even more motivated. Anyway, it was a great lesson to never go to the dealer to have your car inspected or fixed. read more

This business towed said we didn't pay our bill for a leased Honda and when they came to get the one they said we didn't pay for they came and got the other one for no reason, at the beginning of the pandemic. Yes, I'm following up on my review from 4 years ago about... the same issue. But here's some info you should look out for if you own a Honda with a warranty. Now, I'm not directing all of my criticism of my experience to anyone in particular, more directly at Honda, but management could have intervened, had they chosen to. Had they, this wouldn't have even appeared. This last experience was an education as to how Honda deals with that warranty they have.... read on.... So, back in February 2018 I had to replace the battery. No warranty coverage as it had just expired. Cost - $148. Warranty - 5 years, (apparently last 2 are pro-rated - you find this out AFTER you need to make a claim!). So, here we are, 4 years later, and this second battery fails. Come in they say, it's under warranty. Yeah, it's prorated. So, Honda will pay 50%. 50% of a new one. PLUS charge you labor to install it. Wait, it gets better. So, I pay my ... $130 for the NEW battery, and the warranty of THIS battery is... go on.. guess! Yes, you're absolutely right, it's ... 12 months! The remainder of the warranty of the one bought 4 years ago, even though I'm paying almost as much as I did of the one that just failed. SHOCKED? SURPRISED?? Yeah, me too. The new battery is a 5 year battery, but Honda will not stand behind it for more than a year because, well, they chose not to. It's their policy. They only extend the warranty for the remaining period. If I had paid the $200 + install for a NEW battery, I'd be back to a 5 year warranty (3 year full) for the very same battery that's already installed. Did you follow along? Manager explained.... If you have a 3 year drive train warranty and your gearbox fails, Honda will replace it. But warranty that replacement? No. Not any more then the original it replaced. 1 day left on your warranty? New gearbox. Honda warranty on new gearbox, 1 day. The only difference, you don't pay labor on the gearbox install, but you do for the battery. Because there is some fine print somewhere. As for the management - they had the discretion to waive the labor cost (we are talking around $30-40) on this WARRANTY battery replacement, but chose it better to do what's right for Honda/Leith, and not the customer. Bearing in mind they had just quoted and I was going to have our 100,000 mile service done here, they'd rather take $40 than me return and spend $2,000+ (including tires). They sent a VERY strong message to me, and I thought you should see this too. Honda's warranty is overall flawed, if you really need it, and the management will not do anything to soften the blow of the issue. This was the second new vehicle I've bought from them. It will be my last. I've serviced with them. No more. I will take my business elsewhere, and I may just re-examine the manufactures out there, because this "Warranty" is not what you expect. Don't believe me? Ask them. Like most things, you never know, until you need it. Then it's a little late to realize what they are doing. read more

The employees at Leith Honda like to use the phrase, "We want to earn your business!", but don't really bother doing anything to keep it. I do not recommend buying a vehicle here and do not intend to do business with them again. I made the mistake of purchasing a vehicle here at the end of October. The first night, we noticed some strange sounds when turning out of our neighborhood, so I decided to take it to a mechanic to get checked out as soon as I could. A couple days after purchasing it, one of the headlight bulbs died, so I set the appointment to get it replaced and have the sound checked out. Within a week of purchase, the battery also completely died on me and I also had to have that replaced. At the mechanic, they replaced the bulb, but discovered an issue with the axle and an oil leak in the cam canister. I reached out to Leith Honda that same day to discuss the options under the 30-day warranty and I recieved a text message. But no responded or reached out to me after that. I directly emailed the sales rep I had worked with instead. He called me back later that evening (a Tuesday) and he said he would talk to his manager and call me back Wednesday. He didn't. I emailed him Friday morning to follow up and he called me during my lunch break. He stated that Leith Honda wouldn't repair the issues with the axle or the oil leak because they didn't make a lot of money off the sale, but they would do a trade-in. I asked what would be the value/dollar amount given for the car (since I wouldn't accept any less than I have already paid for the car). He said he would ask someone and called me back. Asked what kind of cars I am interested in. Again, he never called back. I followed up AGAIN and asked for a written response. I asked him to outline for me in their warranty policy where it says they don't have to cover these issues because they "didn't make a lot of money off the sale". Never heard anything. At this point, it's evident to me that they have no intentions of helping resolve this. The rep keeps calling instead of emailing me back so there's no record of the crap answers they're giving me. I would not want to trade-in with them because I honestly don't trust that they would even sell me a reliable car. Their sorry service and lack of responsiveness is a total joke.
