So disappointed, we have been taking our 6 cats there for years over ten years. Once it went corporate it just went so impersonal and made us wait hours everytime just to see the actual vet. They used the same excuse the last three time they made us wait 2 hours that and emergency patient came in. Meanwhile we hear them laughing in the back room and no new patients came in. They tack up the bill before the vet even sees your pets. Sadly I had to leave them and not looking back. Quality over convenience. I can't be lied to and the. Trust that person with my fur babies lives. They don't even bother answering the phones anymore - just tell us to go in the computer to contact them. Such a shame. read more

Been going to Leland for over 20 years and 2 dogs. The previous owner recently sold her practice and the prices have gone up while the quality of the services have gone way down. Very corporate feeling now. Services that used to be included are now recommended, for a fee of coarse. For example, you now have to get your own heartworm sample and then make an extra trip back to the clinic. Never had to do that before. My dog had joint surgery last year, and needed a refill on the drug Gabapentin, a common drug for dogs. I called 3 times to get a prescription emailed to me so I could fill the prescription from Chewy's website, for half the price. The receptionist assured me each time the vet would take care of it. Needless to say, I never received it. Instead, I had to drive over there to get it, so they could try to get me to buy it from them. Time to find a new vet, which is a shame. Stay far away. read more

Unfortunately, on 3/26/25, I had to choose end of life care for my 3 year old Bernadoodle Baxter. He was hit by a car and suffered significant damage to hips and legs. The staff at Leland was so warm and understanding. They made my pup so comfortable. The room designated for the transition featured candles and music. They made a very sad transactional event a moment to remember. I rescued him from a puppy mill. Leland was his first vet visit. They treated him for parasites and being under weight. Dr. Ray and I believe Emily were wonderful. I can't recommend them enough. read more

My 12 year old dog has been under the care of this facility with the previous owner and now the new ones. My dog has congestive heart failure and cushings. They have provided the meds and helped her through the initial heart failure. It is near the end and difficult and I just wanted guidance as to how to ease the breathing. They told me to take her to emergency care because they couldn't monitor her. I didn't want her monitored; she wants to be with her family. I just wanted guidance through the situation. I am not going an hour back to my previous vet and hour away, he is compassionate about animals. I have been with this facility close to five years. Wow! read more

We've been using this clinic for over 25 years. Recently, we couldn't get a timely appointment for a sick pet. We were given a slot 3 days later, but when we arrived we were 10 minutes late. We were told in no uncertain terms that we would have to reschedule, despite letting the clinic staff know how sick our pet was. That night we were forced to take our baby to the emergency clinic where he was diagnosed with acute pneumonia. He was hospitalized for 5 days. We feel the need to find a new veterinary practice to care for our large family now. It's amazing how quickly a business can disrespect and dismiss long-time patients in today's work environment. Having a vet super close to your new home is awesome, but after moving to the area from out-of-state, my husband and I were dreading finding a new vet for our pup and most recently, a new abandoned stray we took in, that needed all his shots and neutering. I called to schedule an appointment for my dog as a new client - a neighbor referred me to Leland Veterinary Clinic. The receptionist was very rude and dismissive. I had hoped that day was an off day for her. When I went for my appointment, that receptionist (not sure if it was the same one) was equally rude and dismissive. The rest of my experience here was overshadowed by my experience at the front desk and on the phone. I would proceed with caution if you're looking to make this your new veterinary hospital. Just called to get two bravecto pills for my cats, but they were like yea we need to see your pets for it's check up. since they haven't seen them in a while just trying to make me spend more money and I was like I would've been brought them in if there was anything wrong with them but they still declined so no help thanks to them. We just moved to the area about a week ago and haven't established a regular vet yet. Well our 4lb chihuahua took a leap of faith out of my arms yesterday and ended up popping her shoulder out of its socket, and they are 4 mins from our house so we decided to go see them on a hope and a prayer that they could get us in. They were booked up, but they went and asked the doctor if we could be seen anyway and they got us in! Everyone was so comforting, and sweet and they handled our gal with gentleness (She's a classic scardy chihuahua). Not to mention the space is beautiful and comforting as well. Lots of natural light and natural wood--you get a sense that you will be taken care of instantly. We will definitely be making these guys our regular vet. read more

I have been a client of Leland Veterinary Clinic for the past 4 years. I called the other day to schedule an appointment for my 3 dogs and one cat (regular vaccines). I spoke with Bri at the front desk, and asked her for a price on a feline leukemia test. Bri said "she did not have access to that information" and suggested I leave a voice message for one of the Dr's and they would get back with me. I explained it wasn't urgent to have the pricing, and asked if she could find out and give me a call back the next day. Bri was frustrated and repeated herself saying "I can transfer you to the Dr's voicemail and you can leave a message, and when I declined, she hung up on me!!!! I was in total disbelief and called back asking Bri to please transfer me to Dr. Greenfield's voicemail. I did speak with Dr. Greenfield the next day and explained my frustration regarding the conversation I had with Bri. Unfortunately Dr. Greenfield was not empathetic of the situation and basically said I'm sorry you and Bri had poor communication and gave me the price of the leukemia test. I asked to have the owner Dr. Carreker call me, but I never did hear from her. I retrieved all of my animals medical information/records this morning as I will not be returning. read more

Leland is family for me being my vet for fourteen years. They've finally have their own office down the street from their old location, and old strip plaza. It was for the best moving to a bigger and updated space. The building is built craftsman style with plenty of parking space. No more finding space competing with neighboring businesses. Staff is wonderful and so welcoming, you walk in and is greeted by staff. The reception area is large, with a cooler so you can get water or make a cup of Joe as you wait. My vet is Dr. Carreker, a fellow Mabletian (if that's a word) , she's great and been there to see about all three of my dogs over the years. When my dog of 17 years, Bill had to be put to sleep , they surprised me when they sent flowers. That says a lot about them. Only thing I miss is seeing Joey, the residential senior cat who greeted everybody in the front. He's still there just not in the waiting room. Just a reminder they close on the last Saturday of each month for maintenance. Love them :) Outside of that I'm happy to see Leland grow. I will continue to go there with my other dogs and recommend them to other pet owners. read more

I cannot say enough positive things about the Leland Veterinary Clinic. They were there for me when my 19 year old cat passed over the rainbow bridge. It was an extremely hard experience BUT Dr Carreker and staff were superb. Top notch compassion, understanding, and empathy from the moment I walked in the door. They earned my loyalty and I only take my other two cats to see Dr. Carreker. I pass several other vets to get to them and gladly make the extra drive because a caring staff, especially in the most urgent times (when your pet is extremely sick) means the world to me and my babies. I Have been coming here for over 35 years.. My baby had a large mass on her neck.. We treated w/ meds but nothing more could be done.. When it was her time on a Saturday morning i called to have her put to sleep.. They denied to see her & told me to take her to the ER... I know leland isn't an emergency hospital but i have never in 3 decades had an issue w/ this place putting animals down or just caring for them.. Dr Carreker would have never turned an animal that needed to be put to sleep away.. This new Dr Navarra did deny my baby the dignity she deserved being put to sleep in a place she was comfortable going to.. Never will i step foot here ever again.. Again, 35+ years of wonderful care, down the drain w/ this new Dr who clearly doesn't care.. Mind you she saw my baby 8 days b4 putting her to sleep & she said they could do it when the time comes.. I had to take her to Blue Pearl hospital on Howell Mill Rd where they actually gave a damn & was shocked my Vet wouldn't do it.. My baby was terrified at the end because she didn't know this new place.. Shame on Leland Vet, never again.. read more

I really wanted to like Leland. I really did. I took my cat in to them because she'd quit eating. Understand that I am on a fixed income, which I was open about when speaking to the vet who saw my cat. I can always skip a few meals, but I have to have enough money to pay my bills and rent. The vet immediately told me it was my cat's kidney's failing (my cat is just now three years old, and was healthy as a horse) and ordered a bunch of bloodwork done. I paid for the bloodwork because I believed the vet was right - I am not a vet, obviously. Well it came back perfectly normal. They had no idea why she wasn't eating, why she refused wet food, the whole nine yards. I finally saw a different vet, and she looked in her mouth. She had a cracked tooth that needed to come out. I wound up begging the money from a friend so I could get my cat taken care of because I'd already spent close to $300 on bloodwork and I don't remember what else, and I didn't have the $240 for the tooth extraction. Some time goes by, and I take my cat in again for shots and routine check-up. Because I have a fixed income, I had to budget for this and asked upfront how much it was going to be. I was told an amount under $80 for everything. My cat gets her shots, everything looks good, and I go to pay. My bill is $120. I'm stunned and I think understandably upset about this, because I was told what it was going to be upfront and now it's $40 more. Well of course I paid it, what else was I going to do? I, against my better judgment, took my cat back one more time because I thought she had ear mites. The vet checked her ears, no mites. Said she had a bad ear infection, and gave me antibiotic drops for her ears. This was another close to $100 visit. The drops made her ears worse. She clawed them bloody three days into treatment and was yowling in pain. I called them up - they expected me to bring her back for a shot and different antibiotics that were going to cost an additional $50. I had already told them they blew my budget this month, and I couldn't afford anything else. I said no thanks, and turned to a few cat forums. Turns out she had a yeast infection in her ears, I ordered some Zymox, and that cleared it right up. Twice they misdiagnosed my baby. And they lied about what my bill was going to be. But that isn't the end of the story I'm afraid. Today I took my cat to a new clinic. I didn't want to take her back to Leland after my experiences with them. She was having issues with her mouth, with eating, and food seeming to get caught that caused her to have awful breath. The vet I saw today at a new clinic was nice, and showed me the reason why my cat is having trouble with her mouth. The extraction that Leland supposedly did, that I and my friend paid for? They left a piece of her tooth! I was shown this piece of a tooth today! Now I don't know about you people out there, but I will never take another animal to this clinic nor will I recommend them to any friends. read more

The whole staff here is great. We have two dogs and have had very good experiences with every visit and every need, from routine checks and shots to surgery and emergency problems. They are prompt and timely, friendly and caring. Also, the building is always clean and smells fresh, which is hard to do for a vet's office! read more

Found no cars in the parking lot except employees. Took my kitty in and they refused to see him. I asked if they wouldn't even just LOOK at him and they said no. We love Leland vet clinic. We started going there with our very old dog with arthritis when we moved into the area. They were so sweet to our dog and took excellent care of here. Eventually we had to put her to sleep (she was 15). They were so sympathetic and even sent us a flower afterwards. We recently adopted a puppy from Cobb County Animal Control and called Leland Veterinary Clinic for her to have an initial checkup. They were able to make us an appointment the next day (Friday) and gave our puppy her initial shots and got her on medication for hookworms. On Monday, our dog started throwing up and I called the clinic to express my concern. Despite it being the end of the day, they were able to get me in within 30 minutes of my call and diagnosed our puppy with parvo. Dr. Greenfield and all of the staff were so kind and supportive and got us started on treatment. When we had to go in for more medicine and fluids the next day, we saw Dr. Carreker for the first time. Despite not having seen our puppy before, Dr. Carreker and the vet assistant both knew details of what was going on - they even knew which injection had upset our puppy the day before. They also made a call to the shelter to let them know about a parvo outbreak. It is clear that all of the staff at Leland Veterinary Clinic truly care about their patients. They went above and beyond to accommodate our sick puppy. I fully credit their fast action for saving our sweet girl. They have followed up with phone calls and made me feel incredibly supported. It's clear that the staff communicates amongst themselves to ensure truly personalized care. I am so grateful for them and would highly recommend bringing your furry family members here. read more

Sadly after a few years with this clinic I am parting ways. On 31 July 2018, I had my cats blood tested. I called the clinic on 7 July 2018 to get results. I was told the results were not available, but I could also tell the person who took the call did not look at the record and basically did not care. I asked the person who answered the phone to please ask somebody else. I was told "the doctor will call you when the results are ready". I stated that was odd because the last time my cats blood was tested, it took 3 days. I was told it could take 10 days, and they just wanted me off the phone. I had to call again after 11 days on 11 July 2018 to get the results. I did get a call back on 12 July 2018 and I was told that someone left a message on 2 August 2018 with the results. However, the is no inbound call from the doctor or message on my phone and my number has not changed. I followed up with the clinic to express my concerns today about this communication issue and the fact the person who took my call on 7 August just was not interested, gave me the wrong information and just wanted off the phone. It was meet with apathy by the staff. I am not spending a great deal of money for apathy, I just want the results to understand what I need to do for my cat in a timely manner. read more

We take our dogs to them and they are wonderful!! The staff is great and always quick service verses a doctors office like us humans have to go to. we adopted a Great Pyrenees from the Cobb county animal shelter which was injured. His foot was cut almost to the bone and was infected. They took wonderful care of Chewie and got him back in tip top shape. Dr. Greenfield is a great vet and awesome to my fur babies. Melissa is the best ever in life. I have gone to dermatology . Homeopathic ... spent thousands and she has helped my fur baby more than anyone. She is caring , listens , and takes charge !!!!!! My Louis has had skin problems for years now. She has been the only one to help. She and her staff are the most caring and wonderful team. We have been taking our pets to Leland Veterinary Clinic for 18 years now. Drs Carreker and Greenfield are very professional and caring at the same time. The support staff there is top notch. They relocated to a brand new facility last year (2015) and it is by far the nicest veterinary facility I've ever been in. There are different exam rooms for dogs and cats, and there is also a groomer on site, if you're in need of those services. read more

I brought my dog in because she had a rash. The veterinary technician asked if I also wanted my pup to have a physical examination or if we just wanted to address the rash that day. She had just weighed my dog, showing that she had lost a pound. I said that if the vet thought that my dog looked underweight then I would like an exam, otherwise I would just like to address the rash. The first thing the vet says upon entering the room is that my dog is the perfect weight for her breed and begins to examine her rash, so I assumed an exam was not given. I was charged a hefty $101 for the visit, which was just an insect bite, but was not given a breakdown of the bill until after they received my payment. It turns out that they did charge for an exam, and when I called to rectify the issue the vet (Dr. Carreker) was very dismissive of my concerns and rude. I tothat I was told that an exam was optional but she was argumentative and did not care that her staff was ill-informed of her supposed policies. I will NOT be returning to this overpriced and insensitive clinic and I would not suggest it to anyone else. read more
