Friday, I bought a Chevy Trax from Sam Leman Chevy and was extremely happy with Mark Eldredge who helped me through the decision-making on whether to lease or buy. He and Dennis (the really great financial guy) helped me purchase a vehicle I could afford. Mark is the guy to see when you buy a vehicle. We are very happy with our purchase from Leman Chevy City Bloomington from start to finish. We had originally walked in to test drive a new 2014 Equinox but we found a gem of vehicle among their used vehicles. We purchased a used 2013 Chrysler Town and Country touring with all the bells and whistles. Very happy with the negotiated price and the service after the sale. There was no high pressure tactics used in the Finance room as I had experienced in previous buying experiences. Worked with the dealer to secure our loan which we were already approved for. Somehow the headphones and remote for the built in DVD system were not in the vehicle when it was delivered. The ad for the vehicle clearly listed these as included. The sales manager made good on his promise to make it right and we got our missing items replaced by the following Tuesday. Also Jarrod the salesman made sure that we had gas in the tank before heading out. I would recommend them for new or used vehicles. read more

I had a very bad experience with the Leman salespeople. They first told me they had a vehicle in and it was saved for me but they sold it to someone before they contacted me that it was available for me to see. I waited 2 weeks for that. Then he told me not to worry but he had another on its way via transport trailer and it would be in the next week. I waited and checked often to see when it would be in and waited over 3 more weeks and finally asked why it was taking so long. Then he informed me that they made a mistake and it wasn't coming. They had another one on hand that wasn't the color interior I wanted and didn't have the backup cam. The interior was ugly but I told him if they could lower the price I would consider it. After negotiating with him via text for a day, he offered it for a trade difference of $20800. I said as long as it has mats to cover up the light interior. He said it would have mats. I was ready to make the deal when he all of a sudden texted me a price increase of over $800. I said we had a price deal of $20800 and because of his arrogant manager Benji, they upped the price. I have saved over 190 texts from this fraudulent company of which, over 90% are all lies and deception. I would give them a minus10 star if I could. AWFUL. I have to go these guys for service. I purchased a Chevy Aveo - which I encourage you avoid at all costs; you should AVOID CHEVY and GM all together. They told me all of the problems my model had after it was too late to return it. It is hard on tires. The alignment is likely to be off set, and ultimately eat through tires because the car is so "light". They are completely open with me as to how and why my car is failing and in the next breath explain to me all of the legal reasons why Chevy doesn't have to do anything to help me. I have requested they buy back the car, on the count of all of the issues I have had. At a certain point, when you own a new car and its been two years and you've had it in the shop for major repairs...it starts to smell like a lemon right? The engine had to be rebuilt right after the first year. There was also a problem with the oxygen sensor. It would fail, and my car would stop sending fuel through the engine (this would happen often as I would be getting on the highway...my car would die!). They did not know what to do, and they did not know how to fix it. I had to bring it in twice because they were so confused. The warranty was extended to 75,000 miles cause I have had so many problems actually. Recently I brought it in because I was told by who rotated my tires that there was something wrong with my suspension and it was destroying my tires. Chevy was all too quick to disregard this, say that nothing is wrong with my car but it is and will continue you to be "hard on tires". I asked the guy who checked me out, what I could do to avoid this in the future as I have to be a third set of tires now at 37,000 miles! He just said "I don't know", and that my model was a bad model. We asked if there was anyone who might know more about my car and how I could possibly extend the life of my tires...he shook his head again and said, "I don't know". DOES THAT SOUND LIKE A LEMON! The manager also told me how he knew someone who owned the same model as me and that she had abnormal tire issues. SO apparently, at Chevy, it is ok for them to sell a bad model that abnormally uses up tires and needs a lot of service. There are a couple people there that are human, and actually seem to empathize with me however they admit they really can't do anything. This was one of the worst purchases I have ever made in my life. I thought I could trust this name and brand. They are unprofessional and they do not care about developing a long customer relationship over time. I have dealt with the local Chevy people, the larger company, and GM, and they either do not care or else they admit my car is a bad model and that they cannot do anything. Chevy today is a company that makes crappy cars, and has a great warranty to protect themselves and not the customer. BUYERS BEWARE. I wonder how some of the people working there go to sleep at night. Response to TOM S: You guys offered to sell me tires (with free installment..etc...etc.etc.). That is not moving forward! Many tire places offer this free with a purchase of tires, also many places are cheaper than you, and additionally honor the warranty. Additionally I was told by your techs the tires had to be rotated every 3,000 miles and it was my fault that the tires wore unevenly. So 6,000 miles woundn't be enough. Furthermore, there is no warranty on your tires, because as you say my aveo is hard on tires. So, when I get a 30,000 mile tire and get 15,000 miles out of it all i hear is: "your aveo is hard on tires". MY PROBLEM IS NOT THE TIRES IT IS THE CAR. PLEASE RE-READ THE REVIEW, there were SEVERAL PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR. One set of tires isn't going to change the fact that I have had two buy 3 pairs of tires in less than three years. THE PROBLEM IS BIGGER THAN ONE PAIR OF TIRES. I went to Sears and got my second set of tires. When the chevy aveo was so hard on it, they didn't quibble with me, they honored the warranty and they got me a free set of tires. Guess what free rotations come with it too and they check the alignment everytime you bring it in. They really are a good model to focus on. I didn't even have to spend thousands of dollars there, I bought one set of tires and they honored the warranty instead of giving me an excuse. read more

BEWARE!! Husband bought used car that had a clutch problem and they said they would fix it. He had it home 1 week and clutch went out.. they said to bad, not our problem. My husband and I purchased a Cadillac ATS from Leman last December 2013 and we are still waiting for our 2nd key fob. It is now December 2014! This is the absolute worst experience I have ever had. This is the first yelp review I have ever written because I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, however, tonight was the last straw. I will start from the beginning.We were promised an owner's manual & a 2nd key fob when we bought the car last Dec. I was told we would receive a call within 1-2 weeks for both items and when that time came and went, I went there and spoke to the salesperson. He told me he simply forgot and wasn't too sorry about it. He gave me a manual & said he would call me with the fob in another week or two. That time came & went & we still didn't hear anything. My husband works 60 hrs a week and I work full time as well so we weren't hounding them. We gave them a month and with no response I called again. They thought now that the key was at their other dealership and would call them to get it. They promised another call back. They actually did call me back this time, but it was now springtime. I picked the fob up and was told that the Cadillac dealership would program it for me down the road since I had to go there to get my oil changed. After waiting at Cadillac for almost 2 hours they finally realized that Leman had given me the wrong key fob. The fob they game me belonged to a totally different car! Cadillac had to charge me $100 for all of the labor bc it wasn't their fault that it could not be programmed. I paid the $100. During this time, Cadillac also noticed that my current key fob which has a manual key inside was not cut for my car! (Our car is keyless) If my fob didn't work, I would not have been able to get in my car even manually. My husband and I promptly went to Leman and spoke to a manager (I don't remember his name) & he paid us back the $100 & said he would fix this problem. He said he would order me a cut key for my current key fob and a 2nd key fob with a cut key. I finally received a call that our cut key for our current key fob and our 2nd key fob was in. I was told it would take 15 minutes to program. I went to Leman a wk later. They said it would take 1-2 hours to program which I hadn't planned for. When I proceeded to make an appointment I noticed that something was missing. They had my 2nd key fob but the cut key for my current key fob was missing. I was getting a little upset at this time but still kept my cool. I went to speak to the same manager who ordered this for me and explained that the cut key for my current fob did not come in. He didn't really know what I was talking about even though he placed the order and I had to explain the situation for the 20th time. He now gets Benji Leman in on the conversation and they are both blaming so and so and did not want to take responsibility & did not care in the least that It has now been 6 months or more since we bought our car. In the end, they gave me the cut key from the 2nd key fob to put in my current key fob and said they would order another cut key to go with the 2nd key fob. My husband and I both go into our busy seasons at work and have a couple of vacations so several months pass before we realized we still haven't received a call from Leman. We went to the dealership last month to talk to the manager with whom we have been dealing with & guess what? He no longer works there. I speak to the sales person who sold me the car and Benji Leman, who is somewhat familiar with the situation, comes out and I explain the situation AGAIN! Benji Leman says he will personally order another fob and says that they will call us by that Friday or Monday at the latest. I joked that I would call them Tuesday if I hadn't heard from them by Monday. Well as you probably guessed three weeks passed without any word. Why didn't we call on Tuesday? Two reasons: I thought I would give them a little more time since one week seemed fast and secondly I thought I would go ballistic on them if they didn't have the key fob. Tonight I called Benji Leman at Chevy City and I did go ballistic. He asks why I hadn't called sooner. I'm sorry, what? I reminded him that he was supposed to call me and that me calling him was a last resort. He said he was busy & had a lot to do & basically said that I should be grateful that he ordered me a $300 key fob when most dealerships would have said no, even though that was the deal when we bought the car. He then asks me to hold so he can check on the fob with service. He comes back and says they are closed and he would have to call me back Monday. So the truth is he doesn't even know if they have the key fob yet! He was arrogant and rude and couldn't have care less about our situation. I will admit that I bit his head off and more. Did he apologize? No, he blamed me & others & wouldn't come off his high horse. Btw, the car has given us nothing but problems. It's been in the shop 5 times. 0 stars. read more

We were told when we bought the car that the whole defected piece would be repaired by replacing the whole piece so that we did not have to worry about it chipping again. They had our car for 3 days and all they did was repaint one small corner and left another chipped area completely unfinished. We live in Fisher so we had to rent a car and then to get there and it not be fixed was absolutely ridiculous. To top it off the person who put our touch-up paint in a bag did not close it so not only is the car not finished now I have an awesome streak of white paint on my black leather seats. Disgusted with our experience and will NEVER be going back. Had actually referred people to you since we initially had a good experience but will be calling everyone back to let them know of this experience. Awful service and awful customer service.
