Had a great time today exploring the museum. I've been here a few times but always nice to show it off to friends who haven't been to a local community treasure. I'd like to say the directional arrows aren't really helpful and it would have been nice to have a map or more sense of direction to repeat steps. $25 a person lots of private parking and the two ladies and the front desk taking your money could work on their customer service skills they looked bored and weren't helpful and just looked bored at work kinda felt as if we were annoying asking basic questions. Like which way do you suggest to start? So -

If you appreciate classic cars and the history behind of those iconic vehicles and men that created them. They have a great selection of vintage cars, muscle cars and super sports cars. There was nice display of Saleen and Shelby cars and several rare prototypes cars.

I love this museum! I think it is interesting for both car buff and non-car buff people. There are so many cars to check out and learn about in this amazing facility. What a treasure this place is in Tacoma. Check it out for yourself. I highly recommend it :-)

All I can say is it is Amazing! For car lovers , it is the place to go. It also teaches us a lot about automobiles and provides a history by simply showing us how cars came to existence. It really spoke to me without having a curator. I have always enjoyed seeing different styles of cars. There is a car for every type of person. The service was pretty simple. There was a nice lady to greet us. We had an option to pay for an admission or get a club one. I chose club one. It will last one year. It is worth it if you enjoy seeing different cars.

The LeMay America's Car Museum makes you appreciate the auto industry. We spent a couple hours there, it would be easy to stay longer. We showed up on a weekend. Lots of cars were already parked but no problem finding a parking stall. Upon arrival, pay admission. We lucked out that day, anyone 18 years and younger had free admission. You walk through at your own pace. Didn't ever feel like it was crowded. You can build a stock car upstairs then run it down the stock car track downstairs. Staff recommended walking through on one side of each floor then coming up the other way. The top floor had an Japanese car exhibit- Acura, Mazda, Honda, Nissan. Most were on loan. A Nissan Skyline was featured. The bottom floors were classic cars, fire trucks, and some newer vehicles. The DeLorean from Back to the Future and even the Flintstone vehicle were there. Cool to see the evolution of cars and there were lots of displays to read and learn from. We all enjoyed our time there. Highly recommend!

I am shocked how much I enjoyed this museum. My hubby wanted to check out the museum. I resisted rolling my eyes, smiled and said "sure!" Actually, I'm glad I did. The top floor of Japanese cars was just meh for me and then we turned the corner to a row of luxury, bespoke vehicles that are absolute works of art. IMHO of course. There are four levels of vehicles. Sloping exterior aisles are on each side of a long interior gallery on every floor. A docent told us to follow the path to your right on the way down and then work your way back up on the other side. Basically spiral down, then spiral up. Brilliant. Wear your walking shoes because you will get your steps in. There is a staircase and an elevator if you don't want to walk the spiral back up. The exterior walkways have a variety of exhibits. Bespoke cars, Rt. 66, vehicle fuels through the years and so on. All ages were present during our visit. The gift shop has a surprising amount of car-centric gift ideas. A cafe is located one level above the top gallery, above the gift shop. Lost and found is on the way up, top exterior aisle Plenty of parking is available with a few EV charge stations and Handicapped spots, at the front of the building. A staircase leads from the lot to the entrance. You can also drop-off near the entrance before parking, or walk up roadside. It just so happened we visited on Veterans day and without realizing it, my husbands Veteran ticket was free on Veterans day! That was a very nice surprise. Really good collection of vehicles from the early 1900's onward. You should visit.

I went here for the first time. Lamay story is interesting. The museum is nice. T the collection is diverse. The place is clean. Exhibits are good. There is a place to eat. Try the club sandwich.

Pricey but the museum is well maintained, well run, functionality well laid out with no waiting and plenty of parking and the collection is fascinating and interesting! I'm a Porsche fan and these vehicles in the collection did not disappoint. I really enjoyed the racing sims - they are fun and competitive. Try those out for sure if you can get through the line!

What a fantastic world-class car museum. We loved the interesting layout and how it meanders in perfect order. So many cars from different eras. I especially liked the 60s British cars and muscle cars. This is one great museum. Even non car lovers will find it exciting and interesting. Tacoma should be proud this in in their town.

On my last trip to Tacoma I had a few hours to spare so I decided to take the LeMay museum tour. I was staying close by so I just walked over. I noticed several comments about parking fees so I was able to avoid those. I paid $20 (veteran price) but general admission is $22. I visited on a Thursday a little after lunch so the place was pretty empty. As soon as I walked in and paid my entrance fee I was greeted by a room full of Porsche's. As you walk through you the museum you'll notice the design is of a parking garage which is genius. There is no shortage of vintage cars, trucks and even so newer vehicles. There's also themed displays (AAA, Napa, an old garage) as well as sections where the staff is working on some of the cars. There is no shortage of cars to see and there's even a little cafe. Not sure of the quality or anything other than I saw it passing by.
