I'm an Airbnb convert but my friend was the one who booked this place. Well now I know. I'd rather sleep in a trunk. He made the reservation over two weeks before and then called again the week of to make sure the reservation was confirmed. He had mentioned how difficult they were to work with, and was worried about the living situation but we didn't have many options. We were going to Hard Summer at the Fairplex and this was both close and cheap(er). When we checked in that night, we weren't the only ones coming from the event. Their 200 dollar fine for smoking in rooms and no partying rule seemed very ironic when we walked past open doors of rooms packed with people taking bong rips. So we say we reserved two rooms. The man behind the desk goes, "We'll see." That already does not sound good. He informs us that our rooms were canceled. We asked why and how and when, and he just shrugged. We were so frustrated but he was completely unflustered and unhelpful. We told him about how a female employee who made the reservation said that the card would be charged the night before, and he said it wasn't true and asked us to pay for two rooms if we wanted them now. He asked us if we wanted two rooms about ten times before confirming that we could get keys within 15 minutes. We originally booked two rooms with two beds in each. He gave us a room with a king sized bed and a room with two full sized beds. It cost $400 in total. As I said, I wish I had rented an RV instead or even splurged for the nearby Sheraton. Ah, the Lemon Tree Motel. I am a twenty year old college student who needed a place to sleep off my hangover from the fair for cheap and that's exactly what I got. Only a $6 uber ride to the fair and my room had a lovely view of the ARCO and Denny's next door that made for a wonderful 3:00 am dinner. The rooms were hard wood which made them easy to clean beer off of, and you never feel like you left the place in bad condition because its already in such terrible condition. Even though it was September when I went, I appreciated the year-round Halloween decor of blood-stained drapes in my room. The cracked finish in the bathroom and molding toilet made me appreciate my crappy dorm housing back home. I was not taken by surprise, the second I pulled up to the hotel I knew exactly how it was going to look on the inside. They had exclusively dead grass and mattresses, broken tables and chairs as lawn furniture. Nothing more romantic than walking around in the middle of the night with your partner when you are both scared for your life. It was only $70 but you got just about the bare minimum, the ice even had to be paid for. If you are bilingual you will have no problem communicating with the staff here. I am not sure why it is called the Lemon Tree Motel, there were no lemons in sight, perhaps it was because everything that was once white was now a sort of yellow-ish color. I read the other reviews on my way after booking and got nervous but thought it couldn't be as bad as the reviews. I don't give Yelp as much credit because it's typically people who like to complain. I'm on here to warn, it IS as bad as the reviews say, except the staff was not rude. But everything is filthy, there are thick white stains on literally everything ( bed floor furniture ect) no towels or toiletries. I wouldn't have showered anyways because it was just that disgusting. Anyways, if I had to choose sleeping in my truck or sleeping here for free, guess where I'll be. DO NOT STAY HERE!!! I am by no means picky when it comes to a motel/hotel stay for a single night. I needed a place nearby for an exam as I live in san diego. THIS PLACE WAS DISGUSTING!! Not to mention creepy, dirty, and I just didn't feel safe. When I first got there, the attendent was behind plate glass, he checks you in by hand (written that is) the room was gross and the microwave didnt have knobs so it was unuseable. I asked for a new room, he practically threw the key at me. This new room was adjacent to the previous room and was worse! I gatthered my things and went to clerk to say that I wasnt staying there and to demanded a refund. Although he did offer me a new room, he outwardly refused to give a refund because "I had already been there for 20 minutes". That is literally what he said, that was the excuse given. I told him should be ashamed of himself and called him a theif! I am not a hooker who paid for an hour, I am a customer who paid $65 for the a full night stay. I didn't stay the night. As I walked into the bathroom I saw tiles on the floor missing, there were jagged edges and what looked like mold . The floor was very dirty, the bath tub was dirty, the metal piece that the water is supposed to come out of to fill the bath tub was broke. This place is very disgusting! Do not stay at hotel !!!! Booked one night because we where visiting family , upon check in I knew I should have ran , bullet proof glass , no credit card required , pretty much just pulled up my reservation from Priceline and that was it .... At first site our room was OK , it was clean , I ran my hand with a tissue along things and was pleased , nothing fancy , I travel with my own bedding so I made up my bed and found the heads boards where not bolted to the wall , how did I learn this , oh by almost getting hit in the head by it !! We laughed it off and reminded ourself we have stayed at worse , I ran to my car to make sure I took all out valuables out ( yes that type of hotel) and soon learned truly what type of guest stay here ... At this point it was almost midnight and I wasn't about to find a new hotel , went back to my room and locked up , placed a chair In front of the door ( yes I was a little paranoid) and tried to go to sleep asap so I could check out first thing in the morning ..... Woke up the next morning to talking outside my window , go outside to have a cigarette and guess who I find .... Two homeless men using the outlet to charge there phone ,um , ya ? Soon after a staff member just walked right pass them like it was no big deal ( Hello , um , your guest want to feel safe while staying at your establishment ) Went back in and hubby was already in the shower , when he came out he was laughing and he said " be careful in the shower" I figured it has no slip guard ... Absolutely, THE MOST DISGUSTING motel EVER!!! Blood stains, hairs, burn holes, graffiti, white stains, on EVERYTHING. Food chunks and crumbs, nails, pills, unknown things, and baggies, on the floor. Super gross shower with mold and guck! Free porn on channel 5, we have two young children, who luckily didn't see it! Super shady people coming and going. There was a man in the lobby (laughing and chatting with the manager) who was clearly a pimp for the girls that were coming and going. So wrong! We asked for our money back which they said no. We told them we were not staying but also not leaving without a refund. It took some convincing but we got our refund AND was able to sway 3 different families from staying there, just from the conversation with the manager in the lobby. This hotel is terrible! It doesn't even deserve one star. The cleaning staff (or someone else who would have had room keys) stole tickets that we had, the management would do nothing! We put the do not disturb sign up on our door, only to find it was ignored and they kept coming in! The owner was very unhelpful or sympathetic. I called the police about the theft, because it was over $500. The police man who came and talked to me even said it was a bad place. If the police say stay away, I would listen. I went in this hotel room and the carpet was dirty, the bathtub looked as if it has not been cleaned in a long time, there were natts flying around everywhere... the tv wouldn't work. oh hell to the no...... My husband and I decided to go here, because it was right off the freeway and close to home. (we wanted to chill for a little while). Well the price was cool and it looked pretty decent on the inside. Anyhoo I get comfortable and decide to use the restroom and take a hot shower...now I go to flush and the toilet is not working I'm like OOOOOK...that was no big deal to me I grew up in the ghetto and I know how to solve this problem. Sooooo I will just fill up the ice bucket with water and pour it in the toilet (that gets it to flush). I go to cut on the tub water and THAT is not working.. Now I'm getting pissed..so instead of going off I decided to just call the front desk and ask them what the hell is going on. The lady was like oh I'm sorry I forgot to mention the water will be off for the next TWO hours. WTF!!! you forgot to mention that huh...She then comes up to our room to tell us she has opened the room next to us and we can go to the bathroom in that room and just not flush it. ewwwww so anyway, we called 2 hours later because the water still was not on and spoke to her again. They finally cut it on after about 3 hours, but the hot water never came on, we had to take cold ass freezing showers. Then all night we were hearing high heels and soft knocks on doors, now I'm no expert but I would have to say it was alot of hooker activity going on. And the last reviewer was right Porn was on the moment you cut on the TV and on like 2 channels. The only cable channel (HBO) had a buzzing sound and it was just horrible all the way around. I went to this motel and was only able to stay an hour due to the fact it's absolutely filthy. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. There were roaches. Mold,stains, cigarette burns on the bed. Many of the lights weren't working. So after and hour I couldn't take it anymore the smell was awful. I went and spoke with the owner and he never gave us the key back when he took us to our room. I forgot to mention that . Anyways he said well I told you it was a smoky room no he never said that not only that he tried pinning it on me saying I lost the key when he didn't give it to us. Well after minutes of going back and fourth he started yelling and proceeded to pull out a bat on me and my friend mind you we are only 19 and he proceeded to pull out a bat on us, but as soon as we started recording he hid the bat. The note was very sketchy and I'm almost positive there was prostitution going on there, even though there was a sign at the front desk that said they did not tolerate it. For $65 a night, it was a terrible price. I absolutely HATE this place!! My first visit we didn't have a wide range of hotels that could check us in so we ended up finding this place and liked the fact that it was 5 mins away from my aunts house. Once getting our room it smelled like someone was recently smoking in there and our room was a NON smoking room.. Everything else seemed fined till I opened the wardrobe and drawers and found tagging all on the inside and then the shower water was so hard on my skin I thought I was going to have cuts! Our second visit was even worse and is the last time I will stay there.. The doors extra lock was not working so I had to sleep with one eye open and the guy didn't want to give us a different room.. Like what the hell? And after a long day at Disneyland our key stopped working ..TWICE! So we had to exchange keys those two times we left. This place is so bad I don't understand how it's still in business. And I don't understand how families could even stay here every other channel had porn on it and the staff are liars they told us the pool was closed and 10 mins later there were people swimming in there.. There are people selling drugs right in front of the motel, dirt smeared on the inside walls of our room, the walls above the shower look like they're straight out of a horror movie with holes and paint peeling off, and to top it all off the furniture looks 20 years old.
