Update: It's true Lens did reach out to my father to discuss this situation. They left a message apologizing for our experience, saying they would 'discuss' returning our $200 if we called back. We have not returned the call as I'm sure that 'discussion' would lead to me having to remove this review. The message went on to note the reason for our experience was due to an improperly trained employee which is both an admission of guilt that this situation did occur and also doubtful as there were two employees, Ray and Mike who came to shake us down 5/18/26. The review is worth more to the general public than the $200 so we will not be returning the call. At most should they like to mail us a check returning the money I will provide another update with that resolution. Otherwise hope everyone finds this review helpful. I called Len the Plumber for a drainage issue from my washing machine. They cut a pipe that appeared to be clogged, but now the same issue as recurred (about 2 months later). It seems like they jumped to an expensive repair that only partially addressed the problem (if at all). Misled and Ignored: Avoid Sewer Work from Service Technicians We requested LEN the Plumber for on-site bathroom shower replacement and sewer line snaking estimates. What we didn't know: they have two separate teams--service technicians and sewer specialists--and the difference is never explained to new customers. On November 21, 2025, a service technician showed up. Instead of giving the shower estimate, he insisted he could snake our sewer line and promised to provide a quote afterward. Trusting him, we went ahead--$480 later. Two days later, the sewer specialist arrived. He immediately told us snaking wouldn't work--something the first technician never mentioned. Video evidence confirmed it: the snaking did almost nothing. We were left feeling misled and taken advantage of. I contacted LEN the Plumber. A manager left a voicemail promising to investigate. Nothing. Follow-up calls go unanswered. Yes, the snaking contract warns results aren't guaranteed--but selling a specialized service by someone unqualified crosses the line. Had a leaking toilet and it was determined it need new piping below the toilet in the basement. They were getting ready to cut a pipe when I noticed it was the wrong pipe. They provided a quote for $1,600 to replace the pipes. When they identified the correct pipe they said they couldn't perform the job. So, he needed to rethink the job. So he replaced the flange with another one on top og the old one used a lot of screws and caulk. When I asked about the revised price I was told it was $1,600. $1,600 for a $12 dollar flange. I complaint as was told the price is the price. A total rip off. Filing with the state attorney general to see of this scam can be resolved. read more

Total rip off pricing structure. It's a real shame that smaller HVAC companies are being gobbled up by the Len the Plumber and other chain/franchise operations. I was quoted over $799 for a simple AC capacitor replacement - this a part that costs less than $20 on Amazon and is a simple 15 minute replacement as seen on several YouTube videos.....and this outrageous price was quoted even after my "member discount" by having an annual service plan. Capacitor replacement is known as the biggest rip-off in the HVAC business - it's often the part that fails, causing the AC compressor not to turn on. A monkey with a wrench can replace it. I expected better from a company that I had an annual service plan with. This estimate is simply outrageous. I was roped into the annual plan in order to get a "discount" on what amounted to an emergency water heater replacement. This is really is a deceptive trade practice. Basically, I'd be paying for it either way. The annual plan allows their technicians get into my home in Spring and Fall to diagnose Heater and AC "concerns" and recommend part replacements and upsell "members". Also quoted on the attached estimate is a $77 estimate to treat the condensation pan to avoid any mildew buildup. A tidy-bowl disc for $2 would do the same if even necessary. Unbelievable. I've cancelled my plan - but unfortunately have to pay $16/month for several more months as it's an annual commitment. Lesson learned. Do yourself a favor and find a local HVAC company - not one of these chain franchises. Stay away from Len the Plumber. read more

I called Len the Plumber accidentally for help with my water well pump. They responded that day and sent Tom Noll who recommended that I replace the tank only but when he came back he said that he had lost sleep worrying about whether I should replace the bladder also. I said to go ahead and replace both. it turned out that both were defective and needed to be replaced. my pump works great now. I appreciated that Tom cared enough to worry about what parts need to be replaced. he has since helped me again and I will request him every time. read more

On November 17, 2025, a technician visited our home to address a clogged drain. We signed an estimate without being informed of important contract stipulations that were presented only in very small print. After completing his attempt, the technician stated that the clog was caused by wipes and product residue, but the drain was never unclogged. When we asked for clarification, we were shown the contract conditions only afterward, including that the service was a non-guaranteed 90-minute attempt. Attempts to reach a manager for clarification were unsuccessful. Due to the technician's unprofessional behavior--including poor communication and sarcastic remarks--we asked him to leave and ultimately had to call the police to prevent the situation from escalating. We are requesting a review of the case and fair consideration, as the issue remains unresolved and the service did not achieve the intended result. read more

The plumber came out took pictures then commence to get me to sign a signature page to a document that he told me he could not bring up the rest. I paid him the $49 and he left and emailed me an invoice (3 pages with my signature on the last page stating all these things that I understood and agreed to. REALLY. I had them install a whole house water filter. It was about $500 for the filter and installation combined. The plumber installed it in a way that didn't make any sense (flow wise). I pointed it out to him. He assured me it was okay. He returned about 1/2 hour later to correct his error. Almost 2 years later, the filter exploded on Christmas Eve. No water. I had Roto Rooter get my water flowing again in the morning. A molded part had separated in a way that suggested bad manufacturing. I purchased another of the same filter from another company. I called Len to have them install it. The manufacturer told me that it was probably due to high water pressure and that I should contact the installer to ask about any warranty credit. The plumber from Len told me that my water pressure was fine. He charged me $2,000 to remove their old work and replumb it. Remember, I was providing the filter this time. I called several times, over a period of months, and never even got a return to my repeated calls about my warranty question. I'm thinking that my next plumbing problem, I'll call Roto Rooter, who didn't even charge me anything extra for my Christmas morning service call. read more

Stupid me! I strongly recommend getting other quotes before agreeing to have them do the work. I feel ripped off, but hopefully my experience will help others avoid that. Got some guy that could barely speak English, in all honesty I am not sure what language he spoke. Finally after I told him what the problem was and needed a plumber, he came back and said you are on Do not serve list. What the hell does that mean? I don't remember doing business with these guys. I told him to have someone call me. I checked my email and found I did have them come out a couple years ago and check our water heater, and with out checking anything he said we have to replace water heater. I told him I wanted to get a second opinion. I went to the Marine Service co, and they priced out half of Len and didn't come off as trying to upsell anything. Water heater sprung a leak so we called len the plumber. We told them our water heater was propane. The technician installed a natural gass heater. our water heater stopped working so we called them to come back. He installed a propane water heater but not correctly. We had a water main break and called another plumbing company. They found that the water heater that was installed was leaking gas for a year. We'll never call this company again. read more

My wife called Len the Plumber for them to come out and clear a back up to our toilet. They came out and charged for the $494.70 for the first 90 minutes and then an additional $143.65 for an additional 30 minutes. No problem. Then they charged an additional $641.75 for "difficult access level 2", which means they had to go through our basement toilet which they took out to conduct the main cleanout. I thought that was expensive, but still not my issue. My issues is that they then charged and additional $436 to put the toilet back on. I don't see how that's not included in the "difficult access level 2" charge. My wife didn't know any better so she just paid it. They also talked her into an additional service agreement, which if you read the fine print automatically renews if you don't cancel in writing before the end of the first year. When I called to talked to someone about what I saw as an overcharge, I got a secretary at a call center and they said someone would get back to me within 24hours. No one did. I called the next week and they said some one would call back. Still no return call. I have since called two more times and still no return call. Its now been over a month since the service visit. read more

He sourced the issue in a relatively short time & despite the gross subject matter, he always had a polite demeanor, a smile on his face, & made sure I had no other concerns before he left.
