I found Jillian through her previous Yelp page, "Jillian Kay Photography". NB: she prefers all new reviews on Epoxy. The services I ended up selecting: two mini sessions for boyfriend and myself. I never felt unhappy while working with Jillian. Her professionalism is well-rounded and shows in all her services and interactions. Epoxy Studio's website specifically states that she often cannot respond to phone calls, especially if she's in scheduled sessions with other clients. I was totally OK with e-mailing (my preferred method of communication anyways), and got a fast response time via e-mail. Picking a time despite our limited availability was quick (a few back-and-forth e-mails), and everything was set up in 24 hours. Contracts and payment was done online and taken care of before our session. Getting to Epoxy Studios was probably the most difficult part of the entire process. It is hard to miss, with several large trees obscuring the building entryway. Honestly, I'm nitpicking at this point... We had a little detour getting to the studio, since Google Maps announced we were here but I couldn't see it.... I thought we had to park in the parking lot immediately before, but there is street parking. Jillian was waiting (very patiently) outside of the complex to guide us and it helped a lot! Our sessions started with discussions on strategic poses and concepts over fresh coffee. The shoot took 10min (as listed on the website). Total time (including parking, talking, shooting) took ~1 hour for both of us. We were in and out, and received our proofs within 3 hours. After deciding on our final 2 edited portraits, our Viewbook albums were given to us in 24 hours! Overall, very happy with the services. Process was incredibly efficient, and I find it hard to believe any other photographers with studios in the SJ area would offer a better experience for our needs. Thanks Jillian!

I was delighted when I met her at a networking event - she was friendly and made me immediately feel comfortable. Her enthusiasm for the joy of the process was contagious! I had a great time at the photo shoot. Jillian gracefully allowed me to be me, whatever that took. It relaxed me in ways that helped me feel natural, and let some comfortable images take hold. She also, of course, had good instructions for me as to what I could do to help make a good shot ("lean this way", "look over here") and was always conscious ways to use the natural lighting. Truly, Jillian's work speaks for her. The photographs are awesome! She took a lot of pics, and gave me 70 fabulous ones to choose from! And what fun it was - I was amazed to see how good I looked! She caught such wonderful moments that looked so good in a head shot. And then she made them even better with her tweaking magic! I feel so lucky to have meet this creative soul. She is an amazing host to her studio. She sweetly offered help all along the way, in whatever ways I should so need. If, or I will say WHEN I need more head shots -- she's the one!!! Great photos. We had a family maternity photo shoot with Michelle, she is so wonderful with children. We have a…read moretoddler who was extremely grumpy, Michelle was so patient and got so many smiles out of her. She selected a great shooting location and instructed us in many great poses, we didn't have to worry or suggest extra poses. She came with some great props to make the session special. I highly recommend Michelle, she's super professional, warm and kind. If you have a difficult toddler, she's your photographer, she will get some great pics of them and you. So thankful we found her.

I did an acting headshot session with Carla at her studio. She was incredibly diligent, on time,…read moreand professional. I tend to get a little bit anxious if I'm in front of a camera for too long. Photos are not really something that I like to do, however, Carla made me feel incredibly comfortable. She was very communicative while taking photos to help me get my best angle and feel comfortable in my own skin. Before my session, Carla communicated with me through email to help me find what outfits I should wear dependent on what roles I was shooting for. There are quite a few different colored backdrops to choose from. She quickly changed backdrops in between my different looks. And had her soft box set up to perfectly bring out my eyes. After the shoot, she sent me a link so I could go through the gallery and pick the photos that I would like. This experience was absolutely incredible. I cannot wait to post my new headshots and start applying for roles!

Spending a day with Abhi in front of her camera was a delight that I could not have expected…read more I have always felt that I looked different in pictures than I do in "real life", and when I expressed that to Abhi she nodded knowingly and said that she could capture the me that I (emphasis on I) saw in the mirror. She invited me to her studio and prepared me with resources I NEVER would have thought of - like having a consultation with a color specialist in advance and having professional makeup on site. Now for the shoot and the images....what can I say? She delivered. She coached me on how to approach the camera so that my smile didn't look like the Joker's and that my nostrils weren't persistently flared. Really, almost every picture of me has captured the flare. Not pretty. Abhi caught my spirit without the over-animation that I am prone to, and for that I am FoReVeR grateful. When we got pregnant, we knew we wanted to capture our baby's first photos. I wanted it done…read moreprofessionally because my iphone photo skills are more like pinterest fails. After baby arrived there were so many options and talented photographers. Boy are we glad we chose Bits of Magic Image-- Gladys is the most patient and amazing baby whisperer ever! When you first begin the journey to partnering with her to capture baby's picture- she has a questionnaire you fill out before you arrive. That way she knows what your expectations and desires are. We didnt have a nursery color but i love jewel tones- so thats what we listed. You can also bring family heirlooms or any piece you want baby to be photographed in or with. This is crucial because she has many options, colors, backgrounds etc. Being clear on what you want will help Gladys set her imagination to capture what your heart is expecting. She also issues a paypal invoice that you pay before you show up- that way everything is handled and you can focus on baby during the shoot. The studio is kept at a really nice.m warm temperature and there is even a white noise machine set up running in the background. Through the shoot, our baby was a little fussy- Gladys magically swaddled, sang to her, rocked her all while arranging our baby girl in perfect poses in wonderful basket/ beanbag set ups with gorgeous jewel tone colors. It was exactly what i asked for and expected. We even got a few pictures of my husband and i holding baby-- extra family shots thrown in. Gladys goes above and beyond to communicate clearly what to expect, every step that she is doing with baby so you know whats going on with your precious one. Everything is professionally handled and awesome! You get the digital copies so you can choose to print out as many copies or sizes as you wish. Definitely go with Gladys if you want amazing pictures and a great experience!
