Stopped in here and was very surprised at the large beer selection available. I found several Bottle Logic beers from different years I had not seen before. They had Belching Beaver specialty beers from several years ago. Downside, many people including staff not wearing mask. When I asked for a beer on one of the upper shelfs I could not reach, I was given a stool and got it myself. No big deal but 99% of any business would not allow it for insurance purposes. I would definitely stop in again to see what beers they have. You can tell some of them have not moved in awhile because of the dust. I would like to share my most recent experience of when I was yelled at and chased out of Lena's Liquor because the girl working at the counter stated she doesn't care for me because I "sound like a valley girl". I honestly cannot help I was raised in Southern California. I never mean to come off pompous, but I guess I rubbed her the wrong way one day and she had been mean to me ever since. I always greet her and she always ignores me but will speak to other customers. I usually bring my own bags, but this time I didn't and asked her for a bag, she put the bag out and told me to bag it myself. I was appalled. I am always a very nice person, ask any of the other 8 employees that work there, in addition to the owner. This behavior is simply not sustainable for good business. read more

My favorite liquor store to pick up craft beer in East Escondido, selection might not be as good as the other "craft beer " spot across the street but prefer the service and prices from this spot hands down. Good selection of hazies/NE IPA's and other styles as well. Definitely recommend if you're in this side of town and looking for some brews. read more

Walked in here because I heard good things and wanted to see what they had. I happened to be wearing a Pliny the Younger shirt and the dude behind the counter, without greeting me or any other kind of acknowledgement immediately starts talking smack. Just starts going off on how that beer is overrated and people who are into it are dumb. Like dang bro it's just a shirt, if you didn't want my business just say so. I left without buying anything. This place has a great inventory of hard to find liquor, and at unbelievable prices. In December, I bought 2 cases of some liquor I could not find anywhere. When I told the man(owner I think) I wanted 2 cases, he told me to leave the display cases, and that he had a ton of them in the back. I went to this store to get some coals for my hookah. Then I remembered they had a deal on a dream hose so I checked that out and ended up buying one. But!!! Even though the price was great the service was horrible. He tried selling me the display box that was torn in half so I requested the box that was intact. He then called me a little girl and gave me attitude the rest of the visit. Never been treated this poorly ANYWHERE. I come here often at least once a week sometimes more. I will not be coming back. The only reason they got one star is because of the price. Would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Every single person that works there is warm, engaging, personable, they remember you when you return, each and every one of them is an awesome individual. Selection? They literally have whatever you are looking for. Price? They cannot be beat in Escondido. Most of the liquor stores in this town charge an arm AND a leg for every little thing! Lena's is INCREDIBLY fair on whatever it is you're looking for. And their hours? Don't worry about it. If you're trying to go there, they're open. I love Lena's and everyone that works there. I asked her a questioned about one of the selections they had, she was very nasty. This place is as great as it gets! Especially when you are a micro beer connoisseur! I was looking for my usual beers I normally get and get something new that I haven't had.
