Really great service here! We needed to pick up a Johnny Walker Blue for a friends birthday. Price has remained the same over the past 2 years so that was nice. It was in a locked case. We had to call for assistance. We wanted to do a spoof gift with arbor mist inside but they didn't sell it here. Couldn't find another cheap $5 wine alternative for the spoof so we let it go. Used to go here until recently. It was always two or three more dollars for products, but I didn't mind because the selection was decent. Then they started not having items and then the service tanked. They'll tell you store policy for everything yet in the years I was going, these store policies didn't exist. Then they will turn around and not apply this policy to another customer. If you go at the right time, when the nice employees are working, it's fine. But not worth paying extra anymore. The new to San Diego place that is similar to BevMo is always happy to help, consistent with prices, stocks their shelves and doesn't pick and choose customers to apply store policies towards. There is no question BevMo is the go to for Booze. But they surprise they don't always have what you are looking for! Sometimes they don't have it and don't know when it will be in. Sure, I'd like to buy from local liquor stores more often but the prices are always fair at BevMo and the staff is helpful and unbiased. Selection is epic, even at this smaller BevMo. You could spend an hour here perusing all the strange beverages and spirits from around the world. Staff is cool too. I've been to my share of local liquor stores where the service wasn't the best. Sometimes they would try pushing me towards other brands that were more expensive. BevMo just gives me recommendations based on what I'm actually requesting or what their staff has actually tried.. I walked up to their doors at 9:57 p.m. and the worker would not let us in. I explained that we would be in and out as we knew what we were grabbing and where it was located and the worker REFUSED to let us in. When the store hours close at 10 P.M. Kind of surprising how much good stuff there is in here. Prices are decent. If you're just looking for deals, though, you can find super cheap alcohol here. No doubt. Join their club and get lots of 2-for-1 and deep discounts. If you're on a mission for cab, for example, and want something good (first and foremost), I wouldn't expect prices to be significantly less than anywhere else (vons, Costco, etc). However... I will say that their selection is really very good. It's a better selection of red wine than I've seen in awhile around here. Fun thing that surprised me: they have cheeses! A few kinds of Brie, etc. And they have crackers, crostini, and things to spread your cheese on. I also got a pretty solid tapenade here. I really had no idea they also had snacks. Lovely! So disappointed with service we received today!! At a time when we should all have more curtesy and lightness towards one another from stores we are giving our business to, BevMo was the worst experience I've had in years at a store. We ordered online for a pick up today, recurved our pick up time and I stopped by to pick up our order (which mind you was a couple hundred dollars) the attendant, Sam, was so rude!!! He kept shouting at me if I was was with different companies....I tried to give him my order number and name and he sharply told me "that doesn't help me!" Once he found my order I asked if he could help me bring it to the car and he rolled his eyes. Then placed the box on the counter and told me I needed to sign. Mind you all the while.....the store was empty!!!! After being treated so rudely for about the 7 mins I was in there, he told me to wait and then he'll help me out. I've been to a BevMo! in LA and it felt surreal; almost like walking down aisles of candy-puff clouds with sugar-coated sprinkles floating about. This establishment of the branch, found in Escondido, is no different. I walked in and was greeted with friendly service; as always :) I made a B-line straight to the rum aisle and picked up my Cruzan Rum with no delay. I also decided to inquire about ChocoVino with a customer rep and got the help I needed. All in all, I will always support this place because they have such a large variety of wines and spirits that you just can't go wrong. Bevmo requires you to swipe your drivers license to make a purchase even if you are paying by cash. I am in my 70:s and clearly pass the age requirements. They have NO business recording my name, address, drivers license number, etc in order to make a purchase. This is a clear invasion of privacy. I will not shop there again. read more

I always go to bevmo for random bottles to try yesterday i went in with a couple friends one bought beer, got id'd, one bought solo cups and a root beer to get id'd still. I get store policy, but when i went up with my bottle they wouldn't let me buy it because one of my friends didn't have his ID he was in no way paying for anything or part of the damn transaction horrible customer service. I think this is the location I went to, but I'm not 100% positive, as I'm not from the area. Went here looking for some Cuervo Tequila Cherry-Limeade Margarita Mix, which was the signature drink at my daughter's wedding. She and her fiance and friends had been searching all over San Diego to find this mix, and only came up with a few bottles. Alas, it was also sold out here- but then the sweet salesclerk Jo said she would ask her manager to call around to other BevMo!'s to see if it was available elsewhere. Chris the manager did just that, and within minutes the 5 bottles of mix were waiting for me at the Mount Carmel store. Jo and Chris saved the day (which was the next day!). This is a smaller BevMo than I'm used to, but they carry everything I'm looking for. Their wine, beer, and spirits selection are huge, their prices are great, and their service people are friendly and very helpful. From high-end products to well brands, they have all that and more. As well, they have a little craft soda shelf that I always visit to grab a few bottles of something for my kid. They also have a cheese and charcuterie island, cocktail mixers, snack, glasswear, and they even supply kegs! So in a nutshell, they have everything every other BevMo has, and being new to the area, I am glad they are here!!! read more

It's hard to watch 3 employees socializing at a closed register when 6 people are in line for the 1 register that's open. When I mentioned "maybe this isn't a great look for the business" the response was "we're required to fill GoPuff orders as a priority." Hit BevMo! today to restock on beer. I'm a fan of BevMo! and usually do a big shopping trip there once per month. Today we loaded up on beer and a few additions to my bar inventory. Here's what I love about BevMo!, they have a huge selection of everything beverage, from soft drinks, to beer, to mixers, to the hard stuff. They even have a small stock of snacks, cheese and meats, so you can throw together a nice meat and cheese platter to go with your drinks. But, be prepared, it's not like they can carry EVERYTHING. The prices are average and if you'r a member you get discounts and you earn a 5% savings certificate after every $250 spent. It's kind of stupid, though, if you think about it. Really? 5%? Kind of lame. That means that when i drop $150 a month there, I'm saving a whopping $7.50. WHOO HOO! Doesn't even cover the tax, you know? But, I guess it's better than nothing. The staff is pretty decent. They do ask you if you need help if they are near you in the store and everyone has always been friendly. Some are better than others when it comes to the ringing up part and they've been helpful with looking things up for me when I've asked in the past. They have some tastings on Friday nights... maybe Saturdays, too, but I've only been there when they've done that on a Friday. Overall, I'm a fan and I recommend BevMo!; especially if you're looking for something unique to drink.
