I've been to Best Pizza Escondido a few times now, especially for happy hour... it's hard to say no to their $6 Spicy Strawberry Margarita. Super delicious and definitely does the job. But what really made me want to write this review was recently hosting my husband's surprise birthday party here. Andie and Mari were incredibly helpful and attentive from start to finish. We were able to reserve the front patio for our party of 12, they graciously let us bring in our own cake, and they even surprised us with complimentary desserts. Such a thoughtful touch! Shoutout to Jack as well! amazing service, super cool, and one of the best servers we've had. :) As for the food, we pre-ordered several pizzas for the party and everything was fantastic (I wish I had taken photos, but I was too busy having fun). It's deserving of the name. I think. I still need to try the four other pizza places in this area. But for now it was good. The establishment seems like a decent place to grab a drink on a Friday night. I'd go back here for a drink before I ever go back to Pounders again. The service is okay. But if you're gonna bring someone's pizza, why not a couple napkins to go with it? And since you're already there after dropping off my food, why not pick up some of the many dirty plates and pizza pans lying around the fire pit. Why go back to the kitchen empty handed? Another five star review for BP&B: they have been very consistent with the quality of the pizzas we have enjoyed there for at least the last eight months. The toppings are generous, the staff is attentive and the beer / bar service is good. Even though I am Sicilian, yes, I do love pineapple, jalapenos, and pepperoni on my pizza. It all started when a small group of my friends had our usual quarterly get together and the theme was Mexican food. Well, I had little time to prepare something homemade, unfortunately,...but fortunately this flavor + ingredient combination came to mind. It was a hit. The spicy pepperoni is calmed down by the sweet chunks of pineapple, and the jalapeno kicks it up while the mozzarella calms it back down. Shout out to Samantha for always stocking Stone's smooth MX Lager: Buenaveza. The salt + lime that is the backbone of this beer is so complimentary to their pizza! We'll be back soon! read more

I'm so glad we finally checked this place out! It's one of the few spots in Escondido that actually serves green beer for St. Paddy's Day, which was a fun touch. I went with the two-slice and a pint combo. The Detroit-style Burrata Sausage Hot Honey was the standout for me, but The Works slice was also loaded and delicious. Since it was Tuesday, I couldn't pass up the $6 Margarita special. And we couldn't end the evening without the Best Cookie with vanilla ice cream for dessert! So yummy. We sat at the bar and the service was super friendly. The layout is much bigger than it looks from the front, including a great outdoor patio in the back. This location is way bigger than I would have thought! We have a Best Pizza location near us that is pretty small so I was surprised to see how large this one was but how great to know. This location is walking distance from my hair dresser so we came after a hair appt because we were so hungry and they have great deals for slices of pizza. We each did a slice of pizza and a drink and shared the larger size cesar salad. This location also has a full bar along with great beer and wine options. I really love a spot with slices of pizza so you can try multiple different slices if you want. The people that work here are super friendly and attentive to you especially when you sit at the bar area. I can tell this was a popular spot in town. It was lively inside but still a welcoming atmosphere. Luckily, there was place for me to sit after I placed my order at the front counter. The staff were really friendly while keeping up with the busyness. I thought they forgot about my caesar salad. I usually like to eat it along with my pizza. It finally came. My family and I came in from out of town to meet with friends, and they suggested we try Best Pizza & Brew. We all jokingly said that this place better live up to its name... and it sure did! They have some of the best pizzas and house beers around. Their buffalo chicken pizza was one of the best we've had, and their house hazy and west coast IPAs. The restaurant is comfortably casual with lots of covered outdoor seating areas. All the staff we interacted with very friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that Best Pizza & Brew doesn't have locations in OC where I live. read more

I came here for a quick bite to eat on a weekend with a friend after doing some shopping nearby. They recently opened in the Escondido area. There is quite a bit of street parking nearby and the area is pretty walkable. Just like other locations I have been to, it's pretty small on the inside. They did have an outdoor patio area though that added extra room. They had several TVs inside and outside. You order at the counter, they give you a number, and bring you your food. We both ordered the pizza with the hot honey on it, but my friend ordered the New York style instead. Mine was a good size and tasted very good, I would definitely recommend it. Hers however was very small, just a small square of pizza. It also didn't really seem to have as much of the toppings on there, especially the sausage. She said the flavor wasn't as good as the regular slice, and she was a bit disappointed. She also ordered the Caesar salad which is very standard basically lettuce, some cheese, and a bit too many croutons. They have cocktails as well, which I didn't try because it was a bit early in the day, but definitely will the next time I go back and it's later in the evening. During my visit I just ordered the flavored San Pellegrino, which I always like. The servers were pretty nice, and there was a gentleman going around and checking on all of the tables as well, to see if we needed anything. They do have an area for you to go and grab napkins and peppers and cheese packets. They also saw merchandise near the register, and even have a combo deal with some of the items. I'm glad we finally have a best pizza in Escondido, it will become one of my regular spots soon I'm sure. read more

One of my favorite gourmet slices places, so happy we got one in Escondido! We usually go to the one in Carmel Mountain if we're going to a movie at Angelika, but this is close to home. I usually get the 2 slice combo, or the slice and a house salad combo. If I don't need much I get 1 slice or a 2nd slice to go for my Mom or lunch the next day. Favorites are the meat lovers or best white, and the knots are good. Price is similar to Mr Moto for slices. Best Pizza has a deal that slices are cheaper the last hour, a great deal if you're not picky about what you get. Staff are all super friendly and helpful, like the other locations I've been to. I usually eat quickly inside, or get it to go. On Valley Parkway near the downtown area, so parking can be a little tricky at some times. They do have a small lot with 1 handicap spot and some regular spots. Plus there is some street parking and a public lot across the street. read more

But the wings... my God. These are not wings. These are engineering. Perfectly juicy, perfectly cooked, with flavor that makes you pause mid-conversation and reevaluate your life decisions. I have never experienced wings like this anywhere else. Then came the bacon Wagyu burger with avocado, which was recommended to me. Absolute perfection. Balanced, rich, and executed at a level you normally only find in Beverly Hills or La Jolla -- not in what I jokingly call the "forgotten lands" of Escondido. And then... the night ended with what I can only describe as a masterpiece: a warm chocolate chip super-cookie topped with ice cream and raspberry purée. This thing should be in a museum. I may or may not have guarded it from others at the bar with strategic positioning. The atmosphere here is outstanding -- relaxed yet upscale, comfortable yet refined. You can come here for lunch, dinner, or just to reset your mind. And of course, special recognition to Mari, who runs the place with exceptional professionalism, precision, and class. You can immediately tell when someone takes true ownership of their environment. Everything operates smoothly, efficiently, and with care -- and that kind of leadership always reflects in the experience. Best Pizza & Brew in Escondido is one of my reliable go-to spots, when I just want a quick slice and not a whole pie. I almost always grab pepperoni slices and the buffalo chicken you really can't go wrong with either. They also usually have some solid cider options, and when they have something like a blueberry cider, it's an easy yes. The location right on Grand in Escondido is perfect, especially if you're bar-hopping or grabbing food before heading somewhere nearby. Just a heads up: parking is very limited, so plan accordingly. I also always order the fried calamari, I know it's kind of random for a pizza place, but it's actually really good, especially with the marinara on the side. On top of all that, the staff has always been welcoming and friendly and I've never had a bad experience here. Good food, good drinks, good energy. Definitely worth stopping in. read more

I know they have vegan cheese options but our vegan at home likes no cheese rather than vegan cheese, so we did a 12" vegetarian to go and two meat slices to go. Quick turnaround, 14 minutes from ordering to boxed and ready, just enough time to split a beer. Cons; it is loud and hot, the inside was unbearable with the open kitchen. We arrived at 7:00 p.m. on a Friday night --- peak time for a pizza and brew establishment. The dining area was nearly full and the carry out and delivery counter was running full force. But a staff member immediately took our dine-in order on an efficient hand-held device, with no hesitation or confusion. He helped carry our drinks to a table. Amazingly, the two pizzas came out in less than 20 minutes! The crusts were properly cooked and the toppings were commensurate with price. About the right amount of sauce. The 12" size pizzas we got were enough for two people, or two meals for one person --- plenty. We didn't sample any of the brews. Staff stopped at our table to cheerfully clean the table, bring packets of red pepper, and again to bring take-home boxes. Despite the busy atmosphere, staff were cheerful, attentive, and readily available. Not the place to watch a big sporting event. We came to watch the World Cup, but the TVs were either muted or the volume was so low that you couldn't hear the commentary, while the background music was much louder. When we asked if they could turn the game audio on, we were told they couldn't because of licensing. Whether that's the case or not, it made for a disappointing experience. We ended up leaving because it just wasn't enjoyable. If you're looking for a place to actually watch and experience a game, I wouldn't recommend it. read more

I would like to consider myself a regular at Best Escondido and I love the whole staff here. Always super attentive, the pizza is great, garlic knots are the best in town and the beer is always cold. But I would really like to say that Itzel is my favorite server. She knows I want another beer before I even do. She never lets me go thirsty. She regales me with stories of her fascinating life. I ordered the Best Salad. It was so refreshing. I loved it. It was sweetened by some honey or sugar coated nut and counter balanced by the cheese. Would definitely recommend. We also ordered the buffalo chicken. It was a bit oily. Good but I wouldn't say something extra special. The 12 inch gives you six slices overall. My husband and I shared a 12 inch pizza and the salad. I think that was enough for the two of us. I wanted to try their combos so that I could try some of the more special looking or unique looking pizzas that they have but their display for single slices had flies in it so I didn't want to order anything from there anymore. Used Uber Eats, I had been craving a nice wood fired pizza & let me tell you this place is it! I was in a terrible car accident had third surgery & today was my post op day at home so I decided to give this a try. Best decision ever, if anyone's had surgery they know post op meal always hits! We placed an online order for a pizza, wings, and salad. We received an email confirmation at 6:59 pm noting our order had been received and would be ready between 8:00-8:05 pm. The wait seemed a bit long and my husband called to confirm the time noted on the confirmation was accurate. With the time confirmed, we waited over an hour for our order. When we went to pick up our order, we were informed that they could not find the pizza. It's about 8:20 pm at this point and we're starving. Nearly an hour and a half wait and no food.
