We came in on a Tuesday night 3/3/26 at around 7pm. We walked to the counter and I was able to taste a couple lighter beers, the server helped me find a beer that I liked. We were served our drinks and put our order in and found a table. The food came pretty quickly and was really freaking good. My husband got the Stinky Chili Mac n Cheese and I got the Turkey Boy Club Sandwich on cheddar jalapeño bread. The stinky style is melted gorgonzola cheese (which is not my favorite so I didn't partake, but my husband verified it was eye-rolling-back good). The interior of the pub was big open and clean. We've always enjoyed the food and excellent brews here . Plenty of room for your groups with 8 TV's. Josh took our individual orders up at the bar Josh was very professional and fun. I enjoyed coming here because I feel welcomed every time I show up, no matter how many in my group 4 or 15.They treat you the same.The ordering process is a walk up to the counter process, which makes it a lot easier. So they can put your order in register immediately without any mistakes. And then they usually read it back to you, to make sure that everything has been put in properly. The food is very tasty. We'd ordered the fish tacos and the new menu item to shrimp tacos, as well as the new lunch special, which is a half sandwich or a 3 piece chicken strips with fries or a salad for 10 bucks, usually run in monday through friday from 11 to 2. Ive visited this location a few times and I always enjoy it . The staff inside are always kind and courteous. Although there is always a crowd ,the area is tidy and service is fast . This visit I had Volcano fries . They're delicious and I recommend them highly . They're covered in melted Gorgonzola cheese and chili .They're perfectly seasoned and pair so well with the Stinky burger . I also tried the raspberry wheat ale . While I can't comment on the food, this is a great spot to stop and grab a beer. We had been on the road from Kingman and decided to stop in here after a stop at the park to play. Bakersfield parks are sketchy, so we figured a brewery was probably the best bet for being kid friendly and safe. Sure enough we got here right after they opened and the staff was super friendly. Really great space indoors and out, we were glad to be able to sit outdoors with our dog. Really cool layout and I was shocked to see a Bultaco motorcycle inside as those aren't seen often. Great beer selection, I had a hard time deciding. We grabbed the pumpkin ale since it was seasonal and a hazy ipa. Our daughter was stoked on the root beer float they had too so everyone was quite happy. Good beers, neat location, and super friendly staff. Both of our meals were fantastic! I even walked back to the kitchen and complemented the cook on our way out. He was very thankful and appreciated the compliment. Service was excellent as always. This place is a family favorite! The customer service is always great and the portions of the food is HUGE! The beers are too good to pass up, as well. The ever popular Zeus Imperial IPA has got almost 10% ABV. My favorite is the Blueberry Kettle Sour Ale. But honestly, every beer I've tried has been amazing. Whenever I'm craving Fish and Chips, this is my go-to. My absolute favorite is the "Stinky" Fries. Even when I'm not drinking, the food here is a must. They have a unique assortment of food, and you can't go wrong with anything on the menu! The kids love their burgers and the corn dogs. Today, I tried their Fish Tacos for the first time. One of that best I've ever had! It's full of cabbage, cheddar cheese, and spicy homemade creamy salsa dressing, and the cod is abundant! The hubby tried the "Old Lengthy" dog, and although he thought the portion was small for the price, he enjoyed every bite! It ended up being worth it. Highly disappointing. Husband and I dropped in for lunch. Place looked okay. Was awkwardly greeted by the bar staff as they tended to their usuals and told us to sit where we wanted. Booths are ripped up, and not very clean. Husband had pastrami sandwich, I had the Tritip sandwich. Husband says beer was flat and warm. My soda was bad. When the waitress came out with our food, a dog came along with her and was jumping up at our plates as she was trying to set it down at our table. She called him by his name so he's either owned by a worker or is with a usual customer. Either way, it's gross. I love dogs, but that's gross. Overall, terrible experience. This is one of my neighborhood go to's I'm proud to say I was the first customer on opening day some 8 years ago. The beer. Lengthwise is the OG micro brew place in Bakersfield. They invented the game. Sometimes a hoppy Centennial does the trick. Sometimes a super hoppy Citra Cimcoe. I'm always bummed when there's no Barrel Aged Zeus. Don't forget the Root Beer. It's super herbal. The food. ABSOLUTELY. THE. BEST. WINGS. IN. BAKERSFIELD. Still the one of the best trip tip sandwiches I've had. Love the jalapeno focaccia bread! That brings us to the stinky fries. They set the bar high. We want the funk. Don't order unless you like flavor. Burgers are great, but not my thing. Then there's the stoner menu. Don't try and tell me that stinky fries with hot sauce , mac and cheese, and chili on top wasn't created by someone with the munchies. Haha! I've always loved Lengthwise's locations. I've been coming to the rosedale location for about 7 years now. It was fantastic. Always a little pricey, but USED to be worth it. After a year of not going, my fiancé and I decided to stop by again before errands. Just from looks alone, it was very different. I got my usual order: fish and "chips" but sub the fries for a side salad. Their salads were some of my favorites. Yet, upon looks, the fish batter was definitely different. Tried the salad, which you would think wouldn't be much different. It's a salad. But, it was literally flavorless. I don't know how that happens, but it did. Fish was dry and also flavorless. Not sure if they used to make their tater sauce homemade, but it was visibly noticeable that they had changed it to whatever cheap crap Sisco has. $50 for two very disappointing meals. Not including any alcoholic drinks. Fiancé had a tri-tip sandwich that had maybe 3 pieces of meat in it. Used to be so filled he could only eat one half. It has been a while since I have visited this establishment. I have always enjoyed the food and atmosphere. I am not sure what happened but we ordered two orders of fish and chips and they were so overcooked we left without finishing, brown fries and brown fish, it was absolutely horrible.They were not busy at all but the wait was quite long for the food to come out. First time in however we have been to the other 2 locations in town. Never a real let down. Beer is always cold and they have sours for ladies like me that do not like beer very much. Observations on a Friday eve around 5pm is that it was not very busy. Many small kids that surprised me.. they almost outnumbered the adults. I mean, this is primarily a bar but I guess parents need a break too no matter what. Clean, nice space. Good service at the bar. You order, pay or start a tab, grab a numbered stand and go to your selected table. Hubby is a hot dog freak so he got that and I just nibbled on a few of his fries. He liked it! Fries were good. Ok second time here and it was another paint nite and we came early again to dine on their great appetizers. Reason for the two stars: 2 stars for great chili stinky Mac n cheese. No star because they had a black long hair in the ice in the ice machine and the worker said "Oh that's gross" Really? I'm appalled that that's the best they could of came up with, no I'm sorry, no free drink, just that's gross. Nor did they change the ice in the ice machine. Eww.
