Ham Steak Breakfast was so delicious!!
    Ralph S.

On our way home today we stopped to visit friends in Colonial Beach, VA. Colonial Beach is a historic waterfront town on Virginia's Northern Neck, known for its second-longest public beach in Virginia, a vibrant boardwalk, and a variety of water activities like kayaking and boating. Located on the Potomac River, it offers a mix of local history, including Civil War sites and birthplace monuments, alongside modern attractions like breweries, restaurants, and year-round events. Visitors can enjoy the beaches, explore the town's shops and eateries, or take a golf cart cruise to discover the area's charm. Plus we enjoyed delicious brunch at Lenny's Restaurant. Under new ownership as of 2016 Lennys Restaurant is currently run by Shirley Griffiths. For 30 years it was owned and operated by Leonard S. Skeens, who passed away in 2007. Lenny's is a small family style restaurant serving breakfast and lunch. I had their delicious ham steak breakfast and Carol had their Turkey and Swiss sandwich. All in all, it was a good breakfast experience and a chance to spend quality time with some good friends. I'd like to return one day for lunch as the burgers and fries looked pretty darn good.

Breakfast burrito- can't remember the name but it was soooo delicious!

Recently came for Sunday brunch during a family visit. Had to wait for a little while because the place was hopping busy. Let me tell you, the wait was worth it. The food was absolutely delicious and filling. I got a breakfast burrito and could only eat half at the restaurant. I was blessed enough to enjoy the rest on my way home, and will absolutely be eating there again. 10/10

Always fast, fresh, and friendly. Hard not to like the staff and their energy. Great scrapple, crispy breakfast potatoes, etc.

Updated review 6/19: Awww Lenny's, it looks like I'm going to have to break up with you! You've changed, you've been cheating on me! you're bae-con my heart! Whenever we made a trip to CB, we'd always make plans to see you! But we're done! It's over! You know what you did! In case you're scratching your head, here's why I've fallen out of love with you: This past weekend, my sis and niece came to see you. My niece had never met you and we were excited to introduce her to you. Sadly, you made a terrible impression. We sat outside at one of three cute wrought iron tables all with umbrellas and the front door was bright hanging plants and flower pots. Looks can be deceiving though. Our server, Kyle, polite and friendly, was just not efficient. We asked for items several times and he'd come back and forth and forget to bring them. When our food did come out, very slowly I might add, it was awful! My meal: the scrambled eggs weren't scrambled, it was like a big flat yellow blob. I ordered country ham but was served a burnt ham steak. When Kyle brought the correct ham, it was tasteless. The pancake was sad and doughy, they used to be fluffy and golden brown. The grits were lumpy and just plain blech!!! My niece's meal: She ordered Eggs Benedict with crab meat. DON'T ORDER THIS! It was simply gross. Not only did it look disgusting, but when she and my sis tried it, they gagged. It was smelly, fishy and bad. The management made lame excuses when I told them and gave me a hard time when I asked to take it off the bill. Instead of taking the whole price of the entrée off, they just took off $3.50 for the bad crab. My sister's meal: She ordered sausage and eggs which was edible but not great. She and I went in to see about the bill, and we saw that the staff had changed... the short order cook was some young dude who was plating up some nasty looking food. He definitely doesn't know how to cook eggs. We left dissatisfied and disappointed! So, Len, here's your ring back and don't try to call me.... we're over! Some of the photos in this review of are our happier days together. I'll cherish those memories fondly...

Light breakfast, one pancake, one egg, choice of breakfast meat. Just enough!

They were so good that we went back on Monday before heading back home to FL. The customer service was great and the decore and setting of the place was so adorable. On Friday I had the chicken & waffles with a strawberry mimosa and also a tequila sunset drink, which were the perfect amount of sweet. In Monday I had their salmon cakes breakfast which were filled with so much flavor. Our server Kayla made sure that Friday we had a great time. Her customer services was amazing and she was funny and so welcoming.

Here's what I didn't like about Number one see my picture, they served me the platter with a hair on it. I don't send food back but honestly that's not a very good first impression. Tells me a lot about the cleanliness of the place and their attention to detail Number two I really like pork sausage links which they don't have they have patties but not links. They do have salmon cakes which are very pricey and from the way the waitress described don't seem to be quite filling so I didn't order them. It would have been nice to see that on the menu as a side option but I didn't ask the waitress about it Number three. They charge an extra fee if you use a credit card. Plenty of off-street parking. It's in a nice location. Honestly I found this a little bit disappointing because I usually like supporting local restaurants as opposed to chains. I think I would have gotten a better meal had I gone to cracker barrel Price is okay give him the quality and quantity of food Overall I'm not too impressed with this place

It came with two slices of French toast with just the right touch of spices, home fries, and homemade sausage patties (way better than the greasy commercial ones!). I also ordered a plain latte, which was excellent. No notes. My mom (who is 82 and VERY particular) ordered the "Uncle Richard" plate that came with two eggs, choice of meat (ham), home fries, and choice of pancakes or French toast (she chose pancakes). She also reported everything was delicious. ("Although I would rather have hash browns." Sigh. It's always something, ain't it?) She also ordered plain coffee. For someone who does not like to deviate from DD Keurig coffee, she thought the coffee was "Very good!" Widewater Grille gets its Cuban beans directly from Key West. Mom also reported the Women's Restroom was very nice. So there's that for your consideration. We will definitely be going back. Mom (who hates leaving the house these days) even called a friend on the way home and said the three of us need to go together soon. THAT is a better rating than Michelin could even dream of giving.

What a fantastic surprise!…read more My fiancé and I were in town visiting friends and originally planned to go to Waffle House for breakfast, but the wait was crazy. My brother, who lives in the Stafford area and is a serious foodie, recommended Widewater Grill. Honestly, it's the kind of place you could easily drive right past without realizing what you're missing. We are so glad we stopped. I had Uncle Richard's Breakfast with eggs, green peppers and onions, bacon, home-fried potatoes, and French toast. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and cooked exactly right. The home fries tasted truly homemade, which is harder to find than you'd think. The coffee was excellent, served in a real mug, and I loved being able to refill it myself. My fiancé ordered the 12-ounce strip steak cooked medium, and he hasn't stopped talking about it. He said it was cooked perfectly, which is something even many chain restaurants struggle to get right. What really stood out was the atmosphere. The service was friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The restaurant has that local, family-run feel that immediately makes you comfortable. As a retired Marine family, we also appreciated the Marine Corps traditions and military pride displayed throughout the restaurant. Great food, great service, great conversation, and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere. We'll absolutely be back the next time we're in the area. Highly recommend!

I went because they had gnocchi on the menu and I thought how bad could it really be how bad can Italian food be right? I also had read in a previous review about their Caesar dressing and how it had real anchovies in it and it was homemade. I was super excited to have the Caesar salad with chicken as my meal as I wasn't that hungry and I love Caesar salad dressing with anchovies. I'm giving this place two stars because the waitress was extremely nice now granite we were the only people in the restaurant two other couples did come in as we were sitting there. Between the local reviews, the empty parking lot and then the country music on in an Italian restaurant I should've known. But we forged ahead. So we ordered the garlic basil shrimp as an appetizer, it was good. It was fine, but it lacked a lot of flavor. My son then had the gnocchi which he substituted the Parmesan sauce for red sauce and asked for a meatball instead of the chicken or sausage. I again ordered the big Caesar salad salad with chicken as my entrée, along with a glass of wine, that clearly had been opened a bit too long and not properly sealed. The Kohl's frozen garlic bread from your freezer section of your grocery store had more flavor than the garlic bread that came out with my son's dish the two meatballs that were huge in size had no flavor at all while the gnocchi was great and consistency. The sauce itself again lacked any flavor at all. My lettuce was not fresh the Caesar dressing if it was homemade was very thin and watery , and the chicken breast they asked for it to be put on top of it had no seasonings on it whatsoever. I would not go back here and I hope that you reading this considers it, this review and what all the locals told me, before you decide to go. Our seafood pasta was delicious and loaded with a good amount of seafood. The prices are very fair and the service was good. The wine selection was ok. The food was very tasty, that's the most important thing. ( PS: It's completely authentic to have anchovies in a Cesar salad, but it's not commonly added in the majority of restaurants. Because anchovy is usually a love it or a hate it ingredient, it would be helpful to mention on the menu that the Nonna's Cesar salad dressing contains anchovies.)
