WOW WOW WOW! Thank you Lenox cupcakes for making my sister's birthday so special! I live in another state and decided to send my sister a sweet special treat for her birthday from Lenox Cupcakes. It was really easy to scroll through the products that they offer on their website and a very friendly staff member on location helped me process my order and set up delivery. When the delivery arrived, I got a very excited FaceTime call from my sister... The balloons were so beautiful and lots of gold ribbon holding them together. Everything was exactly as promised and described. The cupcakes were incredible... My sister said they were the best that she's ever eaten. I ordered Keylime, strawberry, unicorn birthday chocolate and vanilla. In addition to the cupcakes I also got 2 cake popsicles which had the most incredible decorations. I was overwhelmed with the perfection of their products. They did not skimp on anything! The store even included a complimentary bday card and the boxes were wrapped with gorgeous pink ribbon. Visited February 19, 202 (PRE-COVID) Fun fact: We weren't even going to Lenox Cupcakes! We'd just had a late breakfast from the nearby Sweet Melissa's and wanted coffee and work space for a bit. After having no luck, we found that we'd parked directly in front of Lenox Cupcakes and we saw a single table there with our name on it! This was, at the time a one woman show, ran by Malissa with an A (not to be confused with the Sweet Melissa I mentioned earlier) who was such a nice host, and gave us her entire story of how she got to be here, serving us cupcakes. It's worth listening to if you have the time! We ordered a cup of coffee, the Lemon Cupcake and the salted caramel cupcake. A single cupcake is $3.50 each. Sadly I forget how much the coffee was at the time. As we sat with our cupcakes, the lemon cupcake icing was hitting all the citrus flavors you could think of, and this icing was amazing. The salted caramel also had a nice icing as well that we both enjoyed, though I thought the icing was much more sweet with barely any salt component. The actual cake part of the cupcakes were a little more dense for cupcakes and not as moist as I would have liked, but married with the icing, I thought these were pretty good treats! Parking at Lenox Cupcakes at first glance seems tough. We got lucky parking along the street directly in front of the shop, and there is parking directly across the street near the square. Staff also mentioned there ALSO is a lot behind the shop that you can park in as well, so look for that if you don't have luck finding parking elsewhere. While I thought the cake part of the cupcakes weren't the best "cake" i've tried, not being very moist, the icing and the story from staff is more than enough to give Lenox cupcakes 4 stars from me. I needed some chocolate cake in my life and targeted Lenox Cupcakes to fulfill this demand. This little bakery is located right next to fab gift shop Wild Oats & Billy Goats on Ponce in downtown Decatur. Almost strolled right past it. The enthusiastic lady at the counter walked me through the offerings and was encouraging me to purchase many many cupcakes but I resisted. It turns out that the more you buy, the more you save. One cupcake is $3.50 (before tax), and I procured two for $7.00, selecting the following chocolate cupcakes: - Dark Chocolate Bliss: "Belgian dark chocolate cupcake with Callebaut dark chocolate cream cheese frosting" - Cookies n Cream: "Belgian dark chocolate cupcake topped with cream cheese frosting rolled in crushed Oreos" The cake components received my seal of approval, being moist, more on the dense side, and featuring a strong chocolate taste but not being too sweet. I was warned that the chocolate was intense but I knew I could handle it. However, I thought the frostings were too dainty for my tastes. Personally I like my frostings to feel more substantial, but that's just me. It's definitely nice to have a cupcake shop in the area for cake cravings! read more

Decatur Square is full of lovely local businesses, and I decided to try one today! Lenox Cupcakes sells a number of cupcake flavors; their most popular are red velvet and key lime. I opted for their red velvet, and it was delicious! I've never had a cupcake where the cake part of it was so perfectly moist and sweet. The cream cheese frosting was the least sweet part of the cupcake, honestly, and the least sweet version of cream cheese frosting I've ever had; it had a bit of tang to it actually. Sadly, Lenox Cupcakes Chamblee is closed on Mondays but never fear! They are open in Decatur on Mondays! My husband had a team member's birthday to celebrate on Monday and we wanted fresh cupcakes to celebrate. I called ahead with my order and found it super easy to park on the square (completely dead at noon on a Monday in COVID!), run in, grab the cupcakes, and head back to Chamblee. The birthday cupcakes are so special. The lightest, most delectable frosting you can ever imagine on the perfect chocolate and vanilla cupcakes with super cute sprinkles. I've yet to meet someone who hasn't immediately said "WOW" after taking a bite. Lenox Cupcakes really takes it to the next level with their amazing frosting! The Decatur store also has the CUTEST party gear! I found it incredibly hard to resist buying all the paper plates and napkins to go with the cupcakes. Its definitely a one stop shop to make a birthday special! Super COVID friendly too - only one employee in the store and she was wearing a mask and was very careful in packaging and handing over the cupcakes. You can request individual packaging for cupcakes if you're trying to keep things separate, but the box of 6 is also easy to lift out a cupcake without touching the other ones. The key lime cupcake is really good and so is the lemon blueberry. I also like the red velvet cake and carrot cake. However, we ordered a vanilla cake one year and it was kind of bland and wasn't very good. I do recommend everything else though. The carrot cake was good. read more

But all 3 times I've been in, and have met 3 different employees, they all have the same attitude-I'm bothering them by ordering 2 cupcakes. In my opinion, $4 is way too much to charge for an average cupcake by a Gen Z'er who makes it clear that they don't want to be bothered at work. Nothing about Lenox cupcakes really stuck out to me. The two flavors I had were salted Caramel and lemon. For a lemon cupcake it was unfortunate that the only hint of lemon was the dollop of it on the top. Otherwise it was really just a vanilla cupcake. They were pretty basically and lacking in flavor. The shop was well kept and the girl at the register was friendly. However for almost four dollars a cupcake I think I would pass. I can make better cupcakes myself. I got a 6 pack of cupcakes (even though I was only going to get one or two), because I couldn't decide what I should get. Here's my order: 2 vanilla birthday cake 1 red velvet 1 cookies n cream 1 lemon lavender 1 key lime The icing on each one was so rich and creamy! I could've eaten it by the spoonful (hmmmm...I wonder if they sell tubs of the icing ). The cupcake itself was so moist and delicious. Honestly, the cupcake (without icing) could stand alone, and I'd still love it....BUT...the icing...the icing really makes it all come together into a cupcake of such incredibly delightful flavor and texture that you won't care that you're probably eating more than your allotment of daily calories, for the day. This is their second location. It is a really cute store to visit and the person who worked there was so nice! As for the cupcakes, they were excellent. We got a dozen of the minis ($18 or $1.75 individually)and the red velvet cake was so good! The cream cheese frosting is a little more tangy than I prefer, but everyone does red velvet differently. So if you enjoy tasting the tang from the cream cheese, this is perfect for you. The strawberries and cream was an interesting flavor too, had a little jam on the bottom. Then the typical vanilla and buttercream were my least favorite for some reason, it had a course crumb and was compatibly dry compared to the other speciality flavors! The carrot cupcake was not a strong flavor (not strong spices) for carrot cake, but delicious and perfect for my 6 year old who never had it before. All cupcakes were moist and not overly sweet (in my opinion). Definitely way better than another local place we tried. Here's a parking note: it's hard to find street parking, but across the street in that paid lot is a single spot at the end for "15 min customer pick up". If you are just going to pick up cupcakes you can jet across the street and be back before the 15 min is up! Enjoy!!! read more
