I was distressed when I returned to the Park Slope store in January 2023 only to find it had closed. I tried to locate someone from the store but failed to locate anyone. My eyeglasses had shattered internally, and the visible cracks on both lenses were long and distracting. I'd never had a pair do this. I had always been treated with great customer care, and I now felt abandoned! I almost called the Better Business Bureau, but held off as I like to give the benefit of the doubt. Another local optometrist thought the lenses were plastic and not polycarbonate. That was impossible I thought! Needless to say, as I was about to spend another several hundred dollars at a new store, a new associate recognized me and told me Sam had to close due to higher rents! I never found their goodbye email! Well, Sam and I reconnected! He drove from Queens to my home in the Slope. He took my glasses personally to the Lab, replaced the lenses for free--I was just shy of the warranty--and hand-delivered them before he left on a month-long vacation with his family in Asia!!! I used to need Seal Team Six to help remove them but thanks to the patience and tutelage of Dr. Chan, I've got it all under control. His staff is wonderful and helpful and the shop always smells nice (even through a face mask- there is a sign on the door to wear one so please respect that when you enter).
