She also brought her baby with her, and it appeared that she was trying to rush through my examination so she could attend to her child. The overall experience felt unprofessional and rushed. After waiting 45 minutes and paying $200, I expected a thorough examination, clear communication, and attentive customer service. Instead, I left feeling like my appointment was an inconvenience and that my concerns were not taken seriously. I understand that unexpected situations can happen, but the combination of the long wait, rushed examination, lack of communication, and poor customer service made this a very frustrating experience. For $200, I expected much better care and professionalism & a more in depth conversation about my eyes. Even when I got the trail pair to have to test they still came out blurry and she didn't even have the ones I actually needed available for me.

It is the patient's responsibility to understand their coverage and ask questions if they don't. As far as the up-sell, that is apart of business and they have the option to say no. Now, as for my personal experience, it has always been stellar. My five year old daughter and I both wear glasses and we have been filling our prescriptions here for two years. My most recent encounter was this past September when my daughter lost her glasses. The insurance they sold me during their "up-sell" spiel actually saved me $400.00. Additionally, Jennifer was amazing and was kind enough to ask if she wanted to have her eyes rechecked before they filled the prescription, which was just a little over a year old. She did not have to do that but took the time to do so anyway; we were not charged for the exam. I could be here all day with highlights on the service they provide, but honestly, it is not about the service they provide but the level of expectations some patient's have. I am an informed patient with realistic expectations; perhaps this was not the case with the previous reviews.

I was told that an employee at another metro optics location had submitted a claim for someone else under my insurance, which meant I wouldn't get my glasses. I then called my insurance company and filed an insurance fraud complaint. After making numerous calls my insurance was reinstated. To make a long story short, this location is very unprofessional and racist against black people. Because it's no way that I should have to wait this long for a pair glasses, especially after the insurance fraud issue. I believe that management at this location is personally delaying my order. The owner(s) of this business obviously do not have any standards for their employees. I definitely would not recommend this business to anybody. In fact, I plan to explore the option of filing a lawsuit against this business for insurance fraud and unnecessary pain and suffering.

A straight up con artist!!! I walked into this store 3 different times... asking if they took my insurance. The 3rd time I was greeted by Melissa Vasquez, who then took my information and came back with an amount that was wrong. That should've been my first clue. Not that it mattered because she never billed my insurance. I was told there was an Optician and I could get an eye exam. Since I didn't have a prescription, I agreed. The hook, if you don't make an eyewear purchase there's a charge $ of who knows how much because it kept changing as she can't keep up with her lies. I had my eye exam and all went well with the Optician. Absolutely, no complaints there, one star for exam. As soon as I walked out of the exam room and the Optician handed her the eye prescription, she was quick with her pen and pad, writing what I needed and numbers $$$... I asked to see designer eyeglasses but they didn't have what I wanted. After choosing a pair, she hit me with $1,038. Absolutely not, I responded!!! I asked her to show me what my insurance covered and she said, "nothing!" What do you mean, I responded? She then directed me to a wall of frames, which she said, "those are free!" I quickly thought, what free? I'm sure she meant what I was asking for, frames covered under my insurance. I ended up settling with a pair of eyeglasses for the amount of $780, not even designers. Although, I have very good coverage it was still too expensive. In the past, the most I've paid, for designer eyewear has been under $200. Now comes the doozy! We went back and forth with my insurance, I must admit that I really didn't understand what she was saying because it didn't make sense. She was hustling me, as if I was dealing with someone from the streets. She not only, got me to pay $780, but I signed up for a Care Credit Card that I didn't need. Why? The back and forth was ridiculous!!! I had to make a purchase or lose money for the eye exam. What a scam!!! But still, what I didn't realize at the time was that I was being charged upfront and my insurance wasn't billed and I had paid for the whole amount. What happened to accepting my insurance??? So, $780 minus my insurance. Right? The amount of my insurance coverage, that she threw at me at the beginning was incorrect... which lead me to believe that she never really checked it and had no intentions of billing it. BTW... Melissa Vasquez has no business ethics whatsoever!!! I say this because twice I had to school her on how to answer the telephone. And later... after some back and forth of I didn't say this or that she lost her temper and shouted at me to bill the insurance myself! According to Melissa, she didn't say anything... Such a liar!!! Did our encounter ever happen? Unbelievable!!! This is not ok!!! This is not done!!! You, Melissa, will not be playing those foolish games with me! To the owners: I would think that they'd want employees representing their place of business to the best of their abilities. INTEGRITY MATTERS!!! and Melissa has NONE, ZERO!!! N0 communication/problem solving skills, honesty, etc.... She is a CHARLATAN!!!

I was buying these without any insurance coverage, since I my insurance only allows either glasses or contacts within one cycle. So, exam was $65 with the purchase of a year's supply of lenses. They have some 1 year for $29 deal, but I have astigmatism in one eye, so I never qualify for such bargains. The woman in charge was apologetic about that & when I expressed that I didn't have a lot to spend, she dropped the required year for me & said 6 months would be fine. I was still concerned about the costs, & the optometrist who examined me noticed this, so he gave me a full exam & then sat down with me & the manager to go through exactly what it would cost. With my expensive, gimpy eye, the price was still a little steep for me, & she ended up dropping another $100 or so. What has often been quoted to me for around $500+ was about $250 in total. The price was obviously a huge plus for me, but even if she could not have gone lower, I would have liked this place enough for 4 stars. The staff was so friendly & made me feel so comfortable with asking questions & taking my time. I've had such pushy, rude experiences at other lens stores, & this was the complete opposite. The store is located in the K-Mart plaza on White Plains Rd. I don't know what insurance they accept, but it was great for a no-insurance situation.

One of my sisters did the research and selected this location as it accepted her health insurance+close proximity to my mom's home as I drove her here. The young lady worked her magic and made my mom feel comfortable during that initial consultation when my mom brought her Rx. What's great is that Kenya speaks both English and Spanish fluently- which my mom felt at ease. Cost was a factor and thankfully my mom's health insurance covered the entire process both the frame+lens. She loved her previous style and color frame because it complimented her so well and her insurance allowed her to select a brand new one (she kept the same frame style) with the appropriate lens. We were given at least 10 business days for us to pick up the glasses- and this last visit, was perfect yet again. Kenya is smooth, showed compassion and what's more, my mom didn't feel hurried.

This is my second exam with Dr. Bernstein. I grew up with his father,(who doesn't remember me,) In any case both exams were handled very professionally. He is a great guy who explains exactly what is being done & then fully explains the results of the visit. He takes his time & answered all my questions. Happy he is so close to my house. There are frames on display, easily reachable and mirrors everywhere to see how they fit. The staff has separate work stations, it allows for privacy and a chance to go over your insurance coverage and plan options if selecting eyewear. My daughter's appointment was handled by an assigned staffer and she was very helpful in showing us new frames. She immediately grabbed a handful of frames that fit her face and was extra selective on color choices after hearing my daughter's preferences. We tried plenty and took our time. She never rushed us to make a decision and we were never pressured to buy anything. When it came down to two frames, one didn't sit right on her ears, the staffer requested the frame technician to adjust them for us. This way we could make a real decision based on comfort and fit. All in all a pleasant experience. As usual! (This is our fourth year coming to this location). A quick review of the Optometrist on site: Dr. Cho is very patient and speaks to my child at a level she understands. He is very thorough and never rushes through the charts and overall exam process. He is personable and talks through each step so the child is comfortable with each apparatus. He asks questions related to the wearer and always checks if the eye wear is worn properly. I highly recommend Dr. Cho for the entire family. We've been going to him for the last four years for each of our care.

It was looking at clear glass on the bottom half. Dr. Leonard Fuzylov said he thought it was just for working on the computer. He took them back and said they were fixed. I was able to see better and gave them a try. 6 months later and I cant wear them. It is plain glass on the bottom. I get headaches and blurred vision.. Same with my husband's glasses. That is not bifocals, plus we were charged over $2k for 4 pairs of glasses. I am now using old glasses from over a year ago and we wont be back.

I had such a bad experience here for my recent eye exam. Not sure if it was the car salesman at the front, or the Eye doctor's fault. I basically needed cvs readers, but I wanted progressive lenses. I have insurance with full coverage. I was charged almost $700. I knew something was wrong. I checked my insurance when I got home and all of it was wrong. I had to bring in proof for the salesman to come correct. The guy said my bad, and refunded me $300. He knew just what he was doing, I gave him my insurance card. When the glasses came in, it was the wrong prescription. Couldn't see at all. So I then had to come in for another exam to correct the mistake. With a different eye doctor. I was crystal clear with both eye doctors. They are readers over my contacts. Over a month later, glasses came back with a line on them, not progressives. So they were sent back again. When they finally came in, 3 months after original appt, the prescription was off. I couldn't see up close, I had to pull back to see. Which is the reason I came in to start with. I left with the glasses, bc who can deal with this incompetency for a 4th time. Here I paid $400 out of pocket for glasses I can't use. He never adjusted the price for the wrong prescription lenses he sold me from the start. Meanwhile I shouldn't have paid more then my copay for this whole ordeal. Yet they try and make you feel like they are giving you a deal with their SPIEL! Spin the wheel for a discount, after I extort you. Place is a joke!

My prescription was exactly the same as from my first exam. I put a down-payment on contacts and ordered inexpensive glasses. The total was $760.00. Two weeks later no contacts, and instead of ordering contacts they only ordered glasses. I asked about the contact lenses. They had not ordered them nor had they any recollection of my having ordered them. Wanted to charge me again for contacts and or give me a prescription to get them somewhere else. My down-payment was $380.00 for what was supposed to be contacts and readers with a inexpensive frame. I refused the glasses without the contacts that were my primary reason for going to this optometrist. After a long and unproductive conversation I am giving them a negative review.
