They lost my glasses since April 3rd. I am still waiting for my refund of $328.00 According to Luxottica, owners of Target Optical, it takes 6-8 weeks to issue a refund. So, they lost my glasses and in the era of fast and quick, I have to give them 8 weeks to keep my hard earn money for my refund. Are they that poor, or they just like to keep our money a little be more? Shame on Target Store, who claims they are 3rd party, however they are on their premises and you think you are going to a Target shop, Shame on Luxottica, who is a world wide company and they are so stingy they want to keep your money, money they did not work for, and shame on their Regional Manager, Carlos Delgado, who said 3 weeks for my refund and now it turns to 8. read more

This Optical is top of the line, let me first start off with entering. I was greeted with warm, welcoming smiles and the Front desk assistant Melanie was great, very professional assisting me in filling out my paperwork as well as making sure that I was comfortable in the machines as she also wiped them down for me (very sanitary) After my pre-testing I sat down with the doctor and he was great as well, making me feel at home and feel like I am not just another "annoying patient". I definitely recommend this optical for all your vision needs, the staff is amazing and go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. read more

I first dropped by Target Optical for convenience. However, the reason that made me stay is Dr. Bernstein. He has so much passion for helping his patients and goes the extra mile (no, milesss) to ensure that you're taken care of!! I am the "allergic to all of the above" person and had difficulty finding the right contact lenses for my eyes, but Dr. Bernstein helped me find the right one! I would like to start by saying i do not write many reviews, but speaking to Mr. Jarvis impressed me very much. i was not given a receipt i was told i would get emailed to me by one of the female workers. So i called the store and spoke with Jarvis, he was very patient with me, so helpful he looked up my information, called me back he took his time and explained every little detail to me, no matter how annoyed i sounded, he remained very patient and helpful. My mother and I visited the College Point location for eye exams and new lenses and the customer service was A++. We usually use this location and everyone there is always so nice. We love Dr.Bernstein!! He is the most down to earth, honest and knowledgeable doctor. Our sales associate Kevin was the best! Kevin helped us pick out lenses, explained our insurance plans and gave us all of our options. Kevin was EXTREMELY patient with us and we appreciate him for it. My review is purely for the quality of glasses that I have received from this target optical store. My review is also based off of a two-year of owning these glasses that were made for me by the target optical store. I brought in my own Oliver peoples frames that I purchased, I absolutely love these frames and needed to have my lenses done. Besides the fact that they tried to upsell me and gave me an odd discount after me pointing out that my insurance should cover more I was overall happy with the customer service. The girl that assisted me was pretty fast at what she was doing and seemed to know what she was talking about so I left my glasses for them and within a week they were ready. Fast forward about a year and a half I noticed there is something wrong with my glasses, I do want to mention that I got the Crystale anti-glare and anti-scratch coating as I always have for all of my glasses. Suddenly after a year and a half it looks like my glasses have a layer of grease on them, so I cleaned them but this didn't help. Upon closer examination and looking at my lenses through the sunlight I can see ripples on the coating on one of the lenses. This ripple effect was causing a smudged and the greasy look through my lenses which prevents me from driving and causes me to get dizzy since it's only on one lens. I have worn glasses for years and I know how to take care of my glasses I've also never experienced anything like this with my lens. Of course I went back and showed them this issue and was told that Because it's almost been two years that they are out of warranty and that nothing can be done to help. These glasses cost me a lot of money and so I took them to a different optical store That I have now been going to - they confirmed that the quality of the coating and the lens is poor and that I would have to replace it. Not only did target not offer me a solution for the poor quality that target did, I'm under the impression that they charged me for a higher-end coating and instead gave me some kind of garbage coating / garbage lenses as opposed to what I was charged for. Needless to say I will never be returning to them. Sometimes time will show the quality of the products we purchase and in this case two years down the line the true (poor) quality is showing through and to make matters worse the company won't own up to it. If you depend on your glasses daily the way that I do I would highly recommend staying AWAY from this particular optical store. read more

Dr Bernstein is great. Most of the staff are nice but do not work with KEVIN. He is lazy and do not even want to fix my glasses when I pick them up. Twice. He even questioned me so many times when I said the new glasses do not fit. He is rude and unprofessional. Why Target keep hiring unkind staff. read more

The optometrist is genuinely great!! Salespeople out here trying to upsell you, though. Inessa lied to me about whether there were options to reduce my price with my insurance, and only folded when I pulled up my insurance coverage on my phone. So make sure you know your Insurance's coverage details and don't be afraid to press the salespeople if something seems fishy! read more

Friendly front office staff!! So helpful! Take your average private practice and suddenly put it in a mall (target) and then accept walk ins!!!! Yeah I know.....you'd think chaos right? Frustrated doctor? Overwhelmed staff? Not in this place. Knowledgeable doctor. Takes time to explain. Tatiana in the front is patient and is able to multitask without skipping a beat. Quick and easy. Made an appointment online which took less than 3 minutes. Showed up to the location, was greeted immediately, signed the informational papers, examined by the doctor, and walked out. Overall experience took in total less than 10-15minutes. I went in for the vision eye test (DMV Drivers license renewal), a regular check up, and last minute I decided to take a photograph behind my eyes to ensure I was healthy in the long run (that part is optional and $20extra which isn't bad at all). Stated to the doctor I haven't been checked in years. He was extremely knowledgeable and was able to break down the information that was relevant to me directly. Was clear with his directions on what I need to do, how to position correctly, and warned me of any sudden movements. Even as he did small talk, he remembered to wish me luck at my new job towards the end which no one does nor remembers. Great guy and employees. Highly recommend and I'm comfortable going back at anytime. read more

DR. MICHAEL BERNSTEIN! I'm not shouting; I'm praising! MB Eyecare is a professional practice located within the Target Optical department in College Point, NY. I have a super complicated prescription and he consistently fitted me with the best prescriptions I have ever had, over the years. I went to Target Optical originally to have a prescription filled (from another practice) and it was horribly incorrect. I only discovered this after purchasing three pairs of eye glasses. Not only did Dr. Bernstein perfectly fit me, but Target Optical refilled the incorrect prescriptions at no cost to me. To top that, I was a walk-in and Dr. Bernstein had already left for the day. An Associate called him at home and he came back to take care of me. I will never forget this. His and thoroughness and professionalism is matched by his thoughtfulness and caring. I would never consider going anywhere else. His state of the art equipment, (including Optomap which diagnoses all kinds of disorders including diabetes and macular degeneration) is amazing. The doctor is always attentive and knowledgeable. He makes sure you don't forget to mention any issues, remembers your last visit, and also makes sure you've asked all the questions you need to. It's always a very thorough exam and it's fairly quick. Usually I do them on my lunch break and that includes picking out my glasses. read more

We had a concern and rushed to get an appointment the same day. (5:20 on a Wednesday, no one there!) The front desk folks were lovely and helpful. The Dr. we saw, Dr. Bernstein, was kind and gentle with our slightly nervous 5-year-old. He checked our son's eyes in a few different ways, with the computer and with a standard eye test. He even gave him the color test at our request. He visually inspected each of my son's eyes and gave him a quick glaucoma test (the puff-of-air test) since there is a family history. He then gave our son a clean bill of eye health and said we could come back in a year. We were recommended to come here by our friend who brought her son for glasses and am very glad we did. In all fairness this review is more about the customer service of the front desk than the actual doctor, but I was in need of an adjustments for a glasses. I wasn't expecting much in terms of service because it was a free adjustment though I wouldn't have mind paying for it either because the glasses were not purchased there, but what I didn't expect was the attitude from the pregnant girl who worked in the front desk when I had inquired about it and how she subsequently manipulated my glasses. The optical store was entirely empty at that point and she had time to text. I came in and asked if I can get a quick adjustment because the glasses is not fitting properly and initially she had heat it up, and then bend the arms once I had said that it was too long. I tried it on; she moved on to flatten some boxes and text. The edge of the glasses were digging behind my ear so I asked politely if she can angle it sightly away from that, and she looked annoyed but had quickly heat it up again and then just pry it open wider and it was too wide now and it slips off my face like before. Within these few seconds she had also moved on to do something else (funny how she seems so busy now when before she was just standing around texting). And at this point I felt bad that I was bugging her too much and I just made the last request if she can tighten it up a little more but not as much as the first time and she basically gave me an attitude and how the thing i was suggesting wasn't possible given the length and material of the frame and etc. But she still try to attempt it and this time she DID NOT bother to heat up the frame and I was panicking a bit because if it had broke, Target would have no responsibilities since it is not their frames. Basically I took my poorly adjusted glasses in the end and went home and tried to fix it myself under hot water. It turned out better. So basically TL;DR: Normally I wouldn't complain about these services since it is free, but I didn't expect this level of pettiness and unprofessionalism especially since she basically could have broken my glasses and pretended to be busy when I was there for those few minutes. It's probably a policy that she personally disagree with, but it also doesn't excuse the rudeness and attitude I was given. Bottom line is she should have chosen a different job if this is the type of customer service she gives. read more

Terrible experience. The women there are so rude. One of them took my eye measurements quickly and improperly. My glasses slide off my eyes very easily. When I had gone to pick up my glasses a different rude woman just handed me them without even checking if they fit. Would HIGHLY recommend you go somewhere else. I ended up going to Costco to get my glasses adjusted -- perfect experience. read more

*UPDATE.. The Manager (Tatiana), Doctor, and Corporate did not resolve this. Well, Dr. Bernstein was able to give me contact lenses, but I walked in for eye glasses not contact lenses. See how this was not resolved? I decided to return the product for multiple reasons: lack of professional response, wrong prescription, numerous trips to their location, warped glasses, and to make matters worse the employee who was there did not know how to perform the return. He sent me to "Guess Services" promising I would receive the refund within a few business days, Guess Services was as confused as I was to why he couldn't print out a copy of my receipt to confirm the return. I asked the Target Associate to walk back with me to the Optical to understand his rationale, when she gets to the computer screen she discovers he had not processed my return, he allowed me to walk out without a processed transaction. Why didn't he walk to Guess Services if he had no idea what he was doing? Why allow a group of untrained employees serve people when handling their money? During a time of crisis? Who is leadership for this place? No one seems to be managing. Dr. Bernstein couldn't help as his response is "he is not part of Target Optical", with no management on the floor these guys have no clue what they are doing. Also, there was a new female staff and when she asked questions her colleagues seemed bothered AKA future mess for future customers. You will thank me for avoiding this place. read more

I made an appointment for both myself and my husband. The appt times were not available for the location in the Bronx so we came here. I have not had this level of service from the location in the Bronx. My husband visited the Bronx location last year to fill his prescription and they were not as exemplary as this location. Dr Bernstein is great, he knows his profession, explains everything and he does not rush you. he takes his time, he has a great attitude, is someone I would definitely go back to. The ladies there are wonderful (marina and laritza) super helpful and also take there time with you, don't rush you and give you honest feedback, they don't try to sell you the most expensive pair and definitely show that they enjoy their job. They took my eyemed insurance and provided all copies of receipt through email. The service they all provided to us was by far the best I have ever experienced from an optician store, we were in the store well after closing and never felt rushed. I would not hesitate to recommend them for your Eyewear and Eye health. read more

On October 2nd, I bought my $300 Prada Eyeglasses to target Optical (since I've always sweared by target!) so I can get lenses. I was assured that my glasses would be back and ready in 7-10 days. On the 12th day (!) after three phone calls from me, they tell me that they tried to call me (somehow they had a different phone number on file than the one i had given them) to tell me that my frames are broken...WTF?! but my $170 dollar lenses were there. They told me that John, the regional manager would try to get me the same pair. I waited for THREE WEEKS, for them to tell me (after me calling everyday since I found out my glasses were broken) to give them a style number from Lens Crafters or Pearle Vision so that I can get some sort of restitution. I give them the style number last Monday, and on WEDNESDAY they tell me that I never gave them the style number and John is taking care of them! On Friday, they hadnt heard from JOhn and they assured me they would call me. Yesterday, I was rudely told they were still working on it after a MONTH OF ME BEING OUT GLASSES AND $400!! and they hung up on me without saying goodbye.
