The staff are amazing , extremely helpful and friendly , the store is nice and clean and well organized Unfortunately my glasses came out extremely thick and unwearable, they are even sticking out of the front .my prescription hasn't changed, in fact it has gotten a little better from -6.50 to -6.00 and I've never had glasses this thick , i always get 1.67 lenses and I always get thin wire frames , I will have to return them , even though I absolutely love the frames. Lenscrafters in 2023 is not the store it used to be. Gone are the $99 + frames. The only frames displayed in their low inventory are the Big Name kind that cost $300 to $600 but are no better quality than the others. We are expected to "order them online" and use the measurements from the last pair of glasses worn. I like to try on my glasses before buying them, particularly because I have progressive lenses and it is important to get the right measurements taken. Give this store a miss. read more

Honestly this store is the best lenscrafters, they are really kind and patient with each customer and will full service on my glasses. I had my glasses stepped on and it was badly bend, and the girl said she could fix it. When she came back, my glasses looked brand new. I'm so happy that Amber was able to fix my glasses. I highly suggest never coming here for glasses because I paid for my glasses on June 20 and when they were ready i tried them on and the girl put the wrong prescription and I had a graduation in 3 days. Then they said it would take 2 weeks for them to fix my glasses and have them ready. 2 weeks have passed by and I called them asking if they were ready and they said no so I waited patiently but then 2 weeks became a month. So I called them again and they said "it will come in today around 1" so I went to get them then the lady said " yea sorry it's not in. You'll have to wait till 4 or even tomorrow" so now I'm heading to the airport leaving for a trip with no glasses. It took them 1 month to fix them and ship in and I still don't have it. I came here tonight to have my daughter's sunglasses repaired. We purchased these for her at the end of May 2016 (different LensCrafters, but they're all the same company). Three and a half MONTHS later ... a screw came loose and fell off, thus the lens falling out with it. She was lucky enough to catch the lens, but the tiny little screw thingie was lost. So I went tonight to have them put in a new screw. First question they asked me, "did you buy the warranty? I hope you bought the warranty". I thought ... you've gotta be kidding me?? So she went on about how she bought it, and she also bought it for her nieces and nephews ... really?? She said they had to charge me for replacing the screw under "Repair" because I didn't buy the warranty for the sunglasses so there was a charge for repairs. I couldn't believe it. So I asked her to look up my file and find the date that the glasses were purchased. She confirmed May 2016. Only 3.5 months ago! I said that it didn't make sense that they were going to charge me to replace a tiny little screw on a pair of $250 sunglasses that were purchased under 4 months ago. Long story short I did not pay to have the screw replaced. But MAN did it leave me with a VERY sour taste in my mouth!! read more

I came into the Metrotown store on dec 27 2022 to correct my progressive lenses (the reading bit at the bottom was too narrow). Instead of immediately offering to replace, the employee took it to the back where it turns out they were experiementing on the lens, trying to do what? Twist it into a new shape? Twice the man tried to convince me that the lenses were the same measurement as before--despite the return policy saying they will do "whatever it takes" to replace the problem if I am not "completely satisfied." Finally he returned the glasses, re-measured my frames (which they did NOT do before when I got the lenses) and arranged a replacement--finally. When I put the glasses on, the lower 2/3 of the left lens was totally blurry---they had heat damaged the lens trying to do what? distort/bend it so it worked? Why?! Thankfully the top left of the lens still worked so I could actually SEE and drive home--of course there was nothing they could do--they damaged my lens irrevocably--and when I insisted they expedite my new lenses (which is all I wanted, and which they guaranteed), the response was very mealy-mouthed indeed. I got a wet, soggy "maybe", which means no. There was no attempt whatsoever to show they were actually sorry and would make sure to put my order higher up on the list. Why not?? They can do as they please. I went in with incorrectly prepared lenses, and came out with a destroyed lens I can barely see out of. The headaches I'm getting already! I have to drive, go to work, and function with these destroyed glasses. I will never, never, return to Lenscrafters. read more

I kind of like this Lenscrafters. Even though its in Metrotown Mall, it's right inside the doors (by the SkyTrain and bus loop), so that I can get in and get out fast. They have a good selection of glasses at all price points, and will also clean and adjust the glasses after purchase, no receipt required. When I was buying my glasses, however, I was a bit annoyed with the salesperson. She kept pushing and pushing on some lame sunglasses offer they had going on, so much that she screwed up my health care benefit discount, and forcing me to make a separate trip to have it corrected. Focus on the transaction at hand, people! Since my eyes were so uniquely screwed up, they needed a few days to order the lenses and make the glasses. Here too, they seemed to forget to phone me. When I called to follow up, the manager left me on hold so long that I figured they'd probably forgotten about me waiting. To his credit, he did phone me back to tell me my glasses were there. The customer service can be spotty, and you need to be assertive with them. I'm not sure if I would go back to them on my next pair of glasses - except for the fact that I'm lazy and they already have me and my crazy eyes on file. read more

First thing to note about, it's not a place to get a glasses if you're in rush. Although service itself, it was ok but I feel the whole "system" in this store is not really convenient for customers due to the following reasons: - They don't have lab on site so it will take more than sev business day to be able to pick up glasses. Definitely not recommended to go if you're on rush. I regret that I didn't read the past reviews properly. - Service is slow. Maybe because the whole thing is digitized and the internet connection is slow. -They help you claim the insurance directly but if you buy 2 pair of glasses, they will only do the first one for you. Ok, if that's the case I would just go elsewhere and claim insurance by myself. - Pricing is not transparent. Don't get distracted by the word "40% off". I got really confused why they charge me high price despite the fact that I got cheaper frame with the discount...I guess the trick is lens is more expensive than frame. Always ask for the "total price" Now the good part: -store hours/place is convenient if you're taking skytrain. Though considering my experience, I would rather take an extra walk to go to another glasses store at metrotown -optometrist next door is good. I would probably go to this optometrist and go elsewhere. -The staff will leave you alone choosing glasses and they don't harass you or do hard sell. In terms of transparency, it's a joke: their 50% off lenses just means they quote you a heckuva lot higher to give that appearance. Quoted me $450 for my high-index lenses, after the discount. They're normally $400 anyways. But give them 4 stars for big selection, big store, and lots of lighting. Gives you the browsing experience and able to walk around compared to those dinky optical stores on Robson. Still a bit surprised they would carry Prada and Tiffany's here. Provided you have a general prescription, you can expect to have your lenses made in an hour. I've never had that fortune even as a kid, lol, started wearing glasses in Grade 4. I had a very positive experience. I needed my eyeglasses repaired. I went in there and was soon approached by a staff member. I didn't get my eyeglasses there but he still repaired by glasses with no hassle. The cost was 0 and I gave a donation to their suggested charity. It didn't take very long too. 10 minutes. The guy that helped me was kind of older with a mustache and caucasain. Sorry, I should have notice his name. Thanks for the help. Would I go there again - Yes. Customer Service is horrible. By the way, this is for the LenCrafters in Kingston, Ontario - Cataraqui Mall. But I tried contacting corporate customer service and they just referred me back to my local store. They are overpriced and don't address problems well. Except to offer me 50% off a new pair of glasses or lenses and somehow the 50% off is about the same price as I paid initially. After two years my lenses were trash. I took them into some smaller optical stores - i.e. not a chain. And consistently was told the lens had a manufacturer defect ... it happens rarely but it does happen. LensCrafters told me to take it up with the manufacturer because they only guarantee the glasses for a year. What sort of Customer Service is that ?? Being told I have to contact the mfg myself. I'm attempting to do that and see if I get any where. But this isn't the first time I've had to deal with LensCrafters Customer Service ... only to get NO WHERE. Be prepared ... buy a pair of glass from them and if you have any issues all you will get is their offer of 50% off their overpriced glasses/lenses ... which will be about the same as you probably paid originally ... because they always have 'SALES' read more

If I could chose 0 stars I would. We had to replace the lenses (exchange) on the glasses ordered for my daughter and were told it would likely take less than the 7 - 10 business days it normally takes. My husband called at 7 days and was told that they wouldn't be ready for pick up because they were waiting for the frames, but the lenses were ready. My husband told them that we had left the frames we had purchased with the salesperson, they have the frames already! All they had to do was place the new lenses (that were in store) into the frames (also in store). At 10 days we have been told it will take an additional 5 - 6 days because they had to be shipped to the US. Apparently, no one in the Burnaby store is capable of placing lenses in frames?! We get a different story every time! Meanwhile, my daughter is getting headaches because she does not have the correct prescription! Very, very, very poor customer service and expensive. I would not recommend LensCrafters in Metrotown to anyone! I'm concerned about what we'll get when they arrive. read more

Bought glasses from Lenscrafters 7 months ago, and lenses got scratched up and blurry, took them in and was told nothing could be done except buy new lenses. I used Armour Etch to remove the "protective" (and UV) coatings and the scratches are 95% gone and i can now see fine with the glasses. Seems the coatings were the problem. Is this an industry wide "practice/scam" to sell more lenses? I won't be getting coatings again, and i wont be buying glasses from Lenscrafters. read more

Misleading. The optometrist has a sign saying eye exams available when it is not true they are just trying to suck you into the store to make an apointment for the future. I complain to Lenscrafters and they say its not their problem it is the doctor. The sales at lenscrafters metrotown the same misleading signage "big sale" always exclude almost anything you would really want. Prices are high. Pushy aggresive underinformed sales staff. Same thing here, I like the Lenscrafters because of it's location - near the mall entrance from Skytrain and adjacent to Metropolis Eyecare Centre. But they hit and miss, the sales staff was attentive but kept on urging to get their promotional offer. Then it took a while for them to process payment so I was not able to get the glasses on the same day as the mall closes early. When I went back to pick it up, I had to wait for 30 minutes more because they said they have mistakenly lined up other requests before mine. On the plus side, I was approved for the 12-months to pay option but I have yet to see the billing statement. read more

Warning to all especially to parents with children who wears glasses: We have bought our daughter's eyeglasses at Lens crafters, had it changed 3 times because they kept breaking. The third one we finally had to upgrade to "titanium" Ray Ban which is just less a year. The frame of the glasses broke and we took it to Lens crafters to get it fixed. The lady told me "OH I am sorry I checked in our system and it's not available anymore, I have not seen it for while" so is less a year frame that old to them? If so they should disclose these types of information when they are having "massive sale" warning those frames are obsolete! I am not going to buy my daughter's glasses there again. read more

I ordered new lenses, using my old frames because they were very comfortable after many adjustments (my head is hard to fit) and I was assured that they would NOT be changed in the process of inserting new lenses. When the lenses were ready I brought my frames in to have the lenses inserted. When I came back to pick them up, they didn't fit any more. Someone in the back room had arbitrarily decided to realign and adjust them in my absence! Now they are uncomfortable and I have to start the process of adjusting them all over again. No one had asked me whether I wanted them realigned or adjusted. I am now told that it is their policy to always realign frames in the back room when they insert new lenses, and that they don't ask the customer whether he/she wants them realigned. That policy is extremely stupid! They just assume that all customers want their frames realigned without even asking them! Lenscrafters need to change this policy immediately, and start asking customers whether they want their frames realigned in their absence. read more

Back when I wore glasses, not too long ago, these guys were great in repairing my broken glasses immediately, however, you get what you pay for. In other words for the 1 hour turn around time it was $$$ but they were there for me when I needed my glasses repaired and for that I am thankful. I agree that their sales people were pushy as she was very persistent on me updating or changing my frames (up selling me). I just used this place for an emergency repair, nothing else. read more

I have been using Lenscrafters for the last few rounds of eyeglasses. The staff is polite and the selection of frames has been good, but the quality has been mediocre. I guess the convenience kept me coming back al these years. Lately, I have been quite disappointed in the quality. My most recent pair are progressives. I have been wearing them for 2.5 years now. I was a little skeptical of going with the Essilor lenses as they seem to be more scratch prone and attract dirt more than the Nikons I used to wear (my pre-Lenscrafter days). Vision-wise, they were very comfortable to wear and I got used to them right away. No nasty experiences that I was pre-warned about with progressives. In the last year, however the lenses have degraded due to a build up of tiny scratches (I always follow the recommendations about cleaning properly) and one lens has developed a crack at the top that has now entered my field of vision. I gave feedback to the staff and they offered to replace the lens with the same prescription. Since my prescription was changing anyways, I did not take them up on the offer. Given the track record of the product over the years, I won't be returning to Lenscrafters. read more

I'm not sure why I keep coming back. They consistently have terrible service and the selection isn't that good. My last experience really takes the cake though. I found an adorable pair of glasses when I was window shopping, fending off the over eager sales ladies so I decided after a while to buy them. Things went okay, except the information they had was totally out of date, I'd been there twice in the past 4 years but somehow the lost all that information. I didn't think much of it, I gave them my updated address, phone number etc. They told me it would take 7-10 days which is a very long time if you ask me. After 8 days I get a call and I'm pretty excited for my new specs, I come in the next day. I don't wait long and the women grabs my glasses. She hands them to me, very smudged, I mentioned it and she didn't even offer to clean them, so I wiped them myself. I then tried on the glasses... man, it was atrocious. It was extremely blurry, there's no way I could see with these. I told the woman and she wouldn't take me seriously, "Oh sometimes it just takes a while to get used to a new pair of glasses" "No, this is like, really bad" "I know, I have a dozen pairs at home and every time I try a new pair it takes a while to adjust" "I honestly can't see with these" "Let me adjust them for you, do they fit okay?" "The fit isn't really the problem" "They don't have nose pads, that can take a bit to get used to" "I don't think you understand, I really can't see with these, I see infinitely better without them" "Well try them out for a bit, you have 90 days to see how you feel about them" "It's within 90 days right now, isn't it?" "Of course,you can just go next store and we'll update your prescription." If I weren't ill at the time I might've given the condescending sales lady a piece of my mind, but I just wanted to go home. I go next door, get my eyes checked, the doctor looks at the glasses they gave me and agreed that they were terrible. I left with my prescription and went back to Lensecrafters to set everything up. During the process I mentioned how they somehow lost my prescription from my last visit and the girl was unsympathetic, didn't seem to care. What? Do things like this happen all the time? That's not exactly professional! She again said that it would take 7-10 days, by this time I was fed up. "Really? Because I waited 7-10 days for these ones and they don't work" "Well, we can't make it any faster because we have to order the lenses." I do eventually get my glasses, much quicker than last time and they're perfect, but I'm starting to wonder if it's worth all the trouble. read more

A lady came to me and asked if I needed help I said yes and she helped another man across from me which came after me I stated that I was before him and she rolled her eyes... WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!. As a salesperson working on commission, one needs to FULLY LISTEN & UNDERSTAND the customer's needs! This young Asian fellow dressed up to look "ornamental" lacks finesse and class to assist our young school age daughters with frame selection. Obviously, he chose not to listen nor see both daughters' small "adult size" eyeglass frames. Instead, he directed us to look at the children's frames section and just said, "There are no other frames appropriate for your children." Then he walked away and stood there swiping on his iPad. I purchased glasses and lenses with a transitional coatings. After awhile the coatings started to disfigure on the lenses almost like they were trying to slide off the lenses. I called to see what could be done and they told me that they could not help me and that I needed to purchase new lenses at $765.00 or buy frames and the lenses could be added for $465.00.
