The place has a new staff and doctor. Not nearly as good as the old crew! I had an eye exam that took 2 hours!! When I picked up my contacts I got home and found that I was short a box. This place told me that if I bought my contacts from them I would get a $75 rebate. I filled out all the paperwork and sent in my receipts. The claim was denied and I never got my rebate. I'll never return to LensCrafters. This was the poorest excuse for customer service ever. I arrived on a Saturday morning, Rx in hand from my optometrist. I had not been to this location in 20 years. The woman who greeted me didn't even offer to take me to one of the cubicles before she hammered me for my Rx and didn't even introduce herself. Her employee badge read something like 'Nirana'. "Could I please be seated before we begin talking? I need to put my umbrella away." It was pouring down raining outside and there was only 1 or 2 other customers in the store. Upon being seated, I proceeded to say that I had a new frame of just a year in age and only needed a new pair of lenses. I don't have a complex or strong Rx, but it had increased by 1/2 diopter in strength... I have always used Zeiss lenses, and Crizal anti-reflective coating with my progressives as I am a software engineer and spend hours at a computer terminal. I only wear these glasses for computer work and reading. I also informed the clerk that I have VSP insurance, AARP and AAA memberships, all of which entitle me to discounts. She responded, "VSP is 'out of network' at LensCrafters." My retort, "May I please have an estimate?" 7 minutes later as she continued busily typing she said, "That will be $938." I said, "Are you serious? $938? For what?". She replied very unassumingly, "Yes." I said, "In 54 years of getting glasses anywhere, to pay $938 for Zeiss progressive lenses without frames is preposterous and a flagrant rip-off.. and that's with the discounts!" I've NEVER paid such an outrageous amount for quality frames, a full examination, and lenses - ANYWHERE. I left, went to Site for Sore Eyes in West Portal (Sterling Optical), and got FABULOUS service, anti-reflective coating, $83 off for VSP filing, $100 off for in store credit, and left tax and title in hand for $375. The lenses will be back in 7 days for installation at the store with the frames that I can continue to use until then.. S T A Y A W A Y F R O M L E N S C R A F T E R S !!!!! they have huge selections on glasses, but the staffs there are all lacking customer service. they never said hi or offer any assistance. i was just a wandering customer. i left after half an hr looking through all the glasses i was interested in getting. i definitely felt like i didnt need to put down my money to this place b/c i felt unwelcome. before i left, i even checked myself what my own insurance covered than bother asking b/c i already know they are a bunch of lazy people. to whom it may concern, you guys need to train your staffs to be more friendly and active. i've worked at a customer service industry for many years, i will always greet the guest no matter what or at least speak to them if they are shopping around and keep in mind never discriminate people by their age or appearance. i will NEVER come back. read more

i came here because i had an appt at costco but i had to cancel so i decided to call lenscrafters and see how much an eye exam was they told me $59.95. so when i go in they ask if im a AAA member..i dont drive!! but luckily my sister is a member so the lady gave me a diff price for the eye exam $114!! so i'm like ok ill do it.. when it came to the pretesting..the guy was freakin duMB!! he did the air thing in my left eye TEN times!! i hella hate that machine and usually at costco i dont have to do it ten FREAKIN times!! so he takes me to the room to wait for the doctor..shes hella nice n all then she recommends that i get my eyes dilated because if she doesnt she can only see 10% so i told her i didnt have the money (which i didnt). and even worse i have to sign in order to get my contact prescription?!?! WTH!! so when i was done with everything, she led me back out where the same guy who did my pretesting had taken my credit card and couldnt figure out what 59+75 was!! i swear the lady had told me $114 but nooo....because i have an astigmatism they were gonna charge me $134!! what i hate even more is that dude was hella tryin to get me to purchase my contacts there for $50 a box!! i told him i was gonna get it at costco bc they only charge $29.95 a box..so he said we used to price match but we dont do it anymore!! well too bad cuz im NEVER goin back to get an eye exam or glasses..they r hella overpriced n im goin back to costco next year for my eye exam!! they juss push u for sales and if i did have the money i probably would.. read more

I just got off the telephone with Angela at LensCrafters and she was very helpful and attentive. My husband and I retired and moved away from the Bay Area one year ago and we ordered our glasses and contacts right before we left. I have had trouble with two of my right lenses not fitting correctly. Well now we're down to the end of the year and I am short two lenses.. I called this morning to see if anything could be done to replace the poorly fitting lenses aunt Angela was very happy to replace the two and mail them to me at our new home in Arizona! Had a great experience here today. Initial intake was friendly with quick, competent initial eye tests. The optometrist was super friendly and genuinely interested in my well being and eye health. She also was very well versed in the various contact lens options from different brands to new technologies, i.e. Toric lenses, multifocal lenses and new comfort technology. Check out was quick and friendly and they made sure to apply my AAA discount to everything. They were very nice and gave me extra contact lens samples for my upcoming vacation since my contact lens order wouldn't get to me in time. Will be going back for future eye exams. I also like that they are close to SF and don't have to deal with parking in the city. read more

This LensCrafters has a nice selection of eye and sun glasses. The staff is friendly and very willing to assist you. I was probably approached by 3 different staff members within 10 minute of when I entered the store to browse for frames. I came here on a Sunday afternoon and it was a bit busy. When I finally decided on frames, an associate came to help me pick out 2 frames I was deciding on and she rang me up. Although the associate was very nice and helpful, it seemed she was kinda working very fast paced and was rushing to ring me up. I think she was also helping another person at the same time. If you come here and don't want to be rushed on making a purchase, come at a less busy time, possibly during the weekday. In all, my experience here was okay. No major complaints here. read more

Not sure what happened to the quality of manufacturing here, but if you want lenses for a semi rimless frame beware. I ordered new lenses for a frame that was a year old. They got the prescription correct but the lens was twice as thick as the old ones and I need the progressive higher . I came back and they tried to give me the old ones back that the technician had badly reground, and did not raise the close up measurement. No one called to tell me they could not make the adjustment. I demanded a full refund for two pair and they obliged. They gave some BS excuse that it was for my own safety to have thicker lenses. They weren't safety glasses. I will never set foot in this store again. I was trying to remember why I had not been in this store for a long time and then it hit me. The last glasses I had made there, they made the left eye prescription for the right eye and vice versa. If I had recalled this, the latest incident would not have occurred read more

Called to see if my contacts came in, the lady that answered the phone put me on hold to check. They usually call when it comes in but the lady said they didn't receive them yet. Called back to ask if they had any trial contacts to hold me for another week, so she put me on hold for about 3 minutes, she comes back and the line and says" While was trying to look for your trials, I found your contacts you ordered, they just came In"...on a Sunday... I had such a wonderful experience just recently that I had to take the time to write a review. I hated wearing the glasses I needed for night driving and distance. Now I love my new glasses so much I forget to take them off, they fit so well, ease the strain and look pretty nice too! Although for the past 20 years I needed to wear glasses for driving, just recently a new night commute made it really obvious that I had to update something about eyesight. The oncoming headlights were painful and I felt that the driving conditions at the highway speed was really dangerous with that amount of vision. Friends who were eye doctors said I probably had glaucoma and cataracts from what I was describing. Painful glare and feeling night blind at 80 mph! Yikes! Well, all that is gone. The testing was really thorough. Everything was explained. The options to correct the problems were really well explained and high tech. I ended up with glasses so great, with glare filters and polarizations I can't remember what it was like to be in so much pain in high sun or oncoming headlights. And no glaucoma or cataracts, thank you very much. I was helped by Rocky and Dr. Lam who spent A LOT of time patiently explaining everything and basically doing a fantastic job. I had VSP insurance, and it covered a lot, I have never paid so little. I was surprised because I needed the add-ons like polarized lenses. The lenses were ready the next day because I came in after 5 pm, and the frames were the nicest I've ever had. Rocky also spent half an hour fixing an old frame as well. Super! I can't say enough good things about this experience. read more

He doesn't know how to talk to people and he made me feel very uncomfortable. I won't go here again and I recommend that you all avoid him at all costs. No Dr. To do the exam. Apparently Dr takes a 90 minute lunch break (must be nice!). I tried scheduling an appointment... "Oh we don't have a Dr that day." Look over for thirty to fourth minutes, zero asks if we needed help. When I approach the counter to ask a question, get the most abrupt "were you ready to purchase?" When informed I had questions, a look of revolted disgust and shock, as though I was asking for a sacrifice of babies. I came here in dire need of contacts. I already had a prescription so all they had to do was order contacts for me. I even got a trial pair which I desperately needed. The staff was more the helpful. I had a very quick and pleasant visit. They didn't have my contacts in stock because I found out that the brand I use is and old brand. Unfortunately I cannot just order any contacts I wanted because I was fitted for a specific brand. Although I have insurance I will be returning for contact lens refitting since my insurance is charging me double the price of what lens crafters is offering. read more

Quick and fast! I made appointment at Costco, went to lenscrafters browse around, saw some I liked and sat down and immediately got service for my husband and I. Aldrin is quick! They take carecredit so that's awesome. We got both ordered sunglasses and prescription glasses, my husband glasses were out by the time we were ordering mine up. He did have to wait for his sunglasses a few weeks but my order for both glasses were ready in a hour! This place can get busy but browse around and I'm sure you will get customer service fast! Really nice experience coming to LensCrafters for the eye exam and the frame selection. Lots of brands to choose from and the staff there are incredible! Rachelle is such a wonderful person to have help you shop for frames. She is incredibly helpful and did everything she could to meet my needs and keep it cost effective. AAA membership did knock down the price considerably! Glasses aren't cheap anywhere, but feeling good in your frames is such an awesome feeling! Rachelle picked out some great frames for me! During the initial part of the eye exam she was professional and knowledgable. When I met Dr. Lam I was also impressed, she is a wonderful doctor. I've been going to this LensCrafters for the last 15 years and have always had great service and left satisfied. On my last visit I worked with the assistant manager, Freddy Pacheco. They don't have the largest selection of glasses but they do have a nice range of prices for glasses. Unfortunately I have astigmatism which always adds more to the cost of exams and lens prices but the employees found every discount they could and I really appreciated that. The doctor was incredibly nice and took plenty of time fitting me with new contacts. I did not feel rushed or pressured into buying anything I did not want. Over the years we've had several members of our family get eye exams and even eyeglasses at Lenscrafters. On this recent trip I asked them to measure my son's pupillary distance which is a measurement that can be made using equipment or with a ruler. This only takes a minute and provides a needed measurement to properly specify a new pair of glasses to fit ones' face. They would not do this simple task. This is the kind of service to expect from a company that you've spent thousands of dollars with. I am taking my family's business elsewhere to where you can build a real relationship with a vendor. This company has a turnover of opticians that are self employed and the company distances themselves from any good or poor performance that the optician offers. While the people may (or may not) be good people, the company management does not promote goodwill by this example and it is up to you to decide if you would want to support this kind of business or perhaps take your money to another business that really wants to make a relationship with you for the long run. read more
