I made the mistake of recommending them to my mom ...who needed new glasses. It was a mistake. She hated everything about the glasses and they did let us switch frames. But they put the bifocal too low so she has to lift up her glasses to read. We brought them back a few days after getting them and the kid worked on them ...tried a few things and said if would take days to feel right since the glasses had caused an abrasion. When she said they still were awful I brought her back and the guy said the gave her bs suggestions and said we were past the time to return. I reminded him she'd had them only a week but they go buy the time of purchase. She paid over 300 for glasses she can't use. So wearing her old glasses. I was furious. read more

This is more a review of the doctor then LensCrafters the store. Dr. Stephen Rogers is really great. He is caring and kind. He takes extra time to make sure your eyes are healthy. The staff helping the eye doctors are always nice too. The staff for LenCrafters are also nice. They greet me every time I've walked in over the years. LenCrafters themselves are way overpriced and the salespeople are super pushy. They will also not work with you on cost at all. I go somewhere else for my glasses because of that. read more

The doc is great, and the store staff are friendly and helpful. I am always excited after an eye exam to pick out my new glasses, and they have plenty of frames to chose from. Despite seeming to always be busy, they are quick to offer a hello and take the time needed to go over options with you so you get the right pair for you. When I picked up my glasses they made sure they were adjusted just right so that the fit was perfect. I'll be visiting this store again. read more

I went in for my first eye exam ever. I've never worn glasses. I've had really bad headaches and thought I may need glasses to read or do computer work. I got a prescription and bought glasses and cannot wear them. They are not even as strong as basic drugstore readers but I don't need glasses. I've always had perfect vision. I broke my glasses and had not had an exam in years, they gave me an appt for the next day. ($130) My glasses were ready in a couple hours but they were busy and after sitting for 40 minutes I had to leave for an appt. (- 1 ). I returned the next morning and got my glasses. Today I went to LensCrafters at Dayton Mall to purchase a pair of glasses. However when I went into the store I was not greeted or acknowledged. I was in the store for 20 minutes and not one associate asked if the could be of any assistance. Others that came into the store after me was promptly greeted and helped. I will share this experience with colleagues friends and family. ... and what is sad is that I just bought a pair of glasses at the Fairfield Mall only about one month ago....and my experience at that store was the complete opposite of what I experienced today. I give Dr. Jones credit for saving my life!! Truly, by taking extra time in his office approx. 17 months ago, he encouraged me to have my eyes dilated. I agreed to the dilation and unfortunately he found a tumor in my left eye. I was diagnosed with ocular melanoma a rare and deadly eye cancer that kills 50% of it's victims. Because of Dr. Jones skillful medical expertise he was able to find the tumor behind my eye before it was too large to save the eye or my life. I can't tell you how many times this is missed by other optometrist around the country. I had radiation treatment and am doing well. I plan to live a long time. I still see Dr. Jones for my impaired vision and he is so kind and helpful. I can not recommend him enough. Then six months ago I took my mom to Dr. Jones for an eye exam. He asked me to step into the hall. He told me my mom was having a stroke and I needed to take her to the hospital. He also gave me a note to give the ER doctors. The note explained where he thought the stroke was located in the brain. He was EXACTLY correct. So now he is credited with saving my mom's life. We joke around here that Dr. Jones is now our family doctor. Thanks to Dr. Jones and ALL the Lenscrafters staff. THANK YOU FOR MY LIFE!! I HAVE A SHOT AT IT!! read more

The guy who I saw was nice and evaluated me in a timely manner. I also forgot that I wanted to get checked for contacts and he was able to squeeze that in even though there were people waiting! Very professional. I always go here for my my yearly. The receptionist in the back seems a little irritated with me adding on the fitting for contacts but the doctor made sure that I knew it wasn't a problem. read more

In a nutshell, the people at LC Dayton Mall are impressive. They went above and beyond to help me, and I am so grateful for their kindness, professionalism, and a great finished product. I had to rush home to Ohio from Massachusetts due to a death in the family, and in my haste, I forgot my glasses. I am very blind, and this meant wearing contacts every single waking minute during a week of crying, which would be hell. I needed to buy glasses, ASAP. First, I called LC on Sat and confirmed that they really do make glasses "in about an hour" (I was dubious), to confirm they would fill an out of state prescription*, and to get their fax #. Monday was a comedy of errors with my provider in MA, where they kept insisting they faxed the prescription, LC said they didn't get it, I'd ask MA to fax it again...repeat. LC was great about this, and when I showed up to the store and the prescription still hadn't come through, the technician (Angela) called MA for me and got the prescription over the phone (turns out my doctor's office didn't dial "1" when she sent the fax. Duh) I picked out the cheapest frames, and after a few minutes of measurements, I was off to browse in the Mall. 1.5 hours later, I received a text saying my glasses were ready. Angela had them waiting for me and adjusted them perfectly. Lenses were half off that week,, and the total was $230, not bad for specs. Having glasses made a tough week so much easier, and LC's customer service was above and beyond. I really can't say enough, except, "thank you." *Note: If for some reason I wasn't able to use my MA prescription or it was expired, LC was going to be able to get me in for an eye exam ASAP. read more

Usually I would go to a private OD, but since I was experiencing an extreme headache, I had to have my glasses fast so I went to this store. The result was, it took 10 days to get my glasses. When I was picking out a pair of glasses I had to almost beg the lady to help me pick out a frame. My eyes were dilated so i wasn't able to see the prices. I had my friend, who is an optician look at my glasses and he said the lenses weren't mounted correctly and the polish was poor. All this at a premium price, not sure if I would ever go back here. read more

I have been wearing glasses for over 50 years and have never had a frame cracked when dropped before. A little over a year ago I purchased glasses from this store. I have dropped the frames twice in that time frame and on both occasions the frame has cracked in different locations. The store manager was of no help as she curtly told me that the frames are discontinued so I would have to get a new eye exam and new lenses and frames if I didn't want to continue to wear my super glue repaired frames. No offer to see if she could arrange to get my lenses to fit into different frames etc. Very disappointing given the thousands that I have spent with LensCrafters on glasses over the years! I can and will get better service for sure and probably better frames cheaper at a number of competitors that are available and I will! read more

My appointment first started off with them not letting me in before my appointment. My appointment was at 9am and they dont open til exactly 9am and they wouldn't let me in any time before that. Why do you have appointments at 9 when you don't open before then? Then when I was filling out the paperwork, I checked the box that said I wasn't planning on getting more contacts, but they do a contact fitting anyway just to tell me that its the same contacts and the same prescription. I already know they fit, I wear them all the time! I just wanted to get my eyes checked. They didn't even tell me it was going to cost more! I had to pay $35 out of pocket for a contact fitting that I didnt need nor did my insurance cover. What kind of business is this? They should have been up front and honest with the costs instead of assuming that my insurance would cover it. That's kind of ridiculous. I probably won't be returning again. read more

This review is not about the providers who administered the eye exams; both of the doctors who examined my wife and I were great. The Lenscrafter staff member accountable for fitting the frames was arrogant and condescending and her behavior resulted in a pretty considerable amount of revenue loss for the company. My wife and I each were planning on buying a couple of pretty expensive frames. They alone would have cost us close to $1000 without even assessing the cost of the lenses. During the fitting we were treated in a very dismissive fashion, and we felt as though we were a bother rather than customers. It was an easy decision to walk away with our prescription in hand and have our glasses made in a far more customer friendly location. By all means get your eyes examined by the providers aligned to the Lenscrafters facility, but run away from the rude, inconsiderate and arrogant staff that sell their frames. read more

I have had a wonderful experience with Lenscrafters this passed week. I brought my daughter in for an exam they were able to get her in that day so I made appointments for the rest of my family through the week and have had a great experience each time. The doctors office staff was very helpful in showing us where to go for our glasses because none of us had worn glasses before and someone was out to help us right away in choosing glasses that would be the best fit for us. Most reviews are for negative experience but we had such great customer service at this office that we wanted to make sure they received credit. Darla and Sarah were very helpful to my family at the doctors office. Some of my family saw Dr. Rogers and half of us saw Dr. Jones and they were both very thorough with their exams and explaining everything to us newbies in the family. Chelsea and Tim have helped us with our glasses and we have all been very happy with our experience all of us getting our glasses in 2 hours! Great service, friendly staff, we will be back next year!! read more
