Got glasses here, I didn't get the 80 dollar option for anti reflective lenses. I waited 3 weeks for glasses, and when I look at any lights now there are giant streaks of light. To the point of them being in-wearable. And all they can tell me is "well we can put anti-reflective lenses in for as low as 37$". Ridiculous! So I paid over 120 $ already for glasses, and now I can't wear them unless I pay more money ?? This place is the worst optometrist location I've ever been to. I've never had "anti reflective lenses" and never had this problem with lights. I would not recommend going here. read more

overpriced and didnt fully explain things. said i had a cataract-i had to ask if it was ready to be handled and where. Dr J and assistant mumble readings, like it's a big secret-irritating. then did contact exam, said 2-3 business days. had to call after 2 weeks. problem with the order not connecting. This place is an absolute joke! I ordered my glasses they told me 7 to 10 business days before it would come in 14 business days later I gave them a call trying to figure out why I haven't received a phone call from them and they told me it's red flag I'm gonna have to get my glasses somewhere else they were literally never going to call the customer The prices are absolutely ridiculous and on top of that the customer service is beyond a joke it's actually awful I wouldn't treat my worst enemy the way they treated me. A response to their response: I understand things happen but you must not have even read the review because you completely missed the point. The fact they didn't even call me & I had to call them is completely unacceptable. I wasn't informed AT ALL on this order setback. You had no problem or hesitation taking my money from the get go but you calling me when things go unscheduled I received nothing, zero, zilch! Literally crickets That is the point that is unacceptable. The art of customer service must be lost! The correct response should have been something like your 100% correct, and I am sincerely sorry for this and these actions do not support our culture and customer service values! I am new to the area and needed treatment (a prescription) for a serious dry eye issue. I scheduled my appointment with them and trusted that what they were doing was necessary for the dry eye diagnosis and treatment. I did NOT need a new vision prescription as I'd just gotten one before I moved. Nova was listed in my insurance directory as as Ophthalmologist or I never would've gone to them. In the end they only told me to get a heated eye mask and take fish oil. I had to go see a REAL Ophthalmologist to get the prescription I actually needed, and now Nova is trying to get me to pay them $170 for an eye exam I DID NOT REQUEST. I knew my insurance would not cover one, as I had JUST gotten one before I moved. All I needed was my dry eye treated, which they didn't even do. I keep emailing them about this, and they only reply with "You can pay with a credit or debit card." read more

I went in for an appointment because I needed new contacts. They said they would order a pair of trial contact lenses. I hadn't heard anything regarding the lenses in 2 weeks, so I called and they gave no information about them. A week later I called again and the person I spoke with said they had been shipped. Finally, almost a month later, I received a message saying the lenses were ready for pick-up. I went and got them and the invoice they gave me said the lenses were ordered on the date I called for the second time. read more

I have had a good experience with the doctors. They are very knowledgeable. My daughter and son have went there since 6 months old. My issue is with their optical department. All orders take very long to come in and there is zero communication about your order until you call. You seem like an inconvenience for asking questions about your prescription. They sized by 9 month old way too large for her first pair of glasses. I wasn't knowledgeable about fitting at the time. For now on I will go to see the doctors and skip optical. read more

"SALE 70% OFF FRAMES" I wasted an hour waiting to be help with a frame I chose in this "sale" area. I was quoted $789 My question was, "with 70% off ?" answered by, "that is 70% off" On the bottom of this BIG sign, in TINY letters COVERED by multiple frames is the words "priced as marked" How deceptive !Nova do you really think this is good business practice ?? I WILL go somewhere else, ANYWHERE else. I want to be able to trust the business's I deal with. Along with that I do NOT want to be OVER charged for anything I need. Please choose another eye exam business. BIFOCALS, vision therapy and 4 other eye tests were ordered for our 2nd grader, I believe because we had good insurance. (Military families, beware!) The eyeglass prescription we were given couldn't be filled at Costco, as they can't make bifocals that weak. Most of the children's frames at this office were "designer" and priced upwards of $150...for a child? Thankfully, our primary care doctor and our insurance allowed a "second opinion" exam in our case, as they too believed these extras were unnecessary. We ended up with a different prescription and were referred to two businesses with reasonably priced frames and lenses. read more

Came here to use up my Vision Insurance and get an updated contacts prescription. They were able to get me an appointment later in the day so I didn't have to take too much time off work. They also had the ability to let me complete all my forms online ahead of time which saved me a ton of time. The offices are easy to find and they handled the paperwork quickly. I liked the time Dr. White took to go over my options and the thoroughness of the exam. I actually learned that I need a slightly stronger prescription and that I've been using the wrong size contacts that moved too much. In and out in a little over 45 minutes. Their men's glasses selection is pretty slim. That's the only downer for me. With my insurance and cost of contacts exam my total bill was $70. read more

We took our 4.5 year old son for squinting his eyes when reading. Dr Jacobs told us he needed "vision therapy" for convergence insufficiency, saccadic eye movements and a list of 2 other diagnosis. Our son seemed otherwise normal but Dr Jacobs scared us and said if we allow it to persist without early intervention he would likely be later diagnoses with ADHD and would be unable to read chapter books despite the fact his reading is above level now. I am active duty military and have Tricare for insurance. They do not cover "Vision Therapy." We saw the vision therapy specialist at this institution who did not seem to have any advanced training and could not answer evidence based questions about this therapy which conveniently is offered at Nova Vision for only $4,500 with discounts. My wife and I decided to get a second opinion from a third party. Another well reputable ophthalmologist told us he did not have any of the diagnoses given to us by Dr Jacobs and said he sees normal for a 4.5year old. They also told us that vision therapy is not backed by their board. So I am trying to say do your research before you are scared into purchasing something your insurance does not cover. This is likely because it is not proven to work or maybe you have a misdiagnosis that may or may not provide financial benefit to this group. Trust is very important. Was really happy with services until this year. Did not appreciate their COVID 19 operation at all. Nor did I appreciate that everything had to be paid up front before glasses could even be ordered! Was always allowed to pay half the day of and the remaining half upon pick up until this year. Before: They scheduled me the exact time/day I needed, took all my information over the phone, explained how to fill out my new patient paperwork online. During: They greeted me quickly, started my exam with some very high tech procedures (none that included blowing air into my eye), sat me in a private exam room where Dr. White listened to my vision concerns and helped me find the perfect prescription/glasses choice that worked for me. Their billing department does not know what they are doing. They billed my exam incorrectly and when I spoke to my insurance company and retrieved the correct billing codes and provided it to them, they still billed it incorrectly. they never called to verify they couldn't fix my bill or come up with a solution, but they quickly sent it to collections. When I called to figure out why , they got an attitude with me and was very short. BILLING is a huge part of your experience there, I came out of pocket $425 for my own glasses, but if you can't handle billing insurance correctly and just try to get more money out of people, your business reflects poorly in regards to that. I love Nova. They were able to get me in for a next day appointment for my annual eye exam. I will be back! They got me in and out, my eye exam was thorough and enlightening. I had been diagnosed incorrectly which is why my eye glasses never seemed to work properly. Dr. Roberts was awesome! Very calming, and he clearly knows what he is doing. I do not remember the name of the woman who helped me find my frames and get my lenses but she was wonderful too! I walked away with 2 pair of glasses, one pair with bifocals, both have a lenses that are better than polycarbonite, one pair is transitional, the other pair have the bifocal, both non glare and I walked away spending $436 out of pocket for both pair. I am beyond happy with my service and what I paid. read more

Patient needs to be very careful what you wish for your service. They will tell you whatever you like to hear and do not based on your insurance plan coverage. I got a very bad experience from them. Initially they told me I have a good insurance plan and I can get my glasses with minimum cost for what I need. They pushed me to get more features for my glasses and told me that my insurance will cover most of them without checking the details from my plan. Later I found out I need to pay much more from their initial estimate. If you do not pay them, they send you to the collection agency to get the money. I believe this is a way they try to rip-off from the patients. read more

I'm so back and forth on the rating for this office. On one hand...the optometrists are a 10 STAR! Amazing! Professional! They know how to work with kids! They offer so many wonderful services and have a pediatric vision developmental specialist on staff. The wait time and vision department are another story. I've had to wait up to 30 minutes before I was called back to a room and then had to wait again once in the room. The vision department is TERRIBLE! They move at the pace of a snail! They are knowledgeable but they've lost glasses of mine. There have been times where I've dropped glasses off to be fixed and they say it'll take 5 minutes. This was my first experience at Nova Vision Care. I came in for a exam and if needed new glasses. The exam was thorough and was very satisfied with the Dr who performed the exam. My issue came after I ordered my glasses. I was quoted one price when I ordered my glasses and paid half at that time. I called after a week and was informed that my glasses had not come in yet and was reminded of my balance due at that time. They call me yesterday to tell me that my glasses were in. When I went to pay my balance was $30 more than the original price that I was given. The reason given was they could not make my leans out of the Trivex material that we ordered and they had to make them from a high index material. I was never called about the change and asked if the change was acceptable or not they just assumed that it was ok. It seems the only thing they were interested in was getting my money and even more they quoted. One needs also to ask if the tests done before the dr. sees you for exam are part of the exam or if they are additional charges, I will take responsibility for not asking those questions. While I was happy with my exam I was not happy the way the purchase of my glasses was handled and the lack of communication on their end. Personally, I will not be back when it comes to my future vision care. Lesson learned. read more
