LensCrafters for the win! For years I went a local optician who used those magoo looking lens from the 70s. Last year I went to a commercial eye ware chain. When they handed my prescription to me, my eyes were going batshit crazy. I went back 4 more times and swore off the commercial lens spots. My eye insurance allows me a free pair of glasses each year. I was about to make an appointment back to same doctor I noticed my sun glasses weren't good for driving. I did an internet search and found LensCrafters can fill RayBans with a prescription lens. Awesomeness! I first make a prescription for my annual eye exam. The equipment? Very high tech. They were able to take a picture of my eye and see if there is anything going on, I passed that test without studying. Bam! They had my 2022 prescription and I gave them my old RayBans. The woman tells me my insurance also covers frames. The same Clubmaster frames will cost me with insurance, .88 cents. No. Way!!!! This is a review of the experience I had after a recent contact exam. When I visited on 12/03, I informed the front desk person I had new job since my last visit and there may of been a change to my vision plan. I was there for a refill of my contacts, which they require an annual exam for. I was told that i would have to pay out of pocket $200, as my eyemed insurance didn't cover most of it. I thought it was odd and expensive, and asked him to check my benefits again, to which he told me I was an eyemed member but they just changed the coverage and this seemed normal to him. I paid and went home to check my benefits realizing I am not a participate of eyemed any longer, my job has a different plan to which I am fully covered for all fees and services. This was my misunderstanding, and I called the office immediately to try and fix the situation, hoping they would be compassionate and understanding to an existing patient. I was told the office manager Michelle would call me to discuss a potential refund and Truthfully, nothing changed about my prescription or the exam, it's just a requirement to get a script from them for new lenses. I called almost daily and was continually told she was out of office and that she would call and I never heard back. Finally December 23rd I got a call, to which Michelle told me she was busy with an office move and there was nothing they could do for me and I should try and submit the receipt through my new plan on my own. I was always happy with the doctor experience I had there, but the billing and customer service experience I received I would not recommend this office. read more

Looks like a nice place but I wouldn't recommend you to purchase your glasses there. It's way over priced. I have high prescriptions and they make really thick lenses for you with over 200 bucks even with a deal. When I go purchase my prescription glasses through framedirect.com, I can easily get an really thin and well polished, with anti-reflective coating lenses for the same price. read more

Went there after my insurance book said they covered me. Then claimed they covered "Medical Only" And even then were only willing to take $40 off, making it $110 instead of $150 for the EXAM only. They didn't cover the glasses themselves at all. I even heard them talking on the phone to a patient that said they could mail it to your house, but it'd be an extra $40 or something ridiculous. I'm not even surprised, look up Adam Ruins Everything Glasses to see how Lenscrafter is part of a monopoly that owns the stores, insurance company, factories that make the frames, and the companies themselves.
