I came in today for another exam and got fitted for a spare pair of glasses. Dr. Fostiak was so very kind and made me feel comfortable during the exam. We chatted about eye conditions as we grow older, and why Costco is always busy and chaotic. This is the location they moved to from Lincolnwood Town Center. They offer a wide range of selections. They screwed up my contact order numerous times. Twice they failed to call or inform me when they arrived. Falsely claiming they did call me, but I showed them my call and text history..not ... they ordered my contacts wrong two times so between my initial exam and getting my order after their screw ups I made over 7 trips. Here's an idea, if after two weeks you don't hear from a client awaiting contacts..try again. Wasted times. It's awful non service. They don't care at all. The optometrists who did a good exam even came out to try to apologize but it was too little too late. read more

If I could give negative stars I would 2 nd appointment to this location and again very disappointed on how they manage their schedule and customers My mistake that I returned there after first disappointing visit, but we were customers for 15 years ( 4 persons family) so I tried . Miraya, Miraya, wherefor art thou, Miraya? Miraya took care of my son's glasses since he started wearing them at age 3. She finished school and went on to be a maternity nurse. We thought our lives would end and never wanted to return to the Lenscrafters at Lincolnwood Town Center for fear we'd never get such great personal service. Then came Greg. Greg is the 2nd most awesome glasses guy we've ever dealt with. He caters to my son's absolute coolness with respect and friendship. We stop in here to get his specs tightened or cleaned or adjusted or new lenses replaced, or grab some sports googles and even just to say hi! I wont review prices - as lenscrafters, being a chain, has its ups and downs, as do our insurances! I try very hard not to interact with their annoying manager. The most recent proof of her idiocy was when I called across the store to my son and asked him to hurry up (we were first in a long line to get a screw tightened), apparently she thought I was talking to her, because she replied to me with "I'm working here, you'll have to wait your turn!" AS IF I WAS TELLING THIS CRAZY LADY TO HURRY UP? Please. I replied with a rather curt - "Mind your business, dummy, I'm talking to my son. GEEEEEEEEEEZ" Regardless - We'll come here to see if Greg's around just to get a bit of his coolness and we try to give our business under his name there. He's really great! This hot cold weather has been playing some tricks with my eyes. This morning as I was putting in my contact lenses my right eye started to water and would not stop. It went on for good 30 minutes and I thought I lost my contact inside my eye. I waited all day to see if my eye would feel better. I dont have problem with lenscrafters b4 but i dont know with this location much. Its closer and convenient . Is it organization? They dont know who to do first. My daughter had been in and out of appointments due to incorrect vision test for contacts. One optometrist says this is and when follow up comes its different. She could not see clearly. Then one dr. found out that this time its a different prescription. Then they have to special order that contacts for 6 weeks. Maybe its ordered out of the country ,who knows. Now we are back becuase finally its here, our appt. Is 5pm. Its 6pm and still has not been seen. We check in alright at 445pm. And knowing that whwn she doea get seen she has to wait another 20 mins or so to test the contacts if she is seeing clearly. There are a few staff here , so o dont know why they just dont bring her in and had her the contacts so she can fit them since she will be waiting on it. Its not that someone has to place it in her eyes. She is 24yo. I wont bring in the rest of my eyeglasses family. This is ridiculous. So what is this dr.doing then. There are pts. in but she only needs to see if the contacts fit. How hard is that. I understand they have to follow schedule but there are at least 4 or 5 staff. Poor poor customer service. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE. I would rate this place zero stars but I think the lowest is one star. Their service is terrible. They make promises and nothing happens. We waited for glasses for a month and we still haven't gotten it yet. The first visit they gave us the glasses it had a lot of scratches and the technician said he will send it out and should return in 7 days. We followed it up multiple times and still nothing. The reps there are very rude and telling us no glasses gets returned by 7 days and we should wait 14 days. It's been a month plus now and the next rep that we talked to said that it's been in the store waiting store. OMG they never sent it out. We are trying to cancel it and just say forget the whole transaction. They refuse and now we are calling the insurance to credit card to reverse the payment. To avoid this problem please go somewhere else. read more

I recently came in for an eye exam and new glasses. On a Saturday afternoon the store was crazy crazy crazy. The lady at the front counter was very nice - said that it would just be a moment as there were 3 other people in front of me and handed me paperwork to fill out. In the meantime I looked around and picked out the frames I wanted. I met with a tech. assistant (don't know what her official role was) that ran some preliminary tests - she was very nice. When I finally met with the Doctor (Dr. Lee?) she came in and was very personable and informative. She went over my eye exam and explained things thoroughly. I came back after an hour to get my glasses and was really happy. I feel like I'm looking at everything in HD! Oh, and best of all, I was able to get a AAA discount on the eye exam, but the 'sale' the store was having (50% off lenses) was even cheaper than my AAA discount. read more

This is the nicest Lens Crafters by far for both customer service and the Dr. my husband saw that day. I have visited the Park Ridge location as well as the Niles location. My husband had an appointment on 04/14/2017 for his eyes to be checked. I went with. The Dr. was very nice. She came out and explained to me about my husband's vision since he had undergone lasik years ago. The lasik is wearing off now. She really took her time to explain to me the process his corneas went through with the lasik and what options he had with contacts vs. glasses. She really answered questions and was a good listener too. My husband had asked her to explain all this to me. The Dr. was not rushed and really took her time with both of us to speak to us. The staff that works at the desk was polite and kind. The technicians that help with fitting the glasses were patient and nice. I chatted friendly conversation with them while my husband decided on his glasses. They were patient in helping us to decide on a nice pair of prescription sunglasses we wanted to get. This is the location we will stick with for the whole family. Customer service and friendliness means a whole lot and goes a long way. We got that at this location. read more

I worked in retail for 6 yrs so I know what customer service should be like. I'm a nurse so i for SURE know how to speak to people respectfully. There's a manager here, Jessica, who is extremely unprofessional. Shorter, hispanic woman. Here's her 3 strikes. 1. Every time I come in, (and yes, even after a 10 month stretch) no fail... she swoons over my boyfriend. "woooww. you're soooooo familiar. i swear. i can't place you. maybe we went to h.s. together" -- they're in their 30's now. my bf shrugs "i dunno. don't care" every time. Really? what are ya gonna do. Ask my bf on a date right in front of me? if you were real friends, dontcha think you would have kept in touch in the last 15 yrs if u really gave a damn? 2. Pushy, con artist. Yes, lens crafters, I understand you're a business. But seriously. You overcharge. I pay you and my insurance pays you. Eye exam. She said " get this test. you're insurance covers it." i specifically mentioned that i did not want to pay anything additional out of pocket. They said the tests would be covered. They did NOT say i had a copay for each random test. I was 23. Did i really need to be checked for glaucoma? even tho i was checked the last year?? Last year, i opted to get new contacts and not take advantage of my eyeglasses coverage. Jessica repeated over. and over. and over. "you paid for you're insurance-- you mean you don't want to take advantage of what you paid for and get new glasses?" no means, no. i already spent for my contacts. didn't wanna spend another couple hundred on glasses. At the time all i wanted to do was swap out the lens on my eyeglassess frame since the frames were 1yr old in great condition and it was just a prescription change i needed. she couldn't live with my own decision. My insurance, i pay for it, my decision. seriously. 3. I had to clarify my receipt. it read like so.: (Frames--- after insurance, i pay 112) Fea classic prem AR (Poly, Single Vision) --- i pay $10 FeatherWates ----- i pay 40 Complete premium AR SV ----i pay 108. my total was $280 after insurance. Called on the phone to clarify. Was i paying for frames. lenses. coating? there's 4 listings. Fea/Featherwates is listed twice-- different things? or two ways to pay for the same thing? "premium AR" twice? again. double charge or two different things? Single vision vs. SV in the 3rd line. uhhh.... u could see how the receipt doesn't read easily. It was Jessica again who was on the phone. PS. be warned. They answer the phone with scripted verbatum. Freaking robots. She apparently got offended by my asking, so I asked to talk to a manager. Said she was the manager. (*scoff*). All she did was go on and on- well your insurance covers this and this, that and that. But that wasn't my question. That i could see. I needed explanation of the line entries. She really wasn't interested in answering my question. Instead all she wanted to do was drone on and on about my insurance. I'm not stupid. I have a copy of my benefits and all i needed was clarification for multiple entries on the receipt repeating the same thing. . But eventually she had to hand the phone over to another employee who was SO much more helpful. and *gasp* actually listened to the question i was asking. In the end, it's that the listings had to be broken up as different entries for correct insurance billing purposes. Thanks for reading. Staff is certainly very willing to help... I was asked if I needed assistance by three different people in the first five minutes I was there. :) I didn't find a pair of glasses, though. I was just looking for a pair of backup frames to use up my insurance benefits before the end of the year, but everything was really pricey. I waited a month or two to write this review because I was so furious with the store. DO NOT GO HERE FOR AN APPOINTMENT. Walk-ins I can only assume are fine - I know this, because I made an appointment for my husband to have his eyes tested and contact lenses fitted a few weeks in advance, for 9.30 (or whenever is half an hour after their opening time - I forget what time they open.) Get there at 9.20 for our appointment, drop off husband, come back an hour later to find he hasn't been seen yet. AND nobody has bothered to explain why. Seriously, you can't be an hour behind schedule by 9.30 when you opened at 9 unless you are taking walk-ins and giving them priority over your bookings. That is just so disrespectful to people who make appointments - we do so because we're busy! So I complain, and then 30 minutes later, we're still not seen, so at this point I complain again to the girl at the front, who just repeats what she already told us, "We're running behind. I don't know why." No effort made to find out what happened, why the booking system was so clearly messed up, let ALONE how much longer of a wait we could expect. Atrocious customer service. The manager was not any better, to be honest. Repeating what others have warned: avoid this place at all costs. Disrespectful of customer's time, atrocious system for handling appointments, cLEARLY taking walk-ins at the expense of pushing people's appointments back by HOURS, and staff don't seem capable of dealing with the understandable upset their awful management system causes. I wish I had read Jeff M.'s review before I made my appointment, because I paid full price for my comprehensive eye exam, but even that does not dampen my positive experience with Lenscrafters. I've had some horrible headaches for the past few weeks and while sitting in front of my computer yesterday, it dawned on me that perhaps I may need glasses. All my mom's warnings about reading in the dark and sitting too close to the TV have come true, egads! Though Lenscrafters was hoppin' they were able to squeeze me in last minute. (Thank god, because I thought I was going to die if I had to deal with another day of staring at a computer screen without glasses!) The entire staff is beyond friendly and excels at keeping their composure no matter how difficult the client/patient/whatever or how busy they may be. Dr. Manternach did a wonderful job explaining everything to this spectacle newbie, from eye health to what to expect when I started wearing glasses. Lenscrafters also has a great selection of stylish frames. It took me all of 10 minutes to pick out a couple frames that I liked and then another 20 minutes debating "Burberry?" or "Versace?" - tough decisions, huh? And now, for the best part - my glasses were ready in just under an hour. Yes. That's right. Just under ONE hour. Love! They were also kind enough to replace the pin in my sunglasses, gratis. Sure, Yelping about Lenscrafters probably isn't as fun as some of the other things I typically rave about or rip apart, but I'm so happy with the service I received that I'd highly recommend this location to anyone in need of glasses or contacts! read more

Simply put... Avoid this place at all costs... It is overpriced, deceptive and not worthy of anyone's patronage. I went in here needing contact lens and glasses as I had lost my contacts. It was a Big mistake to come here. Their main concern seemed to be overcharge and leave all the details of the final cost until the very end, just as you're ready to pay. Way overpriced for a chain lens grinder in a middle class mall... No thanks! I cancelled the whole thing and walked out... Went to Costco and paid half as much for quality product and at far lower prices. My experience at Costco was professional and unhurried. I didn't feel I was in a zoo as I did at LensCrafters. The same quality frames and exam for less than half the price. If you want to blow your money, at least do it at an upscale establishment, not this joint. Very disappointing experience! read more

ZENNIOPTICAL.com I got a much better frame from them and Zenni has an incredibly Huge selection of frames, HUGE. Also, Extremely High quality Lenses too. Now get this, the glasses at Lencrafters with a cheaper frame and their top of the line high index lenses, the quote was $495.00 The better frame (titanium) and better lenses at Zenni, My total cost shipped right to my door was $75 The fit was perfect. I went to the lincolnwood location to look for frames; not once, did any of the associates greet me/offer help. I was all over the store with no assistance. While I was browsing an older gentleman was in the process of pay for his glasses. Being an older man, he had plenty of questions which the associate seemed annoyed at answering. I have been coming here since high school and every time service is amazing! I've only recently in the last two years started wearing glasses again. Before it was contacts but they always had my order ready in a timely manner. Before I started wearing contacts I used to go to For Eyes but after they messed up my mom's prescription twice we have not been back. When I decided this year I would finally invest in a pair of couture glasses I was well taken care of. I can't remember his name but he had brown curly hair (hope this helps). I planned on spending about $700.00 out of pocket for contacts, glasses and exams for each. I have never worn glasses before so I have no idea as to how the process works. I called this location and a woman answered. She appeared annoyed that I had even called. I asked about the process and the availability. She acted as if I was inconveniencing her. I had planned on going there today. She was rude, and even hung up on me. I'll take my money elsewhere. I suggest you all do the same. This woman should not be answering phones. read more

I lost a lens out of my glasses and went to Lenscrafters on Touhy where i got the glasses to get a new one. BIG mistake. Their labs in Chicago have closed and they send everything to some place in Georgia. Two weeks for glasses. They couldn't find my prescription. They kept misspelling my name. I don't think they spoke English very well. Finally, they found a prescription, but I was fed up and decided to try Pearle on Lincoln near Belmont. Great service there. After I gave my prescription to Pearle, turns out it was someone else's. I called Lenscrafters and told them and they said they had another store that used another method to track prescriptions and that I should bring the wrong one back. I told them I would as soon as they found mine. They have never called me back. I will never go to Lenscrafters again. read more
