Well this is my 2nd time going to this particular Pearle Vision center since I had insurance again to do my eye exam and get reader glasses. I had bought eyeglasses for driving before in 2023 with the same optometrist for driving and that time despite insurance before it did not cover a big discount when I bought Ray Bans with transition when the sun out. Otherwise very good staff and optometrist next to the selections on frames and their recommendations for eye sight prescription lenses. Parking is also convenient in the back of the building through the Alleyway going in Walgreens on Cicero. I don't have a picture of the store but here is a picture of my driving glasses I bought from them and my new pair for reading on the computer and books. They were they're not so popular brand something called Enhanced lenses but that's all I can afford not that I live on my own. Unlike the Ray Ban lenses with transitional shades in the sunlight that I spare no expense for the best. I also want to give a thank you shout out to optometrist Dr Grace Hashisaka who I had before for the Ray-Bans and explained about my concerns on my eyes and what they found out from my eye exam just 2 years later she's really informative and cares about your vision. read more

Very dissatisfied. I purchased some glasses that were not comfortable from my face. I returned them. I tried another pair. They also did not work. I want to return those and they charge a restocking fee. Over $110. And I didn't even get a pair of glasses ! Not ok. read more

They say what they need to, to sell you frames. While picking out frames I told the salesperson that my glasses take a beating. I need frames that are solid. She sold frames to me that she said "we're made of titanium and are pretty much indestructible." Not true. The arms are titanium and the part the lenses sit in are plastic. I found that out when they broke. I called to say that I was misinformed about the frames, which were expensive, and they were out of warranty in less than 5 months. Pearl also did not take responsibility for what I was told by them. Don't go there. Get glasses online, save time and aggravation. No good. read more

I'm truly upset with this location at 6 corners on Milwaukee, Irving Park, and Cicero, went in for contacts for my annual exam and the prescription for each eye was prescribed, I used my insurance that I can only use once a year, got the contacts they worked for about 5 days then I began to see blurry during the day and night really hard to see while driving and at work very hard to see my screen, I decided to call Pearle Vision and was able to get an appointment on that day, shortly after I received a call and was told that the eye doctor can't do anything else for me and I'm stuck wearing contacts that I can't see with, I've always worn contacts and always received contacts that I can see with, this was my 2nd year going to Pearle Vision and will never step foot in again, my insurance now has been used for the year and can't see. I felt that they didn't want to help me and frustrated with Pearle Vision. Shame on the company, really wrong to treat a patient in that manner. I was able to return 2 boxes of contacts but have 2 boxes that were open that I couldn't get a refund for and stuck with something I can't use. read more

Very dissatisfied, I purchased several glasses for my family here and bought warranty insurance for each to come and find out when I tried making a claim for one I did not have it. This was a surprise to me as I always get insurance and I make it clear to the rep. I tried talking to the manager, reps and the only assistance I got from the male manager that he would give me a minimal percent discount on a frame. They lost a loyal customer here. People make sure to look at your receipts before walking out that you have this insurance. read more

My son and I have been going to this location for a few years. The doctor and staff are great! The associates in the front are so helpful and attentive. I was impressed with their COVID procedures - hand washing, trays to hold glasses that are tried on so they can be sanitized prior to putting them back on the display. Hand sanitizer available for use. Appointment only so they can control the number of customers. I would recommend this location to others. read more

Love it, when in today(Friday) without an appointment, to Try to find my daughter new glasses for school. I was surprise how fast I was taking care of. Usually I would have to wait a while in other places. Was there for my annual eye exam this past weekend. Given it was my first time there I had to provide my insurance info and fill out all sorts of forms out. Then I was screened by Diana who was super friendly and very nice. Then Dr. Hungerford was very pleasant. Made the exam fun and was very chatty which I like. He had me try a few different contact colors to make sure I picked the ones I truly liked. Finally, Anna helped me with the checkout process and she even took the time to go check if there were any coupons/discounts on the contacts that I was about to order. Overall a very pleasant experience for a Saturday morning! Will definitely come back here every year for my exam... highly recommend it! read more

I moved to Chicago 10 years ago from the east coast and continued to fly back every year for my eye appointments. My vision care provided, notified my doctor was no longer in network but there was a Pearl Vision close to me that was in network, so I made my appointment. I got Dr Gutierrez and I must say, she's amazing. My prescription is a little complicated but she took time to understand the situation. It was a great appointment. I'm very happy. I haven't been a customer at Pearle Vision since the 80's and since relocating to Chicago have usually gone to an independent Optometrist in my neighborhood based on price and location. After shopping around for eyewear and making an appointment at Americas Best I cancelled it due to reading that it takes 15-20 days for glasses to be manufactured. I continued to search and decided on Pearle Vision Six Corners at Klee Plaza (4017 N. Milwaukee Ave Chicago, IL, 60641) since I popped in there over the summer during the BBQ Fest. I scheduled an appointment for Saturday morning. It's a bonus that I like any reason to hit the six corners area and needed to go to Fantasy Costumes which was right up the street. I got to Pearle about 20 minutes before my 10 AM appointment and they got me in immediately. A nice young attendant took me back for a preliminary exam and then I was greeted by Optometrist Dr. Norman Blase who was very friendly, and did further tests. He took his time and I didn't feel rushed as I have with other eyeglass stores in Chicago. When we were done I had a little window of time to look over my eyewear options and was planning on the buy one get one pair free promotion. I tried on about a dozen pairs and decided on a nice Izod frame. I couldn't believe I was going with a designer known for their preppy Alligator moniker but there was no way I was going to choose a Nike pair despite how appealing they might have been. As a rule against my religion, and I'm an atheist. When I was finished browsing I was greeted by another employee Jessica who I would later learn was new but she seemed as professional as a seasoned veteran. She was very pleasant to assist me in my purchase. As we went over everything I was looking for in detail we got around to the 2 for 1 promotion and being that I was already over $200 of what I had as a budget I decided that after working up the numbers I'd be out another $200-$300 dollars so I opted against that promotion. I was still fine with the expense due to the service I had experienced. After going over everything I had wanted with a really nice pair of half frames with transition lenses and no line bifocals I was surprised that with all of the detail and my questions of how quickly I was in and out. Unfortunately since I chose half frames I wouldn't be able to have the "in an hour" turnaround and asked if there was a chance I could have them by the following Thursday as I would be going out of town. There were no guarantees and I still left very satisfied with their customer service. I hung around the neighborhood a little longer and then went home and put on a movie and my phone rang a few hours into the afternoon. It was Pearle and my glasses were done. I was amazed and thrilled at the same time. They sent them out and got them back the same day. Now they have a new loyal customer. The only downside to my experience was that when I went in the following Monday to pick them up I did not receive the complimentary cleaning cloth and non-aerosol cleaner that I have with every other purchase of eye wear since my first pair in 1977. That's a lot of eyeglasses. Other than that, I will be back to get some sturdy prescription sunglasses sometime in the near future. read more

Have been going to Pearle and Dr. Blaze for nearly a decade. In fact, Pearle and Dr. Blaze have put glasses/contacts on all six members of our family. As our kids have grown, they still come back from out of state to have Dr. Blaze give eye exams. Service and staff are also outstanding and seemingly very consistent in terms of turnover and it shows. Manager Tom Barker is a delight to deal with. read more

Had a piece of metal in my eye, called, they took me in right of way, she removed the piece of metal and rust out my eye... what can I say.. she's a professional. My dad who is Spanish speaking only went in a few weeks ago with pink eye. I found it strange that they asked for a 3rd follow up so I went with him. After sitting ya down, the doctor didn't even know what he was in for that day and I told him that he wanted a 3rd follow up. He began his exam for his pink eye and then later stated that that follow up was scheduled for glasses NOT his eye. We should have been informed of that BEFORE starting a procedure that didn't have to be done. I do not recommend this location at all. read more

I highly recommend going to this office. I have never been to see an eye doctor, and the staff at this location made the entire experience pleasant. I was warmly greeted and appreciated the thoroughness the staff took with my appointment. Dr. Gutierrez was pleasant and knowledgeable. She took her time with me, and was very helpful with questions that I had. When I was picking out a pair of glasses, I appreciated how the sales girl helped by steering me in a direction that would be flattering on my face. I have had three different negative experiences with this Pearle location over the past few years. A few years ago, I had an appointment and the doctor never showed up. The staff were trying to reach him/her but could not find him. I waited for a half an hour and was told that they could not locate the doctor and that I had to reschedule. The following year, at my appointment, I had inquired about the cost of bifocal contact lenses. They were very expensive so I decided not to order them. A few weeks later I got a call that the contacts were in. I told them I had never ordered the contacts and they disputed that with me claiming that I did and that I was obligated to come in and pay for them. They finally agreed to send back the contacts after I escalated the issue and told the manager I would give them a bad review on Yelp. So, the following year, I avoided this Pearle Vision, going to the one on Lincoln and Belmont where I had no problems and everything went smoothly. Since I had a lot of Christmas shopping in Dec 2016, I decided to go this Pearle because it was conveniently close to Sears. I had meant to take a copy of my contact RX from the previous year but I forgot it. When I got there for my appointment I asked them if they could pull up my RX from the other Pearle and they said that they were not able to. They did not make an effort to contact the other Pearle by phone. After my exam I asked for copies of my RX and was told that they would be given to me when I pick up my contacts. When my contacts came I could not see out of them. They were the wrong prescription. When I got copies of my RX I immediately saw that the contact RX was incorrect. Since then they corrected the problem. I don't plan on coming back to this Pearle Vision location. What should be a simple appointment always seems to turn out to be quite complicated at this location. My next appointment will be at the Pearle Vision on Lincoln and Belmont. read more

I haven't been here in 3 year so it was long over due! When I came in all associates were helping customers. I was greeted politely and was told I'd be helped next. The lady who greeted me finished up with her customer and was heading towards me. As I was going to being to talk to her she was cut off by another customer and instead of telling them to wait a few minutes she completely snubbed me and went with the other customer! It was pretty rude since she didn't even bother to acknowledge me after! If she would've just said sorry or I'll be right with you again I totally would've understood! Luckily Jessica another associate had just barely finished with her customer and was more than willing to help me and I'm glad she did because I completely fell in love with her Prada Frames. Unfortunately they no longer had them on display/in store to try on BUT Jessica was kind enough to let me try hers on! Her compliments on how the frame looked on me and her willingness to help sold me on the pair! She placed my order for the glasses and I was out of there in 30-40 minutes! (i am surprised the previous reviews are all positive.) i really wanted to like this place. but poor customer service and long wait (even with an appointment). prices are nowhere near what i would consider a good deal. on top of it all, i witnessed a manager yelling at one of his employees. i saw dr. tanaka during my visit. she was fine, but was extremely impersonal. i had been going to america's best all my life prior to trying out pearle vision, and my experiences with the doctors there were far better. i'm disappointed since this location is so convenient for me, but it looks like i'm in the market for a new eye doctor. read more

I couldn't even see a doctor here - because even though I called the day before and scheduled an appointment just fine and told them I needed to find my insurance card for them, they told me they would need some sort of ID number on the card, or a physical insurance card, which my provider did not give me. I came in explaining to the lady i did not have an actual insurance card, and I have been to the Pearle Vision on Harlem many times, and if she could just call them and find my information. She didn't even try to - she just kept repeating herself that they were not "affiliated" with the other location - you're the same company?? I don't understand. I got upset and just left after she asked me if i wanted to pay for my appointment out of pocket. No, lady, I have insurance. You just won't even spend a few minutes out of your morning, where there are NO other patients or customers in the store, to look up my name and birthday or call the other store to prove I've been there. Ridiculously lousy customer service - I'd get written up by my manager if they saw me behaving like this at my job. read more

I went in for an eye exam and contacts in November, made an apppointment ahead of time and still waited fpor over an hour to be seen. We got to February of the following year, 3 optometrists and each one would give me a different prescription and brand. None of them could get the prescription right, needless to say that the trial contacts had to be ordered and they would only allow me to try AND order the brand they wanted not my usual brand. Everybody is very friendly which makes the whole process much easier. When there was an issue with my contact lens prescription, it was quickly resolved to my satisfaction. Loved that I got in the same day!!!! As a mom of boys, one broke the others glasses and needed to get in ASAP. I was seen and out within 1 hour and half.....We do have great insurance and it covered a lot, they have such good price range my kid got to pick what he liked and didn't have to settle for an off brand. Our family has worked with Pearle Vision at Six Corners - glasses, contacts & eye exams - for about 20 years.When I phoned today explaining a possible emergency, the people I spoke with said NO I could not see my doctor (who, they said, was there). They offered appointments next week. No questions about the condition, no offer to put the doctor on the phone. Just "NO - have a nice day".
