My Odyssey with Lenscrafters DTLA started in April 2026 after reading amazing online reviews about Dr. Catherine Kim. I could tell something about my last prescription was just "off" and it was likely time to get some designated readers. Dr. Kim patiently walked me through the exam and found just the right reader prescription for me that I looked forward to incorporating into my progressive lenses. I asked her point blank about what she thought about working for Big Corporate Optometry and while the details of her response escape my 57 year old brain, the gist was that she thought her patients/customers got the best of both worlds. Judging from my experience of upgrading the first half of my eyewear collection through August 2026, I'd agree with her 100%. Callahan and Tony have been *extraordinary* in their efforts to ensure that I was nothing less than delighted with my revamped glasses and have been creative and helpful in suggesting new frames for me to stay somewhat current with two new pairs of Ray-Bans. I've been coming here for about six years, and my experience is always good. All of the workers are always welcoming and always have answers to my questions. The location is always clean and well organized. They also have a nice variety of options for glasses as well. Every year, I come and upgrade my glasses here. When I stop by to pick out my glasses, it takes about 7 to 10 days to be ready. They're never late. VERY consistent with their calls and alerts. I came here a week ago, I did not see the optometrist as my prescription was still valid! I came in, I was welcomed. The ambiance is calm, they take appointments for the doctor but you can always walk in for quick glasses fix or to purchase glasses. They are welcoming and encourage you to try the glasses by providing a tray to add your selections. Once your select your glasses they sit you down and talk to see what type of lenses works best for you base on your usage and they explained what insurance covers. This review is for Blanca. The stem on my everyday distance glasses became unscrewed. I also had a pair of sunglasses that fit too loose. My reading glasses and my spare pair of distance glasses needed tightening. I called lens crafters and spoke with Blanca. She told me to come into the store so that she could take a look. I arrived about 30 minutes later. She replaced the screw on my everyday distance glasses. Those glasses were most important to me since I wear them daily. She also tightened my sunglasses, my spare pair of distance glasses and my stronger reading glasses. She did this all in about 5 minutes. She did not charge me. Though I did buy some glass covers from her. Blanca was really sweet and very helpful. I appreciate her service. I also appreciate that this store was close to home and available to me. My husband and I have been customers here for years and I'm finally deciding to not be customer here anymore. They are ALWAYS running behind. And when we have our appointments for new glasses always end up being here for 2 hours at least. It eats up so much time. I have at 12:20 appointment today and now its 1pm and i still havent been seen by the doctor. This is ridiculous. Not gonna willingly deal with this anymore. The experience was great, up until it was time for pick up. I requested they be shipped to closer location for pick up. Rep on the phone told me they would be shipped out Tuesday and available for pick up at my requested location on Friday. Well it's Friday, and come to find out they JUST SHIPPED IT TODAY! What's worse is the rep on the phone refused to take accountability of the failure and blamed me for going to the location? Customer service was poor, and to put it simply, they don't care. I underestimated LensCrafters. My order was not going through online so, I called and hooray after all the 10 choices to press this and that, I was able to talk to a live person. She was kind and very helpful. I placed my order prescription sunglasses smoothly because I had my Refraction Manifest numbers from my Eye doctor, my choice of sunglasses and the pupillary distance. I got the discounts too. So, the order was placed. I received my sunglasses and it was perfect! The sunglasses were perfectly in place in my face - no adjustments. The pupillary distance was right on point. The lesson here is: get accurate measurements. Also, I was lucky to talk to a kind and helpful associate because others can be very lazy to help. I would leave 0 stars is possible. I went in to pick up my contacts that had been delivered a few days prior, i got there and they could not locate them. The package had to be signed for by someone which the worker stated it was signed by an employee. The worker refused to contact the employee as they were on leave. He instead told me to call ups as they don't have the package. Ups states the package was specifically signed by someone in their office and they in fact received it. I haven't downgraded a review before but this really ticked me off. I got a pair of glasses here - the exam was great and the service was exceptional. I was told my glasses would be ready in about 7 days. I called in to the store to see when they'd be ready the following week and was told the schedule showed that they would be delivered and ready for pick up about middle of next week, maybe Thursday. So today, Thursday, I called in late in the day (5:40) and was told they had not been delivered and would probably be ready tomorrow. THEN at 7:10pm I got a text saying they were ready and to come by and get them. I was in my car a few blocks from the store so I stopped...only to find out the store closed at 7:00!! Why send me a text after the store closes and tell me to come by "any time" and pick them up. Sadly, I have to leave early tomorrow for a few days and I would have liked to have my glasses but it looks like it will be another three days, 17 days after my exam, by the way. This is worse advertising than "In-N-Out" burgers where you're guaranteed to get IN, wait a half hour or longer before you are OUT. So disappointed!! read more

Provided dietary recommendation to maintain healthy eyes. Has positive energy...you can observe this in her mannerisms. Hops and bounces around a lot...I like this energy! Appears delighted in her profession "like a kid in a candy store :)" The world needs more Optometrists like Lilit. 5/5 It was my first visit and I was seen by Dr. Christine Min. She was very cheerful and helpful. The front desk ladies were very nice and they made sure I was taken care of. I forgot to validate my parking ticket but Gina held my spot and allowed me to get the parking ticket that I left in my car. Dr. Min was very efficient and thorough. She genuinely cared for the health of my eyes and went the extra mile to ensure my new glasses and contact lenses fit me to my liking. She also spent a lot of time looking at the back of my eye and was very professional at communicating complex medical concepts in layman terms. She is truly making a difference in the LA community's eye health, in both treatment and prevention, for any patient she encounters. I would also want to recognize Luz, who was so fast at doing the pre testing and was very friendly and welcoming and Blanca. Both of these ladies stayed near closing just for me to get the eye glasses materials finalized and was super enthusiastic even though clearly the store was near closing. I had a wonderful visit at this location, Catherine Kim was absolutely wonderful, I would say be prepared to be there for about an hour but that was for an 11:40 appointment on a Saturday. I had my heart set on a particular pair of glasses and the two individuals who helped me (do not remember their names) stepped up. They pulled every frame that resembled the one I wanted and provided feed back easing my anxiety(which I am chockful of). At the end I walked a way happy with the service I received from the moment I walked to purchasing my glasses. I had VSP guardian insurance and they accepted that. but definitely check with your insurance before going. I walked out of there with a pair of glasses and sunglasses for the same price I have received 1 pair of glasses at other optometrists. read more

When I first entered the store today, the security guard said something incomprehensible and told me to go to the front, LITERALLY shewing me away from looking at the glasses. When I was about to buy glasses, my prescription was online on my phone and they had really poor WiFi in the store so I wasn't able to pull it up. I went to the entrance as the staff member helping me told me to do to get better service and the security guard told me he was "checking" me and came closer to me.   I finally felt so uncomfortable, I left. Don't treat your customers like they are criminals. He made my experience SO unpleasant. and I really wanted to buy the glasses! P.S. This has nothing to do with the staff. LOVED them! Great experience! Gina was very professional but also personable and patience. She was very clear and provided me with all the choices I had to fit my prescription. I was looking for a transition lens. Since my prescription was a bit hard to fit she was able to get the lab technician Alfredo to come out and fine tune the best frames that would work with my prescription. I then had lunch and did a bit of shopping and about an hour later I returned and the glasses were ready. I am very happy with the result. I read the comments before going here and let me tell you, they are completely wrong. The service is good and the try to be as fast as possible. The thing i noticed about this reviews is that everyone is pardon my french, very fucking entitled. Like the person CD who has a picture of a dog said he had to keep reminding them about his appointment. im sure they know what an appointment is but seeing how short staffed they are they are doing so many things that need to be done before they assist you but you keep interrupting them and slowing them down. After reading all these reviews. thats the real problem, everyone going in is beyond stupid and entitled, no common sense.
