LensCrafters - Chesterfield Town Center I've been coming here for many years and highly recommend this location. The one constant throughout the years has been the manager, Chris, who provides excellent customer service every time. My wife once tried another eyeglass provider, but the difference in quality and service was clear, she is happily back to this Lenscrafters. I also strongly recommend their replacement insurance. It has been incredibly consistent in fixing or replacing any issues I've had, and over the years it has truly been a lifesaver, saving me significant money overall. Yep, eyeglasses aren't cheap, but it's easier when I trust that I'm getting the quality and service I pay for. Having Dr. Bastaich(optometry) right next door is another convenience I appreciate, good and reliable care. Kudos to Chris and the team at LensCrafters Chesterfield Town Center! read more

They never pick up the phones, never return the calls, and when you go in person it is an office that is loosely run by a teenager totally out of her depth. I don't blame her. I broke my prescription glasses in Richmond and they're under warranty with my ophthalmologist's practice in Florida. Passing by the optometrist in WalMart and figuring I needed a spare pair anyway until I could get to FL, I picked up a pair there. I asked for the most robust ones they had, paid my $300, and got the new ones within a couple of weeks. So far, pretty expensive (I wrote it off to the progressive lenses), but otherwise so good. However, my vision just didn't seem quite right. When I mentioned it during the fitting, they just blew it off and said to give them a few days to adjust, which they never did. So, I went to Lenscrafter's, paid about $100 for a far more robust pair, was quoted a two-week pickup but got them sooner, and they are perfect. Five stars! read more

Don't walk. RUN AWAY. I haven't been to this location in years, but let me stress how poor of service you'll get. 1) I remember the sour taste in my mouth at the time of purchase. Years later 2) I've worn my glasses maybe a dozen times since I made the purchase. The lenses are peeling, cracking and I've owned more than 10 pairs of glasses. Never from lens crafters until this pair. These frames have never been dropped, stepped on, or anything like that. Now that I have a scratched cornea, I need to use them and they are HORRIBLE. I reached out to customer service and the gist of the email was "faulty lenses aren't their problem after 1 year or 30 days" It's an obvious stress fracture from the cut. But that's cool lens crafters... enjoy that last little bit of my money. UPDATE: After the business owner asked me to fill out a form, I still haven't heard back. Totally unprofessional here. Took my daughter to get new glasses, but we didn't have the prescription. When we told the front desk that, she rolled her eyes and told us she'll call us back tomorrow. She never did. Wash, rinse, and repeat that cycle several times. Totally unhelpful, we finally had to stand there, get the prescription, and took our business elsewhere. I have been getting my family's eyeglasses from this Lens Crafters for 10 years. There are 4 of us. I just bought glasses. For the first time I was told they no longer take my insurance plan ( VSP). This was news to me. Same plan I have always had. Then I go to pick my glasses up and the employee has absolutely no interest in making sure they fit correctly. I had to ask him to adjust them. He did and still no desire to make sure they fit correctly. In the past they always made sure. Covid has really changed their customer service. Never going back. I will order glasses on line if I need to...I will receive the same service level. read more

If I could give negative stars, I would. AVOID this place at all costs! Both my husband and I were given vastly incorrect prescriptions and had to return to get "corrected" ones. We BOTH had to have our glasses remade. Unfortunately, I ended up with 2 boxes of contacts that I cannot use because he got the measurements wrong, a complete waste of money. My glasses, after two attempts, were STILL incorrect. In the end I ended up going to a completely different optometrist (Target Optical on West Broad Street) and paid for another exam, which was absolutely perfect. Thankfully, Target Optical where I initially ordered my glasses were brilliant in remaking my glasses THREE times because of this "optometrist" at LensCrafters. Absolutely shameful. read more

I've never had problems with my eyes. I go once a year to have them checked. About a month ago, I had my yearly check up. I didn't want to admit that I have not been seeing as clearly lately. When I mentioned that, the dr took me back and did the whole work up on my eyes. The end result was amazing. I can see definition that I evidently haven't seen for some time. I went to LensCrafters to either repair my RayBan glasses frame or get new glasses. Chris Sieloff was able to fix the frame and he also helped me order a spare frame and lenses -- just in case! I was impressed with Chris' professional skills and how helpful he was to a new customer. And, I liked the new technology they use to adjust the lens to your eye. I had such a pleasant experience at this location. I went into the store last Wed (today is Sunday) to purchase glasses. I was greeted by 2 people (1 including the manager) then began working with a gentleman by the name of Andrew. He assisted me in finding glasses that were the right size and style for my face. He was very knowledgeable, about the products that were in store, and provided his honest opinion on his thoughts regarding my choices. It was such a pleasing experience I went there and by the second we got inside we got welcomed with a smile and excitement. The doctor and the ladies explain to us well how I should take care of my lenses, they gave us so many coupons that I paid even half than it was asking, I went to get my glasses with my prescription at hand and I got them the next day! I had the worse experience at this location that my whole family goes to. I picked the same frame with a stronger bifocal & told the rep & wanted to spend the about same amount as the last time. She game a quote of $498. I explained to her that I couldn't do that price & her response was "Well last time they gave you a discount & you have this expensive lenses that I don't even have" she went on about if I'm a state employee why I don't have vision insurance & that her fiance did. Needless to say I left & went to another one location & they DID offered me a discount & came down to $362.00. I wasn't looking for a free pair of glasses but something more affordable. Oh, and she was the manager! I will NEVER go again to that location! As expensive as they are and working on commission you would think costumer service & costumer retention is their #1 priority. I would give them zero stars if I could. When I arrived 10 minutes early, I had to wait for the two receptionists to finish a conversation before I was helped and then I had to listen to them argue from behind a curtain while I still waited for my appointment. Then the doctor's child and friend came in to get something from the doctor. It was strange and caused more disruption with the receptionist. They cleaned their machines with pump hand sanitizer that had an overwhelming smell. When I finally was taken back to a room, it was 25 minutes after my appointment time. By the time the doctor arrived, it was 30 minutes past my appointment time. When he walked in, he sat down and didn't say anything. I was finishing a work-related text message, waiting for him to address me. He sat in silence until he finally asked me if it was important and I would like him to come back. I explained that he hadn't addressed me when he came in so I wasn't aware he was ready to start. I turned off my phone screen and set it in my lap. He rudely told me I needed to set it on the counter. I am an adult and do not need a doctor that not only was half an hour late for his appointment, but didn't have the common courtesy to begin the appointment in a professional manner and had the nerve to admonish a paying customer for phone use when he has the most unprofessional staff I have encountered at a doctor's office. He went on to make an arrogant statement about how he is the doctor and wants attention during his exam. Literally all this guy does is sit there with an iPad and put information in so the machine reacts. Doctor or not, I expect respect and professionalism as a human, patient, and paying customer. read more

I just went to this lenscrafters yesturday, because I wanted glasses made the same day. I purchased sunglasses and regular glasses for a total of $566. I asked if the prescription was in stock and was told that they were. I was charged for polarized lenses in the sunglasses even though I didn't want it and had to repeatedly insist they take it off. After an hour I went back to pick up the glasses, and they only had my sunglasses. At this point I was told that they didn't have my prescription in the regular glasses. I was pretty unhappy since I had asked before paying if the prescription was in stock. They told me if I wanted to wait another hour they could make me a loaner pair, or I could wait 7-10 days for my glasses. My problem is that 1) they lied about having my prescription in stock 2) They could have called me and offered the loaner pair. I know they did not, because at that point I could have left an gone to one of their many competitors in the area. I will never go back to this lenscrafters. read more

My first eye doctors appointment was less than pleasant. The front receptionist incorrectly told me my insurance did not cover the exam...it did. Then the person that took me back read from a script that she couldn't pronounce. During my appointment the doctor left the room while I was mid sentence talking to him about my contacts. I returned for my follow up where the secretary told me the doctor wasn't there because "he's boujee you know how they get." I then heard the secretary on the phone explain to a patient that "nothing gets done unless she's working." Seriously what kind of establishment is this???? read more

I had a very good experience at Lensecrafters this past Saturday! I had a complex order involving the purchase of sunglasses with no polarization, progressive lenses, in a particular color and tint. I could not believe this could all be done in an hour! The staff was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and willing to help. They worked as a team and even involved the manager to make sure everything was done right. When all was said and done I walked out with the pair of prescription sunglasses exactly the way I needed and wanted them. The consultation and putting the specifications together took about 45min and then an hour later out comes the pair of sunglasses. Amazing! Nicely done! read more

Even after reading all of the negative reviews I decided to give the Midlothian LensCrafters a chance. The doctor was incredibly friendly, I could tell that he loved his job! They also do the digital eye exams which made it quick and easy at a reasonable price. I picked out my glasses with a very nice sales man who did my measurements and got my lenses all set up to pick up between 7-10 days. I have been in desperate need for a new prescription, so I didn't want to go any longer than I had to. After a week and a half I called inquiring about my glasses and when I could pick them up. The man on the phone was nice and reassured me that my glasses should be there by the end of the week. No surprise here, they weren't. I called again at two weeks and the (again very friendly) woman on the phone told me for some reason my glasses would take TWO MORE WEEKS! That would put my wait time for my glasses at a month. She assured me that she would get to the bottom of the issue and made a quick pair of temporary glasses within the hour so at least I could see. I finally just got my glasses, almost a month later. While everyone was really nice, I wish my review could be a little better. If you want great service and want to wait a really long time for your eyewear then I would recommend going to this LensCrafters. read more

I purchased glasses at this LensCrafters a year ago. Supposedly the lenses were compressed, progressive bifocals made to my written perscription. Was told I would have them in a week; it took almost a month to get them. I went back numerous times because I could not read with them but they assured me the perscription was correct, the glasses just needed to be adjusted. At my check-up with my regular optomotrist the other day, they said the perscription in the lenses is not my perscription and I would not be able to read with the glasses. I went to another optician to have them re-checked today, and again, they told me the perscription in the glasses is not mine. I paid $600 for those glasses! Now I have to buy new ones after only one year. BEWARE! Don't trust LensCrafters in Midlothian to fill you eyeglass perscrition. read more

To start off.....it took about 5 minutes to be greeted (a group of the employees were hovered at one desk all talking). A young gentleman (his name tag identified that he was a supervisor but not an optician) finally came over to speak with us - we asked about Eyemed insurance and the frames that are covered and also inquired about getting an exam. He looked up the insurance and said frames at $80 were covered and then recommended polycarbonate lenses with a premium non-reflective lens. I told him that the prescription was very weak and just to be used minimally (-0.50 in both eyes) and asked about using plastic lenses for optical acuity and factoring in scratchability issues. He told me that he didn't recommend plastic lenses as the optics were not as good as polycarbonate and they scratch much more than poly......Really??? How much did this young guy know?? His answers were robotic and completely lacked knowledge. When we went to look at frames, he then told us that they didn't have any frames under $99 and that we would need to play 20% over any frames over $80. What a scam. With regard to the exam - he told us the doctor was out of the office for lunch (at 4:00 p.m.???) and when we went over there, I saw people back in the hallway but the door was still locked. After reading the reviews of the doctor's office right now....glad we didn't wait. Needless to say.....out of there .....need to find a place that has opticians that actually know what they are doing and not what they are told to say. read more
