I had purchased a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses and three months later one of the lenses popped out, I went back to get them fixed, and when the woman saw me take the glasses out she rudely told me they no longer carried that brand, I tried to explain that I had only recently purchased them and they were under warranty, she loudly and even more rudely said that they no longer carried Maui Jims and I should leave. Well, I have a warranty with Lenscrafters, but I sure wasn't going to do any further business with them, and left, the woman with whom I had initially made contact with just stood by silently horrified by the way her colleague was acting, I apologized to her and left the store. read more

I purchased a set of designer (Coach) prescription glasses at LensCrafters. They didn't fit well from the start. I went back in repeatedly and the person at the counter kept adjusting them, telling me that the frames were too soft but assuring me that they could fix them (and that if they couldn't, they would replace them). This went on until they broke in my home, past the warrantee period (probably why the LensCrafters associate kept telling me that they would fix them, to run out the clock). When I went in, despite the fact that they have records of all of these issues, the store said 'so sorry' and offered to have me buy new glasses at 50% off even though I just spent $500 less than a year ago. I sent in a claim and have gotten nowhere with the company. I spent over $500 on this garbage. DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR MONEY. read more

Great for ordering different colored contact lenses. I used to have them years ago (before lasik and then my lasik only lasted 10 years) and usually would buy the blue or green. You'd really be amazed how they can change your look especially since I like the blue or green contacts with blonde hair. Great and friendly service! read more

I went in to order more contacts since I wear both contacts and glasses and holy hell the brunette had something up her ass. Didn't even say hello when I walked in and gave me wicked attitude. I was told by the doctor my prescription was good for another 6 months (that way I didn't have to do another exam). She told me I needed to redo my eye exam that I did 10 days ago? And pay more!!!!! Went here on my birthday thinking my eye doctor had faxed my prescription (they hadn't) the sales rep called my eye doctor to have it re-faxed for me. They then helped me find my perfect frames and had them set up and sized within an hour! After a few weeks I had lost some weight and the glasses were a bit loose, they resized them for me as a walk in, in less than 10 minutes. Incredible service! read more

I'm visiting from Arizona and walked into this Lenscrafters on a busy Saturday hoping they could help me. My contact lens was bothering me the day before and after rubbing my eye for too long I removed it. Only part of it came out but I was not able to find the rest so finally walked into this Lenscrafters. They took me right away and the doctor was able to locate the missing piece and remove it. My wife and I were encouraged to buy the warranty for replacement during the first year of having our glasses. glad I remembered when it was because they will not remind you this of the expiration date. when I called to make the appointment the guy just said it's walk in for that, and you don't need appt. I asked. what if my prescription has changed a little over the past year. as we have had Covid a few times and it seems it has ? don't I need to schedule an appointment with the optometrist. I don't mind paying for that service. his reply was no. if you need anything changed on the scrip, as he called it. your plan won't cover that. we just replace it with the same thing you have. So my advice. do not buy the protection plan if you're gonna need a different prescription possibly. total rip off, and they were rude. Saint Augustine location in Florida. The place I was using for my glasses stopped taking my insurance and I was informed that LensCrafters took my insurance. I ended up getting 3 pairs from them and bought warranties on all 3 pairs. A name brand pair of eye glasses, a name brand pair of sunglasses and a pair of prescription safety glasses. The eye glasses were supposed to be scratch resistant and they got so I can barely see through them. The generic brand from the previous place I had gotten my old pair are in better shape. The sunglasses fell apart and I never even used them and the safety glasses fell apart and for so called scratch resistant they became completely useless. So I went back to get all 3 pairs fixed. Well the warranties I paid for expired. I've never heard of a warranty that you buy expiring. And they put the lens back in my sunglasses. When I asked about buying a new pair I was informed that they no longer take my insurance and my sunglasses fell apart again 5 minutes down the road while I was driving home after leaving LensCrafters after just getting them fixed. read more

I had been a long time customer. No longer; I'm done with LensCrafters. Here's why: About three years ago I purchased progressive lenses from LensCrafters that turned out to be plainly defective - within several months of purchase smudges developed that interfered with my ability to use them for their intended purpose. The smudges were in the lenses themselves and could not be removed by cleaning. I brought them back to the store. The salesperson advised that she could not help me because of the terms of the LensCrafters warranty (which, however, is inapplicable to a problem caused by a consumer product defect). I persisted. I pointed out the obvious defect, and they had no way to refute it. So they replaced the lenses. However, they did so reluctantly, and would not have done so had I not stood firm after they first said no. I left with a bad taste in my mouth, but reckoned that at least I got the defective lenses replaced. Sadly, we weren't done. Turns out LensCrafters replaced one set of defective lenses with yet another! Within a few months, the smudges developed again! The second time I went back to LensCrafters they refused to replace the defective lenses. LensCrafters still had no explanation for why smudges would develop so soon after the lenses were made. They suggested that I was not cleaning them properly. They could not say what it was I was doing wrong, and had no comment when I showed them a pair of reading glasses that I purchased from LensCrafters at the same time as the defective lenses that did not develop the smudges even though I'd cleaned them in the same way as the defective lenses. (I've been wearing eyeglasses for decades. I know how to clean my eyeglasses, for goodness sake, and have never had a problem like this with lenses going bad after just a few months.) Bottom line: LensCrafters sold me lenses that were plainly defective, and then refused to stand behind their product. Based upon the rather odd reaction from the salespeople both times I returned the defective LensCrafters lenses, it is difficult to see how the company was not aware of the problem when they replaced my lenses. The above is enough to make me never want to do business with LensCrafters again. But there is even more to this sad tale. When I went back to LensCrafters to return the second pair of defective lenses, I also brought back a pair of broken Brooks Brothers frames that had different lenses that I used only for reading. They broke because I slept on them, my fault this time! But the lenses were fine (these were the lenses that I showed LensCrafters when they suggested that I caused the problem with the defective lenses; see above). So I wanted to replace the frames and reuse the lenses. The salesperson's immediate reaction? "I don't think these frames are available any longer." She spent a few minutes checking something on a computer and reconfirmed that replacement frames are no longer available. I'd have to buy new frames. I left the store. No way I'd pay another penny to buy anything from this company. The kicker? I needed a new place to get my eyeglasses. So I went to a local optometrist for my eye exam and to inquire about the lense problem and about replacement frames for my reading glasses. Result? The local optometrist is making me new progressive lenses for my current frames to replace the ones from LensCrafters that were smudged. (He confirmed that, indeed, the lenses were defective; lenses don't smudge like that unless there is something wrong with them.) And the Brooks Brothers frames that LensCrafters said are no longer available? They are available. The local optometrist tracked them down. They are going to put my old reading lenses into new frames and save me the cost of purchasing new frames. My recent experience with LensCrafters was the single worst I've had in recent memory with a retail business. They refused to stand behind what they sold to me; they suggested that I was responsible for their defective product; and they provided half-hearted (I'm trying to be kind) "service" when they advised that replacement frames were unavailable when that turned out not to be the case. read more

I came into the Providence Place Mall location and was looking for a specific pair of Rayban frames. A man who later referred to himself as the store manager acted as if I was an inconvenience and provided little service. When I asked him about the frames he first said "what is out is what we have", which I translated into " I am too lazy to assist you, so if you can't find it you're shit out of luck". Once I found the frames on my own I noticed they were small and asked him if he had a larger size. He appeared inconvenienced (once again) and said "they only make one size" (without checking on this). I pulled out my phone and looked it up and replied "I'm afraid you're wrong, they do have a larger size. Could you look in back to see if you have it?" He then said once again "What we have is out, I will call another store and get back to you in 2 days". It's been over a week and I haven't heard a word. I came in to buy a very expensive pair of glasses and provide lenscrafters with my business. The store manager came across as rude, uneducated on his products, and uninterested in making a sale. My experience left a sour taste in my mouth and even if I was to receive a call tomorrow I would take my business elsewhere. Not a good way to run a business. read more

Yeah, how the mighty have fallen. Went in for my usual Saturday exam and then over for glasses. They were mobbed. No on ever acknowledged me. After about 45 minutes I asked when is be able to be assisted as I wanted to try on some higher end frames that were locked onto the peg. I wasn't even given an estimate. There were so many people Milling about and waiting with trays to be helped I would say a good quarter of the non lock and key shelves were empty. People were falling over themselves and each other to try and get what was left on the shelves and forget about getting to a mirror quickly to see how things were looking. I also have a larger face and prefer my glasses to be on the bigger side and wanted to see if they could get the larger size ray bans or not. I never got to ask my questions. I'm a very easy sell, and am always motivated to buy and they really missed out on what would have been a potentially painless transaction. Instead, I walked out of there prescription in hand and treated myself to lunch at nordstroms while reviewing some awesome frames on coastal.com. $99 later and I'm 2 pairs of styling updated prescriptions happier. And for the remaining $200 I would have been spending at LensCrafters I got a well deserved first hand winter coat and boots. read more

I have gone to several Lenscrafters looking for someone to adjust my new glasses. But no one would take the time or would do it correctly. While in the area, we stopped at this Lenscrafters hoping someone could help me. One woman suggested that we wait for Anthony because he does a terrific job. She was certainly right. There was a wait so we shopped around for awhile then returned. Anthony was well mannered and very professional. He acknowledged that I have an extremely small head and face. But he took the time to try different things until my glasses fit me perfectly. Even when we returned after dinner so he could make another minor adjustment, he was still nice as ever. I am not sure why we had to go out of state before finding someone who would do this for me. Everyone else seemed as though they didn't care or didn't want to bother. Anthony is terrific! read more

Had a terrible experience with the eye doctor here. 1) There was NO ONE in line ahead of me, but it still took ONE HOUR to see the optometrist (with an appointment) 2) He did not take his time in the slightest and prescribed me contact lenses that were from a prescription from five years ago 3) He prescribed me a bi-weekly lense and told me that I could just replace them monthly to save money - NOT SAFE 4) The secretaries did not understand my insurance and overcharged me $75. There is a reason that these guys are in a mall. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! read more

Have a pair of Oakley prescription sunglasses I purchased less than six months ago and the nose bridge piece keeps coming off. I took it back and was told their is nothing they can do. I was told to go to the Oakley website for help. The fact that I their protection plan didn't mean anything. This is one of the most expensive places to buy glasses and they don't stand behind what they sell or honor their own warranty. Once they have your money you are screwed. read more

I used to like Lenscrafters for years. But two years ago my sun glasses lenses got what seemed water spots on them. The employee told me they were sand scratches............. but I had not been near any sand. Anyway I did not insist and just got new glasses. Now the same thing happens to my regular glasses. Still nowhere near sand, I am always careful with them. Lenscrafters just told me to bring them back if I had a protection plan, which I don't. After reading a lot of similar experiences from other customers, I contacted them again to bring that fact to them. I am waiting to hear their response. Their answer will show what kind of customer services they have. Right now I do not think I will ever use their company again. read more

I have visited this LensCrafters several times now seeing the eye doctor for contacts as well as shopping for glasses in the store. They are equally awful. 1. The girls at the front desk were rude, could not help me, and seemed like they had no idea what they were doing! 2. The actual eye doctor was pleasant but rushed through everything and was not personable. 3. THEY GAVE ME THE WRONG BOX OF CONTACTS!! They ordered the wrong box for me and I couldn't see anything! I called and told them I couldn't see and my prescription didn't change yet they gave me the wrong box and they accused me of being wrong. When they finally agreed to order me the right contacts they did it as if it were a hassle. 4. The man working in the glasses shop basically had the same opinion of every pair I tried on. Seemed liked he just wanted to make the sale and really had no knowledge about glasses or care about actually helping me. read more

I went to the optometrist's office affiliated with Lenscrafters (next door). The good news is I left with what seems to be a proper contact lens prescription. But in the process it made for an extremely aggravating experience. I specifically asked how much the appointment was and they said they could put it through insurance and it would be a $40 copay. Then at the end of my appointment they told me the contacts would be $400 for a year supply and that they matched 1-800-contacts price. I said hmm usually I only pay 300-something so she checked and came back with $360 so I said ok. Then as I go to pay, they tell me the total is $460 -- huh? Turns out there was a separate 'contact lens fitting fee' of $60 that they failed to mention despite my clear attempt to get a price up front. So I didn't buy the contacts from them -- and good thing too -- they lied again. The 1-800-contacts price was $320 and I actually found them at JustLenses for less than $300. Overall, not a trust-worthy organization clearly and I would avoid going back. But in a pinch, if you can figure out their price structure then you can get an appointment quite quickly which is what I needed. read more

I had fantastic hospitality when I stopped in to purchase a new pair of glasses a couple of days ago. The person that helped me was Anthony and he was absolutely wonderful and helpful from the moment you walk in until the moment you leave. He gave me my options of glasses frames, knew the difference between brands, and gave me my price options for the lenses. I didn't realize how quickly lenscrafters can make your glasses. Compared to a different optical that I went too, it was going to take almost three weeks to make the glasses. After an hour I came back and the glasses were ready to go. The associate gave me a contact case and solution so I could wear my glasses out and make sure they were fit perfectly to my face. I had a wonderful experience at Lenscrafters and I would suggest it to friends and family. read more

I was just in Lens Crafters a short time ago trying to get a replacement pair of glasses for my daughter under the warranty after my daughter's glasses were accidentally stepped on. We were open to other styles had my daughter's glasses not been available, but obviously preferred the replacement be same style # she was used to and loved. We asked if they had that particular style #, but much to our disappointment they did not so we had to look for a new style. First off he didn't check the computer to see to see if they HAD my daughters style #. He simply looked on the D&G rack to see if they were there. When I asked again he opened a drawer under the D&G display, looked briefly and said he didn't have them. Then he just stood there looking annoyed as we looked through the glasses on the racks trying to find a suitable replacement. When I found a pair of D&G glasses that were the same style as my daughters aside from being the wrong color I was excited and asked if he had them in black. He said, "no." I then asked if he could call other stores (which I feel he should've offered) ..he supposedly did and they supposedly said they did not have them either. We were Disappointed, but since she needed another pair of glasses, we continued looking for a pair she liked. As we walked around the store , my daughter blindly fumbled through the racks, trying on frames, but unfortunately she wasn't seeing anything she really liked (mind you, she wasn't wearing her glasses as they were broken). He still stood around like he was talking a nap with his eyes open not helping of offering any input. I grew extremely frustrated at this point, and even more frustrated that he noticed I was frustrated and didn't seem to care. I walked out into the mall to give myself a minute and decided to pick up my phone to call Warwick Mall Lescrafters. I explained the situation and they said they'd check if they had the glasses. They did! Now am now at lens crafters in the Warwick mall waiting for my daughter's glasses. Thanks for nothing, Providence Place Lens Crafters. I should've went to Warwick Mall in the first place I'm glad I went with my gut and took it upon myself to call another store because according to Warwick Mall they never got a call regarding my daughter's glasses! read more

Granted, I've never actually purchased a pair of glasses here, but twice now I've brought my glasses in (bought at a local eyeglass store out of town) to have screws replaced on the hinges, and both times they were happy to help and fixed them at no charge. The staff were super friendly and it's one of those rare retail moments where you walk away with a spring in your step. read more

Went to there couple of days before in evening, I got glasses with lens so they told me they will make it ready in hour but I said I have to be somewhere so will pick up next morning and They promised it will be ready by 9:30am and I went there at 10:15am , they informed me I have to wait for one more hour. I had to reschedule my train ticket coz of it , they don't have courtesy to say sorry at least. Never going there again. They don't care about customer once you paid. read more

I have been a eye patient with Lens crafters in the providence place mall, since they were located at the warwick mall and even well before that. I recently went to lens crafters to place an order for contact lenses and I was made aware that my prescription had expired less than two months ago. I could not afford a new eye exam until my following pay check, which would have been less than a week, so I asked if I could be given a trial pair of contacts to hold me over until I got paid because my last pair of contacts had a rip in one of them and I was told NO. I have been such a loyal patient for so many years and I feel they could have at least slipped me a pair to hold me over in these hard times. I am no longer an eye patient at lens crafters and never will be again. P.S your welcome lens crafters for over a decade of my loyalty to you. read more

My experience in the actual store was pretty good. Found a nice pair of glasses, price wasn't bad, salespeople were helpful. Then when I got home I realized that the charge for the optional one-year protection plan that I had CLEARLY declined while in the store was on my receipt. Very sketchy, Lenscrafters. I usually never have a problem with going to the Optometrists office. For the past few years I have been a customer at Vision Associates in Woonsocket for my annual eye test and glasses, and never had a problem. Since I was living in Providence at the time I needed something close and convenient and this was as close as it got since it was right next to Lenscrafters in Providence Place Mall. I have been here twice since it was a necessity, the first time they charged me $90 for an eye exam that took less than 7 minutes he was very minimal on the questions in regards to my eyes. I had no problem paying $90 since I had no eye insurance and I was expecting it would cost me a lot of money. However, the second time I had eye insurance and only required a $15 co-payment. The testing process lasted a little more time this time around since I made it clear that I was having major headaches and I knew I needed a prescription update since I haven't had one in 2 years and a half. To my surprise he said that I didn't need an update since my eyesight hasn't changed much. I went to front desk with my paperwork and she wanted to charge me $15 for the exam and $45 for a prescription update (which I clearly had none). She spoke to the doctor and resolved this issue but I was surprised that they would charge $45 for a prescription update! That is unbelievable! I would NOT be going back here again. They doctor doesn't really care about any problems that you are having with your eyes since he didn't even write any of the issues I was having down on my paper. I don't mind spending the extra money for quality and service but this place has NEITHER! Spend your money elsewhere. read more

I returned my mother's glasses to the store....there was a white film on the lenses and it was getting so large on both lenses that she could hardly see out of them. Chris DiLibero looked at the lenses and noted immediately that they were defective. He was courteous and knowledgeable. Within an hour, the lenses were replaced at no charge. My issue was more with the optometrists office rather than Lenscrafters but unfortunately because of my experience at the doctors office, I will never go to this Lenscrafters location again. I went to this office for a regular eye exam since my normal doctor could not see me for months and I will never go here again! The staff was extremely rude, not friendly and, unhelpful. They tried to charge me for one regular eye exam and then another $100 for a separate exam for my contacts--I have worn contacts for years and never had to pay for a second fitting let alone every year like they tried to tell me I would have to do. Only trying to get people in their office twice so they can charge you twice--RIP OFF! read more
