I went in for my yearly exam and a new pair of glasses. Upon arriving I had to have a temperature check fill out the Covid form and answer some Additional questions and wait to be seated. That was a smooth process. Upon entering I was able to walk around and look for glasses to purchase and give them to the customer service rep for after my eye exam. The tech took me back and performed the normal puff of air in your eyes and follow the red dot exams and then the doctor Performed his exams and answered my questions. All in all it was a good visit. At the end upon ordering my glasses the customer service rep attempted to nickel and dime me for every feature of my glasses and they really irritated me. When I went back to pick up the glasses I was informed they no longer give customers the eyeglass cleaner and cloth! I was really done with them after that! I'll probably be looking for a new optician and eyeglass company. read more

The employees seem to think helping certain people and not others is a game and funny apparently because when I was told I couldn't be helped two of the girls had smirks allover their faces and got a good chuckle out of the fact they didn't want to accommodate me. high rating only due to the customer service given by your employee tiffany calalorse (spelling?). she was knowledgeable and efficient with a winning personality. my initial contact was a rude and incompetentemployee who obviously needs additional training. maybe she should spend some time with tiffany. a friend who was working with yet another staff member (and getting nowhere) met fiffany when i picked up my glasses. tiffany selected glasses for her and contrary to what she had been previously told, her insurance would pay part of the cost. if lenscrafters were my company, i would consider tiffany managerial material. read more

I had to switch Lenscrafters locations after my local mall closed and put the Lenscrafters out of business in Rutland, VT. I was told that my records were in Saratoga Springs. I've never been out there before, so I figured I would go for a ride and was not disappointed. The staff were all very accommodating and friendly. The new video conferencing style of doing my eye exam was interesting. I had no idea that they could do that. Rest assured, I will be back in the future. read more

They have a good staff and a lot of frame variety. But if you are walking in, and you see more customers than staff, be prepared to wait a while. The few working here today had to do "staging acts" to deal with customers. It did not help that the optometrist, between appointments, would stroll around in the main room and chat with the other employees when they were doing things at the desk (delaying them from getting back to their customers). By all means, know what discounts and refunds you have available. There are a lot of options, and sometimes the in-store discounts and sales are better than the regular discounts (e.g. AAA). read more

Came here to get my eyes checked the people were so dang rude. Told me I was 15 min late like okay I just drove two hours to get here you don't need to remind me that I am late. I think it's generally just people from New York are like that. It's really unattractive and you live on customer service. I will be getting my eye exam and leaving. read more

An outstanding experience - from the initial phone contact to the final finished product! While traveling, my husband's metal frame cracked around the lens and was not repairable. Luckily, he has Rx sunglasses, but needed regular glasses immediately! The opthamologist was able to email my husband's Rx, and Nick was able to copy it from the iPhone. The frame was no longer available (it was 5-6 years old and the terrific woman on the phone (Katie?) had already searched on availability), but Nick tried hard to find a similar style that might accommodate the existing lenses. That wasn't possible, so he suggested a nearly identical style by the same company, confirmed the lenses were available, and did all the necessary measurements. In one hour they were ready with the new Rx, ground perfectly, and the final adjustments by K(?) made for a perfect fit and improved vision. The store itself is large, bright,and has a good selection of frames. Oh, and Nick went above and beyond and tried to repair the old frames with tape and shrink-wrap. Not pretty, but good enough to be an emergency backup! It should be noted that several of the bad reviews are from persons in Oregon and Ohio that, from the context, are unlikely to be dealing with the Saratoga Springs store for which my review was written. It's a shame that YELP doesn't ensure that reviews are posted for a specific store, when it involves a nationwide chain. The Wilton Mall location is top-notch! read more

Additionally, my daughter wanted to explore contact lenses, but was told we had to return next week because no one was available today. This was the worst customer service I have ever experienced ! I went in to get a new pair of safety glass for work. We are working 70 hrs a week so I don't have a lot of time. Thus the 1 hour glasses at LensCrafters . Well to start they blew two of lenses right away. So instead of having my glasses in a hour, I had to come back the next day for them. The next day I had worn my glasses for around five hours, when I noticed my being reflected in the lenses. So sitting there noticing that there were now two TV sets in my lenses I asked myself what had changed. Well I had turned the lights off and was watching tv in the dark. So I decided to try to drive with them on the next morning as it was still dark . I wanted to test rather or not I would see double the car lights and street lights. And of course I was seeing double the light reflected in the lenses. So that night after working a twelve hour shift I dropped back into LensCrafters to see what was the problem. The manager told me she did not have the expertise to know what the problem was , so she deferred me to her most experience associate. Who told me the lights and tv was reflecting off of my side shields of the safety glasses and if I took the side shields off that would stop the reflecting issue. I said that was ridiculous that an object in front of me was being reflected through the side of my glasses and back to the front. But giving them the benefit of doubt I had the side shields removed and proceeded to drive home. It was night time so I could see immediately that taking the side shields off did nothing to solve the problem. Two weeks later I got off work early enough to swing back into the LensCrafters . I told them that I thought the problem was the lack of a reflective coating on the lense. I said I specifically asked for the AR coating as I always have it on all my glasses . The lady told me that they can not put an AR coating on a Saftey lense that it was illegal. And that most likely the reflection was a simple adjustment issue . I told her that was ridiculous that my lenses reflecting everything back at me was an adjust issue. I said I came to LensCrafters because I thought I could get my glasses in an hour. And that I was working six days a week 70+ hours a week and did not have the time for her to play the lets adjust your glasses to see if it solves the problem game. While the clock ticks on my 30 day money back gaurrenttee . I asked what adjustment would cause me to get such a reflection. She could not answer my question. Then made some off handed remark about if I was seeing a doctor for a problem I would give him the opertunity to try different things to solve the problem. As if her adjusting glasses was as complex as a doctor diagnosing a problem with something as complex as the human body. To make matters worse the manager could not give me any satisfaction ! She just kept saying she only has two year experience , and she would have to defer to her more exsperianced associates. So now nobody could give me a reason for what I was seeing in the lense. They just wanted me to let them adjust the glasses without being able to tell me what other then not having a AR coating would cause the double reflection . So dumbfounded I asked for my money back. Now Because my Visa card had been hacked recently they could not put the money back on my card so they are sending me a check. In about 3 to 4 weeks I should get a check. As I was leaving a manager from the other store asked me what the problem was with the glasses. I told him the problem and that I was dumbfounded with the lack of knowledge and professionalism and customer service this LensCrafters has to offer. He said he was sorry but that it was very obviously the fact that there is no AR coating on the lenses. And that they could do that for me if I would sign a waver. I said all this time wasted on talking to these ladies, to no avail and finally someone gives me a real answer to the problem. I said its to little to late. I will never ever go to this LensCrafters again they are the worst I have ever seen in the business ! Don't waist your time or money here. read more

Just stopped at Wilton mall Lens Crafters they need some courses in customer service. Would not give me a quote without prescription so I called my doctor who said as soon as they had time they would fax it over. I told the girl that was waiting on me and she thought that was not acceptable that they should have dropped everything to fax that over. So I told her I have a picture of the actual prescription that they are going to fax over so see agreed to quote me. The progressive lenses I wanted were over $500 dollars so she told me they be 50% off the price of the lenses plus whatever the frames are. Now I already pointed out the frames I wanted so I asked so what would the total be. She looked at me and said it's 50% off the lenses plus whatever the frames cost and I looked at her and told her I was going to shop around. She wanted me to do all the work for a quote their I was prepared to buy a pair that day even though the lenses were about the most expensive lenses I have been quoted so far. read more

Worst glasses prescription I have ever had. After spending close to $800 for the overpriced exam and bifocals I am left with glasses that I cannot see anything in the mid range. I can drive with them and if I can read close up but nothing in between. I went back in for an adjustment that was completely useless. The lady adjusted the nose piece and told me to rearrange my computer station. I looked more closely at this prescription and my past ones and discovered they left off the axis and cylinder - probably why I can't see anything in the middle. It is infuriating. I have to go see another optometrist to get a set of glasses I can actually really see out of. read more
