I have been going to this LensCrafters for over 10+ years but the last time March 2024. I was very disappointed. 1. they do not do glasses on site anymore. 2. glasses I purchase have been giving me problems with poor reflecting thru the lens. I am cleaning the glasses two-four times a day. My husband glasses are reacting the same. I purchase Poly photo transitions premium anti reflective an uv protection with photochromic grey. Total scam artists. I bought new glasses and asked for coverage under Florida Blue. After denying they were in-network, I learned that they were and was entitled to $200 back. When I asked for that, they said my net price would go up some $300 because I could not combine it with their Labor Day sale. The Labor Day ads said nothing about insurance invalidating the price. The staff are nice and friendly. My family and I have had no issue with our eye exam at this location. I am one of customer whose data was compromise in Luxottica data breach in 2021. On 11/09/23 I had place a phone order for my brother's contact lens at this location, the credit credit used for this phone order is rarely used. So I was quite upset when it was fraudulently used on 12/18/23, therefore it concerns me that either there was another data breach or there was mishandling with my data at time of phone order. read more

I spent over a year visiting 2 different America's "Best" locations with the saddest, most inaccurate service I care to mention, ever again. The cost and headache alone, well, they never did get my prescription correct, and no one there would listen to me. Dr. Webb at LensCrafters listened, addressed, and clearly explained the answers to my questions. Which, might I add, were basic, uncomplicated questions! Where can I negative tap, horrible service and pricing. I spent over 800.00 on 1 pair and they had the audacity, when I asked price on lenses only on 2nd pair for 450 - 800. Steer AWAY from this St Petersburg location inside Tyrone Mall unless you are desperate and don't mind bad services or attitudes. Today, my daughter and I, we came in to pick up our glasses. The lady (blonde hair) sitting at the desk gave us the most nasty services and wanted us gone faster than we came in. She won't let us approach the 2 workers in the back and insisted that we must stop at her desk and cannot go further. I barely just tried on my 2 glasses and said it fit right and left because the vibe was so bad. She does not seem like to enjoy her job nor being there. The store was quiet on Monday afternoon at 3pm and yet the service was beyond horrendous. If you need to use Lens crafter please go elsewhere or go to Bradenton since other locations are just as bad. read more

I have been going to the eye doctor for 18 years in random locations. This wasn't the best, but it wasn't the worst. I got there 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork and still wasn't taken back until 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment. I'm not sure what was going on but there was only one other patient there. It was the beginning of the day for them as far as I know. After being taken back, I was put through the average eye tests and then had the retinal photomap. I was disappointed that he didn't really go over the results other than saying that my eyes were okay. I started to ask about it and he just said the same thing again. Their office is pretty digital when it comes to the machine and changing the eye glass thing you can see the numbers out of, I don't honestly know what it's called. It was kind of worrisome, just because he only did it like 3 different ways and in the past I've had like 15+ "which is better" questions per eye. I wasn't even sure if my script changed or not until I got home. I also had a contact fitting. This was disappointing. The room was a mess. He apologized for it but still you could have used a different room. In the past, in other offices, someone has sat down and went over the options with me. I was handed contacts and no direction. I assumed I was supposed to put them in. I asked what the difference was between the contacts I had before and these because I noticed the packaging was different. He didn't seem to know. It would be helpful for someone to have knowledge of the product before use. Also I asked if the contacts power was the same and didn't really get an answer. Overall, the staff was average. This location is in the mall so it's a huge storefront with a large area to shop glasses and a very tiny makeshift office. Would I go back? Probably not. I've had better service elsewhere but needed a Sunday appointment and they were the only ones who offered in my area. It would help for the doctor to have knowledge of products before recommending. At least it was clean other than the "contact room". read more

So I am not typically the person who rants on reviews. The level of customer service I have received at this location is terrible. Every time I call there is a 20% chance they will actually pick up the phone. The girl who works the appointments desk all but rolls her eyes and sighs in exasperation when she is asked to check on my order status. This is my 4th interaction with her each time more miserable than the last. The actual eye doctor is great but I have to wade through a level of incompetence to actually speak with her. I'm finally getting around to doing this review because I get more annoyed the more I try to use my glasses. I'll start by saying I had my glasses done at this location over a year ago, but I want people to know my experience so they can take it into consideration when choosing an optometrist. My eyeglass frames are a very oversized European brand that are not the norm in Florida, or in St Pete anyway. When I moved here from the East Coast and needed to get the lenses replaced, I stupidly decided to go to LensCrafters, since that was the main option if I used my insurance. I do want to mention that the only reason why I was replacing the lenses is because I'd scratched them all up while cleaning them incorrectly and I also thought my eyesight had gotten a bit worse. Firstly, I had to have the vision exam done twice because the LensCrafter's optometrist didn't do it right the first time. When I went in to see him I mentioned right away that I was told by my (very good) optometrist in NJ that I had a prism. He had no idea what I was talking about and said he'd never heard of it. That should've been my indication to walk out then and there, but I decided to go for it anyway, because he acted like he knew what he was talking about. I should've known better. Secondly, when I asked the people in the main room if they'd be able to work with my glasses, they said they could but they wouldn't be able to make sure they fit my face afterward because the frames are so thick. That should've been my other indication, seeing as my tiny neighborhood optometrist's office in NJ (that had also never worked with my type of glasses before) were able to do my exam so I could see perfectly AND make sure my glasses fit me. Now I'm stuck with glasses who's progressive lenses cost over $300 that I can't see out of all that well. I'm constantly trying to adjust them but this doesn't quite work, especially in any kind of bright light conditions that causes the prism issues I have, like at work... or at night when bright light hits my eyes, or etc. Thanks, LensCrafters. Thanks a lot. I'd give you 0 stars if I could. I almost gave 2 stars, only because the workers in the main store were very nice and tried to be helpful. The optometrist was an overly arrogant jerk. I just looked up "eyeglasses prism" on google and got a ton of legit hits, the first one being the American Academy of Opthamology. Now I'm even more annoyed. read more

I went to Lens Crafters because they carry Ray Ban sunglasses, I also wanted a regular pair of glasses. First thing I noticed was they don't have a big selection of regular frames, in fact, most of the frames they offer are high end. It also wasn't really clear where the men's frames were, everything is kind of thrown together, and their showroom could use a bit of sprucing up. I must have walked around for at least 5 minutes before anyone even greeted me. I knew that a pair of polarized Ray Bans were going to be expensive, and the person who took care of me was friendly but never introduced themselves to me. After the sunglasses were taken care of I had a hard time finding a pair of frames I liked no matter the price. Once I found a pair I was floored by the cost of non glare single vision lenses, they were expensive even after they knocked of the "40%". I decided to just go with the sunglasses. I bought the sunglasses, but went to Vision Works and got a much better deal on 2 pair of glasses, that were the same cost as what LC wanted for a single pair. I know that you get what you pay for, but most frames are made by the same company, and they just stick a name brand on them. I've never had an issue with $90 frames, as long as you take care of them they last a good couple years and that's all you need. read more

I don't care how often Dr. Fisher's wife calls patients to apologize, NOTHING HAS CHANGED FOR YEARS DESPITE HER PLEADING FOR FORGIVENESS. I HAVE WITNESSED IT. If these people actually gave a damn about their practice, the entire front desk staff would be sacked and replaced with people with basic customer service skills and human decency. Incompetent and utterly useless doesn't even begin to describe any of them. Stop begging your customers for forgiveness if you're not going to make any effort to improve your practice and stop completely ripping people off. If you're ordering contacts, don't expect them to arrive for months on end. Don't expect a trial pair so you can see what's in front of you while you wait for your contacts, either. They will offer you empty promises of, "Oh we're soooo sorry, we don't know what happened, we'll just send you more contacts for your inconvenience!" But then these contacts somehow never arrive, and curiously they "don't know what happened" EVERY SINGLE TIME CONTACTS ARE ORDERED AND MAGICALLY NEVER DELIVERED. AMAZING. Also expect to have to jump through hoops for your prescription if you want to order contacts elsewhere, so you can, you know, SEE THINGS. I guess I'll just be blind. Thanks Dr. Fisher! read more

COVID made me weary of the close contact with others. I found the store to be aware of my safety and theirs. Sanitation from start to finish. The equipment they use does not require close contact with anyone. The Dr was knowledgeable and explained exactly what my issues were without making me feel he was talking down to me. This is a problem I have faced being a senior, especially with younger people. Everyone was pleasant and polite. He answered every question, I never felt rushed. I intend to keep seeing the doctor for my eye needs. The young lady that helped me with frames and lenses was focused on me getting not only a frame that looked good but had the best lenses for my problems. I have had problems with my vision since I was a child so I know when they are just trying to sell me something I don't need. I highly recommend this store. read more

Overall unpleasant experience with this practice. Chose to make an appointment the first time due to convenient hours, but apparently this must be a big draw for their patients, as the "waiting room" was packed without a single place to sit. After waiting longer then expected, I was brought into the room, where Dr. Fisher quickly dilated my eyes, then asked me to go back out and "Sit" in the "waiting room" (keep in mind there's still no place to sit)... 20 minutes later was brought back in and rushed through the exam. Upon checking out, I was scheduled for a follow-up exam in 2 weeks to check and make sure everything was alright. I asked since they had to dilated my eyes again, that we also do a full eye exam since I was due for one anyway. The receptionist said she had to check with the doctor, who said it wouldn't be a problem. When I called and made the original appointment I was told that they could not accept insurance at that time, but they would provide me with an itemized receipt to submit to my insurance. When I submitted this to my insurance, they rejected it due to it not being filled out correctly. Seeing as the doctor signed off on it, it only went on to further verify how rushed the entire process was. When I called to ask for a new receipt, they really made a big deal about it and asked me to wait to pick it up at the next appointment. Eventually I was able to convince the person on the other end of the phone to fax me the receipt, which only came across as blurry and dark... Finally, when I returned for my second appointment, I had a 10am appointment which I'm assuming is the first appointment of the day, but upon arriving there literally was once again no place to sit. Luckily, I didn't need a seat, as they had no record of my eye exam that was scheduled, and I had enough of the incompetence. They did, however, have a record of the follow-up appointment, and perhaps if they made appointment reminder calls, emails, or texts this whole ordeal could have been avoided. They did offer an 11am appointment, but at this point will find a new eye doctor. Wouldn't recommend, and certainly won't return. Fingers crossed that the new receipt they gave me was completed correctly and I don't have to return again. read more

I had an exam in Chicago before moving down here. They didn't have my trial lenses and assured me they would be mailed to this location and the doctors here would do my follow-up exam. It took awhile to get everything sorted and shipped, and the lady on the phone here was not too courteous with my questioning what was going on. So, three weeks later, yesterday, I called the Chicago location to find out the status of my trial contacts, as my insurance runs out at the end of August. I was told they were delivered to this location on the 23rd. I called here yesterday and was told they had nothing. They deflect to the Macy's location even though I stated multiple times it was THIS address. I had to request they call Chicago. She said she would and would call me back. Well, I heard nothing. So, I walked in today for an update because now I'm irritated. Granted I was not happy, but the attitude, excuses, and incompetence on their end did not help... The lady at the desk said she was going to call me but had to talk to someone... I told her I hadn't received a call, which is why I walked in, and it was funny how they had an answer for me when I show up but couldn't call me back. They claimed Chicago didn't have a record of sending anything and they hadn't received anything. The doctor also stated he would refuse me a follow-up because they did not do my initial exam (mind you- Chicago says it's not preferred because the doctors are not part of Lenscrafters, but would do it to satisfy customers... I was not happy as I was told this location would do the same and have already moved). So... I called he Chicago location and within minutes had a tracking number, showing the delivery a week ago. THE FRONT DESK LADY LIED TO ME. And wouldn't you know some guy found my trials within minutes... and again more excuses about how the LensCrafters side had them- not the doctor side... Makes no sense. The staff here is incompetent and I do not appreciate being lied to or given crap excuses when I've spent a lot of money on glasses and am about to on contacts. I'd never go to this location- go to the Macy's one in the same mall. read more

Don't waist your MONEY or TIME, I went to get some glass's. Oh yes they were so nice and took my MONEY. I had to call several times to check if my glass's were in, almost 3 weeks for my glass's. The worst part is, I went to pick up my glass's and the Lens Crafters associate gave me my glass's and walked away. I told her I need to have them adjusted, she told me that's the way there suppose to fit. My glasses that I purchased with LensCrafters was accidentally stepped on and the glasses popped out and the nose pieces were all out of sort. I never write reviews online but wow was this place terrible. I came in and the first thing I was greeted by was an EXTREMELY SICK employee at the front desk. Coughing and sneezing and all sorts. I was told to wait which, albeit, was not a terrible wait, until I hear aggressive yelling from the back from which I can only assume was Dr. Fisher yelling at an employee. I will not stand for an employer that is forcing employees to work while they are sick and is verbally abusing others. Talk about an extremely uncomfortable situation. I am not going to recommend this place and I was excited to go, but after being gone two weeks I picked my dog up from the sitter and my dog was deathly dehydrated so badly that he may now have kidney issues and the bill was $620 so iMessage lens crafters at the last minute and told them I could not show up. and they did tell me prior that they will charge you a $40 fee for not showing up to your appointment but I believe that my dogs health and the fact that he lost 17 pounds in two weeks due to miss care should make up for this $40 fee and not only did I show a picture of my dog to the person at LensCrafters but Sent them a photo of the $620 that just came out of our bill money to pay to keep my dog alive and the woman replied well how are you going to pay this $40 and I said I'll take my business elsewhere and replied how are you paying this $40 and I am not going to that is ridiculous. I question this woman but what if something or somebody had an auto accident on their way to their facility, would they charge them $40 even though that person was in an accident on the way to get there I exam taken care of? read more

Skip this place. I have been with Lenscrafters for almost seven years. I'd been traveling and ran out of contacts. I tried to order a new box of my normal one day lenses and get a few trial lenses until the new box was to arrive in the mail in 5 days. The office staff said they could only give out two lenses. So for one day. Because they must be thrown out each day. Any good eye doctor will tell you that. So basically they want me to get an eye infection or be blind because they are stingy. Then they said if I make a donation they will get me some. What?! I've never heard of such a thing. No other LC does this. So skip the contact nazis and head to the location at Tyrone square mall. read more

I previously had a great experience at LensCrafters so I scheduled an appointment for a new eye exam there when I learned that it is actually a separate office from the retail store. I scheduled my appointment online which was super convenient, and received a call the next day to confirm. My initial appointment was scheduled in November, and the appointment itself went great. It was a normal appointment for an exam for both eye glasses and contacts. The front desk ladies were friendly, and got me checked in and back to the doctor timely. My experience with the exam was great as I mentioned, however my concerns are when it came to my contact prescription. I brought in the contacts I prefer because in previous experiences with other brands my eyes just got super irritated and this is the brand that worked best for me that I have been wearing consistently for the last 3 years. With the new exam I found I needed a stronger script which normally tends to happen over time, but the issue came when they did not have the brand I contacts I wanted. This was fine at the time, and they gave me other brand samples for the time being, and ordered samples of the brand that I requested. I honestly do not know what the process is here, but in the past I have never had to wait so long for the doctor to finalize my contact prescription. It literally took over a month to get me samples of the brand I requested, and for them to finally issue me my prescription. I felt like they were pushing so hard for me to switch brands when I clearly shared I have a preferred brand and type because this is the most comfortable I have come across over the years. Over the month and a half I waited they provided me so many box samples of two other brands to use. I was told I would receive a call once it came in, but after so many weeks I finally reached out to see what the status was. The first couple of times, it still was not in which was fine because honestly I just wanted my prescription because I order a year supply online. Fast forward to today, I finally received the sample of the contact brand I requested today and the doctor finalized my contact prescription. I again, have never experienced such a long process for a contact prescription so I have no idea if this is their policy, but it was somewhat inconvenient for having to constantly follow up, and then having to schedule another appointment to get the contacts "fitted". read more

I have been going to see Dr. Fisher for a while now. He has always impressed me with his knowledge. After curiously asking his staff about some of the degrees & certificates on the wall there..... his front office staff told me he has previously traveled all over volunteering his time with Volunteers for Optometric Services to Humanity and he completed a residency in ocular disease after he graduated from Optometry school. It didn't surprise me. This guy is smart, caring and knowledgeable. He is so humble though too ! Just a great doctor ! I can't imagine trusting my valuable sight to anyone else. Bottom line is ... HE CARES A LOT about his patients ! You can genuinely tell he loves what he does and that he does what he does because he loves people !! read more

This is the best LensCrafters in the tampa Bay Area. The customer service is here exceptional. I would not go to any other place to get my frames and lenses other than this location. I was treated so well, the staff knowledge and dedication in helping you pick the right frame is fantastic. I had bought a pair of sunglasses and then realized I needed a major prescription change, they still honored my 30 day policy even after it expired after a few days. They made my day!
