I picked up my new glasses, which were supposed to have the same prescription as my old ones. I noticed something was off when driving home but thought it might have been from the drops they used. As the day went on, I thought I better call to ask if they could hold my old glasses instead of shipping them back, given that there was an issue with the new pair. I left them due to warranty rules. The next morning, I called again and left another message. Hours later, someone returned my call and confirmed they still had my old glasses. When I arrived at the office, I took both pairs outside and noticed a black mark on the lens of the new glasses. I believe the person assisting me was Brieanne. After a frustrating exchange where she insisted she didn't see the mark, she suggested that the issue might be with my eyes needing a check-up. I was extremely upset at this point, especially since I could see clearly with my old glasses but not with the new ones. It was clear to me that the problem wasn't my prescription. Feeling disrespected and dismissed, I ended up leaving with my old glasses. Despite my appreciation for Dr. Salta, I can't overlook how poorly I was treated during this experience. Also, every time I've ever called this office, they've never answered their phone. I will find a new doctor's office due to how badly I was treated. read more

Overpriced for inferior exams and glasses. I was charged for lenses that my insurance covers and didn't realize it until I went to another eyeglass company for my exam this year. My glasses at Visionworks, non designer frames, arm came off of the glasses a few months after purchase, were almost $400. Designer frames, same lenses cost a total of $55 at another company. read more

Some of the staff is very rude and condescending. Hanna in particular. She measured my PD incorrectly on the first pair. They were way off. When I returned, they re-checked and remeasured and ordered another pair. When I arrived to pick them up, Hanna was the associate again. I asked that the They be adjusted as I have a very low, to non-existent bridge plus a lower ear on one side. Her response was 'they look pretty good'. When insisted that she at least adjust for the lower ear causing glasses to fit crooked, she grabbed them and began twisting the entire pair instead of using heat on the arm to bend it and only it down. When I asked, she seemed annoyed and barked 'this is how we do it'. Now I have had glasses for many years and that is not how most do it. The attitude and complete lack of respect and customer service - the attitude of 'I know everything, this is what I do' is atrocious. I left upset and will never return. These people, especially Hanna are focused on being argumentative instead of customer service. read more

We've been using my eye doctor since they were Innovision, and been very happy with the staff and the doctors that we've seen. We've never had a long wait time and they've always been very patient while we've picked out new glasses. I've always been treated with kindness and had my phone calls returned promptly when I needed to re-order contact lenses or get glasses or lenses replaced. I went for an eye exam last year. The visit went well. This is the reason that I gave 3 stars. This year I received an email every week reminding me to schedule an appointment and how important it was. I scheduled the appointment. I received a call 2 weeks before my appointment saying they need my information and showed no record of a visit. I explained that they had emailed me so there is a record and I was there and had purchased contacts and glasses. The assistant said she would check the records again. Well coming up to my appointment I received so many text messages reminding me like almost everyday. I had to reschedule because I had scheduled 3 appointments the same day and couldn't make it on time so I rescheduled and confirmed. I received a call saying they had a cancellation and asked me to come in I explained that I had a specific date that I rescheduled for and I had to work around a tight schedule. Well they continued to remind me about my appointment. texting and calling. I confirmed my appointment and I received confirmation that the look forward to seeing me. On the day of my appointment I arrived 20 mins early. I walked in they asked for my name and told me I had to reschedule because I didn't confirm the appointment. I was so upset that I didn't even argue. I had the confirmation in my phone. There was no one else in the office and I truly feel as though they didn't want to work. I said I didn't want to reschedule and left. I will never go there again. read more

December 14, 2020 Dear Ms. Sue Downes, (Ms. Downes is the founder and CEO of My Eye Doctor) As your survey does not provide an opportunity to explain the reasons for the excoriative ratings I gave your practice.....here they are. I first visited your practice located at 1450 66th St. No., St. Petersburg, Fl. in late 2019. Dr Salta was professional, and knowledgeable. At the conclusion of my exam, I requested a referral to a retinal specialist for the following reasons: 1. I'm a 20 year insulin dependent type II diabetic. 2. In 2010 (approximate), I underwent corrective laser procedures on both retinas. 3. I'd been examined by a retinal specialist the prior two years. 4. My insurer, Care Plus, recommends and covers yearly retinal examinations for all diabetics such as myself per the recommendation of The American Diabetes Association. 5. I underwent cataract surgery in 2015. Despite all of the above factors, Dr. Salta refused to provide a referral.....stating his examination revealed no indication of any retinal abnormalities requiring intervention. After a months long conflict over which opthamologist I could see.....at that point I was too worn out to contest his statement, and moved on. I purchased a pair of single vision sunglasses, which were fully covered by my insurance.....and I continue wearing to this day. 2020 In February, I went in to order a pair of progressive Transitions or equal glasses under my $400 at the time benefit for the new year. I was flabbergasted by a $765 (or thereabouts) quote......and quickly left. The first other in network provider I visited, quoted approximately $438 for identical lenses with a comparable frame. The second was more than happy to provide the complete pair for less than my $400 benefit.....which I also continue wearing to this day. I did not receive a yearly exam reminder, but nonetheless scheduled one for December 5. The convenience of the location, and a Saturday appointment were appreciated. Unfortunately......everything went south from that point forward. 1. Upon entering and going through the Covid protocols, I asked the young woman if I could please get a replacement sample bottle of lens cleaner as was provided when I purchased the sunglasses.....and a lens cloth. "No. They're (the lens cleaning bottles) in short supply as it's the end of the year,.....and you only get one with the purchase of glasses". "But I purchased these (sunglasses) here on my last visit". "You can bring your bottle in, and we'll refill it for you". No mention of the requested lens cloth. How magnanimous. Maybe $0.50 worth of product on a bad day, (if those two items cost you more than that in total.....you should consider replacing your purchasing director)......from your practice that no doubt made out quite well on my sunglasses.....and attempted to extort an outrageous price two months later for my progressives.....that's nauseating at best. And it certainly left an extremely unpleasant taste in my mouth. By the way.....a couple of days later, approaching the register at a Dollar Tree.....where everything is actually $1.00.....what should magically appear but 8.25 oz. bottles of lens cleaner. I purchased two.....one for home, and one for the car. A veritable lifetime supply for two bucks........no outrageously overpriced prescription eyeglass purchase necessary. 2. But wait! There's more...... When the very pleasant tech ushered me into the preliminary exam room.....I demurred.....stating: "Before we begin.....I must know definitively if Dr. Salta will provide me with a referral to a retinal specialist. If yes, we're good to go. If there's any question of that.....I want a definitive answer before we proceed. If in fact there is no guarantee of that referral, I will have to go elsewhere for my exam." She assured me that it would not be an issue...so we proceeded. 3. Turns out......it was an issue...a big one. Once again, as he had done the previous year.....Dr. Salta stated his exam revealed no retinal abnormalities that would require any interventional procedures. When I reiterated my request....his offhanded solution was to notify my PCP (what qualifications could they possibly have to make such a determination?) that while he didn't feel such a referral was necessarily warranted...he had no objection if they chose to make one themselves. Thank you so very much for your support Dr., Salta. I wouldn't want you to put yourself out on my behalf. Is he mistaken? In all likelihood no. That's not the point. Retinal specialists have an array of infinitely more elaborate and sophisticated examination equipment.....and I would imagine the education that goes with their title. If Dr. Salta was so qualified, I would imagine he would be practicing as such a specialist, rather than as an optometrist. Area residents have a right to know. Scott Rubin read more

I went for my yearly check up a couple of years ago and ordered prescription sunglasses. Due to the virus, there offices have been closed until further notice. I wasn't sure when I would be able to get my prescription glasses. The other day a box was delivered to my house and it was my prescription sunglasses. I was so surprised and happy to have received them. I thought that was very thoughtful for Dr. Salta's staff to do this. Wanted to share the nice effort the staff takes for their clients. read more

This office really deserves no stars at all. Steer clear of this horrible Eye Dr. office as the front office staff is truly non-customer service forward. They also do not track any notes for your file and immediately turn around and place the blame on you for they're inadequacies. I will never ever return to this office and refuse to ever refer this place in a positive light. I have yet to have my frames refunded due to the wrong selection they had "guessed" at.
