Update 4/26: After filing out the online form to submit a grievance someone contacted me. It was someone very important. He listened to me, apologized for what my wife and I experienced and discussed the necessary steps he took and was taking to ensure this would not happen to anyone else moving forward. I won't provide full details of our conversation. However, I will say that I 100/ felt confirmed and validated. He informed me that if we wanted to go back to the same location and be provided with a better in-store experience with an appointment, we could meet with the store accommodated with a great conversation was perfect. We both were throughly pleased with our entire 2nd experience. She was amazing. So pleased that my wife did not choose the Moncler's that she originally liked, but a totally diffrent pair wayyyy out of her comfort zone. That was because of how great the store manager made her feel throughout the process. Thank you Lenscrafters for making things right with us by taking full accountability of the wrong that was done to us. We truly appreciate feeling valued for our feelings. Much empathy and compassion was shown and felt from that phone call to today's personalized. 4/12: My wife and I just came from here so that she could possibly buy glasses. She walked around a bit and decided that she wanted to price some Moncler glasses with her insurance. What I thought was going to be a great purchase actually turned out to be a very racist and discriminatory situation. We were handled by a rude sales representative. We asked for pricing on the Moncler, informed him of our insurance and he should have went and gave us just that which was the pricing. She really loved how she looked in the color and frame. Happy wife, happy life. However, he did not give the pricing, he procrastinated by looking up colors when he knew that she wanted the color that she tried on. She continued to look around. He did not immediately give us a pricing. When she found another pair she liked, they were Persol's. He pushed her more towards that pair by stating he liked her more in them than the Moncler. He then tells us that the Moncler's were $200 more than the Persol's. Which we already knew that because the Persol's were $379 and the Moncler's were $579. He still had not priced the Moncler's as originally asked. I told him okay and that he could price both, but first the Moncler's as we asked already. He then prices the Persol's first, which he was not asked to do. He begans to run down the cost to us and was about to tell us what he was going to do for us to help decrease the cost. I'm so confused because this is not at all what we asked for. He is ignoring our request. I stopped him and I told him that we did not ask him to do anything extra for us except to price the Moncler's as well. He then tells me once again that they will be $200 more in cost, but he will price them. He treated us like he was doing is a favor at this point. I then let him know that he was being very disrespectful and discriminatory by insinuating that we could not afford the Moncler's. I told him that we wanted the same service that the woman, who was YT, sitting next to us received from him and another sales representative gave. He provide her with consideration and no undermining. Whatever she asked for, he was very nice and willing to over compensate for!! All of a sudden, he folds his hands, while I'm talking, and begins yes ma'am'ing me. Now he wants to be accomodating!!! I told him when he finished, providing the pricing, I wanted to see his manager. He began talking and I decided not to let him finish. I asked for the manager. He gets the Optician. No manager was on site, I explained to him what transpired. I then realized no one should have to prove that they have the damn right to be in a store and to be treated with respect!!! He apologized and stated he was close to the manager and will tell her everything. I said that is not good enough. That sales representative is racist, discriminatory and demeaning. This was THE worst time we have ever had when trying to purchase eyeglasses. Lenscrafters if these are the type of people you hire, we will never purchase or reccomend anyone to your store!!!! read more

I noticed this LensCrafter store and decided to inquire the cost for new glasses... We were right away greeted with a smile from the lady that helped us - Izel. I hope spelled her name correctly. She was very professional, helpful, and patient with me in selecting the different options as well as the cost. We were press for time and had to leave. I took a pair of sunglasses in to get the lenses replaced. After dropping them off, I discovered that I could pay a fraction of the cost at another store, but I ended up having to wait 10 days for them to be ready and initiate the return process. The return itself was fine, but I noticed after leaving the store that my sunglasses had cracked during the lens replacement process. I was warned that there was a small chance of this happening, but what made me upset was that the crack is pretty visible. In the process of taking out the lenses during the return, the associate would have easily felt/ seen it. I was upset about them not letting me know about the issue beforehand. I got a full refund, but am now out a pair of glasses as there's nothing they can do. Do yourself a favor and go to any other place. read more

LensCrafters is not in network for VSP and is super shady, which we didn't realize when we walked in the door. They have a fun sales technique where when you ask them to check insurance it "takes some time" for it to appear. Just so everyone knows, not it doesn't. It's immediate. They do this so you're forced to wander about the showroom and see their wares. The 30% off they tout comes absolutely nowhere near your vision coverage for VSP, which will usually cover $200-$300 and not the $70 or so I was quoted. Their 30% off "deal" means you're still paying at least 40% over what you would with an in-network provider, the fact that they tell you it's comparable with a straight face is laughable. What LensCrafters also excitingly did as I found out when I went to someone else several days later, was not release the insurance claim they processed to "check insurance". Because even though I clearly stated, "we're going somewhere else" the assistant did not clear it out. Thanks so much LensCrafters, thanks so much. read more

Idk man, I only wanted an eye exam but they failed to tell us that an added test to see behind our cornea was not covered, however made us pay for it. I mean don't get me wrong, we got our eye exam but didn't think to pay more than our coverages allowed. We only wanted a new and updated prescription which was the goal. This is all tricky, I don't understand it much - but low key felt like I was being lured into paying more than what I needed to pay. Smh. The service was good with a few concerns... employees we're all very pleasant and informative. However, I'd like to point out that a few of the employees gossip about customers aloud in the middle of the store. I get it... it's a cool pastime, but when you have me trying to shop around ... for a potential purchase? It def' led me to feeling discouraged. Wouldn't wanna do business within that environment. The doctor (Whitney Ng) was excellent. Very patient and thorough and offered various options for eyeglasses and contacts. I was surprised that the medical assistant started with the retinal imaging for the kids without asking parents for consent since it was an additional copay. Overall, the assistant are very helpful in choosing frames etc. but seem to push the expensive options, though one can always decline them. Also, there were quite a few mistakes made in the billing as well as printing out prescription so pay careful attention to what you are being billed for as well as what prescription are being printed for you. read more

so I came down here to get an eye exam because I haven't been checking frequent enough (apparently we're supposed to go annually lol). Booking an appointment was easy enough, just call ahead and get scheduled a few days later. upon my arrival I approached the front desk, which ironically is more towards the back lol, where i was greeted by a woman. after letting her know i was there for an eye exam, she said she would check me in HOWEVER her male coworker interjected and said he'd do it as he has it open. honestly i was taken aback because it was so abrupt and lol was that misogyny? -1 star for that weird behavior i get told to go to the exam waiting room and am greeted by another woman. she takes my copay and then does my pre-exam. she's knowledgeable and chill and everything goes by pretty quickly. after the pre exam i wait a few minutes then the actual doctor comes. idk about you but whenever i go to a lenscrafters or i guess any doctor i just expect to spend the next half hour with some crusty old dude to discuss my medical health. However, i was pleasantly surprised (not in a creepy way) to find out that the doctor working today was Dr. Trinh; a young, woman of color, who was knowledgeable of her craft and professional and personable as she is pretty! LETS GO ICON!!! we love to see bad bitches in STEM!!! anyways, the actual exam happens, we update my prescription, and we discuss options for the future of my visual heath. This LensCrafters runs a scam where they sell you protection plans on new glasses without informing you. My girlfriend caught it later and after calling was told to bring her receipt in to get it removed. She did bring it in but was then told it could not be removed because the manager Sharon wasn't in. When we later spoke to Sharon by phone she said we needed to bring it in when she was working. Will be informing Macy's they're allowing LensCrafters to employ criminals to run this scam on their customers. read more

They refused to honor a discount code I was awarded because I refused to go with they realized they were not going to make enough money from me. Everything was going swell until I just stated what I wanted and then suddenly made up a weird rule out of their a**** to prevent me from using the discount. The people here are rude, arrogant and very disrespectful and condescending. Ordered replacement lenses as mine were damaged. The replacements had a horrible reflection on the inside of the lenses. It was like looking into a mirror. The employees stated that they order the exact lenses as before. The only thing is my previous lenses had no reflection of any kind. Then they proceeded to blame me and that there must be something wrong with my eyes. I asked them to look thru my lenses to see what I was describing but they refused. Any review that's lower than 4 stars is a lie. The staff here are all sweethearts. Amy helped me pick up my glasses and she made sure I walked out happy and fitted. They got me my glasses in the promised time frame and they feel great. When I initially walked in I was cautious about everything, but when I expressed to the staff I wasn't in love with the selection they pulled out tons of more pickings, they got me the most cute glasses that I am so proud and excited to wear, the doctor is fantastic (coming from an ex optician). Gave me honest opinions and I feel like I had my best interest in mind. Thanks y'all will be coming back soon. read more

Horrible customer service and they got my prescription way wrong. I had an exam and purchased sunglasses with prescription lenses (about $500). I was really surprised when doctor gave me my new prescription because it was one whole point up from my last one. Not only that, it was much stronger in my right eye. When I picked up my new sunglasses, it was a couple of days before going out of the country for two and a half months. I tried them and immediately they were making me dizzy. I told the sales person that the glasses were making me dizzy and that I didn't think they were right. She assured me that it was correct and even went to check. After that she said that its always like that because I need to get used to the new prescription. So I took their word, and went on my trip. During the trip, I was getting strong migraines behind my right eye. I even scheduled an MRI to make sure nothing is seriously wrong. I stopped wearing the glasses and my migraines stopped. In the meantime, my primary doctor sent me to see an opthomologist because of my right eye migraines and amongst other tests, he measured my prescription and it was much lower then what I got at Lens Crafters. So I called Lens Crafters and they told me I am out of luck because its been longer than one month. There were no apologies issued and nothing could be done. How horrible? They measured my prescription way off, so much that I suffered through constant migraines to not take any accountability. Stay away from another corporate asshole!!! Go to your locally owned optometrist/opthomologist instead. read more

Horrible customer service! They called my wife twice to verify her insurance and she was told she's good to go. When she had her eye check done and was time for her to purchase her eyeglasses/contact lenses, she was told they need to verify her insurance again. She waited for more than 30 mins then she was told their computer wasn't working and asked her to wait more. She decided to leave and called them back with insurance Rep on the other line confirmed that she has coverage for eyeglasses or contact lenses. The lady at this place said she can process the contact lenses order and told the insurance Rep it's good to go. When insurance Rep hung up, the lady said their computer "again" is not working and promised my wife she will call her back. Days and weeks passed, no call back! Don't waste your time! Both my wife and I had our eye exams scheduled on a Sat at 2 and 2:40. It was very clear that I wanted to get both glasses and contact prescriptions. I went thru the process with Dr. Bayek who was great. I am double covered on insurance and was told they only can use one. Fine I paid a $49 Copay for the exam and Contact fitting and then I paid another $150 or so for glasses to be ordered. They had to order trials for my contact prescription. The next day Sunday I get a call stating that I hadn't been charged for the contact fitting and it would be another $68???? My wife had an entire conversation with the lady that we were working with about this exact topic and we were told that our insurance covered it 100%. For them to call me the next day and threaten stating that they will not order the contact trial or give me my prescription if this was not paid is RIDICULOUS!! Is this what LensCrafters does, Scheme people? What a ripoff I will NEVER do business at a LensCrafters or affiliate again. read more

I picked up two pairs of glasses today. As I walked in and said I was there to pick up a ready pair and to ask about when the second one would be ready the two sales associates sitting at their desks looked me up and down and with a very condescending tone inquired if I was truly there to pick up my glasses. Unacceptable, no matter how one looks -- and I actually looked nice and put together. Then, as one of them brought both of my pairs ( I actually got a text that the second pair was ready for pick up an hour after the pick up), tried them on, they were fine, and didn't need any adjustments. I asked wether or not I will get a cleaning solution with them, and the lady said "we never give complimentary cleaning solutions!" My daughter got a glasses from her optometrist - she got a small bottle, my husband 20 years ago always would get solutions with his new pairs! At LensCrafters after spending $1200 they don't give a complimentary bottle, but do give plenty of attitude?! What an unpleasant experience! They do have a big selection. The prices are high since the selection is upscale, but service is just horrendous. Will no recommend and not go back. Will take my money elsewhere next time. read more
