Wow I am so glad I stumbled upon Dr. Liem. I texted their office for a last minute appointment and was able to get in right away. They're located inside Sam's Club (you don't need a membership to enter, just tell them you're there for an eye exam). They take walk-ins as well. Dr. Liem made me feel very comfortable, was thorough, and very nice. He also provided me with various pairs of contact lens samples and my glass prescription for no additional cost than the overall exam fee (about $125 without insurance). I've been to many optometrists and he is definitely my favorite and I will continue to come here for future needs. 10/10 recommend! read more

My eyes were getting tired looking at my computer screen and I knew that I needed to renew my prescription. I first wanted to check out America's Best Contacts and Eyeglasses since they advertised only $65.00 for glasses and an exam. However, when I searched on line, you have to "join" their club for an annual fee and that fee is $99.00. Uh, no. My VSP vision insurance covered Dr. Liem's exam, but I wanted contacts and a photo of my retina and some other tests, so I paid $90.00 for everything. I wasn't rushed and got a good starter kit for my contacts and some disposables to try out for 30 days. If I need frames and lenses or just to update my current lenses, the optical department gets the Sams Club discount, so that's a good bargain. One note though, you can't pay for your visit with your Sams Club member card since Dr. Liem isn't affiliated with Sams Club so keep that in mind. But for a chill vision check and a cool guy (he's not one of those "I'm so great and better than you doctors" (believe me, I've met plenty)), try Dr. Liem. Dr. Liem is the best eye doctor ever! I have been going here for three years and he has never failed to let me down. I come in for a contact lens exam and he provides you with some trial lenses the day of your exam so you don't have to worry about purchasing them right away. The contact lens exam includes both prescriptions for glasses and contacts. He has a variety of of different contact samples you can try. From daily wear to monthly disposables. He is a very nice doctor and he explains things thoroughly. The eye exams usually run from 15-20min top for each patient. Walk-ins are also always welcome! BEST OPTOMETRIST, EVER!!! Dr. Liem is patient, thorough, and actively listens. A couple times he'll give me samples of different eye drops (i have severe dry eyes) with no hesitation. When I went for my annual check-up sheet my maternity leave was over, my insurance forgot to reactivate me. By this time we had built a repor and he faithfully trusted in me. He just charged for what would've been my co-pay. Thankfully, I was able to get it reactivated before i left but that generous and kind gesture is who he is. What a great experience! I called on a Saturday hoping for a same day appointment, and was very relieved to hear that they were not only able to accommodate me, but also my husband! The office was very welcoming, and the wait time was extremely short. Dr. Liem is exactly what you're looking for in a doctor. Very positive attitude, very thorough, and I really appreciated the time he took in helping me switch my contact lens brand. He also supplied me with a whole lot of samples, and told me I was welcome to walk back in at anytime if I needed to make a change on the brands! I've been to 3 optometrist in the last 2 years because they all sucked. Then today, I found Dr. Liem! He explained EVERYTHING and made sure that I was comfortable with my contacts. He explained what astigmatism is using pictures and explained how my contacts help me reduce my astigmatism and had me try a couple of pairs of contacts. He's also really nice and easy to talk to. I think I finally found my permanent optometrist. He's a little far from my house, but definitely worth the drive. read more

I lost a contact in my eye and couldn't find it. I remember a friend had recommended Dr. Liem who had opened up shop in a Sam's club. I walked into his mini office (without membership) and filled out some forms. After he finished up with another patient he put my eyes through two automated tests and measured my current eyeglass prescription. Then, he sat me down in the chair with the cool optometry steering wheel. He first looked up, down, inside, and out for a rouge contact. He even flipped my eyelid twice (gross!!) to make sure my eye was free balling. Fortunately, my eye came clean. He then compared my previous prescription with the Opto steering wheel and a few diopters up and down. He wrote two prescriptions and then hooked me up with some solution. He didn't pressure me to buy pricey frames and opted me to go anywhere for frames. Honesty and service. I give two eye balls up! read more

He's been my go to for contacts and glasses prescriptions for at least 7 years. I recommend him whenever asked who I go to. My daughter goes to him now too. He is conveniently located in Sam's club la habra. He is not there everyday, as he splits his time at his other location. Sorry, I don't know where his other location is. I have been coming to Dr Liem for a good couple of years now. I go in for general exam and contact lens exam as well. I absolutely love coming here. The customer service here is excellent. The receptionist is very attentive and nice, like customer service should be. I always make an appointment to get my exams so I don't have to wait. I always arrive early to all my appointments (that's just a personal preference, nothing to do with the doctor) and they take care of me promptly. The doctor is excellent. He shows he really cares about his patients. He is to the point and perceptive. He is also very generous. He gives me samples to try for my contact lenses. I decided to make an appointment here since I am a Sam's Club member. I did not look up any reviews prior to my appointment. Five stars is definitely warranted here! Dr. Liem and his staff are courteous, considerate and just very pleasant to work with. Everything is geared towards safety, with everything being sanitized before and after my appointment. I will definitely be back and refer people to him. They referred me to their optical department and set up an appointment for me immediately after my exam to pick out my glasses. I have to say that Aaron in the optical department was great to work with. He showed me many styles of frames and gave me my pricing options as a regular member or an upgraded plus member to take advantage of a discount being offered. Such a positive experience in a very uncertain time in our lives! As a side note, you do not have to be a Sam's Club member to have the eye exam or to use the optical department. read more

I had eye check up at there about a year ago and got a rx glasses from sam's. Two months Prior to this visit I got prescription for contact lenses from other doctor and Dr. Liem said my eyes are same. But somehow every time I wear that glasses i got headaches. So i didn't really wear that glasses but i took it with me to new annual eye check up at other eye doctor. I had my first exam with Dr. David Liem last week at Sam's club. By far the best eye exams I have had in a while. He was very personable and professional. He was also very knowledgeable, answered all of the questions I had and didnt rush me through the exam. It was a fast but thorough exam. I left with a prescription for glasses and contacts. I also got my eyes dilated which checks the health of the eye and sample contact leneses all for under 90 bucks. The office was neat and clean. I will definitely be back next year. read more

Anyways, I had bad rash in my eye after a round and saw that there was an optometrist office now. What's good is his prices are cheaper than where I normally go even with my vision plan. Plus, he takes insurance. Dr. Liem was professional, and got me squared away. I asked him some questions and I guess he doesn't work for Sam's club. What's good about that is that you don't feel like he is selling you to buy stuff like the optometrists I go to in Garden Grove. I finally had enough money to get a contacts exam. I pick up one of his business cards at the Biola University health center and I decided to get my exam from Dr. Liem. He was thorough and gave me a bunch of sample contacts to take home. I don't need to buy new contacts for at least a year so he saved me a couple hundred dollars.
