I've been converted to the Leon ways...not sure how healthy their food is but the halloumi wrap is so damn tasty it's hard to walk past and not go in. And if you haven't tried their baked fries then do it. I'm told the chorizo salad is really tasty too so it's next on my list to try. I normally try to avoid chains, but Leon is one of them that I will tolerate. Their food is reasonably good quality and fairly healthy. I'm especially a fan of their breakfasts - poached egg cups and breakfast muffins that aren't too greasy. We found this place on yelp. The restaurant has interesting concept. Overall, the food is pretty decent. The price is fine (not overly priced), and the portion is quite large. I would say this restaurant is kind of a fusion restaurant. It is not authentic. So if you want to have a quick meal and not too expensive with a little bit of the Mediterranean inspired taste, this place would be a nice place to try out. The selection is not extensive but good for health conscious patrons. Organic ingredients were used in several dish. We got the Persian Chicken and the Moroccan meatball. Both of them are very flavorful. We also got the hummus side dish (not traditional) but has good flavor. The flat bread was served hot but it did not come with the hummus. So you have to purchase it separately. It was pretty good. To end the meal, the hot chocolate brownie and organic vanilla ice cream was ordered. The chocolate brownie was good but it wasn't something I would wowed about. Plus, it was a little bit on the expensive side as well. So, unless you really love brownie, I wouldn't recommend having it. Just didn't feel like it was worth it, unless they lower the price. I always care about the service because... even if the food is really good, bad service can ruin the whole meal. The manager (or I think she is) was very nice. She was very attentive and accommodating. The waitresses were overall nice too. We originally had one waitress who took the order but for some reasons, another one came and helped us later instead. Overall, the waitresses were nice but I wasn't sure whether they were attentive. We asked for certain things but I think she forgot about it and we had to ask again. The Wifi in this place is pretty good so it's a plus as well. I would be a fun place if you go with a big group of people. They had a big table in the middle as well. They also serve alcoholic beverage. So some people also come for drinks. I would give this place a 3.5 but yelp doesn't allow that. So I round it up to a 4 because this place doesn't deserve a 3. So I think you should give it a try. Not an upscale restaurant but a pretty comfy place to go and hang out. :) read more

What can I say about Leon? It has a sentimental place in my heart. It seems to be the only place in all of London where I can find consistent, free wi-fi. In addition, it offers a great selection of teas and coffees. I find myself turned off by most of the food options, as the menu is sparse and after several visits you are likely to have overdosed on every dish. The Best fast food in London. And it's healthy. And it's cheap. I even like the funky decor. I always order the same thing, cous cous with mackrel. It is awesome, so much so that I have cravings for it. I often stop here on the way home from my studio. If you still have room after the mackrel, the have a fab chocolate torte. read more

When ever I am spending a day with my friends in the neighborhood and they want to go wandering around Spitalfields marker, my regular answer is that I will be waiting at Leon meanwhile.. I adore this nice restaurant and this friendly venue is my favorite. I also find that the idea of organic fast food is worth supporting, especially with these prices. My favorites from the menu are the chickpea soup or for the veggie super food salad, that really is the most greenest detox miracle existing. Didn't realise this was from a chain restaurant, didn't realise I am not supposed to like it. Thought the decor was rather 1950's chirpy, and I needed to go somewhere warm while the market warmed up. Feeling like I was teetering on the verge of a cold, I went for a ginger steeper, which turns out to be a cup of hot water with bits of ginger floating around. Rather pleasant, I have to say, over the average ginger teabag, so made a nice change from the normal tea and coffee offerings for the morning. read more

Was back here again last night, didn't realise they did table service in the evening which is nice. This time I got the Leon Gobi which was delicious vegetables in a coconut cream curry sauce with wild rice and slaw. For desert I tried the lemon cheesecake but i found it to be really bland. Yes, definitely a fan of Leon inside of Spitalfields Market. What won me over? The real lemonade! This is a quant little restaurant, dimly with good ambience. The perfect place for a meet up to have a chat with friends or a lovely dinner with your honey. The food is great and you really can't beat the prices! Loved Leon, everything tastes fresh, healthy and like it's doing you good even the banana split piled high with whipped cream and salted caramel sauce! Can't fault a single one of the numerous dishes we had even though the manager was horrified by our overordering. I think we gave the menu a pretty good workout! My faves are too many to mention but particular shout outs for the sweet potato falafel, meatballs and chilli con carne. And of course the aforementioned banana split! read more

This place dishes up very tasty and wholesome food, I've been here about three times and mostly go for the Leon Gobi (sweet potato, cauliflower, sultanas and coconut milk amongst other stuff), mostly. Service is very quick, the pecan pie and ice-cream is delicious, the prices are surprisingly cheap, the decor is interesting and imaginative. Leons are rapidly popping up all over the shop and that can only be a good thing. Where else can you get affordable free-range chicken, wholemeal rice and mayonnaise-free coleslaw to take out? The idea is that you can eat well and still get fast food, so the emphasis is on fresh, organic, local and nutritious and it tastes really good too. I'd reccomend the superfood salad and the sweet potato falafel wrap. Mmmmmm and to drink you don't get a better thirst beater than a lemon mint and ginger 'quencher'. The atmosphere is generally upbeat but somehow really cosy, although I went in on a Saturday and it was clear the staff were having trouble keeping up with the fast food pace - there were a load of cardboard boxes and cups stacked up and paper all over the floor. It's becoming a favourite with yummy mummies so there were plenty of babies in the (homely, wooden) highchairs, throwing salsa verde across the restaurant and rubbing chocolate brownies into the (homely, colourful) toys and books. So its best to go in during the week when the market and accompanying carnage isn't on. It's a shame the whole menu isn't organic and local, but maybe that's not compatible with the pretty reasonable prices. The only real down side is that i noticed when you ask for a smoothie or juice, they pour it for you ready-made out of a plastic cup and then chuck that cup away - seems a bit wasteful and not in keeping with the caring ethos they purport to hold dear. It's comfortable, it's airy, the staff are friendly, but as much as they've tried witht he quirky decoratons and maps of London on the walls, they can't quite shake off the slight Starbucks-esque aura that comes with the giant window-walls looking out onto Spitalfields market. Still, cheaper than it looks, and I am cruising on their free wifi as I type, so not too bad. Although they do seem to have the loudest air-conditioning unit in the world read more

I like this place. The owners actually seem to care about, appreciate and act upon feedback. Their menu is quite different from other places and they have some great fresh juices. I'm not sure the boxes they serve food in do the food any justice and what is it about the table tennis playing in the middle of where people are eating? You are likely to get a table tennis ball in your food or eye. If it wasn't for the table tennis table and the way the food is served I'd give five stars. I think I'd love this place if they served the food on proper plates with proper cutlery. Very happy to see the table tennis table has gone and for this reason I ate here again and they now get an extra star., giving them four stars :-) People playing table tennis again so colleagues and I went somewhere else yesterday. Back to 3 stars. Also disappointed that they took away the best juices and replaced them with rather mundane ones. read more

Although this branch has seating it never seems that inviting so I tend to get take-away. The food is as you expect, wholesome, nutritious but still tastes good, and the I like the take-away boxes. The staff are friendly and efficient, meaning you never have to wait long in the queue. Although I'm a fan of Leon as a concept (healthy fast food), with the choice of other fantastic food stalls in the close vicinity, it never top of my list to visit when I'm at Spitalfields Market for lunch. read more

I ate the salsa chicken along with blackcurrant thirst quencher, the bill cameupto £8.00 ( give or take abit ). The main meal was good as they are served with unpolished rice with home made coleslaw. A great place for cheap and heathy fast food if you're in hurry...I particularly like the sweet potato humous and berry smoothie. Went to Leon to chill and have a light bite, ordered the hummus & flatbread. Halfway through eating the flatbread, my boyfriend spotted a blue spot. We turned the flatbread around and there were so much moulds on the flatbread. Really? we had HALF of the food already. They were selling spoilt flatbread?! food weren't fresh. The manager said he'll give me refund, free brownies and coffee. I only received free brownies and changed my food. Didnt get refund and coffee. Not gonna visit ANY Leons anymore.
