I stopped by here after my visit to the Tate museum. It's located conveniently right across the street from the Tate when you exit. I absolutely loved the inside of this place- there's two sides, one for a quick sit in with friends or a quick grab and go meal and the other aide has nicer seating, a little more of a good work space and also a little more intimate. I loved all the vegan/vegetarian options they have. Aside from food, they also have coffee as well which is perfect if you need a pick me up after tour meal. We tried the falafel wrap, waffle fries as well as the chicken wrap. The falafel wrap was incredibly unique and had great flavor! Even the the fish wrap was spot on as were the fries. But the truth winner was actually their ginger lemonade- if you love ginger beer and lemonade, well this is the perfect combination to make your taste buds sing read more

Leon is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner but I've only ever been here for lunch because it happens to be equidistant between the offices of my friend and me - but we keep going back because it's got a really nice atmosphere. The place is set up like a posh Mexican labourers' canteen with a good mix of intimate tables for two and big benches for the more communally-minded. It's bright and clean and very relaxed. The service is quick but the food isn't 'fast'. In fact the restaurant sells itself on fresh and simple dishes. I love the Moroccan Meatballs which is part of their hot meals lunch menu and these are all served with rice and their Spring Slaw. They also serve big wraps, salads and soup as well as cakes and tea and coffee. The meatballs will cost you £2.50 and you get a good sized portion for this. If you are out and about around the South Bank I would highly recommend that you try this place. read more

Leon is my regular stop for lunch and definitely a favourite among the people I work with. Located just behind the Tate you can either take out or sit on one of the comfy sofas which makes it handy for meetings or a catch up over lunch. The food is delicious - I often grab a wholesome porridge for breakfast which you can chose with a variety of toppings and they also do a wonderful granola yoghurt. Of course, if you prefer your brekkies a little more fulfilling (or to cure a hangover) they serve an amazing bacon bap which is healthier than most as the meat is grilled. Lunches include superfood salads and a great choice of wraps. They also have a yummy selection of cakes, brownies and muffins which are rather on the large side! I love me some LEON. My favourite dish is the okra sweet potato box. It's labelled small but the potion is definitely enough for a meal. Fantastic seasoning and flavour, and healthy! Win win win! Ok. So in the area and overall regarding prices in London, is not as expensive so I do recommend it as an option. Specially if you're visiting the Tate. Food is not great but not bad either. What I will warn you is the attitude of the staff. Condescending and rude. Not cool in my book. SPECIALLY if I'm tired and hungry. There's this blonde short haired girl... Avoid her. Did a take-away: falafel wrap, plant burger, korean burger, fish wrap and fries. They threw in three types of sauces- something ranchy, spicy and one more. Service was prompt, order was ready in no time (though I did order around 9.00 PM GMT). Burger and Wrap were awesome as was the spicy sauce. They need to work on the baked fries. I'm a fan of Leon - and on a recent visit to London I stopped by for a bite to eat. On a very busy day down by Tate Modern Leon was nice and relaxed and light - a nice place to escape from the crowds. I opted for a fish finger burger with fries and a lemonade. As always the food was super fresh and served up speedily. The fish fingers are probably the best I've tasted, and came on a bun with salad, pickles and a light tartar sauce. The fries, resembling deep-fried hashtags, were also really tasty and came with a selection of dips. I got plenty of food for around £8. read more

With my offices just around the corner I occasionally take my lunch break with a colleague at Leon. We go there cos it's close, the food is healthy and it's quick to order. I seem to go less frequently only because I'm starting to get bored with the same type food. The prices are the greatest either so I tend to stick to the wraps. With only one veg option I tend to stick to chicken - commonly chili. The real highlight for me is the actual space. It's big and airy and I love the decor/style. I'm fascinated with their menu design and random artifacts stacked on shelves. I like the idea of young urban 'warriors' conducting their meetings here while they drink coffee and surf the net. Sucked in by the 40% discount voucher that's been doing the rounds, we popped into Leon for a quick bite before the cinema. I don't know why I've not been in before - I've been missing out! For those that aren't acquainted with the Leon dining style, it's more of a canteen than a restaurant - you order your food at the till and it's brought to your table (similar to Nandos). The menu is based around 'grazing dishes' which are essentially a mediterranean tapas. There's a large range of choice from the delicious sweet potato falafel to moroccan meatballs, grilled halloumi and chicken aioli. In addition, they offer a few wraps and salads to complement the grazing dishes. The food was delicious and varied. The grazing style worked like a dream, making the meal more sociable as we all shared dishes. This branch in particular is right behind the Tate Modern, so is an ideal spot to grab some food if you've been soaking up some art. It's a high-ceilinged room with plenty of bench seating, sofas and individual tables. The branch was quiet, but the service was impeccable - the staff we super friendly and chatty. read more

I stayed next door for a week at LSE Bankside and was hungry after a long day of running around. Leon was one of very few places still open at 6:00 PM after we did a quick run through the Tate Modern across the path. I was surprised at how good and filling it is. It's a great value too- you can get a decent meal for under $5 - the most expensive is around $7. It's served fast either wrapped in foil or in a paper box. We ate here all week due to all of us liking the food, the friendly servers, and the cleanliness. If you like your food swimming in sauce or you're looking for fried food and alcohol to wash it down, this isn't your place. The desserts are pretty good too. We had the brownie and lemon bar- I liked both, teenagers preferred the lemon. If you're a tourist trying to eat healthy and don't feel the need to spend 15-20 pounds on a meal , this is a great place. read more

I've been doing a tour of Leons recent'y thanks to their 40% off dinner offer(be quick!) and although the current crown of favourite rests on the Cannon St branch, I was a big fan of this one. Big, spacious and impeccably well decorated, this dimly lit hall is a great spot for a quick and healthy dinner. Given that it's hidden behind the Tate Modern, I was surprised it wasn't more busy. It'd make for an ideal evening out that, bit of modern art followed by a hearty tapas style dinner. The food here was just as good as that experienced in other Leon branches, and I thought the service was great. Friendly and efficient staff are to be found here. It's also a quick walk from my office, so I expect I'll be in here for a few lunches. Hellloooooooo meatballs. read more

Great place for food after the gym. They seem to have though everything out, from showing calorie counts to even doing a bunless burger which includes everything apart from the bread. It's not the cheapest food avaliable, but it is good quality, cooked extremely quickly when the restaurant isn't too busy and tasty+filling. Tap water is avalible and the cucumber/lemons are a nice touch. I'm not a fan of their drinks though, which taste very watered down. My favourites are their quickly cooked lunch boxes avaliable all day. Chargrilled chicken and chorizo, and pork/chilli apple stew have not disappointed yet. read more

I'm sure I've had Mediterranean food before and they didnt taste the way they did at Leon's. My chili chicken was grilled chicken with a red sauce and sour cream + pickled relish on a bed of brown rice for about 6gbp. Did I like it? Hard to explain. It definitely wasn't bad and was flavourful. The side of corn of the cob, about 2.5 gbp was really delicious though, which made me happy to be there. The fresh orange juice didn't taste so freshly squeezed. The food comes out right away. Essentially you just line up to order and they give you the pre-packaged hot steamy food you ordered without having to wait (even faster than mcdonalds). The portions are tiny. It was good for me for a lunch size, but if it were dinner and I was really hungry, I totally would have wanted something more. Not impressed. read more

A quick & healthy lunch? Yes please! I'm a big fan of their chargrilled chicken superfood salad and yes - their delicious lemonades though I do try to steer away from sugar and these are quite sweet. The service is efficient, though I do feel sometimes that they don't give you enough time to look at the menu and hush you to order in a very insisting manner if you're taking your time to ponder on the side. I also think that for a lunch place these days...you kinda have to provide nutrition facts - though I said 'healthy' in the beginning - it really is up to you to go online, check out their menu and see what the nutrition is like for whatever you wish to order. The atmosphere in this place is great - large glass windows, wooden / urban interior though I never have time do sit down there but I'm always tempted. However to explain my 3 stars - is lack of readily available nutrition facts, portion size (a bit too small for what you're paying) and hushing of the orders. When I first stumbled upon Leon in Spitalfields a couple of years ago I had no idea it was a chain - it has the air of something unique and independent, which in ways it is regardless of its chain status: healthy and ethical fast food in friendly, comfortable surroundings. A visit to leon makes you feel good. I was delighted when I found this one close to my old work, and it quickly became a regular lunch stop. The only thing that stopped me eating there every day was the price, which is a little steeper than your average Pret meal, although soups are priced the same and there is a veggie and meat option daily. The menu changes seasonally and always includes wraps alongside some bigger meals, normally served with salad and brown rice. Currently, the halloumi and chilli wrap is my favourite. The drinks and sweets are also great especially the pecan pie and blackcurrant quencher. This particular Leon is really big compared to some and where you choose to sit will dictate what type of time you have - I personally like the area at the back to the right, where there is a row a little tables, a long leather bench and armchairs - it's really cosy and feels more secluded than the rest which is open and airy with huge glass windows. The staff are also really friendly which helps in the middle of a stressful day at work! read more

Oooh, this is a gorgeous building, isn't it? Really, really beautiful. It's all stripped back and industrial, but they've made it look all cosy. Not an easy task. Even the tiles in the bathroom are nice. We arrived just as they we putting on their dinner menu, and honestly I wouldn't come here for dinner. Actually, I came here for tea and cake to cheer myself up after some not great news. But that didn't stop them explaining their dinner menu to us and being a tad patronising (basically exactly the same as their lunch menu, but smaller and without sides but not much cheaper). The staff were friendly though, so I shouldn't give them too much grief, it's not their fault I was being a grouch. Tea was excellent (I know, it's just tea, but a rubbish cuppa might just have pushed me over the edge), chocolate pie did what it was meant to do, but I've made better myself. Actually, I don't think they made this on sight, the pastry tasted bought-in. I'd come here for coffee, I'd come here for lunch. But dinner? Nah. Not entirely sure how a salad, cake, lemonade and tea came up to £15 either. But I really really really like the building and it seems tasty good value for lunch. The Leon chain adds variety to the fast food market. There is a decent choice and it is reasonably priced. However the branches and quality of the food also varies! This branch at Bank side behind the Tate modern needs to raise its game. I've been 4 or 5 times in the last 3 weeks June/July 2021 with work colleagues and friends. The experiences are: luke warm food - on all occasions, rubbery fries, rice to sauce and filling ratio poor (so you end up with a box of dry rice), the chicken in the chicken burger I had was dry, tough and over cooked. I could go on. The only positives I can think of was when a friend ordered a mint tea but got given lemon and ginger which I love. So we had this on the house. A second is for those conscious of socially distancing this branch has outdoor seating and is usually quiet. Is this an indicator? Staff are pleasant enough but who is in charge of quality control? Is too much food being prepared and thus left sitting around? Granted these are hard times for all, so we have to adapt. What worked before may need to be modified. Come on Bank side. I want this to be good. Cruel to be kind. Perhaps a trip to the London Bridge branch is needed. read more

In hot weather like now, we needed something refreshing for lunch, so we finally tried Leon on Saturday. As I don't like garlic, I asked them not to put garlic on my grilled chicken which they kindly obliged. It came beautifully grilled and served on a bed of fresh-tasting salad of quinoa, seeds, broccoli, etc. The dressing was just right: nothing greasy or piquant. However we found a bit of withered brown-edged leaves and hope it was a one-off incident. This branch is right behind Tate Modern and student's accommodation, so three tables next to us were occupied by university students. If you're looking for a healthy and tasty food cafe, this is the perfect place to head to, although we went quite late in the day and they had run out of some things that were on the menu, the food we did have was delicious! I had salmon fishcakes on a bed of mixed leaves salad with a chilli sauce and my boyfriend had the Leon Gobi both of which were packaged like presents in a brown (recycled) box. This is one of my favourite restaurants and this Leon is certainly one of the best, massive with loads of room for a big bar/order area and seats and tables. I love the menu too, i've only ever had the sharing tapas platters but i can't get enough. The food is so tasty, I can't get enough of the sweet potato mash, so delicious. Great filling food and not too pricey either, the only downside is that they haven't really expanded outside of London yet! This place serves wholesome food with a Mediterranean feel. However whilst the dishes are tasty and you leave feeling full the price is a massive pain. I found the menu quite confusing, so ordered a samon wholefood salad with lattice fries, I was told for 10p I could upgrade and get a freshly made lemonade so I did and this cost me the good side of £12. For lunch, that's outrageous. I know I may have ordered the most expensive thing on the menu but that is besides the point. The food was really good and the area you eat in very laid back and furnished well but I would come to Leon more as a treat, than as a regular. With M&S just around the corner you can get a very similar quality meal and eat this outside the Tate watching the river for less than half the cost. read more
