He's gone out of his way to contact the manufacturers directly and expedite a couple of manufacturer service related updates that needed to be done, as well as a few adjustments to our front end. The updates and repairs were done quickly and expeditiously. He facilitated the sourcing of the parts, direct from the manufacturer, EPIC CARTS, who shipped them right away! Ryan is an excellent contact person between the customer and the service department at Leonard truck and trailer! Highly recommended! Sam, the service department manager and his crew of techs did a great job getting my custom cart in and fixed quick and back to me in time to enjoy the fall Tom Gamble, our salesman is a really great guy and the entire place is full of helpful people and really good deals on trailers and they have a TON of LSV's or low speed vehicles in the lot, many of them are STREET LEGAL in Ohio, liked ours!! They had my horse trailer there to detail - while there the air vent in the bathroom went missing and it rained inside destroying the floor . They claimed they did not touch the roof - but I paid them to detail the entire outside of my trailer. They still made me pay to replace the floor said they would give me a "bargain". We lived in this area but moved away 10 years ago. Leonard was a staple throughout my childhood but I never needed anything they provided. This summer we pulled our travel trailer cross country and parked in the lake Milton koa. Towards the end of our trip we had a broken heat sync? Part of our water heater. My husband called Leonard and they had the part and ended up giving us one extra for the road which was awesome. Great guys. read more

Leonard's power washed our trailer during an extreme cold snap while we had it under consignment with them. Flooded the living quarters thru the ventilation system that went to the horse compartment. The living quarters now has extensive water damage and they will not admit their mistake due to us, the owners selling it because their salesman would not return phone calls to interested people wanting to buy it. So much for their ad saying they are a family company standing behind what they do. Now they are trying to charge us almost 700 dollars for power washing and ruining our trailer. The manager was rude and nasty and has no business dealing with the public. read more

Some months ago I traveled to Leonard truck and trailer to order a new window for my horse trailer. I paid for it in advance and Leonard's told me I would have it by mid November. It is now December 12, 2020 and I don't have it. I understand that the window was being fabricated by a third party and the Leonard folks have very little control over another supplier That brings me to the reason I am upset and the reason You SHOULD NOT DO BUSINESS WITH LEONARD TRUCK AND TRAILER That is that in all my dealing with Matt and service manager chuck and even general manager Paul Macelvoy who promised to call me back yesterday and did not. I saw a used 40' cargo trailer online and called about it for details, because I lived 2500+ miles away. I spoke with Dan Bond and asked him about the condition of the trailer, if it had any leaks, or any other issues that I'd need to address. Dan wwnt out and took several additional photos, said that the brakes and bearings were done, tires were good and there was a spare and everything worked. I hired a driver and when he picked it up the electric jack didn't work. He was told that I was called and told what happened and I said OK, just bring it, but I was never called. I called Dan and he wasn't there, but would look into it and ithen he just said that you bought it as-is. Fast forward, trailer loaded to move homes and it blew 3 tires, one after another. No spare, I had to buy one and when replacing the remaining tires the mechanic found that the rear drums were wobbling. He took them apart and found the wrong sized bearings had been installed. Never heard back from Dan again either. Why should he bother, he got my money. read more

L My wife and I have been shopping for a 2+1 horse trailer for a few months. We saw a 2023 Shadow advertised on Leonardtrailers.com with a listed sale price of $38,629. This trailer appealed to us for both the competitive price and the fact that it was pictured having a pass-through door from the tack room to the box stall and had upgraded tire rims. I texted from the web site and inquired if the unit was still available and was told it was. I informed them that I live in New Jersey and asked what the additional fees would be beyond tax and title. Deceitful Pricing - The response was a call from a sales person, Justin. He informed me that we would pay sales tax in NJ but in addition to the advertised "sale" price we would need to pay tags, a $200 doc fee, and freight. I told him we would pick it up and there shouldn't be freight but he said it was the freight to have it delivered to their lot that I had to pay. I asked him to send a price quote in writing which he did. The quote I received showed the advertised "sale" price plus a charge of $915 for freight. I went back to their web site and nowhere does it mention that the prices listed exclude freight to their lot. I called Justin and told him I thought this was very deceptive. He said they charge freight to everyone and it doesn't matter what the web site says, but he offered to split the cost if we could do a deal today. I requested an updated quote and told him I'd discuss it with the wife and get back to him the next morning. We should have walked at this point as they failed to honor the advertised price, but we liked the trailer. The next day, before I got back to Justin, the Shadow dealer in Kentucky listed an identical trailer, excluding the pass-through door and upgraded rims for $1800 less than our current deal. I called Justin and told him about the unit being $1800 less but excluding the pass-through door and rims. He said that those extras have value and I agreed with him; but told him I didn't feel they were worth $1800 and countered that we eliminate the remaining half of the freight that was in the quote and just go with the "sale" price on the web site (or about $1400 more than the Kentucky unit). He agreed and I gave him my credit card details for a $500 deposit (they add a 2% processing fee so the charge was $510). I told him it's a six-hour drive for us to get there and we would be out in a few days on Saturday to pick the trailer up. Bait and Switch - When we arrived at their lot Saturday morning, Justin took us out to the trailer. It had neither the upgraded rims nor did it have the pass-through door (both of which Justin agreed it had just a few days prior). We told Justin we were not interested and he got his sales manager, Tom, involved. Tom apologized for the error and offered to have his shop put the door in but wouldn't do anything about the rims and we would have to come back to pick it up after the door was installed. He claimed that it would cost him $2400 to put the door in (probably a $500 option if ordered from the factory) and that this was all he had room in the deal to do. Needless to say, we were not happy and asked for our deposit back and got a credit for $500, we were told we had to eat the $10 fee as it went to the credit card company, but if we decided to buy a trailer later, they'd figure out a way to credit us. They care so little about being truthful that, as I write this, the trailer is again listed for sale on their website, false pictures, description, and all. What this cost us- 12 hours driving there and back, 800 miles on our truck, $250 in fuel, and the $10 credit card processing fee. They have a huge inventory, but lack in professionalism, customer service and quality. It is unfortunate I must right this review as I actually have a great need for trailers in our line of work. First, the salesman are trained to rush the customer and get a deposit as items are "going fast". In trying to make a decision on what was best for my company, I was asked several times to put money down on one so I wouldn't "lose out". On two separate occasions, we bought two trailers where the side doors literally fell off and a flatbed whose dovetail ramp popped off on the initial ride back to the warehouse! When asking the sales manager to exchange, he said that his service department would handle it. Great!!! Another 4 hours at a trailer dealership. I can't stand having my time wasted so much on something as simple as trailer purchases time and time again. Its unfortunate this relationship has to end. Finally, I finally got the dealership manager, Mark Reed, and in my frustration asked me if I was a "sound adult". Have a little compassion! I've spent 2 days dealing with defective trailers and rude salesman and there you are insulting me in my time of frustration. It isn't the salesman, it isn't the product, it isn't the sales manager, it isn't the dealership manager. ITS THE WHOLE COMPANY! read more

The back ramp door of my enclosed trailer fell off when I was loading a 400 lb crate into the trailer using a pallet jack. I purchased a brand new trailer from Leonard truck and trailer two months and one week prior. The welds failed and looking at the welds you can clearly see that there is no penetration. So whoever welded this trailer didn't know how to weld. They refuse to take the trailer back regardless if it's unsafe or not. They do not stand behind the products that they sell. And Leonard truck and trailer could care less if this trailer falls apart and kills a family of five going down the road. Also when I bought the trailer the key never came with it I called them 3 times and sent text messages to my salesman Justin with no response. So I had to look up the manufacture of the lock and purchase a replacement key on my own. Also this is the only company I've ever met that tells you one price then when you get there tries to tell you they're charging you freight. Overall Leonard truck and trailer does not care about their customers only cares about the Almighty dollar. Walmart has a better return policy. read more

I purchased a trailer from Leonard Truck and Trailer, it has been the worst experience, The manager Paul would never return my calls. After the sale you are on your OWN!!!! This aluminum trailer is junk hole in roof, many welds cracked, brought trailer back to show them the defects, even though the trailer had severe structural problems besides a hole in roof you could throw a cat thru, they still allowed us to leave and transport a $200,000 laser in an admittedly defected trailer that was recommended by their salesman for described use. Do not trust what Paul says, he will not follow thru, the rest of the staff are sincere, but their leader (Paul) only cares about selling big expensive horse trailers. I will never purchase from Leodard Truck and Trailer again, and I will make sure that my friends do not make the mistake also. Do not TRUST PAUL!! read more

Won't go back... was treated second rate there..was embarrassed in front of customers and the staff...

I purchased a used trailer from them. I paid a $95 "Document Fee". I waited over three (3) weeks for my title and or Certificate of Origin. After leaving messages and sending emails, I was notified they did not have any documentation except a copy of a plate registration that expired over two (2) years ago. The local BMV would not accept it as a valid document. I will also have to take it to a weigh station to get a Certified Weight Certificate at an additional cost of $30 as well as at least a couple of hours of my time. This is not my first trailer purchase but it will be my last from this place! read more
