First time visitor. Husband and I ordered the thick crust pizza 8 cut. We were eating in the dining room. I noted our waitress walking a pizza crust from the kitchen to the front where the pizza ovens of located. Now I assume it was frozen. After waiting a long period of time the same crust was delivered to our table. It was hard. Burnt on the bottom. The sauce was canned and painted on with a brush. For all the hype We heard it was bar none the worst pizza I have ever tasted. The waitress was accommodating and took it off the bill. So so disappointed! If you are an Italian restaurant shouldn't your pizza and sauce be your best homemade items????? I recommend avoiding this place. read more

To be fair, I've only ordered the calzones and pizza in my years of going here. The calzone is that good that I don't bother to order anything else. The pizza is great, but the calzones are incredible. read more

A local, (thanks to Joe M.) recommended Leonardo's. Our party of four came for a weekday lunch and got the large combo pizza. It took about 20 minutes and was well worth the wait! The hand-made crust was truly delicious and the toppings were just right. Once full, we still had a slice to take out. They had Yuengling on draft. Our server was fine. I had never eaten there before so I went in and wanted to order chicken Parmesan. I inquired about what kind of sauce they had. I wanted a red sauce with meat like a bolognese. They sent two different sauces for me to try. One was the Bolognese and one was just plain red sauce. I told them I wanted the Bolognese. When I got home and opened my container I was disgusted to see that I did not get the sauce that I asked for. We had a nice lunch here while we were in town. We had some little jalapeno tator tot things for an appetizer which were right up my alley. We also ordered a white pizza with bacon and tomatoes on it, and my husband ordered a cheesesteak. He enjoyed it but we chuckled a bit at the bread they used. We are used to Amoroso type soft hoagie rolls. They used a roll which appeared to be made in house - it seemed like it was made of pizza dough. It was pretty thin and chewy and crunchy and had holes in it but it was surprisingly pretty damn good. The pizza was good and the service was great. We would eat there again for sure. read more

Planning movie night and making pizza with the family, I had everything but the ingredients for pizza dough. Checked a few store but no one had pizza dough so I called Leonard's, and the lady said she'd sell me pizza dough. Went right over and bought the dough, WOW not only was she rude but charged me $21.00 for two 14" pizza DOUGH. If I wasn't so pressed for time to get home and ready for the family I would of left the dough. Total RIP OFF How can people take such advantage of their customers. This was my first time there. Stopped in for a quick sandwich for Wednesday night. They were quite busy. The service was exceptional. My waitress was spot on very pleasant and engaging. Ordered an Italian sub with a draft, but put the sandwich over the top was there homemade bread. Incredible would highly recommend this place. read more

During AppleFest it was very busy and it took a while for our pizza to get to us. (An hour or so), but it was hot and fresh and yummy. I had a Slice of Pepperoni Pizza, big portions, you definitely get what you pay for. Hope to go back when it's not so crazy in town. read more

The bread. OMG THE BREAD! I just had my second visit to Leonardo's and I love it. It is a small hometown type restaurant, and not the most exciting decor but the food makes it all worthwhile. The spaghetti and meatball are delicious. I ordered the small portion and it was pretty much a good size portion. After all, one needs to save room to scarf down the bread. It is homemade, chewy, warm and spectacular. I cannot say enough about it! It is also used on their subs, so be sure to try one of those too. This is my second time eating at Leonardo's! The first time, a lady on the street was raving on the pizza...so I had to try it. The prices are fair, the staff is friendly, and the pizza is good. We had a small pepperoni and black olive pizza, which was more than enough for two people, plus an order of jalapeño poppers. It is right on Liberty Street with all of the little shops, so the location is great if you're antiquing :-) read more

Been here a few times and the food is pretty solid. They are best known for their pizzas, my personal favorite is the Alfredo chicken pizza. Full of flavor and never disappoints. The Stromboli's are too big for even 2 people but is hearty and delicious. We also ordered a few entrees, fettuccine Alfredo and shrimp scampi. They were both underwhelming and were mostly watered down. However the chicken Parmesan was quite delightful. Entrees are a hit or miss, need to look at pictures and reviews! read more

I used to love coming in and enjoying some pizza, wings, or pasta but the last time and the Final time I went, my pasta tasted like chemical water. A hometown favorite. Leo's as it's known by the locals is pretty much the best place to go in the small Victorian town of Franklin. On the weekends or after a show at the Barrow Civic Theater the place is humming and the staff are on their game. The fare is typical Italian American and nothing amazing, but it's always prepared well and somehow always hits the spot. Though their entrees aren't amazing their pizzas, calzones, wedgies, and fresh baked bread are amazing. The calzones have to be my favorite, chewy yet crisp dough. A perfect amount of oozing mozzarella and loads of creamy ricotta with ham and their signature sauce that doesn't overpower. Great prices, family friendly, and amazing take-out. Do it. read more

Tiny towns always have one really awesome Italian/pizza place and Franklin has that in Leonardo's. Great stuffed ravioli and steak subs, great food in general. It's a small place that you feel squashed into, but it always comes back to the food for me. I tend to get it to go to avoid the dining room. I stopped in here with a friend, her husband, and her son for an early dinner. The menu was extensive and we wanted to try several things. The waitress was very friendly, but my friend's son is in 8th grade and asked my friends (instead of talking to him) if he wanted crayons and a kid's menu (he wasn't happy haha). The local wine from across the street was only offered in bottles which was a bit disappointing (we'd just come from buying bottles directly at the winery, so it didn't make sense to buy another bottle when just two of us planned to have one glass with our meal). I am in Pennsylvania on a work trip and was given guidance by yelp to give this place a try. I ordered the Stromboli which was filled with a delicious mixture of mozzarella, ham, salami, mushrooms, onions, and bell peppers. One would think that with all those delicate meats swimming in a pool of cheese would lead to a grease orgy, but you would be mistaken. The Stromboli had crisp exterior with a warm soft center and every bite was delicious. For the price of the meal you can't beat it, my tab was $12 for a small Stromboli, which was the size of a large dinner plate, and two draft beers. Awesome food. If you order a calzone, be prepared to take half of it home with you, or order a size or two smaller than you think you can eat. I go for pizza occasionally, too, which is really good. I've never been displeased with the food. Some days this place is packed and you have to sit in a table where you will most likely have people trying to squeeze past -- probably because it's so good, though. We arrived in Franklin after a long day of driving and were anxious to find some dinner. Leonardo's was just down from our hotel. The place is fairly small but warm and inviting. The staff was pleasant and attentive. My husband had a personal pizza which he really enjoyed. I ordered cheese ravioli and was very pleased with the tasty cheese filling. I heard from locals that this place serves great Italian food and that the pizza is especially good. I have eaten here twice in the past year and while the service was good the food was average. The first time I ordered pizza and i was disappointed to find they used canned mushrooms, which is a pet peeve of mine. The next time I ordered a stromboli and it was okay but nothing that would bring me back. It is unlikely I will return on my own accord. read more

This is Franklin's favorite pizza joint. Every W PA town should have one. Beer, wings, great pizza and subs! On fridays year around they have the beer battered fish dinner. OMG!
