We had a nice lunch here while we were in town. We had some little jalapeno tator tot things for an appetizer which were right up my alley. We also ordered a white pizza with bacon and tomatoes on it, and my husband ordered a cheesesteak. He enjoyed it but we chuckled a bit at the bread they used. We are used to Amoroso type soft hoagie rolls. They used a roll which appeared to be made in house - it seemed like it was made of pizza dough. It was pretty thin and chewy and crunchy and had holes in it but it was surprisingly pretty damn good. The pizza was good and the service was great. We would eat there again for sure.

The bread. OMG THE BREAD! I just had my second visit to Leonardo's and I love it. It is a small hometown type restaurant, and not the most exciting decor but the food makes it all worthwhile. The spaghetti and meatball are delicious. I ordered the small portion and it was pretty much a good size portion. After all, one needs to save room to scarf down the bread. It is homemade, chewy, warm and spectacular. I cannot say enough about it! It is also used on their subs, so be sure to try one of those too. Service was good - both times I have gone I have only had friendly service.

This is my second time eating at Leonardo's! The first time, a lady on the street was raving on the pizza...so I had to try it. The prices are fair, the staff is friendly, and the pizza is good. We had a small pepperoni and black olive pizza, which was more than enough for two people, plus an order of jalapeño poppers. It is right on Liberty Street with all of the little shops, so the location is great if you're antiquing :-)

I always stop for pizza when in Franklin. Pizza is above average, I'd say 7 of 10 and very reasonable. Their pasta dishes are great

Probably the best Italian resteraunt in the area. Great food, great people. Could be a bit larger. When busy, very hard to get seated.

Restaurant inside is like a diner; but the staff was friendly and helpful. We started with the breadsticks with cheese; served on a plate with garlic butter sauce, delicious. Served with marinara. Side salads fresh. I had the chicken parm, very good, chicken perfect, spaghetti not al dente but good, got a meatball added, good flavor. Aimée had the lasagna, said it was very very good. We'll be back!

We got to the place sat down and the table was dirty, I told the manager that it needs cleaned. He gave me an attitude but he cleaned it. And then we ordered food. The portions are smaller. The prices went up and the quality is not as good. My daughter ordered a Cheeseburger, it was burnt. We couldn't tell anybody about it because nobody ever came back to our table. We never received the bill. So I went up to the counter and told him we need the bill......After we ordered a food and After we got done eating. We had a stack of dishes about 2 feet in front of our table that nobody would take and the manager was cleaning all the other tables. I went up to pay for the food and told them to take the cheeseburger off. Because my daughter didn't like it. And he says well, that's too bad. That's how they make him here. After arguing with him for 10 minutes or so he said he'll take it off. Then I asked for a refill on my diet Pepsi, he said they don't have refills. I've never heard of a restaurant that does not have refills. And then I ask him well, just give me 2 Styrofoam cups so we could take our drinks to go. He said they don't give you drinks to go. He wouldn't give me 2 cups. I guess he's very cheap.i told him I don't see what the big deal is......I don't know what the story is at this place . I will never go back there again. We come up this way couple times a month because we have a house in the the forest..... a vacation home that is..and drive 100 miles to get here...if i want an attitude i would have stayed in Pittsburgh...but we will quit coming here. For now, on, we'll go to much better places in the area.

My wife, who's Italian, wants to take this +1 hour trip several times a year just to come here because it reminds her of the various "Mom & Pop" restaurants of her hometown in northeast PA. It sits in downtown DuBois with plenty of parking options nearby. The restaurant is good sized but it also does a lot of business so plan ahead on the weekends. The inside has a cozy/hometown feel with pictures of their family all over the walls. I don't think much has changed to the interior in those 20 years and that's okay by me. For this outing we opted for the antipasta salad, Italian wedding soup, veal parm and stuffed manicotti. Their dishes are more traditional italian (i.e. not olive garden) and they offer lunch, half, or full-sized portions. Their gravy has a good balance between sweet and savory. They also make a great fresh baked loaf of bread and they're happy to bring several to the table throughout the course. It was a special occasion so we closed out the night with their famous strawberry cheesecake. Service was excellent and the bill, with several drinks, was around $60 for 2. This is not a chain; it has character, it's not polished but it's a true gem of spot in rural PA. I'm glad places like this still exist!
